I got the grilled chicken sandwich with extra mayo. There was so much mayo on it I could hardly eat it. The mayo tasted bad. The grilled chicken patty was so small and over cooked. I asked for all the veggies and didnt get any onions. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak platter with broccoli it smelled bad. The fried pickles were the only thing I could eat. So sad.. my plate came out 10mins after my moms did

We love this place. The food is always fresh. The service is always great. The pizza is better than the competition down the street. The burgers are amazing. And the chicken fried steak is the best we have had in Odessa. I recommend eating there so your food is fresh but you can also call-in your order.

There were only 4 tables when we walked in. There was no sense of urgency from the wait staff. Our order came out missing food. When a lady walked back by I let her know we were missing food. Instead of checking she proceeds to clean off 2 tables before finding our waitress. She has to come back and check what we ordered. Goes back to the kitchen and still takes 15-20 minutes before we get our missing food. By that point the rest of our table was done.

Im a truck driver so I was hoping to get a little something of a stick to my bones and a home-cooked meal but you probably shouldnt order dinner at breakfast time here the chicken fried steak was burnt to a crisp macaroni and cheese was cold mashed potatoes was iffy not going to give up on him maybe at a different time. Business was completely empty.Forever grateful!

Ive eaten at several different Rustic Cafes, in their convenience store settings, and it was pretty good. This stand alone restaurant really is not that good. The tables were not cleaned well, there was hardly anyone there, but service was slow. And to top it off. Some guy walked right past me with his large bull dog. I just shook my head and a family noticed, and the wife said to me... You too!? I said, I cant believe a place would allow, a nasty animal in a place like a restaurant. I said Im really sick of people bringing their nasty animals everywhere they go. Especially a restaurant. Sooo,.FAIL..

Good food and nice quite place but the last two times in had to ask the help not to sweep by our table and today the young guy kept sweeping close by after being told please stop. I had to get up to get our drinks refilled. The cook got a different girl out of the back to fill our drinks. The sweeping wouldnt have been so bad if he would have got the dead full sized dead roach under one of the center tables. Didnt want to freak out my daughter by mentioning it to our waiter if she did happen to come back by. The place is nice and clean and i understand no place can keep from getting an occasional bug. 4-6-24 at 2:30 The older lady had no personality and acted like she didnt want to be there and the young school kid sweeping didnt like being told its wrong to sweep while people are eating is why he kept sweeping close to us.. Sometimes good help is hard to find and i doubt they will be there next time i go..

Let me say this first...its one of the most clean restaurants Ive ever been to, with that being said, the food was nothing to write home about. I had the BUCK Burger, which had breaded and fried jalapeño coins in the burger. Ive had burgers with a wide variety of toppings but this one...I am NOT a fan of. I personally would serve them on the side. Imagine the mess from the breading getting gummy with the avocado.The meat on the burger needs more help with a lot of seasonings. It was so bland and had nothing to entice you to really say WOW. So needless to say I wont be having that burger again. I would love to go back for the all you can eat pancakes, but well see. Do you have sugar-free syrup or sugar free jam? Perhaps plain honey? I wish you the best on your venture and endeavors. ~^..^~ UPDATE: 1:29 pm...when you call to ask a question and both times you get hung up on, speaks Volumes!! The food here was truly mediocre at BEST. I m so confused about how this place has so many good reviews. We live in a small town and really look forward to eating good food when visiting a bigger town. This place left us all feeling so disappointed. We got a mix of breakfast and lunch and it was all equally meh. For the money we spent, we wished we would have gone to Olive Garden or Huddle house or anywhere else. The atmosphere was the best thing about this place. Kid-friendliness: They have a separate dining room that was completely empty so they placed us there so we d all be more comfortable and that was appreciated by everyone in and out of our party of 6.

Personally think the food is great but the wait staff is terrible I always have to wait 10-15 minutes to get seated even if there not busy this has happened literally ever time I go to eat 15+ times I ve tried to call in pick up orders and they never answer the home I walked in to order carry out and called while waiting at the greeters podium and listen to the two waitresses complain about the phone ringing and saying they werent going to answer it (they had 4 tables with customer at them 3 of which were already eating) but they were to busy to take a phone order and make some money these have been issues since this place has opened and I live less than a mile from this location and I like the food but would rather drive across town then deal with waiting to sit or not being able to simply make a phone order for pick up

Treated myself to a sit-down meal. I had to move around as the AC was blasting out every vent. Service was fast The burger was good and at the right price. I decided to get an all meat pizza to take home for my family and it taisted like something from a chain store of lower quality than Id expect from this company.Disgusting! The food is decent nothing special. The servers would rather be doing anything but attending to the tables constantly running outside or disappearing someone from the kitchen had to come out and take my order because the servers were to busy talking outside. One person got my drinks another took my order and someone else brought my food. Took 10 minutes to get a refill and there was only one other table there that also was not being helped. They give you your food and basically forget about you until they bring you the check. I got my food 5 minutes before my husband did I was already almost done with half my plate before he got his. There were nats flying around the windows and when we tried to leave we had to wait to be let out they had locked the door an hour before closing.

I guess it depends on the day and time you go here. My first experience was great. Fast service, great grilled chicken salad with actual salad greens. This time however, it was like they have whole new management or cooks or something. Very wilted bad parts of plain iceberg lettuce, it was not even edible. Very very slow service. We had to finally go up to the register to get someone to give us a ticket so we could leave. The only nice thing was the manager took the salad off the ticket since it was so terrible, but I will probably never come here again.

We were seated right away because it was empty. Our order took a good while only to be cold, the green beans were so cold I didnt eat them. My husbands broccoli and fish was cold as well. We ordered a milk shake, it was way smaller than before served in a broken plastic cup. Had empty drinks. And last we were over charged on the meal was not given a receipt. Worst experience ever!! My tacos were cold, no one even offered to fix it. My mothers onion rings had mustard on them when no one had mustard on the table, when asked we got lied to.Alex was our server and he had the worst attitude toward our table. He could care less about any issues we had at the table. We couldn t even get refills, when we finally got refills someone else brought them. Also we were told we couldn t order once we sat down because the kitchen was backed up, we waited over 20 minutes just to let us put in our order, when most others in the restaurant were already served or ordered. Almost all food served was cold, this was meant to be a Mother s Day. Then as we left they yelled have a Happy Mother s Day obnoxiously then laughed. Very disappointed! Let me start by saying that the coffee is excellent. If there were half stars I would give this place a 3 and 1/2. Basically, its a corporate restaurant thats trying to be a country cafe and missing the mark. It is very clean and open. The service is good, we really liked our waitress. Local neighborhood place! I had the Basin Burger w the fried jalapenos and guac ....and it was fantastic. The service was good and our waitress was friendly and sweet. Well definitely be back. I stopped in for lunch and had a chicken fried steak sandwich and an order of onion rings. The food was excellent. I only waited a few minutes for my food to arrive. I was greeted within 15-20 seconds after walking in the door was seated immediately by the hostess and my server Elizabeth was at my table to greet me as soon as I sat down. I am extremely pleased with my experience here. I will be back and I would recommend eating here to others. Great job to all of the Rustic Cafe staff.

I have to say im extremely disappointed with the overall food quality and portion size We had the Chicken Fried steak that looked huge but was 80% batter and a tough piece of steak there was a side of mash potatoes and mack and chees both approx 2 tablespoons of each. we ordered brisket queso without the bbq sauce. we received it with bbq sauce and had to have it redone. thay being said it was very good. we also ordered the new york strip it was cooked well and pretty good and a decent value. the picture below shows the left over batter from the chicken fry. For the record we had burgers from there the other day and they were delicious it was 51 plus tip for 2 of us its def not worth the price

Food was wonderful. Even short staffed, the GM came out and helped wait and bus tables. Food was fast to the table and hot. Biscuits and gravy are a must have along with the rustic potatoes. Two rustic breakfasts only set you back about $27. You will be full and satisfied when you leave.

We visited the Rustic Cafe last night and both ended up ordering a cheeseburger. I originally ordered the pancake breakfast as I was told on an earlier occasion that the Rustic Cafe serves breakfast all day long. Our waiter, Kyle, told me that they didn t have pancakes! I thought was odd, since they say the serve breakfast all day & how hard is it to keep pancake batter made & stored ?? However, i accepted his response, & ended up ordering a cheese burger like my husband. We had seen burgers served there previously & was his main reason for wanting to eat there last night, was to try the burger, as it always has looked so good!!. We have visited the Rustic Cafe several times now since it s opening & with each visit had an issue with each meal. First of all I want to say that the restaurant is beautiful, the staff is very professional, & it is very clean. It may be the manager or cook that is the issue here, not the waitstaff. Having said that, the restaurant in itself is very much something that is very desirable as customers (retirees) who eat out 2-3 times a week ...And in spite of some food issues we will continue to visit & hope some of the food issues are resolved. The cheeseburgers were served & looked wonderful, the vegetables, grilled bun, etc, I thought were above average. However, the meat used in the burger was not!!. It was maybe one of the worst meat patties I / we both have eaten. It was tasteless, no good old beef flavor at all, & very dry! I questioned whether it was really beef or some mixture with tofu or something?? The presentation was great, but the flavor of a good ole, old fashioned juicy burger was definitely missing. There are many fast food burgers in our area that beat this meat patty by 100%. We will never order a burger there again!. Hopefully, they will change these patties to a better quality of beef. However, the onion rings & french fries served with the burgers were great!! Secondly, we have ordered breakfast there 2-3 times & each time they have been without the potatoes on the menu & substituted with tater tots which are not what they show on the menu! They should mention this and give you another choice. It should be explained that they don t have the piotatoes on the menu & not automatically assume everyone likes tater tots. Thirdly on another occasion, we ordered chicken fried steak & shared it, along with sides.& ordered an extra side of potatoes. The chicken fried steak was great & plenty big to share, but the sides were not!! They are really small portions. Also, the cooks were really stingy with the cream gravy on the steak & on the mashed potatoes. We mentioned that the gravy didn t even cover the steak & asked for more gravy, our waitress brought us gravy in a small bowl but it was only filled halfway. In fact, my husband mentioned that it was only half-full, waitress looked embarrassed, but didn t bother to offer to fill it. However, we did notice that she charged us for an extra bowl of gravy when we paid out !! Which i thought was a little too much!! However, we didn t say anything at the time, just paid it! WE also always tip well, so maybe the cook needs to keep in mind, when prepping plates. I mean how expensive is gravy mix??

Brand New restaurant. Really good food, freindly service. Clean new facility. Reminds me of a old fashioned diner. Not a specialty chain store selling one major thing. Good selection of many different menu items. Not just burgers, not just chicken, not just (whatever the one item is on the menu). Chicken fried steaks (CFS), burgers, salads, chicken, etc... Quality food that was cooked properly. Not over seasoned with salt or pepper or chili peppers etc. My CFS was tender, and was real tenderized meat. It wasnt like a mass of mystery meat ground and pressed into an artificial patty and dunked in a mush of liquid batter before its deep fried like other chain restaurants just slop out and call it a CFS. It also had just right amount of hand dry batter method. Although It could have used just a little more of the white gravy but I do like lots of sawmill gravy but thats not a big deal. The sides were good too. My wife had a burger and she really enjoyed it as well.

Great server, good seasoned fries. But... Grilled chicken platter is 12.99 and its small, overcooked like rubber. Green beans are over seasoned and sour. Omelettes are $10, smaller than your hand and served with no potato. Just one single overcooked piece of meat and toast. Overpriced for the quality of food. So disappointing after hearing about how good the food was.
