Cozy quaint place. Service was fine. But both steaks that were ordered were over cooked and the sides weren t anything special. The salads were also cafeteria like. Overall it was okay but nothing amazing.

New to Odessa, I was eager to try all the cool places everyone says are popular. This steakhouse was one of them though I love all the history and western atmosphere the manager lady was grumpy and visibly upset at her staff. Not busy Saturday early evening. As we sat she slammed down a pile of menus on the table next to us as to call the attention to the guys off to the side to help her push tables together. I ordered a 8oz sirloin because I never finish big steaks, and I ordered it Medium. I attached a picture of what I got. It was hard and shriveled. I picked it up like a hockey puck. I tried to eat it and not complain but eventually my husband said just send it back hopefully this helps someone in making their dinner choice, this was just our experience.

Christina did an amazing job! 10/10 recommend her and this delicious place. I had the thickest cut rib eye steak with a loaded baked potato. And my coworker had the 30 oz prime rib. All recommendations from our amazing server. We tried the wings as an appetizer. The buttermilk chess and cheesecake. Simply delicious and relaxing atmosphere!

Seriously what happened to this beloved restaurant a premier hallmark when in Odessa. I have had multiple meals here for as far back as I can remember. Many birthdays, anniversaries, meetings and just a lunch or supper. I have always bragged on this place to anyone here for the 1st time. Just as tonight our guests were going through the area. I can understand the price increase. For that matter what hasn t gone up except for your pay? Our server Caleb was busting it as best he could. But what I noticed he was hampered by the rest of the staff. Slow cook, bartender, and others assigned to insure everything was timely and right. If anything our experience was a bust. To a point I don t have enough time to state it. I ll next time go down the street to the Marriott restaurant. New ownership don t let this iconic restaurant go. Get back in the game or give it back.

One of the restrooms was out of order (or just needed to be cleaned). They said they were short staffed the day we went so it took it bit to get our food. Although, the waitresses were very kind and the steak and catfish were good.

We had a company party there....not really the best food even for being buffet style serve yourself the food should be dried out and tough. I have never ate there other than company parties. I dont think I would go there just from my experiences so far.

My wife and I love this place. We have never had a bad experience. All the food is amazing, the building is amazing and has some interesting history, and last night our waiter named Aaron was probably the best service I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. I highly highly recommend this place to all.

Back a few years ago, Barn door was our family favorite. Now it s actually kind of sad. The food is generally good, but you can tell it is not being managed well. Not very clean and service is a bit hit and miss. We always had the best when Scott worked there and managed the place. It s slipped significantly in his absence.

Excellent, prime rib was the best I have had in a long time and the potato skins were outstanding. Expect to sit back and relax as the food comes out slowly. So bring good company and enjoy the atmosphere. Once the food does come out you will find that it was worth the wait. So if you are in a hurry this is not the place for you, the motto is good things come to those that wait. Really enjoyed it!

This place seems to be going down hill. The last time me and my friend came, the bread wasn t baked long enough, so the center was still a little raw. The Cheese wasn t as cold as it it should have been, either. My friends chicken and Macaroni came out and the macaroni was cold. He sent it back. The macaroni was warm now, but the chicken was cold now from the trip to the kitchen. He sent it back again, then the macaroni was cold again from the trip to the kitchen. Used to, the higher prices were justified because the food was so good. They re not anymore. They charge Saltgrass and longhorn prices, or more. And the food is of far less quality. I hope they can get their act together because I would HATE to see this Odessa gem go away.

Great place for Odessa. We really loved the giant block of cheese you get to eat off of while you are there. I think it is better than all street in Midland. I recommend going when Im the area. Prime rib was good but the grilled shrimp that came with it a was great. Service was good. Dessert looked great but we were all too full after our main course.

Ive been here three times in the past year since I moved to Odessa. The first two times Ive been here they do take a little time to get your food out to you, but Im taking this because its they cook it fresh to order, Ive had the prime rib Ive had the ribeye and some seafood and theyve all been very good unfortunately the third time being in here tonight, they were understaffed in the cooking area, fortunately I was there talking business with a co-worker and even though it took almost an hour and a half to get our food out the waitress made the difference she was very apologetic very pleasant and nice the food still came out very exceptional and because of her actions I still left a good tip. I still give this place a 5-star rating.

Had my grandfathers bday here half the table got food while the rest of us had to watch everyone else eat. When we finally got food I ordered the ribeye steak was nothing but fat and gristle and wasnt even a thick cut. I would recommend Texas Roadhouse or Logans for a great steak. The barn door is about as outta date as Joe Dirt hair due!!!
