I came with 4 other guys from my connect group. None of us had ever been but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was really attentive and helpful. We were able to try the duck even though we did not pre-order ahead of time. Everything we got was delicious. Minor complaint about how small the portion was for the calamari but everything else made up for it. The duck was good and the soup they made with the non-skin part was even better. All in all we will be back with the rest of our families.

The food here was hit or miss, some of it had no flavor as if they did not season it. Crispy cucumber was good, not great. The first beef dish I had was really good but Im not sure what its called, the beef literally melted in your mouth. Prices are a bit high. I think i paid like $20 for a beef dish with coriander and some sort of tortillas to build wraps. This looked great but had zero flavor.. like eating nothing and not in a good way. Egg drop soup might have been good im not sure because it had no salt and there was no salt at the table to add it yourself.. so once again no flavor. My daughter had orange chicken and it was good but she did not like it much said it tasted like lemon and it did sort of. I think its a bit less sweet than what shes used to, i was fine with that. My wife ordered the fried pumpkin w/ salted egg yolk for about 20 dollars and it was ok but bland not enough seasoning and no dipping sauce came with it? Who is eating this without dipping sauce?? Fed it to my chickens. I feel like it can be great depending on what you order and make sure to ask for salt or soy sauce for the table. Service and atmosphere was great. I will say the food here was significantly better than the last chinese restaurant I went to Awesome Chinese Cuisine. Maybe slightly worse than Chongqing House. Royal Sichuan is still my favorite but quality has been going downhill for a while now so I been looking around for better options. Royal sichuan is cheaper than all of them i think unless that has changed as of recently. Oh yea also my daughter has been ordering the eggs and shrimp at every asian place and here they only had shrimp by itself so it was an unseasoned plate of very small steamed shrimp. With no soy sauce or seasoning at the table who eats steamed shrimp like that? That was very disappointing.

This has to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in North Dallas. The Beijing roasted duck is to die for, but please note it does take time to prepare if you order at the table. You can call in advance to order. I would recommend at least one hour before you come in, also they only serve about 30 ducks a day, so you don t wanna miss out on this specialty. The flat noodles are very good along with the beef shank & tripe in chili. Prices are very reasonable and it s also BYOB if you want to bring your own beer or wine. Service was excellent as they were very attentive to your needs. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again soon.

We were so impressed with the service and food! Peking duck is so worth it! It is also a zero waste meal. They slice the meat table side for you, then go to the back and cook the rest in a soup and give you that as well! We also had the a-choy greens and it was super tender and flavorful. We watched the owner go around to every table making sure their experience was enjoyable. You can tell she really cares about her restaurant and the customer s experience. We will definitely be back again soon!!

We found ourselves at Royal Kitchen for a weeknight dinner this evening and enjoyed one of the best Chinese meals we have had in Dallas ever. I ve been to royal kitchen five times this year and I can say it s one of the best restaurants for Chinese food. Though I haven t tried all their menu items I can confidently say their fried rice is superb with fresh egg, and peas. The general Tso chicken is flavorful and crispy, and the sesame chicken is very good as well. The time before last they gave me free soup and wonton chips! Also the Jasmine tea comes out golden with a strong aura that solidifies its high quality. Aside from the food what s even better is their service, to be quite honest it s the best I ve seen anywhere! Every waiter is friendly and pleasant to be around, they smile and continue to check on you even if you re alone. Another cool aspect of the restaurant is how you order food. It s done through a tablet and if you wanted to place an order or add something to your table there s no need to flag down one of the staff. I would recommend Royal Kitchen to anyone visiting the Dallas area

I went specifically for the Ma Po tofu and it was far beyond my hopes. The tofu was soft, yet firm enough to easily be eaten with my clumsy left-handed American chopstick skills. The sauce was perfectly spicy and built up to a four sneeze finale. It was a nice accompaniment to the hot and sour soup that was slightly more hot than sour. An order of shu mai helped temper the heat of the other dishes. The location is a bit unfortunate as the store front faces a large Tom Thumb parking lot rather than Parker or Independence so its not easy to notice driving by. Once inside, the decor is simple, but clean and comfortable. A TV was airing a documentary about plants in Chinese that I didnt understand, but enjoyed watching.

Today my daughter and I were going to try the roast duck from Royal Kitchen. We had read that everyone had given it high reviews, but unfortunately the roast duck was off the shelves, so we had to order three other dishes. I have visited many restaurants in Dallas, and this is A pure Beijing-style restaurant opened by a Beijing boss. I am a pure Beijinger and I have the best say. Among the three dishes, the whole fish steamed pancake is good. I give it five points. It s just that the soup will be a little more hot and the pancake will be hotter. Double the amount would be more. The fish-flavored eggplant is also very good. It s not too sweet like other restaurants. It s just right. The only drawback is the Beijing sauce duck. I don t know why the boss changed the Beijing roast duck to sauce duck. There are only a few places in Dallas that make Peking duck and they are always full of people. I have eaten almost all the roast ducks in Dallas, and it can be said that none of them are authentic. They are not as good as a third-rate restaurant in Beijing. The portions are insufficient, and the price of duck slices is not disclosed. Its on the high side, and some are even half-cooled. To be honest, Dallas has done a bad job of making Peking duck, so I hope that Gege Mansion can continue to make roast duck. If it does well, everyone will have their own opinion, and the restaurant will naturally be full of customers. I didn t try many dishes this time. I will go there often in the future. The proprietress is very enthusiastic. I give it a 50% thumbs up.

Unfortunately, after a few minutes, I was informed that the Chicken Dumplings were not available. The Hot and Sour Soup was decent, though not outstanding. Despite requesting more garlic in the Egg Fried Rice, it turned out too bland. The Chicken Egg Roll arrived after we had finished our entrée. When we asked about the status of the rolls, the waitress became visibly upset and said they were making them fresh. However, it was apparent that the rolls were frozen, likely sourced from Restaurant Depot. Overall, the experience was underwhelming, but there were a few redeeming aspects.

The best beef noodle soup we ever had. As system consultants we travelled to different Cities within US, including Las Vegas. This is way better than the one from Vegas where chefs showing of their hand pulling noddle skill. This restaurant offers real authentic and great dishes. As a middle age Asian guy who always avoid Sugar and MSG but cannot give up the authentic and great dish, I stumbled upon this restaurant and it can offer safe, tasty and authentic dishes.

I had a delightful dining experience at this charming mom-and-pop restaurant that serves regional Chinese dishes with a unique twist. The highlight of my night was the salted egg pepper flounder fillets. They were incredibly crispy and rich on the outside while being flaky and moist on the inside. Remarkably, the fish remained crispy for the entire hour we were there, which is a rare feat for salted egg yolk fish fillets that usually turn mushy quickly. This one was absolutely eggcellent. Another standout dish was the seafood with Japanese tofu. The sauce had an in-depth umami flavor with a pleasant aftertaste, perfectly complementing the textures of the crunchy veggies, al dente shrimp, and slightly crisp crust and silky egg-based tofu. Honorable mentions go to the stir-fried lotus roots, which were flash wok stir-fried with light oil and retained their crispiness, and the beef in dry pot from the northern cuisine, which had the perfect level of heat and numbness for our palates. Overall, all the dishes had the right balance of texture, umami, and natural slight sweetness, with some offering a mild spicy kick for the modern palate. The food is fantastic if you aren t a purist and appreciate a balanced approach. For example, the braised beef and tofu dish are not traditionally spicy in the Cantonese world but it was a great addition of spice to cut through the thick sauce, while the beef in dry pot offered a manageable level of heat compared to Sichuan or or scorching Hunanese versions. We visited when it wasn t too busy, and it was a three-person operation at the time with Auntie waiting tables, a cook running food, and a chef. They were very nice and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. We are looking forward to try their dim sum.

I called prior to ordering if they have Szechuan chicken, the lady said they had something similar called chongquing chicken. Well let me tell you what a mistake I made. That dish was nothing like Szechuan chicken. I am thinking it was a language barrier or something. Unfortunately I ordered takeout and by the time I got home and see it was too late. The portion size was small, dry with no sauce took one bite and threw it in the trash. All my family members said it was garbage. This place is overpriced and overrated. Customer service though was on par. I wont be back after

My friend told me about this place that they have Peking duck with crispy skin served with wraps/pastry sheets instead of buns. It was really good. This is the only Chinese restaurant so far i tried in DFW that makes less oily food, less/no MSG, less sodium but still tasty. The owner and staff are more senior, friendly and they accommodated all of our requests for chilli paste and fresh chilli (normally they dont offer these at Chinese restaurants). Highly recommended!!!

The service, chef, and reception at this restaurant are the worst. They don t properly check orders and notify you that the food is ready for pick-up even when they haven t started cooking it. After receiving a pick-up notification and arriving at the restaurant, they insisted there was no order, only to later confirm there was and that they would start cooking it then. So I revisited them 20 minutes later, they had only prepared one of the two items without even checking the full order. Despite an initial mistake, they failed to rectify the situation and made another error. There were no other customers at the time. The staff simply yelled at the chef without taking proper action to address the issue. If you don t want your time wasted, go somewhere else. There are plenty of other nice and good restaurants around.

Royal Kitchen 5-11-24 I am a professional home chef and caterer. At the first opportunity in seeking out new cultural fare and restaurants I find myself starting the engine and ready to explore. On a recommendation from a friend, I chose the Royal Kitchen located at 3100 independence parkway in Plano, Texas. My husband and I went on a Saturday around 11:00 am. Travel time was inordinately quick. A pleasure! We were greeted with welcoming smiles and thank you s for choosing to dine there. The new owner Rene was in every way a delight. As we arrived an hour after opening seating was immediate. Each table is provided an electronic menu which was a breeze to navigate. One we selected our choices we hit send and our order was sent directly to the open glass kitchen. Our choices were 1. Sliced pork, black mushrooms, peppers and chilis in a garlic sauce. 2. Pork egg rolls 3. Crab Rangoon 4. Pan fried dumplings Attention to service was impeccable. The owner came back to our table with our food. Serving size was enough to feed 2-3 people. The pork dish was beautifully presented and each bite lit up our palates. Very tasty dish and quite spicy. (The chili s) made a nice addition. The crab Rangoon, egg rolls and dumplings were equally as good. On a personal note, I spoke to the owner after she came back to our table to see if all was what we expected. I did tell her the crab Rangoon could use an additional ingredient, scallions to elevate a more pungent flavor. She was not offended but stated she would try it on the future appetizers. We had no complaints whatsoever. In fact, we were planning our next visit as we were leaving. She asked where we traveled from and was humbled when we told her. As this is a brand new restaurant just starting out we wished her well and told her I would write a review. She hugged me! I give them 4 .. stars. A must try. Wonderful experience.

Edit: So Ive given this restaurant multiple opportunities (both dine-in & take-out) since theyre fairly new & have been struggling, but this time is the last time. Last time we got take out, they handed our order to a different customer & offered no apologies. This time, Renee told me to text my order to a different number. Had to follow-up to make sure it was received & was put on hold & asked repeatedly how long the order would take. When she wouldnt tell me & told me to check my text, I told her I could not read Chinese & asked if she could just tell me since we were already on the phone. If they were busy & couldnt take my order, that was fine & I could go elsewhere. She responded back Fine, you decide. 45 minutes. So I decided. Ill take my business across the street to East Wall or Lucky City where its a straight forward ordering process with standard 20 minute wait time & no mystery on how long itll take. ------------------ Tried the dim sum during the soft opening. Heres what we ordered: - preserved egg/pork congee - spare rib rice noodle - rice noodle with shrimp & scallion - garlic crispy chicken - shrimp balls, chicken feet, Chinese broccoli - pork cabbage dumpling, shu mai, fried taro & turnip cakes If you want the traditional whole shrimp in the rice noodle, order J1 shrimp rice noodle. We didnt know & ordered J4 rice noodles with shrimp & scallion, which comes with the small dried shrimp instead. Service was attentive given the amount of staff & restaurant traffic. The food was fresh but flavoring could use a little more depth & fine tuning, such as making sure food items are thoroughly cooked. Owner was sweet & wanted honest feedback to improve the quality of the food. She offered us mango pudding to try out for dessert. Wish them much success & well come back to try the non-dim sum menu items.
