I recently dined at Tropical Curry & Grill, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. The menu is a delightful journey through authentic Pakistani cuisine. I highly recommend the Chicken Biryani; its bursting with flavor and perfectly spiced. The Butter Chicken is out of this world, so creamy and aromatic. The naan was fresh and soft, ideal for dipping into their rich, aromatic curries. Service was top-notch friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I also appreciate the cleanliness and well-maintained surroundings. Overall, Tropical Curry & Grill exceeded my expectations. New ownership, different menu, different concept. Sadly, this is no longer my favorite restaurant in the area. Reduced portions on curries and they dont all come with rice..., samosas only come in twos, lamb is completely off the menu, and no more noodles either. Had the chicken saag and was disappointed in flavor. Tikka masala was okay. We still felt hungry afterwards.

I ordered my food for pick up and it was finished cooking quickly and I was greeted at the door by the wonderful staff! The new look inside the restaurant is so cool and pretty! First time trying and I was thoroughly impressed. I had the Samsosa, which were filled with peas and potatoes. And the Goat Chukka (Bone In) was also very good. It has a touch of spice and bone in goat. If you re not a person that can eat meat with the bone in then I suggest to steer away from this dish. But overall the seasoning and taste of this was excellent. And the appetizers are my favorite.

Tropical Curry and Grill was the first Indian restaurant I visited when I moved to Austin in 2021. Since then, I have visited the restaurant number of times and every time have loved the food. Go here if you want to tase typical south Indian dishes. Parota with Chicken Salna, Seerga Samba rice Biryani, Dal Tadka are some of my favs at this place. Jagadish is always positive and welcomes with broad smile. Pays attention to every need of yours (Spice levels, help chose best dishes and being flexible with your requirements in each dish ordered)

This was not good food. Not sure what curry was malai kofta made in, it was white. Thats a staple North Indian dish made in tomato curry. Bay leaf and Tarka got it right. Tofu Thai dish wasnt good and chana masala was too spicy, when I asked for all mild food. Too expensive for what I got. Not going back.

Some of the best Indian food I have had in a long time. Everything was prepared to order. They are especially strong with southern Indian dishes. Dont sleep on the specials; we got the chicken stew Kerala style, and it was very good. The food is served with disposable plates and utensils, but the food is better than some white tablecloth restaurants Ive been to. A small investment in the dining room would be a good idea. Solid vegetarian options and able to accommodate an allergy. One of the best meals Ive had in the Austin area. Very friendly. My husband and I went for the first time a couple nights ago, he loves lamb vindaloo. We ate at the restaurant and they did a great job of getting us food quickly, in spite of a huge number of takeout orders. But where the service really was above and beyond, I apparently left my purse there and didnt know it! Drivers license, cash, credit card gift card.... I thought I left it in back of car, no I left it at the restaurant. THEY BROUGHT IT TO MY HOUSE! amazing people, and they tried 2x in order to make sure I got it. Thank you thank you thank you!

This was the first time eating here and my family and me had a wonderful meal. We ordered Butter Chicken, Korma, Tikka, Masala, Vindaloo, and Gilma Biryani. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The portions were large so that was a plus when we have teenage boys that eat a lot! The meat was very tender and the rice was great, as well. Everything was seasoned perfectly. First thing to start off with is that any time you come here the food is fresh and they don t compromise quality for quantity. Portion sizes are great and the food is stellar. This restaurant has one of the best rice based dishes which is the gilma biryani. Packed with flavor from both the biryani part and the fried rice part. The parota with chicken curry was definitely the best in austin if not texas. Parotta was hot and fresh being equal parts crunchy and soft. The chicken curry was so tasty and not too spicy. The chicken in both dishes was very tender and flavorful which most restaurants comprise for either the flavor of the rice or curry but this one nailed both. Amazing post workout meal too. Consider me a loyal customer from here on out.

A no-frills restaurant that has some of the best Indian food I ve ever had in Austin (or anywhere else). Tried it for the first time yesterday: butter chicken, shrimp korma, shrimp vindaloo, garlic naan, and a couple of mango lassis. Everything was absolutely incredible! The sauces are well balanced and full of flavor, the portions are large, and the ingredients are very high quality. We ll definitely be back to Tropical Curry and Grill often. It is so good!

I would rather rate -10 for customer service. I ordered food like an hour back with 20-30 mins prep and packing time. When I reached the store they state they are still packing the food and waited another 20 mins to pack the food although the dine in customers are only around 30% occupancy. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Space was clean and open. They serve Halal Meat Options, which is why we wanted to try them. Menu looked promising. First time here this evening of 2022! I was greeted with such a warm and hospitable Front of House member who was patient with me as I navigated through the menu :) food portions are huge - we ordered the Goat Biryani, Chicken Tika-Masala, Samosa, and all curries come with rice + naan (and sauces) - and most importantly, it was truly delicious! Thank you again for our wonderful dinner! 5 stars and ABOVE all the way!

The food here is delicious! Probably the best south Indian restaurants in the area. The staff is hard working and all around great people. If youre in the area or looking for a south Indian food fix I highly recommend checking Tropical Curry and Grill out.

Agree with other reviews: it really does taste like homemade food. Not overwhelming spices like most other Indian places we ve eaten. Reasonable prices make it even better. Owner, Jagadish, is a very nice man.

I LOVE INDIAN FOOD AND BY ACCIDENT I FOUND THIS PLACE. I SELECTED THE CHICKEN BEIRIYANI AND WOW IT WAS SPOT ON! IVE EATEN AT SOME OF THE BEST INDIAN RESTAURANTS FROM MUMBAI TO LONDON AND ITS JUST AS GOOD. 5 star for this restaurant. Not only is the food excellent the owner , chef and his team go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. I actually love the naan and my only not so great that I d say is I wish they would serve bigger pieces as I tend to eat mine a little too fast lol.. thanks for being awesome, see you soon ( headed over to pick up my 2 order this week from them now as I write this ) !! :)

Great food, reasonably priced. I order from here several times per week and the food is always great, generous servings and very friendly staff. Ive liked everything I tried so far. The food here is absolutely amazing! I literally eat here at least twice a week ( thai curry and spicy chicken hakka noodles ). On top of the food being phenomenal, the owner, his wife and the chefs are so sweet and so accommodating. I send every customer from my bar that I can to eat here. Theyre the best!!!
