Its really too bad. I hope all of the locations arent like this. 3 PM, no service, seat yourself, wait for someone to tell you to order at the counter when you couldve done so all along. Still expect a tip, Im doing all of the work. Salad was pure salt. Not salty, pure salt. Like someone forgot to tighten the lid and it all fell in. Wow. The pizza was good. Not 2019 good but good. Thats the only reason theres an extra star.

My husband and I got the chance to run out for a quick date and ended up here. Without a doubt we will return. Not only was the food fantastic but the the server Daren and the manager Pierre were friendly, attentive and all around fantastic. Peirre talked me in Italian style crab claws and I m obsessed and can t for the tiramisu. There was spaghetti and well as all around pizza as well. I was just too busy eating the crab claws to get a picture.

Great Italian restaurant!! We visited on a Friday evening around 430 and were seated quickly. Staff had very good customer service. The menu has something for everyone wether you like pizza, pasta or steak. The Artichoke Hearts were delicious!!!! They were perfectly cooked in garlic butter Joe s special garlic toast was a great appetizer! The BBQ Chicken Specialty Pizza was great. The pizza is thin crust. small size is perfect for 1-2 people. The medium is good for 2-3 people. For the price of the pizza I would probably order something different next time. By the time we left it was packed so I would make a reservation if you re planning on visiting at dinner time.

Stopped in for dessert right before closing time. The hostess and waiter were super friendly and courteous even though we walked in so late. I sat at the bar like normal. Bar tender was very rude and angry. This guy seems to always have a crappy attitude. He also caused a scene by raising his voice and cussing at what may have been a customer or someone picking up a delivery. Me and my buddies will be taking our business elsewhere.

Texas Italian! Very Good Price Points! My guess is that Campisis is popular because it is fast, fresh, very good price points and the staff is energetic and helpful. Makes for a good dining experience. What stood out was the Pizza and Joes Special Garlic Toast with Baked Provolone. Our group ordered a few pies, all requested to be made well done for that extra crispy crunch. Toppings included ham, pepperoni, hamburger, and mushrooms. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. No canned or jarred mushrooms here - nicely done Campisis! Joes Special Garlic Toast was better than anticipated with the baked provolone on top that provided some flavor depth. Next was Campisi s Italian Style Crab Claws, served sautéed in Campisi s special butter sauce. Made for a decent appetizer. I would like to see this poured over some fresh linguini. Would be dynamite. Others in our party ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and said it was good. Would like to revisit and try some other platters, some meatballs, pasta and desserts.

This place is so irritating. My family likes going here because of the pizza and usually the food is good, but more often than not I order something and its awful- like this time I got veal Marsala and it had no seasoning, even the pasta was bland like they didnt salt the water. Theyre very inconsistent, Ive had really good meals and just awful meals. Not to mention it isnt really a sit down place- you get seated but then youre supposed to go up and order and refill your own drinks. Maybe not the biggest gripe but still for the price Id expect sit down service. Finally the place is extremely dark and loud when there are a lot of people. It just feels very cramped. If youre looking for good Italian, skip this unless you like to gamble- maybe youll get a good meal, maybe not.

First off, to dark! I dont like to feel around for my food. Also, dont go for lunch. You have to order from a counter during lunchtime. Apparently, if you want a waiter, you cant get one until 4 pm. It is like those places that serve breakfast all day, but you cant get a burger until after 11. Stupid atmosphere. Stupid daytime service. Missed opportunities!

Jinny was our waitress and she was wonderful, she made great suggestions. Pizza was A+++ had angel hair pasta with shrimp and the pink sauce, was absolutely wonderful. Also tried the vodka sauce which goes great with the bread. My son had the lasagna and he loved it. This place is #1 on my list for Italian Food. Thanks Jinny!

This location does not have servers at lunchtime, but yet the prices remain the same. The food was below edible. The calamari was chewy and no flavor, the pasta sauce was super runny and the food was cold. My daughter had buttered noodles and somehow they ended up dry and tasteless. For over $50 for lunch, this was more than disappointing. We both left hungry and ate fast food afterwards. Never again.

My boyfriend & I are frequent Campisi s customers. Everytime, my boyfriend says it s the best Chicken Parmigiana he s ever had. The Italian Cream Cake is amazing as well. We have visited almost every location. We like to eat take out on Saturday nights, but we typically get food delivered instead of pick up. In order to get into our apartment complex for food deliveries, we know it is complicated & 99% of the time, we have to go & meet the delivery driver at their vehicle. Tonight, our delivery driver was the kindest & most respectful gentleman. We apologized on how confusing it was & told him we would be down shortly. He greeted us with a smile & apologized for us having to come down to get our food. We found out his name is Glenn & we will always request for him to be our delivery driver. Great service!! Great food!!

I wanted to eat veal cutlet parmesan, so I searched around the hotel and found it here, so I went there for lunch. The inside of the store is quite spacious with a counter area, table seats, and box seats. This shop seems to be often used for parties. Although it was lunch time, the inside of the restaurant was quite dark. It takes about 15 minutes to order the menu you want and wait. Salad, bread and main dish. A flat-fried veal cutlet with tomato sauce and lots of cheese. Next to it was the classic American dish of soft tomato sauce pasta that was not sufficiently drained. This dish definitely has a high-calorie junk feel to it. The foods I ate when I was little are still my favorites.

So I used to order delivery from these guys all the time but they raised their prices and since 2020 their delivery has been just awful. Usually 30-40 minutes later than what was expected, tonight they even lost our order. Great work. If you dine in, its usually decent, but you WILL be seated directly ontop of another occupied table so the noise builds up pretty quick Parking: Directly in front of the restaurant, shared lot with the other restaurants. I have eaten here a few times now and always come in for lunch. I usually get the pizza lunch special. Decent enough pizza for a quick lunch. Today I tried the calamari and was disappointed there were only rings and clearly frozen and not fresh. It came out soggy and undercooked so lady at the counter had it remade and out of spite the cook burned the heck out the second. Also ordered the lunch lasagna with salad. Salad was half dressing with starting to wilt lettuce and lasagna came out luke warm. Clearly a problem with the kitchen being lazy and spiteful. Make it right the first time because youre just going to have to make it again.

I spent about $75 last night for dinner and for the first time, really disappointed in the food. The crab claws were excellent as always but our eggplant parmesan was undercooked and crunchy. The menu said it would come with penne pasta and we got linguini with Alfredo instead. Salads were a bit warm, not sure how long they were sitting out. The sausage we got with our angel hair and meat sauce was really dry. Not saying I won t go back, just disappointed.

This place was a disappointment. We had two drinks which were just okay and ordered shrimp scampi and my husband ordered chicken scampi. The salad was not fresh and we got a huge plate of spaghetti with olive oil and parsley. It was not very good. I had to ask twice for bread. To top it off, when we got the bill, it was $75. I wouldnt recommend this place during the day. We went in the afternoon, and there was no one to greet us at the door, no server. It was just one person running the entire restaurant, and a few kitchen staff. Literally was basically self-serve except for the actually delivery of the food to our table. That being said. The food was delicious, and tasted fresh. The restaurant was relatively clean, although I did not go to the restroom this visit. I recommend this place for dinner as each time I have gone for dinner it has been a wonderful experience. Hopefully they will up their game for the day time.

Meh. Uninteresting Italian. Pitch dark at lunchtime. Salmon lunch took 20 minutes to bring it out. It was a little overcooked. Vegetables were uninteresting. Chicken fettuccini was nothing special. Lasagna was decent - red sauce is nice and thick but not enough flavor - too tomatoey. Toast bread was cold and not crispy. Sat out too long? I dont like their flat dry pizza. Its kind of a hidden spot by the boardwalk, but its definitely worth a try. Pricing is a bit high, but the portions are absolutely massive. One plate can easily feed two. My husband and I had date night tonight and was craving pizza so we decided to try Campisi s. We walked in and received such a warm welcome by the host and the manager Pierre. We were seated in a really nice booth. The atmosphere was amazing and we loved their music. Pierre the manager made two Mai Tai s for us because we were missing Hawaii. They were amazing with a little bit of Aloha. Thomas waited on us and he was so friendly and professional. But OMG!!!! The pizza was absolutely AMAZING. This is our new go to place for pizza and a great time. Can t wait to go back and try another dish. Thank you Pierre and Thomas for making us feel welcomed.

Dined here because my friend wanted the crab claws and she hadnt been to the restaurant in over a decade. We went there with high hopes after hearing about how long the restaurant has been in business. The atmosphere was your typical Italian decor and crowded, lots of families with kids. The tables are small and you feel cramped. Service was decent. Food wasnt special. In addition to the claws, we had calamari, sausage and peppers, scampi. My old fashioned was terrible. Overall it was fine, but I probably wouldnt go back there. Because of the amount of families and kids that come, its probably where they come for pizza and spaghetti.

My husband and I were both tired and didnt want to cook, so we ordered delivery. My husband ordered the chicken picatta, which he said was fine, and I ordered the chicken marsala. The chicken marsala was absolutely, hands down, the worst excuse for Italian food Ive ever had in my entire life. It was essentially a greasy bowl of chicken, mushrooms, and vaguely pink, milky pasta water. It had less than no taste - it tasted like almost-spoiled chicken and nearly dehydrated mushrooms were boiled together for a while with some pasta, drenched in olive oil, and then served with a couple of tablespoons of pasta water as a sauce. Salt and any kind of seasoning were notably absent. None of the pictures Ive seen of this dish on this restaurants page resemble what I got - they are only remotely similar in that the one forlorn piece of poultry I was given does indeed have a few leathery mushrooms and pasta as its destitute bedfellows. I rarely send food back and even more rarely write bad reviews, but this was a supreme disappointment.

Bad service, cold food that we waited way too long for with no apology and we had to ask for bread 3 times before finally getting it. I had thought that maybe they were short-handed, but at one point, 3 staff members were standing around, joking. I m very disappointed in this place. The only reason they re getting more than one star is because when the pizza is warm, it s good.

The hostess and person at register (lunch hours) is very rude.. Hispanic woman with black hair. She treated us as if we were a bother. She was very aggressive. No pleasantries. The cheese bread was not toasted at all... just bread with cheese on top. At the Dallas location, the bread is toasted. I asked about it and she quickly said, well, they (Mockingbird loc) have a different convection oven there. Crab claws were severely over boiled, tough and had no flavor as a result. I went to return them. I addressed someone else behind the kitchen counter bc my waitress/cashier was so rude. She spotted me, and yelled across the restaurant!! Loudly!!! Asking what I wanted. I asked her to please tell the chef so he/she knows. Her bearing told me there is not a chance she is going to address it with the chef. Worst service I have had in a long while. After serving food, she never came back until I approached her to tell her I was done. Spaghetti and meatballs were fine, but meatballs were over cooked a bit.

Ok so this use to be my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. I use to take people there and talk about it but let me say today was the worst. I stood at the door for 15 min no one spoke to me and after looking at me a few time the lady finally told me to come to the back, we ll ok no problem I have always done dinner never lunch. She tells me to get lunch it s cheaper I usually love the crab claws so I ordered crab claws and pizza with xtra cheese mushroom onion sausage. She did give me a free soda and was polite. Now you have to get your drinks your self which means sitting far away I would have to leave my food unattended where I can t see for a refill I still didn t care because I wanted my much anticipated food. When it came my pizza barely had cheese it was super dry and I had to pile salt Parmesan cheese and Pepe to give taste. The crab claws was not edible they where super tough and each bite had shells in and no flavor I had to squeeze lemon add salt etc. The side salad was soggy iceberg lettuce no flavor with 1 pepper and 1green olive. I decided it wasn t worth it no I did not ask for free food or anything I just asked got up walked to the back asked for a to go box after 10 min of not liking it and I asked if there was a new cook because I was looking Foward to bringing the family for my daughters birthday she asked why I explained the difference the last 2 times I came was not good she told me next time I come to talk to a manager I can probably get free. Sorry I don t eat bad food free or not I m a legit foodie I ll just leave my review and post on social media .

Dine-in 2022 I got the Pasta Combo and I thought it was delicious. Lasagna, Cheese Ravioli and Meatball were tasty. Pasta was al dente (perfect). I m still not a fan of the salad. Got a take and bake pizza to go. Delivery review. 2019 Having grown up in Highland Park, I get a hankerin for Campisis from time to time. The side salad is a disappointment. Lettuce with dressing, a pepperoncini and a green olive with a pit. But its only $4.25 so that makes sense I guess. The lasagna was bland, to be honest. The pizza has a distinct flavor - its nostalgic for me. The crust is really good too.

Three years ago I had pizza from here and it was the worst pizza I ever had and I swore I d never eat here again. Tonight against my better judgment I tried this dumpster posing as an Italian restaurant again. This time I ordered their chicken Marsala thinking that maybe their meals are better than their pizza, nope that s horrible too. $18 for a single tasteless chicken breast with like 5 mushrooms on a bed of cheap angel hair pasta is closer to robbery than it is food. I have had better food in my old school cafeteria than these people put out. How this place stayed in business let alone has multiple locations is the worlds biggest mystery. It takes a lot for my fiancé to not finish a fettuccini Alfredo and even she won t finish this trash. Worst Italian place in all of DFW and it s not even close.

Food and drinks were amazing!!! So many Options to choose from. Will have to try something new every time I come back. Well to a different location that is. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago I came to this location and had an AWFUL experience :-(( the cashier (Holly I believe it was) was SO rude, took her a while to take our order. Seemed to be a bit intoxicated (could even get a whiff of it when she exhaled) she made us repeat ourselves several times!! After dinner my boyfriend and I decided to stay for some drinks at the bar, hoping for a better experience WRONG! The bartender (Jake? Maybe Jacob) was cursing like a sailor! I get we all slip up but he clearly didn t care about it especially around other customers who had children. Not to mention when my boyfriend went to the restroom he began to flirt with me! I found it extremely inappropriate especially with the things he was saying if it wasn t for these two it would definitely be a 5 star rating!!!

This is a review for the location and it s staff. We will always love and cherish the food here! We have been going to campisis several times a year for extended family outings.. some of the elders since it was called the Egyptian. We will continue to do so at other locations. Always a large party and includes some kids. This location has repeatedly let us down. Never refills bread or drinks. Acts as if a bread refill for a table of 10+ is a ridiculous request. Does not explain the menu properly. Our waiter both times seemed inconvenienced by our presence. Even though I know for a fact his combined tip last time was higher than our $150+ bill. We just thought he was new and overwhelmed. But now we know that wasn t true because service was the same this last time. Should ve have to ask several times for service. At least we didn t have to get out of our chair to get a refill.. this time. Next time just open a buffet if you don t want to help the customer . I don t leave this review lightly. I just think management needs a serious audit at this location. Campisis pizza is something I could eat daily. It is mouth watering and nothing compares to it. But this location..

Always a great pizza experience if you like their style of pizza. plenty of toppings and right amount of cheese for their thin crust. The cut always has you eating more than you should since each slice is skinny. Will always remain in our pizza rotation as long as they are open and close by.

My shrimp pasta was so bland I had to doctor it up, the salad consisted of only iceberg lettuce, 1 olive and one peperocccini with a store bought packet of ranch and included the smallest piece of bread you could eat it in 2 bites. Not good for the price!

Mediocre dinner tonight. Had the pasta combo and it was just so so. Three types of pasta thrown on a plate and drowning in meat sauce. Expected to have three types of pasta but not just all piled together. Meatball and the lasagna once found were the highlights. Calamari and toasted ravioli were appetizers than were also over done. Might consider the other Plano location next time and choose another dish to eat.

I would rate it zero stars if I could. I ordered the dinner salad and a specialty pizza. Both very poor in quality. Worst pizza Ive had, especially the crust. I havent had any of the pastas but just from my experience with the pizza, I wouldnt come back.

My 3-star review has a lot to do with the overall experience. The cheese pizza I had was okay; it wasn t spectacular. The restaurant appeared to be clean, the waiting period was short, and the service was okay. Overall, I ll visit this restaurant again. My experience was just average. If you want a decent pizza for lunch, give it a shot! I didn t get pictures of my food but the ambiance here is nice!

The absolute worst. We had a long day of traveling and came in for a quick bite at 8:25pm. We were told they were no longer serving by a rude waiter. The place doesnt close until 9pm. You lost some potential loyal customers. If I could give zero stars, I would.

After being seated, waited over 10 minutes to at least be APPROACHED by a server... Nothing...crickets. And waiter right behind us or passing right by our table. We finally gave up! Being in the business myself, I know staffing shortages are tough but at least Hi Im your waiter. Ill be right back to get your drink order...better than nothing! ( Hostess was nice though.)

I ve loved Campisi s for a long time but enough is enough. Ravioli and lasagne were absolutely awful tonight. Ravioli was like eating hard little hockey pucks and Lasagna was so overcooked it was sad. We usually get pizza but par for the course, they were out of our regular toppers. Sad to see this is how it s fallen.

Took my mom and daughter here to eat. Walked in at 3pm and the waitress/host tells us it s going to be a 45 min wait for lunch ..there was NOT ONE CUSTOMER and I m not exaggerating. There was no one in there sitting down. That leads me to believe they are either picking and choosing when they want or don t want to work or some other underlying reason which I won t waste time getting into which either way is bad business and ridiculous.

We visited the original location a few months ago and fell in love. The pasta, atmosphere, and service was amazing. We tried this location on our way through Dallas. I was really excited to have the same experience, but obviously that was a mistake. The atmosphere was great, just as I expected. The food was good, but nowhere near the quality of the original location. The service was pretty bad as well. The server took our order and brought us our food, but that was it. No drink refills, didnt ask how anything was. Once the food was set down, we didnt even see her again until she brought the check. I would understand if the place was packed, but that wasnt the case. Guess Ill stay with the original location. Its a shame that they dont have the same standards.

My sister and I stopped by for an early dinner today. When we arrived, there was only one other party at a table. Fairly soon after being seated, however, the place began to get very busy. Jacob, our waiter, was AMAZING! He took care of everyone in the restaurant, on his own, in an efficient and extremely positive attitude. He was wonderful! Eventually, a couple of other employees arrived and were able to provide assistance to the growing number of guests, but my sister and I could not stop commenting on what a hard worker Jacob was in handling so many guests on his own for quite some time. Great job Jacob!

My wife and I had heard good things about the food at Campisi s and came in from out of town to stop in. The food was not awful and we didn t mind having to seat ourselves and counter order or anything like that. We actually enjoyed the staff at the restaurant and thought they were friendly and attentive. The food was just average. I would give it another shot and maybe order pizzas, but I wouldn t rush back.

Went for lunch and ordered the pasta combo plate because I couldnt decide what I wanted. Ended up very disappointed. My plate was an unappealing mountain of sauce and i couldnt tell where one pasta dishes started and the other endes. The spaghetti was haphazardly slapped on top of the lasagna and ravioli and the whole plate was drowned in a watery lake of sauce that tasted like a cheap can of prego. The meatball was flavorless and I wouldnt say it was undercooked but, it definitely wasnt done cooking. The garlic cheese toast was just cold and soggy and looked like it had been prepared hours earlier and the only thing you could taste from the lasagna was the low quality ricotta cheese.

We were pretty disappointed in Campisi s. We ordered chicken piccata, the pasta trio, fettuccini alfredo, spaghetti with red sauce, and fried raviolis. All-in-all the quality of the food was pretty much just a a step up from Fazoli s (fast food Italian). But even Fazoli s bread is better. The chicken piccata was so flavorless. It s touted as a lemon butter caper sauce but had zero lemon favor, and the butter must be unsalted because there was not even salty flavor. The chicken was decent but the fact that it was served on a bed of essentially dry, barely oily angel hair, it was underwhelming. The pasta trio was okay. Everything was the same flavor spaghetti and red sauce, lasagne with red sauce, ravioli with you guessed it, red sauce. The meatball did actually have flavor. This was the best entree we had. The kids ate the fettuccini and spaghetti. They thought it was good but they re used to eating school lunches. Save your money and get authentic, high-flavor Italian food some place else.
