We had veggie enchiladas and shrimp fajitas and brisket tamales and flautas. The chips and salsa and bean dip were quite good, too! I forgot to take photos, unfortunately. Vegetarian options: Wish they had more veggie options. I wanted chili rellenos, but they only came made with meat.

My family went to Urban Rio to celebrate a birthday, bringing our own cake. After we had finished our meal, we were told that there is a $2.00 fee per person to eat our cake there. I feel we should have been told about the policy as soon as we walked in. Since we were not, I think it would have shown goodwill for the restaurant if the manager had made an exception for us. But we left with the cake feeling it was a bad experience.

Our first visit. We chose upstairs to see what the hype was about. It was a mid Saturday afternoon and the staff was having fun, serving guests quickly, interacting and still getting the job done. We had drinks, tacos, quesadillas and dessert. From start to finish, ZERO complaints! What a fun place upstairs and a great meal! We will be back to dine downstairs or on the patio. Thank you Saturday staff for a job well done!

Im not one to easily spill the beans, but I must acknowledge when something deserves credit. Wednesdays are the prime time for a $3 happy hour deal crown and down or vodka at the rooftop bar. While Ive tried sitting downstairs, which is very nice, theres just something about the upstairs atmosphere that draws me in. It s nothing special, but being on top with garage windows when the weather is perfect is what it is! The food is tasty! The beef skewers are a staple for me. The stuffed avocado was tasty, just needed more crunch factor. But we have no issue calling some people, relaxing with a drink in hand with the staff that are cool, down-to-earth people. Cheers!

The food and drinks were great. Very tasty. Our service, however, was subpar. Our waitress, Haley, was not good at her job. She was not friendly. She did not greet us with a smile and enthusiasm. She greeted us as if we were an inconvenience to her. We had to get another waitresss attention several times due to her lack of attention to us. She was cold and impolite. She lacked manners of any kind. This kind of service causes me, as well as the friends that joined me, not to return to an establishment.

We ordered the guac to start with. I dont think its worth the price since you get free chips and salsa so next time, Ill be trying a different appetizer. The Birria Tacos were amazing! I wish it had more consome. You get maybe 2-3 tablespoons of it very small but it was still a great plate. The smore set was so cool and so good! Our Bartender/Server Toya, was Amazing. She was very honest about menu items, and just despite being so busy was very efficient. The frozen margaritas could have been stronger. The Beef Adobo Skewers Are The best thing on the menu I Think. They were bomb! Beans are made with Cinnamon flavoring, which . There was another girl that was suppose to be helping her with taking orders, but she was very hesitant in helping. So The service Star is For Toya. She built rapport the entire time and was very pleasant.

A friend and I tried this place for the first time and unfortunately will not be back. Portions are good. Food was kinda bland and near room temperature. We were somewhat in a hurry, so we just ate it as is since it wasnt a huge deal at the time but we later worried about it. Server was either high or just mentally checked out, but very friendly. The reason for the low rating is that my friend and I both got pretty sick that night and over the following weekend. This was the only place we had eaten together that day so we can only assume something was wrong with the food. We were disappointed as this place had very good reviews and we were hopeful for a good experience. Regardless, our experience was unfortunate but hopefully not a recurring theme for them.

Struggled between 3-4 stars. We went as a group and while I personally wasn t upset with the wait time as I had no afternoon plans and had a late breakfast (not really hungry), the ONE hour+ wait time to get food did not work for other ppl in my party who were starving, had to pick up kids from school or had to return to work. The food was really really yummy, server was nice despite some forgivable hiccups, cocktail drinks were overwhelmingly sweet.

Yo! This place was awesome. Very friendly staff. Everyone greeted our party and really set a positive experience. Our initial waiter was Justin. He was super chill and reached the end of his shift. We then had Manny, and he was even better. Great personality and attentiveness. We had the best nachos Ive ever had!! Loaded with steak, pico, jalapeño, and grilled onions. The cheese sauce was savory and creamy. Yum yum . Mushroom and bacon empanada big flavor with a kick of spice. I recommend it. Beef and cheese empanada also banging with flavor. Also recommend. Highlight for me was the roasted corn and crab enchiladas. I dreamt of them that night. They were so good. 10 out of 10! The atmosphere was great. Nice lively atmosphere, delicious food, good time. There are 2 levels at this place - the restaurant is on the 1st floor. And the Bar with Live Music is on the 2nd floor. The. My husband and I ate at Urban Rio Plano last week and we are going back next week. Highly recommend. I have a severe gluten allergy, and my husband is gluten free by preference. Denise, the manager, was SUPER attentive to us. She confirmed the dedicated fryer for ONLY gluten free things. The chips and salsa are really good, some of the best I have ever had, and I am obsessed with TexMex. The table bean dip was ok. The queso blanco is worth just going for it alone. We ordered the queso blanco and split the stuffed avocado. We were STUFFED. The stuffed avocado is extremely tasty. If you are getting tacos or anything with the cloud (crispy fried) onions, please make sure you tell them they need to be fried in the dedicated gluten free fryer. Can t wait to go back, TONS of gluten free on their menu! Dietary restrictions: I have a severe gluten allergy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND, see my above review for how to order tacos and the cloud onions. We have been going to Urban Rio for over 5 years, and I can honestly say, we have never had a bad meal no matter what we order! They have a diverse menu so not hard to find something new. Location and price were excellent, service was decent. Food was ok... Mole salsa was very good, queso was good... But the enchiladas needed more of the queso, there was some kinda in the middle but the tortillas were left exposed and dried out. For $25 for dinner including a margarita though... A few highlights: - Chips and Salsa were top tier - Drinks were phenomenal and reasonably priced - Steak tacos surprised for being a seasonal option - Service was engaged and friendly (shout out to Jay and give him a raise) Only a few negatives: - Queso was a little simplistic for my taste - Fajitas were simplistic but had excellent flavor. Tip option should include 15%, when you scan a card its 20% or above. The customer should decide if over 15. This is a new ongoing issue at many places. A large Verizon party was handled very well with multiple tables and multiple different types of requests for drinks and appetizers and food. The food was amazingly good with an incredible presentation. Our service was a tad bit slow, but there were 6 in our party and dropped a lot of drink requests, so that is mostly on us. Parking was extremely difficult to find, but thankfully the American Legions lot was open and only asking for donations that go 100% towards veterans needs. Decent place, just not my absolute favorite for Tex Mex. I take my Tex Mex seriously, especially with so many Tex Mex places and such amazing other offerings so close by. I really want to give it like 3.5 stars, so I errored in their favor. It is decent, just not my top place for price vs location vs anything else around that I absolutely love. I believe Urban Crust is also the same family of restaurants. Now that really is one of my absolute favorites for pizza.

Date Night VIBE CHECK Complete! Stellar Spot Seriously, go check out Urban Rio for date night, but GO UPSTAIRS! Youll enjoy the best edgy street view of Plano along with the train coming by. Great service at the bar chill clean vibes wonderful presentation We had light beer drafts, the frozen prickly pear magarita , a few shots, and the steak skewers. I forgot to snap photos, but wow! I hope you have a great experience like we did! We watched sports while there too and had a nice time.

We had a large group show up with no reservations and they accommodated us well. Great food. Great service. Some folks in the group highly recommend the corona margarita. I like the habanero salsa and try the s mores for dessert. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp and first floor options

Nice casual dinner, food is amazing and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our time here. Server was very attentive and friendly. They have open siting on second level and outdoor sitting too. Parking is directly in front of the restaurant. This is must go place for food lovers.

House of Horrors, everything was bad, we were served the wrong drinks twice, asked for a drink they cant make (Mexican martini) and they just brought a totally different drink, waiter had to take the menus to the kitchen and point to what we wanted, then we were served the wrong food dishes. By this time we just ate the wrong food we were so hungry. Finally, we were overcharged for items on the bill we did not order. Never again!! Much better choices out there

So I came In from Nashville and they have $6 coronaritas in Saturdays. Place was absolutely amazing. Only thing I don t like is the cinnamon bean dip. They dump cinnamon in the dip, and it just makes 0 sense. This place is worth going too and don t let this review jade that. Just know a person stood in their kitchen and thought, . Oh fun bean dip, let s add cinnamon . It is awful and if they read this, just take it out

My girlfriend from plano would go on and on about the place and sure enough it did not fail to impress, even more it exceeded my expectations. Sunday brunch, or evening date watching the sunset it is absolutely my favorite spot in downtown plano. I specially recommend the chicken and waffles its the perfect combination of savory and sweet! Stopped by for Friday night dinner! Place has very good ambiance. We were promptly seated. Ordered Nacho Libre, Chicken Tinga Enchiladas $ side rio rice. Nachos were plenty for two people and had plenty of cheese and toppings. Tasted good as well! Chicken Tinga Enchilada s were good too! Only disappointment was the rio rice that came with enchiladas and side order. Rice was rough bits and tasted sub par! Waitress was nice enough to remove rio rice from our check

The stuffed avocado is my favorite dish and this is the best place to get it. However, the last two times we have been here the service has been awful. Not a smile, not a refill without requesting it and very indifferent servers. This has only recently been the case but can t help wonder What has changed? . Last visit was a weekday and today a Sunday @ 1:30.
