I recently had the pleasure of dining at BBGs Bar and Grill in downtown Austin, and I cant say enough wonderful things about my experience thanks in large part to Sophie! From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Sophie was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered fantastic recommendations. I tried the BBQ brisket tacos, and they were nothing short of amazing! She even suggested the perfect drink to complement my meal, and it was spot on. Her passion for the food and drinks really shone through, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. What truly stood out was Sophies attentiveness. She checked in on us just the right amount, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care for her customers made our night unforgettable. UBEREATS - Bartender asks to take my phone to punch in order for delivery, as the wifi is somehow down, but all tvs are on, serverstations working xyz. I said, write it down, youre not taking my phone. Service was terrible. We came in on a Friday and our server never took our order. He said that he was swamped but when I walked past he was talking about football with other customers. Had to walk over to the chicken side to get our order taken. Then they mistook my girls order and gave her a veggie burger. After 10 minutes and a total of 45 minutes there we finally all got our food. The bacon had been sitting out and was mostly fat. I had such a great experience at the place next door so my hopes were high. I m in the city yearly but I will never be back. I suggest you avoid this place if you like quality service and food.

Was charged 18-20% on my bill because they were busy . My fault for not checking but I tipped on top of this and realised too late. Drinks were average, food was ok for a sports bar and the service was fine although a little slow and unorganised due to the busy service but think it s ridiculous that an extra charge can be added like that. American tipping culture has got out of control. Ended up spending over $170 on 3 plates of food, 3 cocktails and 3 beers.

Went in for some wings, light dinner, and drinks before going to the mothership. We chose BBG because of the awesome reviews. When we walked in nobody said word to us. We went and sat down near the bar and waited.. several people passed by us and no one said word to us. After about 10-15 minutes we got up and walked out. I could understand if they were busy but this was probably at 5:30 PM there were hardly any people in there at this point.

I wanted some wings while downtown and this one rated top of the list. The service was fast. I ordered the buffalo ranch and sweet BBQ with fries. The wings and fries came out hot and fresh and reasonably priced. Destini was serving up at the bar was friendly and attentive. She provided great menu and drink recommendations. She had the crowd at the bar lively and checked up to see if needed anything regularly.

Literally laughable service... My wife and I sat at a top to watch our club. We ordered some mediocre nachos and a few beers. We managed to win... I went to the bar to order a round of shots for my fellow sports fans who were also supporting our shared club. I was told at the bar that apparently I was not allowed to order a drink from the bar... According to the bartender its a business decision to not allow a table to order drinks at the bar because that would negatively affect the servers tip money because they are all paid based on their tip revenue. , I found it literally laughable that apparently my money was not acceptable at the bar... I asked for reason... I will pay cash if you think my unconnected tab at my table somehow negatively affects your colleagues tip money, I held a bill in my hand ... still no... A bartender at a bar... Literally denied me $50+ worth of service because it would infringe on her colleagues tip money at a table unconnected to the bar. Who the H is paying these tenders or supporting a business environment to NOT sell their service because of a fake border war inside of their OWN establishment... Nope. A literal joke. Never would recommend .

Everything was going good until the manager came off as extremely rude to a client who didn t speak English. He arrived to pick up an order and was asking if he was in the right place. She immediately began to yell at him, making us and other customers uncomfortable. We are in 2024, that sort of behavior is completely unacceptable. My wife and I finished our drinks and promptly left. That was our first and last time going. On another note, the bartender was really nice to us.

We popped in for burgers and tater tots for lunch. Harrison, our bartender and server, was very friendly and offered great service! The burgers are large patties- wish we would have split one as neither of us finished our plates and hate to waste food. The tots were perfectly crisp and delicious- especially after a long day prior of hitting the bars. Lots of TVs to catch all of the sports action and was very close to our hotel, the JW Marriott.

I was with a group of people for some Sunday football. LOVE that they had just about every single game on throughout the bar. Service was pretty good considering how busy they get. However, I was not a big fan of the food. The tots were a little on the salty side. The mac n cheese eggrolls was lacking any cheese flavor. The menu says that its bacon cheeseburger filled, however, there was more mac then the bacon cheeseburger. I did enjoy the wings! The sweet hell wings were a hit.

Food is pretty good but I always seem to have a problem with pickup/delivery. Tonight I ordered 5 items through UberEats. Only one item arrived. Called the driver and she said that was all the restaurant gave her. Called the restaurant as was told, Yeah, I see the rest of your order here. We have a new person working. Best thing to do is get a refund through UberEats so you can re-order and get fresh food. Of course, that means waiting another hour for food, and dropping another $15 to tip a second driver. So its McDonalds tonight, and a lesson learned about BBGs.

Pros: Had air conditioner Cons: waited awhile until a server came by to get drink orders (only 1 other table seated in the restaurant), water did not taste clean, fountain soda was warm, flat & tasted like yäger. Ordered apps & dinner, they were brought out at the same time - both cold. Server said they re behind because of a catering order. Seems like something you could prepare for on a Friday evening.

Wren was our server. Food was good. Between Wren and her bosses, we ll never go back. I asked about food. It was all ok. Worst of all was being confronted by her manager to tell us we fell asleep when ordering. Been drinking? For sure!!!! Asleep?! Whaaat? That s hilarious. Super cool they don t like to listen to the customers story. We re super kind and understanding - this place was very inconsiderate. There are so many places in Austin go elsewhere. They re rude.
