This restaurant has truly changed. I was very surprised to see the desert cabinet looking so messy. The cakes looked old and hastily put on a plate. The waitress was nice but she served us cold bread and dipping oil. The food was still delicious. I had the NY Calzone and my son had the Chicken Cordon Bleu pizza. I forgot to take pictures sorry. Was slightly disappointed.

We walked into a stuffy smelling dinning room. It took a while to be set (even though there was only two people in there eating) then to be put at a table where there was food crumbs and stickiness. We had two children with us and were not given a childrens minute. They gave us garlic bread before we ordered. That was over dried out but then some were soggy. When our food finally showed up my husbands chicken parm was so overcooked that he could not even cut through the chicken. The chicken fettuccine alfredo was an absolute disaster. The sauce was disgusting and watery and the linguine was rubbery. You did not even try to order anything else. We just told them about the food and they didnt even care. So we left. Well. Absolutely never go there again.

The Tortellini Al Vodka with grilled chicken had an over powering taste that was not appreciated (maybe garlic), too many onions, and they forgot grilled chicken. Ive also had vodka based pastas before and using the low quality alcohol cuts cost but you can taste when the alcohol has a better quality and this was not it. The Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp was gritty and grainy yes both, some people on DoorDash described it as sandy, you can also tell by the separation and the shrimp could have either been seared or cooked longer. Food arrived hot but thanks to dasher and not living far. I could only imagine if it was cold. Before ordering from anywhere especially DoorDash read reviews first on as many platforms as you can. I m also a firm believer that what people have said about DD is accurate and they post the reviews they want to keep merchants happy and customers spending money without knowing the full truth. Also called multiple times no answer. It s frustrating when you spend money and never mind the taste but I paid extra and never even received chicken.

I ordered a margarita pizza and got a cheese pizza with sliced tomato and light shreds of basil. No sauce, no flavor. Crust wasnt cooked long enough and way too much cheese. Place was dead, a worker was handling food with no gloves (something Id tolerate if the pizza actually reminded me of New York). And it cost 20$? Just embarrassing.

We were on the fence about leaving after we sat down at a booth with plates covering huge holes in the table. There wasnt a wine list I got a random cabernet, the dipping bread and oil was too garlicy. The calamari had too much lemon flavor, the fettuccine alfredo and shrimp scampi we ordered were both dry and not flavorful. The best thing we had was actually the wings and beer. The waitresses seemed less than enthusiastic to be working there and kind of confused, not sure if she was new but both of them seemed lost. It was an overall bad experience, management needs to step up their game or this place will go downhill fast.

Venturing into Russos Pizza was like stepping onto the set of a retro sitcom where the décor insists its still the golden age of The Sopranos, but the cleaning crew has since taken a long, possibly permanent, vacation. The ambiance is a blend of nostalgic and did that just move? with a side of intrigue, making one ponder the last time the establishment embraced the concept of a deep clean. The staff, a merry band of souls whove seemingly mastered the art of apathy, provide a service that could only be described as an avant-garde approach to customer care. Their detachment from the world of enthusiasm was so profound, it was almost commendable. Almost. Now, onto the pièce de résistance the pizza. Russos special pie could easily double as a flotation device, with its uniquely floppy crust and innovative oil pools that offer a reflection deep enough to question your dining choices. Its a bold statement in the pizza world, where less is more is taken to heart, especially when it comes to structural integrity. The appetizer, a curious ensemble of bread and cheese sticks, brought back fond memories of culinary experiments in ones youth, where the microwave was the instrument of choice. Staleness added a crunchy surprise to what one might usually expect to be soft and edible, leaving taste buds in a state of bewildered suspense. In sum, dining at Russos is an unforgettable journey through time and texture. It leaves a lot to be desired, indeed, but also much to ponder, like the resilience of oil in defying gravity and the untapped potential of microwaves in gourmet cuisine. A visit here is recommended for those who seek adventure over sustenance, and who appreciate a good mystery, especially when it comes to whats on their plate.

We hadnt been here for awhile and decided to stop in for dinner because we figured it would be quick and it wasnt busy inside. The waitress that helped us was very nice, but Im not sure she completely knew what she was doing. We had a coupon for BOGO pizza, so we ordered 16 pep/mushroom and a second 16 pep and some garlic knots. The waitress seemed a bit confused that we were ordering two large pizzas for only two adults and one kid, but she confirmed what we had asked for. We then waited for over an hour until our waitress came back and apologized for the wait and said our order would be out very soon. About another 10-15 minutes later she brings out only a 12 pep/mushroom pizza (which my son wont touch because mushrooms). We went ahead and started eating this since it had now been much longer than we had anticipated and were unsure if we would even see the rest of our order (sorry kid, we took the mushrooms off, still wouldnt touch it). About 5 minutes later a 16 pepperoni pizza arrived. We asked how we ended up with a 12 for the other pizza and she said that they had read the order wrong and would talk to the manager. Another few minutes later our garlic knots finally arrived (which we would have thought would come out first, but hey at least theyre here). The pizza itself was tasty. Both of them lacked toppings around the outer 1/3 of the pizza. The garlic knots were a bit overdone with some burn marks in some areas, but were still edible. When we went to pay the person running the register couldnt even find our order, so she ended up only charging us for the 16 pizza and garlic knots. My wife also decided to get a piece of red velvet cake to eat at home since it had already been over 2 hours here and we had to stop by other stores in the area before the closed. When we got home and she tried it she said it tasted dry and gave the rest to me. I agree it was pretty dry, more or less what youd get from a generic mass-produced kind of cake, but the outer layer (the last bite I had) tasted like it had been sitting in a refrigerator soaking up all the ambient scents of a bunch of other things around it for some time. I cant say for sure thats what it was, but thats sure what it reminded me of. I hope this place can turn it around. The food really has been great in the past, but its definitely not on the right path now.

The food that I ordered came out incorrectly but because the waiter doesn t speak English it was very hard to communicate that it was incorrect. I then had to eat a mystery sandwich. I ordered the chicken Tuscany sandwich and somehow ended up with chicken and meatballs on my sandwich. I will say the food was good, but I have no idea what I just ate.

Hey guys, wheres the sauce? There was barely any pizza sauce on my big slice. The pizza crust had a good crunch, and the feta and ricotta cheese gave the pizza a good creaminess. The spaghetti was aggressively mediocre; decent marinara sauce and the meatballs had a weird taste/texture(super mushy). Then again, this was a pickup order. Maybe I need to sit down at the restaurant for a fresh, tasty meal. If I need a quick slice instead of a whole pizza, Ill probably come back until I find a better place in this area. Since it was pickup, I didnt get a full experience of service. But as soon as I walked in, someone approached me to help, and i received my food pretty quick. Overall, it was fine. Check it out for yourself.

My husband ordered a whole birthday cake for me (as we have done for each other on most occasions). While ordering the cake, the manager made a comment to the effect of you won t want to continue with the order once you hear the price as most people don t want the cake after they learn the price as if to insinuate he wouldn t be interested in the purchasing the cake because he wouldn t be able to afford it Next, I went in to pick up the cake that Saturday around 3:30pm (the cake was ordered the Tuesday before) and I was greeted with confusion. The gentleman was scrambling trying to locate our cake order and get ahold of the manager to try and figure out where the cake order was and how to process the order. He then realized the managers phone was left behind. I then asked if they even had an extra cake in the freezer and he stated yes but that he didn t know how to charge me for it. He then said that the manager should be back in no more than 15 mins. About 45mins past and the manager walks in. When I politely asked for an understanding as to what happened, she nonchalantly stated that they did not put the order into the system and that she just knew to order an extra cake. She then rings me up and I simply pay for my cake and leave. My issue here is simply that there was no remorse or professionally whatsoever coming from the restaurant manager. I waited in the store for over an hour on my birthday and she could not even bother to look at me and simply apologize for the inconvenience or the time I had to spend waiting on her to get back to the store. She could have even simply said thank you for your patience. . At least then I would have felt like she valued my time. She seemed almost annoyed with my presence which is abnormal since I usually have amazing experience there.

On vacation in this area, was searching for a pizza place and saw the pictures and reviews for Russos and decided to give it a try, glad I did, trusted my instincts and they paid off. Its quite good. It is of the New York Pizza variety and all of the components come together pretty well. I had a regular pepperoni with fresh mozzarella and pecorino romano and pepperoni and much to my delight it was quite good. So very glad I came. The price was in line with what I received and I got the pizza very quick and my waitress was quite nice and friendly. So it worked out for me good so I would recommend it.

Litterally the worst chicken parm Ive ever seen. Menu says pasta dishes are made to order. What was served was anything but. Pasta was soo overcooked it almost a liquid. Dry spring like texture chicken was flavorless and clearly cooked days ago. All of it was swimming in this greasy oily sauce and it was all suspiciously lava hot for a good 10 minutes that only a microwave would do. Pizza was the only decent thing there and it was just ok. Service was great our waitress was friendly and attentive. Dining and bar area was very presentable and clean. Despite being there around 5pm on a Friday there were only about 3 parties there. Such a nice restaurant empty is always a sad sight. The food I had today is clearly the reason why.

Places like this have to realize the following: when you are built right off of a tollway that was created for the sole reason so that people dont have to drive through Austin on their way from South Texas to North Texas, or vice versa, you need to realize that some of your crowd not only wants to get in and out fast but also have their order accurate because they have probably been in a car for a couple of hours or more (in our case, four and a half hours with one stop), and theyre probably pretty hungry. Now, on Saturday night, theyre probably mostly locals who want the intimate dining experience. We visited on Sunday right when they opened. We were the first ones in. Now, from my experience that can be a good thing and very much a bad thing. In my case, the pistachio pesto chicken penne pasta dish was actually really good. Quite a bit saucier than I thought it was going to be, and definitely seemed to be higher in calorie content than the menu said, but it was really delicious. And very hot! My daughter actually wanted to come here because we have been to the South Padre Island location a couple of times and she loves the pasta and meatballs. This experience did not disappoint her either. My wife on the other hand, almost always seems to have her order messed up. This was no exception unfortunately. Everyone needs to know that when creating your own pizza, all options are not available unless you get a 12-in pizza or larger. If you just want a big slice, which you know they just cut the dough to the size of a large slice of pizza and then dress it accordingly, apparently you cannot get pesto sauce with this option. After our order had been in for 10 minutes, our server came back to the table and asked if we wanted both pesto sauce and tomato sauce on the big slice (weird), to which we told her that we only wanted the pesto sauce because marinara and pesto sauce would be a bit weird (like, duh). So, after my food comes out and my daughters pasta came out, almost 15 additional minutes go by before the server comes back to the table and lets us know that they cannot just do pesto sauce on a big slice. By this time, it had been almost 30 minutes since we ordered. So, my wife just spooned some of my entree from my plate to hers, having to be careful since she cannot have tomato (which is why she wanted the pesto sauce..... Italian food places have to deal with this many times per day so I dont really know why it comes as a shock to them). At this point we had no idea how long it would have taken for them to have created anything significant and gotten it to the table. We had already been there almost 40 minutes when we were trying to make at least decent time from the tip of South Texas to the DFW area. At the end of it, it was pretty much a waste of 50 minutes. But, the one positive thing here is that I can totally recommend the pistachio pesto chicken penne pasta, even though It really wasnt what I thought it was going to be. I was pleasantly surprised, yet my wife was let down again now by a second Russos location! Maybe well just stick to Whataburger instead....

The food is why I come here. The pizza dough makes a great crust, the garlic knots are always a risk to fill me up before the entree even comes, and their chicken Alfredo is my favorite version anywhere. I went here this morning and the service was terrible, the soda had no co2, my chicken wings were burnt so they tried to throw extra parmesan to cover the taste which clearly didn t work, the garlic bread was soggy, the shrimp scampi had no shrimp, the server kept forgetting my sauces. All the server had to do is write down the order and that would ve made everything so much easier. Instead of going off memory geez. The plates on the tables where filthy. The only good thing is that they only charge me 20 for my 60 dollar meal that wasn t even edible. Even the server knew. I really shouldn t have paid for anything. This used to be my favorite italian restaurant but dam this is embarrassing. If this keeps up this place will be gone for good.

First and last time going here. Came in as a date with the wife at a very slow time as there were only 3 other tables of people (one table with 8, 2 others with only 2). She ordered a medium pizza and I ordered a Calzone that had way too much grease which made the crust/breading soggy which then made it difficult to eat it right. They appeared fully staffed (or overstaffed considering the slow business) with at least 3 cooks, 3 wait staff and a supervisor but it took way too long to get served. We ate only a portion of our order and took the rest home. They didnt have any napkins around anywhere so I had to go to the restroom and get a stack out of the bin. I Packed the Calzone in the to-go box with plenty of napkins under it to absorb the grease to hopefully have a better meal the next day. No luck, the grease was scarce this time but it made me throw up and I dont throw up easily. This place is definitely not going to commence to be on our Italian restaurants, Id rather go to the Olive Garden or pick up 7-11 pizza. If youre looking for a price-comparable Italian restaurant where everything is better, get to 1701 S Mays and be amazed. They recently had a truck drive into their front door and could still get the job done better than this place.

Fair warning As a former employee it pains me to write this but I feel it needs to be said since management is neglecting to do anything about it. For the 3 months I ve worked there, I ve observed numerous health code violations and improper business practices ranging from roach infestation being improperly handled, employees not wearing gloves or washing hands when handling your food, all the way to the business side of things where nobody there is properly certified in the state of Texas to be handling food or serving alcohol. If you decide to eat here, please do so with severe caution. (Edited: Don t worry, I ve notified BBB and DHEC.)

2-5 years ago this place was amazing! Great food, great service, great atmosphere but now?? Service 0/10, atmosphere 5/10, food- wouldn t know now because our server did not approach our table for over 10 minutes to even give us a menu. Majority of the tables were dirty, we walked in and the server seemed irritated that she had more people that she had to serve and based off of my observation, all of the other customers who had been served seemed irritated as well. Not only did a couple walk out before us, but we also left. This place is going down hill and the owners need to really consider the type of workers they hire to upkeep their business- otherwise their business will be no more.

I cantt speak to their hefty takeout traffic...GO for the FRESH, FRESH veggies/food!! GO for the casual patio dining with an Oh so personable Master Chef and Lovely waitress! It pains me to write this. I have been a long time customer of Russos in Pflugerville. I believe in 2022 it changed owners. Service has been going down hill every since. Tonight we ordered a pizza at 7:53 we were told it would be ready in 40 minutes. We got there a little early and watched the new manager struggling with multiple late orders. Cooks leaving the oven open and total chaos, which created longer cooking times. Then after confronting the new manager about how late my order was about 9 PM. He could not speak to me. Instead of dealing with the incompetency of operations and discussing it like a professional. He ordered other staff to help me and went to hide. Needless to say youve lost another customer. Youll be out of business in less than one year if you keep going down this path.

ROACHES! The server had 0 sense of urgency. My full salad was tiny and the wrong kind. I watched the shift lead and the cook pick mushrooms off of my pizza before serving it. Shift lead saw me watching so she whispered to me, He tried to undercook your pizza so we were just checking it. Thats what you saw us doing. That was a LIE. My pizza had mushrooms they missed all over it. While eating I saw something crawling. ROACHES! They have ROACHES crawling on the wall! I immediately made my family stop eating. I asked for the manager and the shift lead told me he wasnt available. I told her we were done eating because there are ROACHES. She didnt seem alarmed and gave me a 15% off discount. THATS IT 15% off! I left quietly and did not make a fuss. I told her that the level of uncleanliness was unacceptable. I will never return and I am very unhappy that I was required to pay for an uneaten meal served in a place of unclean filth! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. After reading reviews, I know someone is going to reply to me with a canned response and nothing will change. I am writing this so other people dont eat with ROACHES.

I ordered the cheese ravioli, the sauce was watery the pasta was cold and semi frozen, so nothing fresh for me. Son said his Calzone was great. Husband had the soup and said there was no flavor what so ever. The staff was unorganized and not well trained. Don t get me wrong the place has potential to be great. Stick to pizza and calzones as for authentic Italian just take it off the menu if your just going to use frozen pasta. Pay your staff an actual living wage and you might get employees who actually care about the job.. Good pizza option in the Pflugerville area. We used to live in Pflugerville and had been gone for 5 years before coming back for a visit. A nostalgic place for our kiddos is Russos so we decided to have an early dinner while exploring our old neighborhood. We had a very nice server and the overall atmosphere is good. The pizza is pretty darn good. My kids remember and love the giant slice so both had their own and easily polished them off. My wife and I shared the Prosciutto & Fig; great flavors. The only downside during this meal was Austin was topping at 107F and the A/C was struggling to keep up with the temp so it was quite warm inside...but that was a problem many places were having during that heat wave.

The worst! I walked looking for a slice of cheese. They sell slices. I realize it was early in the day. Around 11:30 or noon. However when I place the order I was never told that they would have to make the pizza just for the one slice. At least thats what Im assuming. I had to wait 18 minutes. Just for the one slice, once I received the slice it was undercooked. It was a Big slice, Ill give them that but it was the worst. Very little cheese soggy in the middle uncooked the crust was only crispy on the edges. Ill never go back. Im sticking to my old faithful. I wont mention the other pizza place by name. I will say theyre located in the strip center mall next to Freebirds off of Howard.

We were referred to try this restaurant by a server in an adjacent restaurant the day before. My husband was eager to try the restaurant after a long day of military drilling with early morning starts. We drove through Friday evening traffic from a nearby surburb passing many other restaurant options including those there in the StoneHill shopping complex. Although our server was kind and apologetic, they seemed very inexperienced in having the ability to take initiative and communicate with their staff. After we ordered our pasta that would be a single dish without accompanying sides, we asked if bread is available while placing the order. We were advised that after 5pm is their busiest time, so they were out of bread at the time that they are aware will be the busiest for them daily. We were also told they were short staffed with only one cook who is able to make bread although others with aprons were in the kitchen area that cant assist. Keep in mind that this is a restaurant that makes pizza, which is bread with toppings that customers were ordering and receiving. We asked if we can get the bread with the meal when its available since we have to wait for the meal to be served. The server said they would try to serve it with the meal. 4 individuals who arrived at the same time as us received their full meal of various meal varieties while we continued to wait on our lasagna 30 minutes later as we did not order other appetizers and there were no complimentary substitutes. The server said they would check on the breads cooking time status, but could never provide any time estimate to us making us question whether they were asking the cook at all. 2 individuals next to us arrived at the same time as us ordered bread & received it rather quickly within 10 min with their full meal being delivered within 30 min that included pasta. I asked how those individuals were able to get bread since they were supposed to be out of it at the time of both of our arrivals while waiting for more to be cooked. We asked if we could have that type of bread since it could be prepared quicker. We were advised that it is a different type of twisted bread that can only be available if we order it. We asked the length of time it would take if we ordered it and were advised about 20 min. Being that we had already waited nearly 30 min for lasagna, in another 20 minutes we figured that the complimentary bread would be available because surely it wouldnt take 50 min to an hour to be available. The lasagna was served after 30 min and we asked for the status of the bread since we were told they would try to serve it with the meal. When it was not served with the meal, we asked again if theyd checked the status of the complementary bread since they told us they would try to make that effort. It was as though we were having the conversation for the first time as the server said they would check on its status. We had the understanding from the previous conversation that they would check prior to serving the meal. To serve and still not be aware of the status was an indicator that they did not follow up as they told us as they did not anticipate that we would ask again. I stated that it was the first time Id been to an Italian restaurant that had no bread. After the first 10 min of having received our food, we ate slowly as the lasagna with an after taste and iced tea didnt seem to be as appetizing hoping that 40 min was sufficient time to get bread to go with the order. The server went back to check. At around 50 minutes of being there and half of our meal consumed, the bread finally arrived. I observed that the complimentary bread they serve is basic flat bread like the kind flatbread pizza is served on. It was astonishing that a place that was cooking and serving pizzas left and right took nearly an hour to produce flat bread. When the bill arrived, I asked if they offered a military discount. The server stated they did and they would ask their manager. The manager came to our table and discounted our meal for the inconvenience.

I wanted to warn about ordering Russos pizza using their app. This past Sunday, I ordered 2 giant pizzas and a large Detroit-style pizza, $150 total via the app and ordered ahead for a 2pm pick up. When I arrived around 215 my order couldnt be found in the system and obviously hadnt been made. There was no manager on premises that day so the employees werent sure how to resolve the issue. I was told the charge would fall off that night since the order was never made. I asked if the pizzas could be made but I was told Id have to wait for all the other customers orders to be fulfilled, even though I ordered ahead and paid with email receipt in hand. Ended up grabbing Double Daves. Charge never fell off so I followed up with Robert, the manager, today and was basically told sorry it was a computer glitch and he made it seem like he was doing me a favor by refunding my card. The managements ability to handle customer service is non-existent. It was extremely disappointing how the situation was handled. The employees that day didnt even know they had an app. We never had issues ordering online and we love their giant pizzas for gatherings, but this whole lack of care from the management really turned us off the place.
