Drove from Louisiana and no regrets! Had the Soul Food Platter, the Fish and shrimp, and The Gripper. Double the greens because they were . The fish was crispy and the fries had the perfect crunch. 10.3.24- This was my 1st visit here and now I understand why everyone commented about the customer service first. It was impeccable and ideal! You feel welcomed and attended to from the moment you enter until you leave. The Lobster Gripper was flavorful and HUGE!!! I was given a sample of the greens after the owner heard me mention I should have ordered some to try. Let me tell you they were amazing! Definitely felt like home. I tried my boyfriend s catfish meal and let s just say his meal was my meal! I cannot wait to return!

Just arrived from Philadelphia and our first food stop/experience of the day was The Gripper Kitchen in Pearland, Texas just outside of Houston. Trust me when I tell you it is a dinning experience you won t soon forget. We feasted on their Catfish & Shrimp Basket with Parmesan Fries, yes, you heard it right, Parmesan Fries. Chef Tony does a great job with seasoning the Catfish and each piece was fried to perfection - crispy on the outside with a tender flaky interior touching my southern roots. The Shrimp in the dish was equally impressive with a golden crunch that once bitten reveals the juicy flavors with each delicious bite. This restaurant has a variety of options for most palates and each order is prepared quickly while you wait - so it s hot y all. Let me end with this, if you live in or are visiting Houston this is a place you must visit, you won t be disappointed..

Alright I don t usually write reviews, but I m breaking up with Gripper after giving it another try after the first couple of upsetting orders. Coming from someone who loves fried chicken and chicken sandwiches, this place USED to be my spot. I ve tried the Yung gripper, the Chef Tony, the grilled chicken, and the rockin rodeo gripper a multitude of times each. In my opinion they have fallen off these last few months HARD. The chicken is being fried SO HARD that it s just not good anymore. It s like they re reusing the same grease with everything or leaving it in the fryer for too long. Too hard and dry (especially the yung gripper) The grilled chicken, regardless of the amount of sauce and slaw you put on it, it doesn t taste seasoned. I love supporting black businesses but I m going to have to mark this one off the list. I do suggest giving them a try to come to your own conclusion, but this is the 3rd time in a row I feel like I wasted my money..

The chef Tony gripper. pretty good. It has blue cheese so if you don t like that definitely recommend the regular yung gripper just ask for some extra sauce on the side. Neither of those were spicy! The atmosphere was a vibe & customer service super good

Working in the area and googled best lunch in pearland. The Gripper popped up and I first ate with my eyes. Noticed that the HOF Andre Johnson approved of this place so had to try. Went with the Philly cheesesteak and it was on point. Highly recommend hitting this place up.

After hearing all the wonderful reviews about their food I decided to call for a pick up order on my lunch break. The phone rang no answer,I drove over ordered and waited for a bit .. I ordered the catfish gripper with the seasonined fries. Took a good amount of time. Ill be honest the food was really fresh however the strong taste of chilli powder and paprika is all I tasted.... There was absolutely no seasoning on the fish or fries. Im not sure why the food was so bland but for a little over 21 bucks I expect to have a unforgettable meal. I hated the fact that there was no ranch offered no hot sauce no nothing but ketchup packets. Very displeased. Consider turning the music down as well being it was lunch time there shouldnt be a struggle to hear the young lady behind the counter taking my order. She was very nice btw.... I guess I waited too long to eat at this establishment...been waiting awhile and heard a lot of compliments....I just did not get that.... Parking: Be prepared to walk from Shipleys Orange theory has all the parking spots.

For my wife and I first time trying out this place, it was definitely worth the drive. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR SURE!!!!! Service was excellent, food 10/10 and atmosphere was definitely a great vibe for sure. The own delivered our food to us and checked on us to make sure things were tasting wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back in the future to try out more meals.

Great vibes, great, food, and great service!! Wide variety, great prices, and the service was fast! I m glad I stopped or ease I would have had to be rolled out. I had the grilled chicken sandwich combo with a sweet tea, sweet potato fries, and a side of mac & cheese. My husband literally had the slider combo with another burger on the side and smashed it all! Owner was there, in the mix, and delivering food. Great energy & we WILL definitely be back!!!

Food was good. Actually better than I expected. The menu is not super clear. I don t know what a gripper is, but that is essentially the standard on the menu. There are different types of grippers from fish to chicken. Also, they do this thing where when you pay, they swipe your card and presume you re going to leave an 18% tip. You have to actually change that tip amount manually on the screen. I don t know why this bugs me so much but I feel like if I am ordering my food standing up, there is no service component so I should not be obligated to pay a tip and certainly they should not, be so presumptuous as to automatically include an 18% tip. Anyway, I found that odd. The floor was ridiculously sticky as if someone spilled glue on it and could not get it off. Kind of made you wonder how clean things were but we decided to stay and eat there anyway. Music was also a little loud for my liking, but that s just a personal preference.
