My wife and I have been coming here once or twice a month for the last five years, almost always for dinner. Excellent (in my opinion) food and service. Our particular favorites are the chicken tikka masala, beef Punjabi and aloo baigan, all with a spiciness level of 3 out of 5 (sorry, we just cant take the full-on flamethrower 5/5 heat.) If you like garlic, the garlic naan is also delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The buffet is well priced with paneer saag and naan bread being the best. The following are my observations. Daal Makhni had no Makhni. Malai kofta had no malai and the gravy was nothing but tomato puree. Rice pudding had no saffron (which is the main flavor). Gulab Jamun was overcooked and didn t have taste and right texture. Seemed like it was made with cheap mixes from the market. Samosa had good stuffing but was way too oily. I wish the owner considers the authentic taste and not just cost saving. Overall it s a decent Indian food place and if improvements are made to the taste and quality it will be great.

Visited monday around noon. This is a great place for vegetarians with Punjabi flavors. Unfortunately many of the dishes at the buffet were cold including the chicken and fish which was slightly concerning. (Also, I m not sure if they are using proper heat lamps). I do appreciate the fresh naan that was brought to the table with several dessert options. (Interestingly, they also served salad and ranch next to their sauce section.)

Visited on 22-07-2024 Time :- 6:15 pm I recently visited Maharaja restaurant for the first time and ordered Gobi Manchurian. Unfortunately, I found a tiny spider in my dish. When I reported this to the staff, the chef claimed that it wasn t there when the dish was prepared. Im perplexed by this response. How can the chef be certain of what might have happened during the entire preparation and serving process? We asked to call the manager but the staff said that there is no chef today !! How can it be possible ? This raises serious concerns about the restaurants hygiene practices. I hope they take immediate steps to improve food safety standards to prevent such incidents in future.

Maharaja is now my go-to restaurant to satisfy my chicken tikka masala addiction. A good masala will leave you feeling great after you finish, and this ones a winner. And their garlic naan tastes most fantastic when you dip it in the masala. I recommend you do this. This place is great in all sorts of ways. Gigantic menu of healthy food, very friendly service, family vibe, lunch buffet and the decor is pleasant and tasteful. A lot of dishes come out super quick, such as the aforementioned chicken tikka masala. Its really easy to pop in and pick up something to go. Why bother pre-ordering in some app when it comes out so fast anyway? And its pretty fun to ask them about their FIVE spice levels. I also recommend you do this.

As a Brit that relocated to the UK, we ve struggled to find a good Indian restaurant here - but this was incredible. The spiciest vindaloo I ve experienced since I moved here, it was incredible. Papadums were amazing (papad as you call it here) and the garlic naan and simosas - I could eat them all day. Highly recommend, will 100% order again. Ruined everything for us due to the PEANUTS they add in their butter masala and masala is one of the most popular food non-Indians crave for. Those who have peanut allergies, heads-up!!! Not sure why they add peanuts it would reduce your customers to those who don t have peanut allergies and also in my family s opinion only the taste is strange with the peanuts. Still good but strange. Much better without it.

I recently dined at Maharaja in Plano, Texas, and it was an exceptional experience. I rate it 5/5 for the food, service, and atmosphere. The food was outstanding, with a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes that were both flavorful and perfectly spiced. The lunch buffet, priced at a very reasonable $14.99, offered a great selection, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, ensuring there was something for everyone. The service was top-notch. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. They went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere at Maharaja is inviting and elegant, with tasteful décor that enhances the dining experience. It s a perfect spot for both casual lunches and special occasions. Overall, Maharaja is a gem in Plano, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Indian cuisine in a warm and inviting setting.

Love love love the food and the people! The food is delicious and they give excellent suggestions on what to try next based on if the dish was a little more spice than you like or a completely different flavor!! Ive tried quite a few different Indian restaurants but this one is by far my favorite due to the range of spice levels on the buffet and the staff that is always so helpful! Parking: Always easy parking that is close if not right at the door. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly environment and the staff is very knowledgeable about their foods and can accommodate spice free dishes for the kiddos. Chicken Koorma is my favorite no spice dish. My kids prefer butter chicken.

On what I hope to be our final trip up to Plano for my sons broken leg, we decided Indian food sounded great after his appointment. Maharaja came up high in my google-fu, so we decided to check it out. Small, unassuming buffet in a strip mall. We were immediately seated, and set about investigating the buffet. Admittedly, its not a huge buffet as buffets go, but its got all the standards-- samosa, pakora, complementary Naan bread served fresh at your table, a modest salad bar, and the usual fare: Chicken Tikka Masala, saag paneer, chicken vindaloo, tandoori chicken, etc. It was all very tasty. Less usual, the buffet also had some chicken kebab, vegetable biryani, and some of the most tender, tastiest goat curry Ive ever had (disclaimer: this basic white guy has had far more than his fair share of goat, being married to a Mexican girl). Several vegetarian options, a fried fish dish, and a decent selection of desserts. Look, Im really not a hard guy to please. I mean, I pretty much only give five star reviews. But weve been looking for a good Indian buffet for a while now. The options so far have been either overpriced or the food was just meh. But this place was outstanding, and I really mean it! Great food, friendly service, and a surprisingly great price for the lunch buffet! I need to get my son into full contact horse wrestling or something so he breaks another bone so we have an excuse to come back!

Ordered take out from this restaurant last night - our first time to sample their cuisine. Overall, the place appeared to have a nice quiet ambience. But for New Years Eve we felt take-out would be better. Overall the food was pretty good. Nearly everything was wrapped in aluminum foil to prevent leaks, much appreciated but please write a note outside so we know which is which. The portions are relatively generous. And we got three cups each of a sweet and a savory chutney. Two tubs of raita. The lamb biryani was spicier than I traditionally get which leads me to a suggestion for them. Please give your customers a spice level option. Moreover, the lamb pieces I ate so far were all bone pieces, not much meat. Its rare to order lamb dishes without getting the occasional bone but its appreciated when its removed. The chicken samosa was good, the veggie pakora was very nice but a bit too spicy for my son. The raita was a bit more liquid than Im used to, not thick like a cream but the flavor was yummy anyways. The papad was lightly spicy and crispy. I will be back to sample more.

Maharja has been my favorite restaurant for catering for my home parties and I recently ordered food from them for a count of 30 at my Diwali Party. Coming from Delhi and a foodie and from a family of incredible cooks passionate about food, am always on a lookout for delicious and consistent north Indian food! Maharaja outdid itself this time. From placing the order on phone to delivery to serving and keeping food warm to calling it a wrap, Mandip (from Maharaja) made it seamless and deliciously flawless. She arrived sharp on time, had brought her burners, serving spoons etc., organized the food, had attention to detail to presentation, ensured it stayed warm and took care of wrapping up after the party. Every single guest loved the food and couldnt stop raving about it - Hara Bhara Kebab, Panneer Tikka and Dahi Vada in appetizers, Dal Makhni, Kadi, Aloo Gobhi and Paneer Makhni in Main course, along with Onion Kulcha, Garlic Naan, rice, Raita, onions and Rabri Jalebi, Mango Kheer and Gulab Jamun in Dessert! All of it was awesome, but Kadi, Jalebi, Kebab, onion kulchs were the biggest Hits! Fresh, delicious and quality food! I want to take a moment and call out Mandip for being super diligent, fast, ever smiling and single handedly managing the show from end to end! I didnt have to worry about food at all and could spend time with my friends and family.

We got a to go order for chicken Shahi korma, lamb biryani, some breads, dahi bhalla, and ras malai. The only thing we ended up liking were the breads, which is such a low bar. We had such high hopes based on other reviews, but the food was very disappointing. Chicken Korma tasted of stale almonds and burnt gravy, didnt taste any spices as the bad flavors were so overpowering. Biryani was rice mixed in with lamb gravy, where lamb was undercooked, and the whole dish was just too wet. Dahi bhallas were dry, and green chutney was mixed in the whole thing. Dahi bhallas originally is prepared with tamarind chutney only. And if you want to add your own touch, provide the chutneys separately so customers can add what they want. And lastly the ras malai, was just average.

This restaurant is in our neighbourhood and we went for first time. Options are good to order from. Complete North Indian cuisine. We had Kashmiri malai kofta and keema mutter. Came with basmati rice in decent portion . Tandoori roti was made of aata unlike other place where nan and roti has no difference. Curry tasted delicious nice North Indian place to eat at .

Would give negative stars if I could. The place had a weird smell when I stepped in (I should have taken the sign). Found a dirty plate (Again SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE HINT). The lunch buffet items tasted disgusting and some things tasted like nothing (literally). Just go somewhere else unless you have no other option at all.

Given my familys normal favorite spot for Indian food is about 30-45 minutes away, we decided wed order from Maharaja since its very close to us. Ive dined there twice in the past but it had been a while since I have last dined there. This restaurant usually has a buffet which makes selecting food easy, I chose the tandoori chicken and naan due to me having a food allergy to all nuts. I was reassured that there would be no nuts in what I ordered as well which put me at ease. Once we got our food home it was delicious, everything was fresh and tasted great, the spice was just right and not overwhelming like some places do with their buffet. I also did not get any allergic reaction which was a very nice plus. Overall it was a good meal and Ill be back for more soon.

We order off the very plentiful menu, so many options, with the help of VERY friendly staff. The food was AMAZING, the prices were amazing. The atmosphere was authentic. I highly recommend the this Indian cuisine! Honestly, the best Indian cuisine I ve had. I wish I took pictures to help, but I was to busy eating. You won t be disappointed. Oh yeah, the service was great, not like your typical American server.

PLEASE get off of Uber Eats if you are not going to even LABEL your food. I get my order home and it is a nightmare for my family and vegetarian daughter. When I went back to look on Uber Eats, I realized there weren t even any pictures to help me figure it out! Otherwise the food had good portions and was tasty.

Ive primarily been to Maharaja for the lunch buffet for the last 4 years. Its reasonably priced and humble in its offerings, but theyre delicious! There is a modest salad bar with chutneys, a very nice selection of rice, entrees and side dishes with rice pudding and gulub jamun for dessert at the end. Service was attentive. The best aspect of the buffet was that they changed out the serving trays if the contents had been sitting out for a while. If the lunch buffet is this good, then their normal menu must be amazing. Ill need to finally order an evening meal from them. Vegetarian options: Like every Indian restaurant, they offer a great selection of vegetarian dishes.

Very bad experience. There was a poor response from the manager and the service staff - they treated this as if they were giving free food, and their service style and response was very rude. There is no peace of mind when it comes to food, with customers constantly asking for urgent service - they should close their restaurant and allow people to only order for takeout. There is no worth to the food as they charge for it at 30$ - only sweets are good.

Wow, just wow! I have never, ever tried such good-tasting Indian food in recent months. The price was perfect ($16.18 for the buffet), the quality was excellent, and the taste was phenomenal! Every single bite was delicious! It was my first time there today, 3/4/23. The owner was warm and welcoming. Thank you for your fine food and service, namaste!

If I could I would give 0 ,I would ! bland bland food and being an Indian cuisine why keeping beef ? Such a turn off ..kills the appetite. Even if you gather courage to eat ...entire food on buffet was colorful but devoid of salt and basic flavour. Stop selling beef in an Indian restaurant plus get some flavor
