Always enjoyed the great hospitality as we were greeted into and exiting the door. The Hostess is our favorite, because when you walk into an establishment and get a sour greeting it makes you want to walk out. The Hostess we experienced over the last 3 years makes you feel welcomed. A great local place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. My favorite is the meat lovers omelette. Always fresh never ending coffee served with a smile and good food served fast. Papa Yolks is a Pasadena gem. Parking: Tons of parking. Sunday after church is a bit tight, but otherwise always a place. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible for wheelchairs and walkers.

Warm welcome received upon arrival/departure. Ordered French toast, sausage patty, orange juice, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and grits. The latter three needed salt and pepper. Owner and possibly wife stopped by table to chat and shake hands. Will be back to try other dishes.

I had an excellent breakfast at Papa Yolk in Pasadena, TX. The staff was extremely attentive and welcoming, and we were attended to right away. The service was impressively fast, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. A solid 10 out of 10 experience highly recommended!

I am from out of town but had driven by here ,so this morning, we stopped. My husband had the special strawberry waffle , with eggs and bacon. The waffle was delicious. From the first bite , I could taste the strawberry. The bacon was amazing , thick, and huge pieces that were cooked just right. I had the 3 egg meat lovers with cheese omelet it was very large and stuffed with meat, I think the cheese was American, which I dont really care for , but it was well melted. I love the fact they let you order half hash browns , a little crispy ( burnt), but did not taste like it. The grits were very good, and they put a spoon in them with butter on it. A soft, fluffy homemade bisquit , completed my meal. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in and were greeted by everyone. The kitchen is open , so you dont feel like they are hiding what they are doing. As a born and raised Texan , I loved the decor. I will be back to try lunch. I dont know why anyone would go to a chain when this gem is in the area.

Great service. The hostess was gracious enough to explain the menu options since it was our first visit. Food was really fast and cooked to order. Biscuits and gravy, pancakes and hash browns were delicious. I would eat here again. Great neighborhood place! Parking: Large parking lot in a strip mall. We had a very nice and talkative waitress, but absolutely will not be going back. Went for breakfast with my fiance and the food was way over priced for what we got. I could have got better food if we had stayed home and cooked. I got the spinach omelet which wasnt too bad, but the hash browns were soggy and oily. The biscuits tasted like sour dough and not good at all! We even payed extra to get gravy on the side and still couldnt stand it. My fiance got chicken fried steak and I spit that right out... Respectfully. Im 99.9% sure it was just a frozen patty that they either fried or baked. We payed extra for a ham steak and all though it was okay. It was super small for what cost us $5.50! We could have got a way better meal if we had just went to kellys.. Honestly dont recommend.

7/2023 - They have breakfast buffet but I havent tried it. Breakfast tacos are big and tasty. Salsa is extra charge. Biscuits and gravy are good. I was pleased to be able to get half order. They have a faded out sign out front, easy to miss. It says they charge 3.5% if you use card so just to let you know. Food was ok, overpriced for the plates. Almost everything youd want in a breakfast plate is separate so youd have to add on. Tea was really watered down. Almost clear! I overheard another table say the same thing to their waitress and she said, I just serve whats on the pitcher. Its Texas, we dont like watered down tea. Brew another batch please. I returned the glass that was still full and we got charged 2.99 for it. Our waitress gave good service but the atmosphere is not necessarily home-like feel. All their decor is super dusty which makes me question the cleanliness of the place.

You want a genuine southern diner? Then you want Pappa Yolks! I truly enjoy breakfast here, having been here at least one per week for nearly 5 years.; Teh biscuits and gravy are otustanding, the bacon is always chewy, the way I love it and the breakfast tacos are authentic and huge.The steam table for lunch always has something unique on it and is seriously down-home. All American food. Nice restaurant. Not very many options for health conscious eaters. Those who love fruit with their breakfast, you will not find it here. If you like salt, youll need to add a bit to some of the food options. Portions are good. Service was awesome. I just really enjoy fruit with my oatmeal. Bananas, strawberries blueberries something not so heavy. Chicken fried steak was juicy but needed salt. Green beans were AMAZING, mashed potatoes needed salt. Eggs Benedict were ok , the yolk was way too runny for me. the fresh squeezed Orange Juice was AWESOME, worth the 5 bucks a cup. But this is only my opinion, Im just a salt lover who actually doesnt need all that salt. Lol

Place was very unprofessional. They treated my friend and I horribly and it wasn t even any fault of our own. The service was poor, the food was cold and they made several mistakes. Yet we were still never rude. My friend asked to speak to a manager which there was no manager on site at a restaurant mind you. So we paid and tipped still and were leaving. Then the staff member that was so rude Asked us to wait and told us the manager was going to come up and talk to us. He came up there , But he brought three cops and told them that he had some disorderly customers because his staff didn t like that we told the truth about our experience there. He told the police that his staff told him that we had used foul language which was not true whatsoever and he brought three cops with him so he could look tough and mouth off to us. this owner goes by the name of Neil and you could tell that he wanted to instigate the situation, but luckily the cops were seeing what was going on and we went outside and had a private conversation with them. They were surprised at the unprofessionalism and the fact that there was no manager to be talked to and nobody else seem to have heard us use any foul language or anything else so it was basically Their word against ours. Long story short the police had to waste their time.They shook hands with my friend and I and we parted ways. Neil wasn t so quick with his words and threats then. He stayed inside and we left Like we had intended to before he blew the whole thing out of proportion and tried to bring the law into it when no law was broken.Neil was the only one that used any language that was inappropriate when he said he never wanted us back which we were first time customers that had already decided we would NEVER come back because of the terrible service and the rude hostess that acted like a manager until we asked to speak to one.She was extremely rude because we were honest about the food The place is very unprofessional and the food is beyond what I would call poor.

Was absolutely mortified at what I witnessed at this restaurant. Stopped in while traveling through town for what I thought would be a nice easy diner type meal. Before ordering, we overheard a violent interaction of a verbal barrage from apparently the owner if the establishment. He was screaming and yelling at an employee regarding her behavior etc. Using every exemplary and was very demeaning and degrading. I have ptsd and my children were very frightened. The atmosphere was terrible. I worry for that waitress and hope that she reports him for hostile work environment and abuse. Needless to say, we did not order. No one should endure such treatment. Shame on this owner and management. Disgusting.

Love the food. The only bad thing i would say is not to put the seat yourself sign out because we as customers have no idea whose section is who. So, we take a chance a sit in a section that the waitress is already overwhelmed with a lot of tables and is very short almost to the point of being rude to us. Two of us have been there before, but we brought someone new today and they were not impressed by her at all.

Ive really never been the one to leave negative reviews, if something is bad enough I just learn the lesson to not eat there again, but in this case I feel like I wasted my money, and want to try to save others from wasting it as well... First of all the waiter was nice and friendly, thats fine and great but the food was absolutely tasteless, literally, it tasted like the most bland, unseasoned food ever, Ive had cafeteria food at hospitals that had more flavor on them. My girlfriend was the first to notice, her hash browns resembled slightly brown lumps of mashed potatoes, her pancakes were just fried up batter with no flavor, and the only thing on her plate that had any flavor was the bacon.. because well its bacon. My omelette was just a giant lump of tasteless eggs, my biscuits and gravy were flat dough cakes with no flavor, the gravy was white Elmers glue, the grits were... lumpy sandy water at best. How do you mess up classic southern standards so bad? The iced water was delicious, but not worth the 35 dollar bill. They seem to go for the wow factor of large size and portions, but Id take portions half the size if they had some taste to them. We left with most of our food uneaten, and went to another place to eat. Management never came to speak to us about the food, what a shame.

Claims to be a family friendly establishment, but refuses to put even one changing table in for kids in diapers. Waitress chastised me like I was a child and said I couldnt change my 5-month-old daughters diaper at the table (I had her on a changing pad, so not directly on the table). Told me to take her to my car to change her.....like I have room in my car for that. Had been there 3 months prior, had the same situation, but the waitress that day actually ENCOURAGED me to change her at a table. They need to take all the signs down saying they are faimly friendly if thats how theyre going to treat parents of small children. Food is mediocre at best.
