So most people who know me know that I am highly critical about food! To me, great food and good company is the very essence of life. A fine restaurant like Flair Taverna is what has been missing in this area for a long time. The care, quality and love that goes into the food, and the service, is remarkable. Loudest music ever. No way to have a conversation. You re in a bar, not a rock concert. Server was great, atmosphere without music great. Food was bland at best. Calamari is pre breaded frozen overcooked. The shrimp was cooked to death. The bread they bring you had to be left out from last week. The bartender though, they rocked it. Go on a night there is no music or don t sit in bar. Don t let the really nice write up about the food fool you. Chef must have been on break.

The food was great but the reason for the review is because of the excellent experience! We went last night (Friday), and there was a live band playing. Thankfully, we had made a reservation because when we got there, it started filling up fast. Not long after we sat down, we were introduced to our waitress whose name is Ashley. She was magnificent! Our water glass never got empty, we never had plates sitting in front of us that were empty. The musical experience was wonderful by Eric Baker and his lovely wife. It was such a romantic experience. There were some cowboys getting really loud and yelling at the bar ruining the atmosphere, but they left soon after. I assume someone said something to them. this was such a romantic place, especially if you re looking for a date night. Very classy, and upscale. My boyfriend got the lobster risotto (pictured) and he said it was amazing! He also got the Murphy (pictured) and said it was OK. I got the fettuccine and it was OK. The charcuterie board was pretty decent, and their wine list is not excellent, but I got the rosé that paired well with the fettuccine (pictured) and charcuterie board. My boyfriend got a cocktail called the Roxxi (pictured) and he absolutely loved it. Overall, it was one of the best experiences. We will be back. It is a little pricey, so be prepared for that. For everything we got however, it was not that bad. I should also mention that we went around 6 PM or so. The later crowd that started coming in as we were getting ready to leave started changing the atmosphere a little bit. Definitely recommend!

The lobster bisque had absolutely ZERO lobster. It was just cream. Literally just cream. There were three caprese and only two small baguettes. There was no basil on it but rather some pesto in a cup. The Nina s would have been ok had it had more tomatoes.

I recently hosted a client dinner at Flair Taverna and was thoroughly impressed. The service was superb truly the best Ive experienced at any establishment in Odessa. From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive and professional, ensuring that every detail was perfect. The food was delicious, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Well, the food fell short. I was having High hopes from seeing reviews thats why I always have to go myself ! We ordered the cheese bread for an appetizer, it was like 10 dollars for 4 bites of the thinnest bread dish Ive ever seen, nice presentation though. We ordered drinks that took a long time to get there. They have a lot of waitresses making sure your water is full, but speak a little English and cant help with checking on drinks or anything. I ordered a Lobster Risotto dish also for an appetizer It came out pretty quick, as I was eating the dish I noticed you can barely see any Lobster meat at all, thatd were a few minces of meat. I would have been happy with a few small chunks, but almost non existent. I shine that off, then go on to Ordering the rack of lamb, cooked medium . They did great on the cook! The flavor could have used a little more seasoning and some acid(a red wine reduction or balsamic vinegar blend would have brought the dish full circle), it came with risotto but needed something else on the side like Asparagus. My wife ordered the Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine pasta, the pasta itself was good, the flavors were lacking though and that could definitely throw in some more ingredients in there! It was pretty Basic, and the chicken was like like pieces, Im a cook and wouldnt serve any pasta with chicken looking like that ! It was nice inside, nice setting, staff was nice, also had live music but the band wasnt great and I just wasnt sucked into the experience like I hoped I was. It was super expensive, for what you get really not worth it for me. I would probably go to the bar for a few drinks maybe but I wouldnt go for dinner again. Overall it fell short, Id give it a 3.4 out of 5 stars and I could Not Reccomend!

Went to Flair Taverna on Saturday. We started with the calamari. Awesome! Cooked perfectly. Maybe the best breaded calamari Ive ever had. Dad had the rack of Lamb. Said it was absolutely wonderful. I took a bite and was wishing I had gotten that as well. Out of this world. My Dads wife had the chicken parm which is a bit boring but she really enjoyed it. I had the Seafood Paella. The shrimp, clams, and mussels were great. It had a taste I was not thrilled with however, I had never had this dish and knew there was a chance I may not like it. It was cooked well, I had just never had it and wanted to try it. The shrimp were out of this world but the dish in its entirety was not my favorite. May have been the Spanish chorizo or saffron. Our waitress Ashley was absolutely wonderful. She recommended the calamari and I could have eaten a bucket of it. Give this place a shot. Really good food and the staff are the best.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The food was absolutely perfectly prepared. Honestly, one of the best lamb dishes I ve had in a restaurant. Ubique, cooked perfectly. The lobster ravioli was sublime. How disappointing. This is a long review because I m Pissed. TERRIBLE SERVICE and overpriced food I read all the great reviews. Maybe it was an off night idk I have been on a road trip with my 12 yr old and 2 yr old camping and hiking for days . We had on the road for 6 hrs and were so hungry . I wanted a nice dinner . Read reviews and made reservations. We checked in hotel and ran to eat. Now like I said I have a 2 yr old who has been in car all day. So I had a window of time to get dinner and out before there was a melt down. Let s start with the waitress brought 2 waters. There were 3 of us I asked her if she could bring a drink for my 2 yr old daughter. She said we only have to go cups umhhhhh okay can you bring her one. SHE NEVER DID. Crab cakes are basically sweet hush puppies. And truffle fries taste like normal fries. I really wanted to try a few things on the menu after camping for a few days but After that I was nervous to order multiple $60 dishes Couldn t decide between salad and chicken. The waitress was rushing me acting aggravated by my questions Asked me if I wanted to add meat to my salad I said yes, steak. Then she said it will be a whole steak . Okay , what cuts . You can get a filet it will be an extra $46. Umhhh I m still asking about what kind , I didn t ask the price yet. But I was getting irritated so I said don t worry about it . I asked her for a drink menu . She NEVER brought it. But all the couples with men at the table she was helping all had drink menus and were getting drinks back to back. I had to ask someone else for a drink menu , a drink for my 2 year old and ordered a drink. Kids pasta was good. My spinach salad was decent . Dressing and pecans and goat cheese were good on it. My 12 year old is a vegetarian who eats Caesar salad everywhere we go. She never complains. She said the dressing was sour. I tasted it. It was sour . I had to ask someone else for a water refill and told them my daughter didn t like the salad because the waitress never checked on us Waitress came and told me nobody had Ever complained about dressing Okay well just take it and we will get a kids meal. That was good . Bread pudding was decent. Had to wait forever for everything and ask other people When she brought check because now my 2 year old is ready to go I see the Caesar salad and a $3 sprite is on the bill . . I asked her if kids meals came with drinks. No . Okay annoying but whatever . How is it you can charge me for a sprite but didn t even bring a drink. At this point I m sooooooo annoyed because I just wanted a nice dinner and it s not that she was busy. It was that she was busy catering to tables with couples . I don t know if it was because I was a woman or because we were dressed like we were going to wal mart but she have everyone better service than us. As I was leaving she asked the gentleman next to me is he wanted a drink and gave him a drink menu as soon as she went to table . I told her to take Caesar salad off the check and run my card. She goes over there . Complains about me to the other ladies for a good 3 to 4 minutes while I m waiting on my credit card and my 2 year old is now throwing her toy cat at the table next to me . I tipped her a dollar. And that makes me mad because I am big on tipping . The restaurant is cute and probably something special for a small town. I wish I would have went to a steak house here. I would have got my moneys worth. Do better and train your servers to treat everyone the same . This restaurant would not survive in a bigger city. Very SUBPAR

I was really hopeful.The food and menus looked delicious. We arrived and we re seated in a back room. The music did not match the ambiance. The music was like club music and loud for the setting. The staff was friendly. Very uncomfortable having someone 5 feet away watching you eat your food, and rushing to clean your table. The silverware was very dated and some were dirty. To top it off our crab cakes had hair in it. (I didn t realize this until I had cut into our last one ) My husband got the top sirloin, which was mostly fat. He order the lobster Mac and cheese.. that was good. My filet was cooked well, but tasted sweet for some reason. Otherwise it was a very good dish. I would suggest other steak houses over this one.

Just moved to the area this last year and havent found very many spots we like. We were recommended this restaurant a few times and finally went for a date night. WOW, so good!! I had the Scottish Salmon and my husband had the Ribeye. Both were very good but the ribeye was truly the best steak we have ever had. Also ordered a few cocktails including some sangrias and the chocolate martini, martini was delicious. We also ordered the chocolate cake to go and was under the impression it came with ice cream, sadly we didnt get the ice cream with it though and were a little disappointed

The atmosphere was great. The service was excellent. The food was woefully unseasoned. The Ceasar salad dressing tasted suspiciously of Thousand Island. The ribeye was ridiculously tough with too much gristle. Neither of our ribeyes were cooked correctly and there was zero salt in anything. The bacon in the Brussel sprouts was not cooked and there was no garlic in the garlic mashed potatoes. We were understandably disappointed.

I walked into this restaurant for lunch with high hopes after hearing about many people rave about this place. When I walked in we were seated right away. Our waitress soon after took our drink orders and then disappeared. The waitress seamed to be a cross between half high and angry. She seemed to be annoyed by our requests for water, and we didnt seem to eat fast enough to suit her as she came by 6 times during our main course to ask if we were done. She wouldnt refill our water and instead sent another server to come do that. I ordered the smoked old fashioned for my drink. I found this drink to be yet another poor attempt at a SMOKED Old Fashioned. They bring the drink to the table and light a dish with small wood shavings in it and then put a lid over the top and and trap the smoke in the glass for all of 10 seconds before letting it go. This is not a Smoked Old Fashioned, it is however a good attempt at a traditional Old Fashioned. We ordered the hummus for an appetizer. It had a very mild flavor, and was on the verge of almost tasteless. The saving grace for this appetizer was the pita bread which had a very strong and slightly sweet flavor on its own, which when mixed with the Hummus brought some flavor to the dish. My next course I ordered a soup, the Lobster Bisque. There was no meat whatsoever in this bisque and it was way too soupy. I would have to equate it to a very watered down bisque at best. There was also no Lobster taste to this Lobster Bisque. Instead this Lobster Biaque had a very buttery taste and that was about all I was able to taste in this Bisque. I ordered for my main course the Fruiti di Mari. The mussels and clams were well done, soft and flavorful. The Shrimp was also done well. The calamari and lobster were very chewy and rubbery and were way overcooked. My wife ordered the Chilean sea bass. This fush dish was very flaky, soft, and cooked to perfection with a slight crust full of flavor. The Lobster risotto was light, explosive in flavor with good sized Lobster chunks. All in all, this was a very disappointing experience and very lackluster food. Not at all worth the hype or the price. I will not be returning and recommend you go elsewhere for your dining experience.

My wife and I recently spent an evening at Flair Taverna. I play in a music group that played a show at the restaurant/bar/club. We must say, Wow, what a nice place. The people, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, are top notched. This was our first trip as a couple (married for 31 yrs.) to Odessa, Tx. but it won t be our last. Go check it out for yourself, you won t be disappointed. Parking: Giant parking lot, no problem there. In a nice area as well.

First time going here, and maybe the last. Everyone messes up, but they are consistent. They atmosphere is top notch in Odessa, but that is where the compliments stop. They refill your water out of a metal pitcher, and it is already dark in the restaurant. There was a dead fly that fell out of the pitcher into my water glass, and the waitress didnt even check and walked away. I didnt order, but my friend did. They extremely undercooked my friend steak to the point where blood was on his mashed potatoes. They tried to fix it to be a medium well (because he doesnt like blood and religious reasons), and they brought it back again red in the center. I have never had a fly in my drink, and it maybe a small thing, but not in a restaurant that is supposed to be high end. Hold yourself to a better standard of food and drinks than Applebees.

Popped in accidently not knowing what to expect. Turned out to be a group of good people working together. Welcomed as I arrived and seated quickly. Live music playing, good people behind the bar. I need to visit again as I know that Brown Sneakers plays there frequently. Food looks really good but this visit didnt try. We ate here as a party of 11. My wife was served someone else meal. Every time he would order a beer, it was delivered to her. His salad, followed by his entree, was also served to her. My ribeye was overcooked and mediocre. I thought some steak sauce would help the situation, but I did not receive it till I literally ate my last piece. Like I said, the steak was not bad, but it wasnt worth the price I paid. The bread that was served was compared to hockey pucks and dog biscuits by many of our group. I was very hard, and the oil provided did not soften it up. Lastly, and probably my biggest complaint was that there was an automatic 20% tip added to every ticket. The service was not worth the AUTOMATIC tip. Several checks had to be altered. I would consider it a fiasco. I would eat here again, but only if someone was treating me! We will enjoy a steak house named after a Texas steer!

This was my first time here, as well as it being my fiancé & our anniversary, it was a great experience. From the attentiveness to their service, the overall atmosphere was great. Raul was a great server and very informative on making a good first impression from the menu, drink specials, and the live music on the weekends. The food was delicious and well portioned for the price I would give a 5 star if it wasn t for the lack of air conditioning, with it being hot outside it was pretty warm inside.

We came to Flair Taverna for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. Loved that we could make a reservation on Open Table ahead of time so that we knew there wouldn t be a long wait time. Our waiter, Raul, was fantastic. He was very attentive and took care of every need. I made the mistake of wearing a white shirt and he taught me that white wine will remove stains in an instant. Who knew?? We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Everything was so good and fresh. Only complaint was that the pepperoni pizza was very greasy so we had to use napkins to soak up some of the grease but it was delicious. I had the ribeye and it was fantastic. Husband had Lobster ravioli and he was in heaven. Crab cakes were delicious although a little small for the price. I ordered a spicy margarita and it was very spicy but delicious. We enjoyed our meal and will go back for special occasions. It is pricey so probably not somewhere we will visit on a regular night out but for special occasions it s worth a visit.

The first time was delicious & awesome service. When we visited recently for Father s Day, our fried mozzarella sticks were burned. The batter was actually black. The Flair Chicken was the same. Burnt. I wish I would ve taken pictures /: it was pretty disappointing especially for the price you pay. I couldn t understand how it even left the kitchen that way. Friends told us they had a great meal at Flair Tavern. Since they had a great meal ,we decided to go with them. This was our first meal at Flair Tavern. I had the Chicken Al lime which sounded great. Needless to say, it was anything but great.. The disappointment started with the Chicken. For the price ,you would think that there would be a breast on the plate. One piece was a chicken back. An exceptional restaurant in this area, really enjoyable. Great food and service, they prepared my steak perfectly. My friend ordered a seafood dish that he said was excellent also. The service was super slow. Waitress brought us bread without butter. By the time she brought us the butter, we were out of bread. They didnt bring out all of the appetizers that were ordered at the same time. Terrible terrible service and communication between waitress and kitchen staff. Did I mention it was a $700 ticket? Wonderful experience at Flair Taverna. We went for Valentines and they had a rose on the table. Our server was so attentive. There was live music and even the sound person came to our table to check on the noise level and made adjustments to the sound system. Our table was close to the speakers, that was so nice of her. Our dining experience was excellent. My husband had the ribeye and it was served with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts along with dips. I had the flare chicken, it was amazing. Breaded chicken, shrimp over noodles with Alfredo. For dessert we shared a tiramisu that was delicious. Great food, great service . We will be returning.

Tonight was our very first visit to Flair! My husband made reservation us for VDAY! We were set in Miguel s section!!! Such a WIN FOR US!! What a nice man and the service was PHENOMENAL! If you do one thing in your life. Please. Go to this restaurant. If I was on death row. I would want my last meal from this establishment. If I had a terminal illness and was told I had only 2 weeks to live , I d eat at this restaurant every day for lunch and dinner. The cocktail I had tasted like a magician himself created and mixed this potion of deliciousness in a magical cauldron. My appetizer had so much flavor in those little crab cake balls that I almost cried. The lobster bisque was so amazing I swear France couldn t make it that good. And my salmon tasted so fresh it was like aqua man himself brought the chef the salmon from the seas and he cooked it right then and there. I will also add I do not like carrots. I now love carrots if they are from this restaurant. And dessert. Oh my god. Just. Fabulous. Please please go here. It will save your marriage or get you that promotion at work. I promise you. Jesus had this place cater the last supper. And we don t hear any complaints in the Bible about that do we ? They also never let my water glass get even half empty.
