I stayed at the Kimpton Pittman and dined here each morning, and I was so happy with both the food and service. The eggs Benedict are incredible, and the staff is exceptional. Everyone was friendly and caring, which I appreciated, especially while on a work trip where you might feel a bit stressed. I had the pleasure of interacting with Kenna, Muriel, and the manager, and they were a delight! Definitely stop by if you re staying at the Pittman or if you re in the area!

This is such a beautiful restaurant and bar with lots of seating options and semi private spaces that were carefully decorated. The lunch selections we ordered were delicious. We sat at the bar and the bartender was welcoming and attentive. I loved the pistachio dressing and I highly recommend coming here!

Elm & Good is an absolute gem, conveniently located downstairs in the Kimpton Pittman Hotel. It was delightful to enjoy an exquisite happy hour, get pleasantly tipsy, and then retreat upstairs for a quick nap before heading out for an exciting night on the town. The service was exceptional and warm. Despite it being my first visit, the bartender made me feel like a cherished regular, which added a special touch to the overall experience. The drinks were nothing short of fantastic. I indulged in the Pittman Pear Margarita, which was bursting with amazing flavor and had a generous pour. After just one drink, I was already feeling great exactly what you hope for from a quality cocktail. But the true star of Elm & Good was the food. Their happy hour is an incredible deal, especially considering the deliciousness of every bite. I began with the Deep Ellum Sliders and tried just two of the Chicken Drumettes. However, they were so delectable that I couldnt resist ordering three more. Each bite was a delightful experience, showcasing the chefs dedication to flavor and quality. Though I only had the chance to visit during happy hour, it was impressive enough to make me eager to return for dinner service. Elm & Good left a lasting impression, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience, whether youre a guest at the hotel or simply exploring the area. This place is a must-visit, and I cant wait to return for more of their exceptional food and drinks.

I love this place! Mostly because of the bar and bartenders, Liz, Jos and Jesse are always friendly, smiling with great conversation. Its like the TV show Cheers, Where everybody knows your name! The food was awful. I had the breakfast bistro sandwich and it was flavorless and had a single tomato sliced right in the middle. Also tried the breakfast tacos and it was pretty tasteless. Food is super bland. The pear margarita was the only decent thing they had. My friends seemed to enjoy their drinks and that s it.

What a hidden gem. I just happened upon this restaurant in the lobby of the Pittman Hotel and Im so glad I did. The food is ABSOLUTELY fantastic but the service is even better! Mr. Kenneth is definitely one of the reasons Ill be rushing back. He took his time and helped us through the menu and made sure my wife and I were taken care from start to finish. All of the food was fantastic. Shout out to those tiny doughnuts they serve as an aperitif. Sheesh...those damn things are fire! Cant wait to go back. Just might be my new breakfast spot.

We really had the best bartender at this hotel bar. We were staying here on a layover and came down for a night cap. He made me a really amazing whiskey cocktail. It was a decently big place, with a good vibe. We had some tasty fries too but would love to try the actual food one day!

We stayed at the hotel and got breakfast here on a Monday morning. There were only 3 other tables being served at the same time, but the service was slow and impersonal. My husband and I both ordered coffee, and it was lukewarm when our server brought it to us. I ordered lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes, and they were simultaneously burnt on the outside and underdone on the inside. When I told our server that I d like to order sourdough toast and that he could take my barely touched plate of pancakes away, he didn t even bat an eye. He then brought me a plate of toast that 2/4 pieces were completely untoasted. Very, very disappointing food quality and service for the prices and restaurant quality.

I think this was the worst service I have ever gotten. I came here with friends last night and we each got 1 or 2 drinks and an entree, got there at 8:00 and didn t leave until 11:30 because our server never came to our table. We didn t get our first drink until an hour after we had sat down and when I got mine, it was wrong. The server probably came once every 45 minutes. There were 3 other tables when we got there, place was totally empty, and everyone else had been gone for an hour when our server finally brought the check, which she refused to split for us saying she was too busy (again no one else had been there) and said they had been closed for an hour at 11:10. They close at 11 not sure why she felt the need to lie continuously to us. She added automatic gratuity to our party so she got paid 20% either way for the worst service I have ever had. I m not risking an almost 4 hour dinner again by coming here this place is extremely poorly managed evidently. And it s always empty whenever I ve gone so it s like the whole city knows not to come here.

First time in to try Oak & Elm, decided to sit at the bar. The bartenders appearance was shocking sloppy and unkept, his skills behind the bar were even worse! Over-poring glasses, spilling drinks on himself, on the floor all while sweating on everything! My husband and I tried to have a conversation, but Anthony the bartender insisted on interrupting and even joining in! I ordered a Cesar salad it was awful! The man sitting next to us also ordered the same salad. He ate his I did not! Wet dripping lettuce, and a dressing like no Cesar salad I ve ever eaten before. I told him I didn t like my salad, but it was still added to our bill. The customer next to us was in town on business, we again tried to have a conversation. It was impossible! Between the sweating on everything he touched, his interruptions is was an experience I never want to repeat!

UPDATE #2: After being invited back by the GM, I wish I could report that the experience was better, but alas it was not. UPDATE: The GM was kind enough to reach out to us and asked that we give them a second chance. We are going back, and I will update this review. As far as Im concerned, the fact that the GM reached out and cares changes my opinion positively! ORIGINAL REVIEW: The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, and I loved the lighting and atmosphere, but our experience at brunch was disappointing. Price was insane for what was offered. I have no problem spending $59/pp for brunch, but I expect the food to be a smidge above what I would make at home. We were one of the last seatings (I guess)... the food in the buffet chaffing dishes was dried out. The tongs were dirty, we had to wait for plates at the buffet, there were only broken pieces of bacon left, I asked for syrup for the french toast - the buffet runner said they were all out, cinnamon rolls must have been sitting out since they opened, and the meats for the charcuterie were dried out and never replenished. The meal ended with cold coffee that had been brewed some time ago and a poor selection of desserts for a hotel of this supposed caliber. The final sour note was being charged $7 to valet. When I showed him my validation from the restaurant, he said $7 was the reduced rate... we waited about 10 minutes in the heat to have the car brought around. I wanted so much to like this place, but I cant recommend it. Our family of eights brunch with tip came to $725 plus another $35 for valet.

I was in town for work, staying at the hotel and spent a few of my nights having dinner down at the bar. The chef was playing around with the menu and changing things up and my favorite was the burger and truffle fries. What I really enjoyed most and why I had dinner there for several nights is because of Joseph the bartender and the other friendly staff working. Joseph was attentive, shared recommendations and was just down right refreshing to chat with. He is friendly, funny, a great multitasker, good listener and knows how to make a great drink! We ordered the 4 course meal and I d say 1 of the courses was actually good (not great), the rest lacked any flavor. The service was also less than impressive, having to ask for the same thing multiple times. You would think on Valentine s Day a restaurant would bring their A-game. I don t see myself returning, there are plenty of restaurants in Dallas with MUCH better value for the price.

I had a great experience at Elm and Good. It s located in Kimpton Pittman Hotel. In a city that doesn t forget its roots, The Kimpton Pittman Hotel is stepping into the future with one foot in the past. Our building, designed by African-American architect William Sidney Pittman in 1916. I always wanted to go there and stay but it is eclectic having under a 140 rooms. I was going to an event the hotel was hosting. So having a chance to dine was right on the money. The space was quiet for about 10 minutes and then the bar area started buzzing. It got crowded with happy people having crafted cocktails. I think I confused the waitstaff when he offered me wine and my counteroffer was beer on draft. Sorry..not sorry . I m a beer girl tried and true. It was a nice crisp lager as I waited for my friend. There was some beautiful lacing in the glass but I forgot to snap an after photo. I figured two appetizers and beer will keep full but not bogged down if I wanted to cut a rug/drop it low later. Deviled eggs are a weakness and when they add bacon you got me sold! I ordered that and bone marrow. That was a surprising because you don t normally see this at a bistro type of restaurant as I would depict having the range. It was filling and delicious. I would have loved another one. My friend had a big body burger. She seems very please and had a beer as well. Community IPA ..drink local my friends. Afterward we enjoyed Soul Rebels rock the stage with a New Orleans fusion with classic mashup s. It was so good. Elm and Good has parking for the restaurant and hotel. You have to be sure you slow down or you ll miss it like I did. I used the public parking and since it was a weekday it was affordable. I definitely want to go back and explore more of the menu selections and try a crafted cocktail.

Grease! Would you like a side of eggs with that grease? Met my daughter and her family for brunch. I ordered the brisket hash and it was swimming in orange grease. I thought it was a sauce that the hash was sitting in but it was grease. The breakfast potatoes were so soaked in grease that where were very soft and so dark they were the color of the brisket. I couldnt tell one from the other. I asked the eggs to be cooked over medium. I even asked the server if over medium fried egg meant that the yolk would ooze a bit and he said yes. When my dish arrived the eggs were so over cooked that the yolk looked like the yolk in a hard boiled egg. When I asked to have the eggs re-made, they came back the same. The server even made a comment that they must not know how to make an over medium fried egg even though its in one of the other menu items. Its a shame really. I was looking forward to dining here. The menu on the website looked yummy. Thats some awesome marketing!

Look I really really wanted to like this trendy well done atmospheric appearance of a restaurant. Vibrant bar, very friendly waitress and a synth player for a Friday night but I have to say food wise this was the Andrea Doria. A slow sinking disaster of an epicurean experience. Misses - Redfish entrée lacked salty, earthiness for being blackened and it s side salad was not edible. Mussels with too thin curry broth was just strange and didn t taste normal. Eggplant tempura with flowers and honey was so far off it s hard to explain who green light the concept to start with, the only this more damaging was the flavor profile as it was cooked in burnt oil and thoroughly lacked an acidic sauce of some kind, like please someone hurl some red tomato sauce at this! Duck egg carbonara was a muddle, flavorless mess. For starters why not have the yolk sitting on top of the pasta when presented and allow the guest to break. Anyway it was a total bore. Now for what was good. Every dish really did look great. My eyeballs were the only part of my body that was happy that evening. The Brussels sprout salad was literally top five salads I have ever eaten and the fire brick oven cooked bread tasted on point. Seriously this place has potential but needs culinary oversight.

I was invited to a birthday dinner last night at this place and had never even heard of it/it s so new. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! Nearly everything we ate was delicious. The Lion s Mane mushroom cake appetizer was one of the standouts of the evening. Similar to a crab cake- it was AMAZING. Red fish ceviche was okay. I m also a huge fan of bone marrow- so I was surprised when it came out that it was initially over-cooked and I literally only got 3 tiny scrapes out of two long bones. I pointed this out to our server, and he graciously took it back to the kitchen and had another sent out- which was DIVINE. Cooked perfectly. I m still thinking about it!! Our table got mostly gnocchi & pot roast entrees- both of which were fantastic!! Someone got the blackened red fish- the sauce was great, but they weren t kidding about the blackened part- so just be aware! I was also surprised and delighted when I asked the waiter if the bartenders could come up with a mocktail (there are none on the menu) they KILLED it. Some kind of blackberry lavender lemonade and it was to DIE for. My alcohol-drinking friends at the table were jealous! My only other comments on food: the French fries are in fact, potato wedges. :-/ The side of mushrooms was a little off/needed some kind of butter or salt (which was wild, since that mushroom cake was so stellar). The other dish I can t get out of my head is their carrot cake dessert. YALL!!! I ve never been a huge fan of carrot cake- it s fine, but not my fave/go-to. This carrot cake was the most MOIST carrot cake I ve ever ever had- AND it s topped with huckleberry compote and WOW. This is a must-order! They additionally had some equally fantastic desserts: a chocolate cookie with ice cream, and homemade chewy CHURROS! Another out of this world item was the cajete sauce served with the churros: it s Carmel mixed with goats milk and it s fantastic! So smooth and not too sweet/doesn t hurt your teeth! Really surprised and delighted and would absolutely recommend/plan to come back!

OK so we stayed at the hotel and so we decided to eat here, we were able to get free breakfast for two as well as we ate dinner which was not free. Dinner was absolutely amazing, we really loved the host her name was Emily ! We also loved our waitress she is from New Orleans so we connected when I let her know that I love New Orlens as well. The bartender was super cool, I didn t get to drink but we did record a reel for Instagram together which is super cool. I absolutely loved dinner we ordered a pan seared chicken, a brussels sprout salad and a triple fried french fries, my husband didn t eat his salad but when we said we wanted to share the chicken they brought it out in two plates which I really loved. He said he loved the brussels sprout but he was just too full. I ate most of the triple fry french fries but I don t know that I would order it again. Now breakfast was a different story because I was about to give it five stars we came in in the morning people looked at us I asked do we seat ourselves and he answered yes and then basically didn t really talk to us and when I ask is there any kind of meat that s not pork he said no and I said wow that means I can t eat any meat and he just looked at me so I was super awkward. I literally removed one star just because he was so odd and it was not friendly at all. I m glad I had a great experience for dinner but if I had come during breakfast I would definitely have given it a one star. Oh and I forgot I was on FaceTime with my mom and it s so funny because we were literally there before they close and so nobody was there it was literally two other tables and ours and I guess the manager came to let me know I was disrupting the peace lol which is so stupid because if my husband and I were talking we could be talking the same way it was just very odd ! So I guess 3 stars

Went here for brunch with a party of 8 2 weeks ago and it took 45 mins for us to even get our drinks, and we were right next to the bar. When our food started coming out, and hour and a half after we had ordered, we found that the waitress hadn t put in some of our orders, the pancakes were doughy and uncooked in the middle, and some of us didn t have our sides. When we asked our waitress to inquire about a child s order because it had been an hour and she was hungry, the waitress asked us what we wanted her to do about it. We had to get the manager involved because we couldn t get any service, and the poor guy was fairly new and juggling multiple tables because we weren t the only table with issues. The food wasn t worth an almost 2 hour wait, and we had to go to a different restaurant to get the child a decent meal, as 2 orders of pancakes came out uncooked. The table behind us had similar issues, and we kept having to send back plates because they brought us the wrong orders.

If you are considering dining here, please do yourself a favor & take your business elsewhere. The food was barely decent, and overpriced. An hors doeuvre the size of my thumb priced a little under $10 that I had to serve myself? Crazy. If you d like a drink, be prepared to wait for an hour to get your order taken, and another hour for it to get brought out. I would probably feel a bit better if management at least acted like they cared. Terrible service, 2 subpar drinks in 4 hours, no working restroom in the restaurant, and I left the restaurant hungry. Never again.

This review is based off the bar service and drinks only We did not have food. First and foremost its a gorgeous tavern. love the leather, marble and lighting in the tavern. Drink service was quite terrible.. in fact it was awful.. the bar was not busy Friday night around 9PM during COVID (For those reading in the future) It took a while for Greg the bartender to take our drink order 2 old fashioned and a daiquiri. They were beautifully prepared and were quite good.. But I dont know if its because were werent in business casual attire.. it seemed like we were non-existent to Greg We did ask him politely if there was a reason why he was servicing only one end of the bar so diligently.. he explained that someone had called out and that it was just him bartending.. but he seemed to be quite relaxed conversating with the other people at the end of the bar.. We kept ordering and every time we had to flag him down from the other end. No bueno... Moving to Deep Ellum from Oak Lawn definitely will not be taking friends and family for drinks here.

I dont even think this place deserves one star. Went there for a graduation private party, planned a month in advance and was extremely disappointed. The place does not have it together AT ALL!!! The service was horrible, the catering manager was nowhere to be seen, no one would take responsibility and my party was a disaster. The first round of drinks took one hour to come out and the evening went on as such. Please do not waste your time with this venue.

Elm and Good was beyond our expectations. We came here for a graduation dinner. The staff were great the cocktails were very delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect-upscale without being stuffy. Our server, Moses, was amazing and very attentive. He gave us some great suggestions for food and drinks, very helpful, nice, and just all around great! The food itself was very delicious, we ordered 4 different appetizers (riblets, calamari, Burrata, hushpuppies), all the desserts, and everyone enjoyed their main meal. They also have some vegetarian options as well. Not a bad word to say about this place. Many places that are more upscale can also have staff that are pretentious and cold, we found the exact opposite to be true here. The staff were all lovely from the hostess, to the bartenders, and of course our server. Will definitely be coming back!

Elegant place. Friendly staff. Drinks were great. The drink on the top right of the menu was amazing. The hush puppies are delicious. The deserts were good. The pasta looked like the most bang for your buck. The steak I got was ok. It says it comes with sides but the side salad is not a side, it s just a few pieces of greens. The onion rings were good. The redfish that someone else got in my table was good. Overall it was very nice experience but we went on a sat night so parking and trying to Uber was a mess.

Not worth the price! The place looks elegant and it is farm to fresh so I was expecting better quality and great taste but it was totally disappointing! We spent $229 plus tips and ended up with zero satisfaction, not at all happy! Very less choices no chicken options and proper veg options.. salmon and pasta was super dry! Redfish was $28 but not totally happy with the taste and it was not flavorful. No wow factor at all! Drinks were $14 each but a couple drinks was filled with ICE. No perfection and No satisfaction! I wouldn t go there next time.. too much money for unworthy food! There are so many better options Dallas comparatively ...

The reason I am giving this a 3 is as follows: the food and overall experience is wonderful. Great appetizers and fresh menu. The wine and cocktail list was appealing and very reasonable with pricing. Now on to the bad - the wait staff is very friendly, however, very slow. Granted I was apart of a large party (6) but the time to get drinks, appetizers and main course was over 2 hours. The restaurant was not very busy, maybe 6 tables sat. I love the environment and the well prepared food. If they would have better time management when it came to food delivery and order taking I would ve given it a 5. Overall great experience but please do not be in a rush when you come here.

This review is a month late as I tried to avoid writing a bad review. We celebrated my husbands birthday here at dinner with about 20 people. Our server has very bad - aggressive, impatient and inattentive. The next day I called to speak with the manager and the manager had nothing to say but I apologise. Phone call was over pretty quick. Amongst us were servers, bartenders, restaurant owners - so we all knew this service was unacceptable! Extremely disappointing - marred our dinner and celebration. Even a month later friends keep recalling the horrible service.

Sunday brunch, service was slow even though the restaurant was not busy. When I was seated the table next to me called someone over to complain they hadnt received the coffee and drinks they had ordered. I ordered a drink from the bar and got it 10 minutes later. The menu is limited, and my friend ordered the shrimp and grits and we were told there was no more. Thats huge in a high end place, a significant menu item not being available and the brunch hour was not over. I had an $18 omelet that had maybe 5 chunks of potatoes as a side and a pile of bitter lettuce. Really disappointing overall. I was trying to give my friend a nice birthday brunch and it was super meh.

I m a very picky eater and rarely try new things. I had the chance to do so recently at Elm & Good and I was blown away. I tried the hush puppies and they were amazing - i ve never eaten pimento cheese, but gave it a shot and was not disappointed. I couldn t even tell you what that sauce was, but it was also delicious. Additionally, I tried a mix a drink from the bar which included coffee. It seemed like a very odd combination at first, but again it turned out to be quite tasty. My compliments to the chef and the entire team at the restaurant. I will definitely be back.
