Fantastic. Wonderful food, very proactive and attentive staff but not overbearing, great decor, great design, all excellent. The fish tank is great for our infant to watch. A bit expensive compared to competitors (especially any AYCE sushi place), but worth the money. The desserts are much larger than I thought theyd be, so I recommend sharing 1 per 2 people (besides for mochi). The manager came and served us mid-meal, which I always respect. Our only snafu was a slight misdelivery with our dessert order. After I realized it, I didnt want to bring it up since I thought our server was working really hard and did a really great job and didnt want him to be reprimanded at all, but my wife insisted on pointing out the correction, and the staff was gracious enough to provide the correct order while comping the incorrect one. Really excellent all around, and we look forward to coming back.

Everyone is so kind and respectful each was very well made and presented.I did wish there was a bit of a quieter atmosphere for our date but overall it was excellent. We got takeout from here and everything was good until we opened the fried rice and there was a clump of hair in it. we called the restaurant and they were so incredibly rude. We spoke to the manager and he told us that the only compensation we would get would be if we came back and order another fried rice, he would give us an extra one for free. So we would have to spend more money to be able to get anything for this huge inconvenience. He also tried to say we placed it there and it wasn t their fault. This was incredibly unprofessional and rude.

Went here with my boyfriend for hibachi grill got the lobster roll which was amazing !!!! Who knew so much flavor could go into one roll!! Joe was our server. He was very attentive and kind. The hibachi grill was a fun experience for sure will definitely come back and do it again. If you Are looking for entertainment and are hungry, I would definitely recommend coming here. Everything about this place was absolutely fantastic! Me and my girlfriend and I went here on a whim because we were both very hungry, and we had a very lack luster day and saw this place and decided to head in for lunch. A very lovely bar and seating area coupled with some very atmospheric decor. With that being said, the service was impeccable, and the menu was very diverse when it came to its menu options, from appetizers to various rolls. For all the food that we got which was three appetizers and five rolls total it was around $68 and I got to say it was well worth it.

I feel very disheartened with the experience level going down here. We got sick from the last time we came here...but, usually it was a good date night spot. Usually, was always a good experience. First time at this location and overall it s what I expected. Not sure if it s a chain but sure felt like it. The service was a little pushy which I get because they want all the tables full before they start cooking. Overall quality is what I expected and some tables had enthusiastic cooks while others like my table had the guy just going thru the motions. Not bad if you never experienced hibachi but also not great.

We found HAIR in the side salad and all they could offer in return was another salad. We asked them could we be compensated or SOMETHING for us having to find HAIR in the salad and out of courtesy for their establishment and not causing a seen a the hibachi table we kept it cool .. the manager gave us $10 off our $115 order wish we caused a seen instead.

My wife and i dined at the normal non hibachi tables. The food was incredible value and came out very quick, only complaint there was my wife s salmon was rather dry. But the reason for the review is the service, we had the best waitress we have ever had in Austin, Yan. She was super quick and attentive, anticipating things before we needed them, and clearing the table so quick. It was a welcome change of pace from the typical service we see in the area.

Shogun was a pleasant surprise as this was my first time. Also, side note, they do the traditional hibachi style flat top grill cooking if you are looking for it. This was a sushi dinner, as you can see from the photos. Traditional rolls as well as some specialty rolls, all very fresh and tasty. Our server was very attentive which was nice. Apps were good, prices reasonable. 5 out of 5 for a sushi dinner.

Wear a jacket - this place feels like you are in a deep freeze. Leaving that aside, we ordered hibachi with a small ($5) upgrade on the steak that was routine for the years we have been going here. Undoubtedly there is inflation at play but this is a chain restaurant that we have been regulars at. I dont think a few bucks would have broken the bank and more over, the server & manager could have delivered that message with their customers in mind. Our family will eat elsewhere.

We came out to this place for my mothers birthday. We actually got caught up behind traffic because of a wreck in Liberty Hill . showed up exactly 1 minute before they closed the door but we already had reservations. The staff was gracious enough to allow us to be seated and have our food cooked in front of us even after hours. I want to thank everybody from the store for not only providing good food, friendly service with a smile even under the stress of us being late, but providing my mother with a piece of cake with a candle lit for her birthday. I typically give bars/restaurants the benefit of the doubt far more than most but I cannot recommend this place whatsoever. Bartender was very pushy and rude when I was the only person sitting at the bar, saw a hostess get yelled and berated by a co-worker at the front desk for a simple miscommunication that definitely didn t warrant a profanity laden rant (especially 2 feet away from customers). Workers seemed over stressed and frustrated. Food itself was okay, but definitely not a dining experience I would ever want again unfortunately.

The condition of the bottom of the bathroom doors should ve been a clue to the quality of the food here. Nothing was particularly good. I had sushi. It wasn t fresh. The rice was terribly cooked and anything fried tasted like it was done in rancid oil. I ordered an after dinner drink. I m fairly sure they replaced Japanese whiskey with cheap scotch. Japanese restaurants are generally wonderful or terrible. This one was the latter.

The best part of our experience here was being able to escape. We love Japanese food (my wife grew up in Tokyo). We ordered their Tako-su, the Octopus had a fishy taste and was cut way too thick. My wife had to spit it out (into her napkin, of course... were not complete savages). It was chewy which is not really what you want when dining eating this dish. Now, our waiter was super kind, and we left him a tip equal to our final bill because we felt so bad about deciding to cancel the remainder of our order. They also misspelled some menu items, which makes me wonder about the owners attention to detail. Overall, it was not a great experience, and I cannot imagine well be going back.

This place used to be excellent, the last few experiences were terrible. During our last visit (on a weekday), they made us wait 10 min to be seated (party of 5). After we were seated someone came and told us it will take at least 20 more mins for a chef and another 20 mins before we get food. The chef actually came 30 mins later. Had we known at the door we would have left. We felt taken advantage of. The food was not good at all. It was very very salty, veggies were overdone and too much black pepper to ruin the taste. After the meal, they billed us approx $200 including a mandatory 20% tip (even though the service was terrible). After we came home we noticed that the bill included 2 items we never ordered (around +$25). I feel the owner got very greedy and doesnt care about customer service or customer satisfaction. I felt cheated and thats why I am writing this review. In the last 10 years this is the only 1 negative review I am writing. I felt it needed to be shared to warn others. Please always check your bills.

This is my goto spot for sushi. Yes, they offer other dishes, but sushi is what I go for. I like to sit at the bar when getting sushi, as theres plenty of seating there My wife and I have also gone for an evening at the Japanese grill. That was fun, but I usually find Japanese grills to always be a good time. The atmosphere is nice, somewhat classy, but not overly so. You can show up in shirts and t-shirt and not feel out of place. Same goes for non-casual dress.

Ive ordered to-go so only rating food quality. Everything is absolutely drenched in soy sauce. They must have put half a gallon of soy sauce in my orders. Rude waitress. Refused to answer in anything but 2 word grunts. Food allergies ignored, lied to us twice about the food allergy, then the cook blamed the waitress. Broken and chipped bowls, lukewarm green tea, flavorless food, dirty grill. I can literally see the grease and oil all over the grill after they cleaned it. Manager never even came by to ask about our problems. They had to remake food in the back because of allergy contamination. Don t come here. It s awful. 2 stars because the cook tried to do his best. This is my second time coming. The first time was fine from what I remember. Today Donny was the server for our table. Usually I can appreciate fast service, but I ve never felt so rushed in my life. Everyone was seated around the habachi @ the same time (8 ppl) & before I could sit down he quickly took drink orders. I politely asked for 2minutes to review the menu. He seemed annoyed but maintained a smile while saying sprite or Dr Pepper? I just ordered a water so that he could move on. He quickly returned with drinks & immediately wanted to take entree meal orders. I was never given the opportunity to order an appetizer. All of this happened within less than 5min of being seated. I dared not ask questions about the menu for fear of getting more hurry up! attitude. My steak tasted of pure butter, & absolutely nothing else. The taste of butter was over powering! In fact, The only flavor I tasted on my chicken, shrimp & steak was the taste of the grill smoke & butter, nothing else. Overall, I didn t enjoy the experience or the food. I didn t bother eating my meal @ the table, but instead opted to grab the bill & pack my food to go as soon as the hibachi chef finished. We never got a refill so I asked for a to go Dr. Pepper. Donny brought me an empty cup to pour my child s half full soda w/ melted ice into the cup, instead of giving me a fresh drink.The other 2 families seated among us followed my lead & asked for their checks, packed up their food & left at the same time as me. I guess they felt the same. They also had a habit of reaching over us & repeatedly removing dishes of food that were clearly still in use. I will say that the chef & the greeter were very nice. I could ve saved myself @ least $50 bucks more & went next door to Chili s. I won t be back.

Teppanyaki food was great! The person sitting closest to the food tray noticed a hair in the pile of butter... they removed and replaced the butter, but my wife can never tolerate anything like that, so it ruined her meal. It is also disappointing that their fried rice add-on is not chicken fried rice and has very little egg in it. The Kirin Ichiban was the little bottle and the sushi (shrimp crunchy roll was OK. Chef wearing Kobe (different restaurant) outfit was good and entertaining, and enjoyed speaking Spanish with one patron and only wasted 1 shrimp and one piece of steak with his overzealous showmanship.

We ve never had a bad experience here, however tonight was exceptional in all aspects and I appreciate the staff really going the extra mile in attentiveness and the food was awesome. If the staff reads this, the Halloween costumes were awesome as well. Kid-friendliness: The staff is very accommodating of children across the board. From the hostess stand, to the servers, and the chefs, all are engaging and truly make the kids feel welcome along with a great show.

Ms June (GM) and Bao (GM) were absolutely amazing from the time we walked in. We were escorted to the bar where we met with Mr. Sandy who provided us with the best food and bar service. He knew exactly what drinks to recommend and were amazing!!! The food was was rated at a 20 on a scale from 1-10. Very well priced and served warm and delicious.

Delicious food and great service. Went for lunch on a Thursday and there was no wait. We chose to eat in the dining room rather than at the grill table. The lunch menu has many choices at special lunch-time prices. I had the Teppanyaki Steak ($14.95) and my husband had Teppanyaki Chicken ($13.95). Both entrees were came with choice of onion soup or salad, fried rice and teppanyaki vegetables. The portions were generous enough that we both took home half for dinner. The meat/chicken was perfectly cooked making it tender and juicy, the rice was moist and veggies tender crisp. The sauce they use is amazing. The waiter was very attentive and made the Long Island Ice Tea my husband ordered at the bar himself. He said it was the best one hes had in years. You can order online to-go or for delivery too.

I was extremely disappointed! The rainbow roll, Philly and California rolls were mediocre at best. They wanted to take our plates the minute they thought we might be done. They kept asking if we were done yet. I dont think Ive ever felt like eat and hurry up and leave but that is the way it felt here. When the waiter brought the check, he held it out open for us to put our card in, and didnt even lay it on the table. I did not feel welcomed at this establishment and will not be back...ever!

I recently moved to the area and was looking to find a new hibachi teppanyaki place. Everything here was good until I found out they didnt have any yum yum sauce. Went to the store afterwards and bought yum yum sauce for my leftovers and everything was better. Unfortunately Im a lover of yum yum sauce so it is necessary to have if Im going to return. The staff that I encounter spoke very little English. Thats not a problem for me, but just be aware if it will be for you. I will say I found a lot of families there with younger children. Which is unusual for teppanyaki since it seems to be more expensive. Not sure if thats just the culture in the new area I move to or if this place has some sort of deal for children.

My partner and I ordered two different entrees. I order sushi and he ordered a teriyaki meal. The sushi came out in less than 5 minutes which didn t seem very fresh and his food came out 20 minutes after. I asked for a salad so I could continue to eat with my partner and even though the server heard and agreed, he never brought it. He never refilled my partner s drink either. He disappeared for 20 minutes and was only serving the bar. The sushi was not amazing and the service was not great. We previously tried the hibachi and our server was good but the food is average. Had an amazing experience here at this place. Food, atmosphere and our hibachi chef was the best. Food was super tasty. We had to wait for a 20-30mins but spent that time at the bar and enjoyed great hot sake and appetizers. Tried beef, shrimp, chicken and lobster. My favorite is as shrimp. I would definitely go there again for sure. It was my wife s birthday so they even did a small celebration for her. A must visit place.
