I dont know why I go here. Probably because its close. The meat is ALWAYS overcooked and rough to eat. The flavor has also gone downhill. I suggest driving a few extra miles unless you like eating rubber. Bit to each his own. Hell...Ive heard people say HEB has great Chinese food. No....they dont. You can try them both and decide for yourself but in my opinion...neither one is good

Unexpectedly delicious! Hidden treasure. Cajun shrimp fried rice is amazing. Super fresh food.Salt n pepper fish is super tasty. I would definitely recommend eating there to get it crispy. Small dining room but clean. Vegetarian options: All veggie stir fries. Rice, lo mein.

My family used to love this place. But, lately their food is starting to taste different. Im not sure if its old and theyre reheating their noodles? Last night we picked up dinner to-go and their chicken lo mein tasted sour. The noodles were over cooked and the whole dish tasted completely off a it even smelled bad. We ended up throwing the dish away. They dont fill up their sweet/sour cups anymore and the sweet/sour chicken was overcooked the past two times we had their food. I think we will give it one more try before we call it quits on this place. Plus, the portion sizes compared to the price doesnt match up anymore.

I was going over the reviews and overall the way they do customer service us horrible, someone else in the reviews had the same issues with Mariela, she needs alot work on her manners. Food is good but they should be more careful on who is in the front counter. also yes the music and them singing along is not pleasant for whoever dines in.

We went at dinner hour and we were only ones there. Food was less than average. I had an egg roll and found out after we got our food I had to buy the sauce to dip it in!! As we left, the workers were so busy chatting they couldn t even say thank you. We just moved here today from the Midwest. Maybe it s a Midwest thing to be courteous to a customer?Also, it was loud and not an enjoyable place. They also had time to run out the door and chat with friends that pulled up. Needless to say, we won t be back.

Seeing all these nit-picking reviews is so sad.... just because a place doesnt tend to your every need or doesnt have top tier laying down for you to stomp on them service, doesnt mean it isnt great food.... learn to review or dont review at all. This place has great food and a decent staff.... the food is what ppl go to and will continue to go to. Everything else doesnt really matter, and if it does to you, then move on and be done with it. My go-to is the lo-mein with veggies and beef, an off menu dish that is just my favorite.

Man the Fried Rice from here is delicious!, Finally found a replacement for House of China ever since it closed down. This place is great!, it may take a while to get your order but that is because of the amount of orders they receive which goes to show how good their food is. Food is great as you can see by my 5 star rating, atmosphere is also great. My only concern and overall low grade is the service. Staff is polite most of the time, but if they get a small rush, they are somewhat lost. One thing that never fails is that whenever you get your order to go, expect some of the sauce to be in the bag itself, depending in what you order of course. If its something like the Chicken with Almond that has sauce, then its always in the bag. Why do I bring this up, well, because more than once has that sauce ended up on my vehicle seats. You would think I learned my lesson and put a paper or some sort of absorbent under the bag you say, well, whos responsible for, either the bag being leak proof, or ensuring the sauce does not transfer to the plastic bag. But regardless, the sauce never stays in the plate. Now, before you jump into conclusions, the sauce is in the bag, and out of the Styrofoam plate from the get go. The bad thing is that one forgets since I dont go daily, so I dont notice it until the sauce is on the seat. Over all, I will recommend this restaurant, food is great, atmosphere is great, just be careful with the SAUCE MONSTER.

I usually order to go(place my order over the phone) BUT today I actually got down to order and I literally walked out as soon as I saw the cooks grabbing lo mein with their bare hands NO GLOVES or tongs, grabbing chicken pieces with their BARE HANDS!!! Noisy place due to Mexican music blasting from the kitchen conflicting with pop music piped into the dining area. You place your order and pay at the counter and they call your name when its ready. The dining room seats 25 max. Everything was packaged to-go. My curry chicken was good, filled with pea pods, carrots and onions. The refried rice was okay (no peas or carrots). The egg roll had a good flavor but its casing was very chewy. The hot and sour soup was so spicy that my husband couldnt eat it. I tolerated it with a bite of rice after each spoonful. When asked if he liked his beef & broccoli, my husbands response was its better than not having anything to eat. Not an overwhelmingly positive review. We wont be back.

I usually dont fuss over customer service, but my experience at this restaurant was so bad, I have to warn others. The employee, Mariela, wearing a pink Under Armour hoodie, was unbelievably rude. She had this look of total disinterest, and every interaction, from her sour facial expressions to the way she gave my card back, was downright disrespectful. Ive never felt so unwelcome in a place before. It completely ruined my meal and my day. Honestly, stay away if you dont want your mood spoiled by terrible service.

Food is prepared as you order it, so its always piping hot. I like that their plates come with an entree, soup, lo mein or rice & an egg roll. I usually have 2 meals off 1 plate. Con: the lo mein doesnt have the veggies that I enjoy and most all other restaurants include. Last time, I asked them to add the veggies (carrots, onion, etc) that usually come in lo mein, but they added them to the entree instead. I guess I should have been more specific and checked my order before taking it to go.

Food is 4star. But its obvios that the Pharr location does not really want you to dine in. Limited seating and a warm 77 degrees inside making it very stuffy. Good food, but uncomfortable seating area because of metal chairs and warm inside. Might be great on one of our very few cold days. Suggestions to the owners. Get Softer chairs for your dining area, and maybe run the A/C a few degrees cooler for working folks that either cant drive home for lunch or dont want to eat at their desk.

Great local fast casual Chinese. Decor is nice and modern on the inside for a strip mall location. Standard menu selections and non standard noodle offering was a surprise. Food is always delicious and fresh but strong scent of sewage is always present. As soon as you walk in, it hits you hard, maybe use clean towels when cleaning tables or stronger extractors in the restrooms? The R&B/ hip hop music in the dining area is pleasant to listen to while eating, except for the fact that sometimes the spanish music coming from the kitchen is even louder than the dining music. Its unpleasant having two different songs or even types of music playing loudly at the same time. The enormous windows are a great way to distract yourself from your thoughts while eating, but they also bring in alot of heat into your dining area, maybe having the A/C a little lower can help your customers eat a little more comfortably, we are already sweating from your hot foods.

I wanted to try something knew with the kids so we decided to try Papa Lees. When we walked in the first thing we noticed was the environment. The restaurant is super clean, the music is awesome. I liked the Bruce Lee pictures. Its super nice. We ordered our food and sat down. Our intentions were to dine in and we let the cashier know but I guess she ignored us because she gave us our food to go. Visited on 3/2/22 around 1pm. Dining room is small but it was not packed. You order at the counter first. Had the Orange chicken. It was super spicy. That was not to my liking. They actually advised me that they do not sell lo-mein separately. You can only order it as the side for your meal. So order lo-mein as your side and you can order a side of rice. Cause they do sell rice separately. Frankly I would not recommend this place.

The food came out fast and hot! We live in far away, 30 minute car ride and food was still hot and delicious! Wonton soup was warm and comforting for the cold weather, was the best soup ive ever had! Try the Mefan! Its rice noodle with your type of meat, so rich and flavorful we ate everything before we could take pictures! Will definitely go here again when we get the chance! Food is okay, for 2 people we paid about $29. For about the same amount Panda express would of been an option. There is no drink refills, they just give you a 16oz bottle soda.. room temperature by the way.

The good: The food is freshly prepared when you ordered it and the soups are delicious and warm. When you dine in the food is perfect to eat once it cools a little as it comes straight from the kitchen. It was great, so great we came a second time for take out. [All images are from this first visit except the burnt pot sticker image.] The bad: Take out was not the way to go. They were out of drinks except for diet coke. The eggroll is placed inside of the steaming hot food container, so by the time it was opened, after a 5-7 minute drive, the eggroll was completely soggy. The noodles had become sticky and were stuck to each other in a rather unappetizing ball. One of the 8 pot stickers was burnt. I know just 1, but I paid for 8 edible pot stickers. The restaurant wouldnt throw in 9, so I expect 8 edible pot stickers. More bad: This is also the 2nd time Ive ordered at Papa Lees and the 2nd time theyve gotten the soup order wrong. It is correct on the receipt, so its not a front of house problem. Its the back that delivers the order incorrectly. The first time it was quickly dealt with because we ate in. The 2nd time I was already home. Over all, the first impression was really great. The portions were impressive and the food was hot and fresh. I was also really hungry. The 2nd time gave me a good opportunity to see this location for take out and really rate them. Its okay. Nothing Id rave about, and also not something Id go out of my way to eat. We probably wont be coming back unless were really hungry and this is the only place open [and Whataburger on the other side of the parking lot is full].

Fast service. They make your food to order. Fresh all the time. Awesome place and very clean. Had the Sweet and Sour Chicken. It was so good. Also gives out generous portions.

I would have given this place a 5 but the place smells like trash i immediately got out of there it smells so bad have they ever heard of febrez. Also the food is good so that is the only thing I rate as good

The portions they give are immense for the price paid. What blew me away was when ordering something like sweet & sour chicken they will put holes in the lid to vent the steam and keep it crispy while you take it back home. Name another place that does this? Tried a lot of items on the menu and none disappoint.

1st time visiting had always heard about this restaurant was curious and it is worth every penny and delicious to the last bite! Plates are well served, ample variety and fast service! You can order ahead and just pick up bc theres no dine in at the moment.
