The café de olla with the concha was good, whole reason I wanted to go here in the first place, took over 10 mins to get out drink order taken & when the waitress finally came she went straight to us ordering food instead of getting us drinks, had to repeatedly ask for water & didn t get it til my friend started choking! The owner is nice, place is overcrowded tho so is the parking. You have to pay upfront soon as they take your order so they never bother to check back on you once they bring out your food, wanted to make a to go order but no one ever came back to the table. Girl at the cash register, Janet, is rude, food was okay small portions.

This was my first time here. I came specifically to try the cafe de olla which I highly reccomend!!! I had it iced so the WARM concha served with it... was an amazingly delicious contrast. I had to try the birra because you could smell it walking in. the meat was tender and I could literally drink the consume, it was so good. Beautiful decor, clean and the owner is very nice and hands on. I will be back!!!!

If you re craving a delicious home cooked breakfast My Maria is the place to go. Their coffee is delicious and all their food is very comforting! It is a very popular small hole in the wall so there s limited parking and seating. Parking: Parking lot was free but limited. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, but it was tight inside the building so we opted to leave our stroller in the car.

The service was excellent, food was delicious, and the restaurant itself is absolutely adorable! The cafe de olla was an excellent pick-me-up. Don t pass up on adding a conchita; they re soft and just the right amount of sweet, it did not overpower the flavor of the coffee. The birria was perfect and the rice and beans were also very good. My one note (and this is just personal preference) is that i will be asking for my birria tacos to be a little extra crispy.

I was initially hesitant when I entered the restaurant because everyone was speaking Spanish. Thankfully, the staff spoke English at the counter! I ordered the birria noodles, which were delicious. I requested spicy salsa for an extra kick, and it was perfect! The cold coffee with peanut butter flavor was also amazing, even better than Starbucks! It was my first time trying conchas, and although they werent what I expected, my friend assured me thats how theyre supposed to be. The owners were friendly and down-to-earth. They accept cash and cards. The parking lot is small, so it might be challenging if you have a big truck. Overall, I loved it and cant wait to go back! * Indoor and outdoor seating available * Highly recommended!

I highly recommend the café de olla, it s a must if you haven t tried it. It s Mexican roast coffee with spices and brown sugar prepared in a clay pot. They serve the coffee in custom clay coffee cups if you stay to eat. It s so aesthetically pleasing that you can taste the difference in the coffee preparation as opposed to any coffee otherwise. They also offer a conchita on the side for your first cup for $2. The service here is so warm that coming from Midland, it was a great surprise because most people act cold there, so I enjoyed having such friendly staff checking in on me since I ate solo today. The owner/ manager herself checked in on me after I finished and offered a second cup of coffee, so I wanted to make sure her restaurant received a just review. It s a smaller establishment, but very quick service that most groups that came in were in and out and no one stood around waiting for a table. I m thoroughly impressed with this small-business. I didn t see one hiccup or unhappy patron. I wish I lived closer, I would frequent here every weekend.

Cozy and welcoming. As soon as you enter the place, the staff greets you with a sample of their delicious cafe de holla. The cafe de olla is served accompanied of a conchita (pan dulce). Their traditional plates are prepared from scratch, fresh ingredients, flavorful plates served and presented to you on traditional Mexican pottery. Authentic Mexican breakfast!!!

I ordered birria tacos and they were too lacking in meat and cheese with a single tortilla, they give you the order of three tacos, rice and beans, the rice was reheated because it was too beaten, the beans were tasteless and whole without cooking and they were also necessary since there was Eat meat tacos and they want you to fill up on the rice and beans. The pot coffee is good with the concha that comes with it, only that is what they want to sell you and they dont offer you a entre so you fill up on coffee and bread. Im sorry it didnt meet my expectations.

Today was my third time visiting. The first time was great. The second was not so great, as we waited over an hour and watched people who just got there being served. Today was my third and last time i go. I experienced the same exact issue.IT SHOULD BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. SOMEONE SHOULD REALLY ORGANIZE HOW YOUR PUTTING ORDERS IN AND OUT. Me and a friend went in today for our lunch break. Again, we watched people just arriving eating while we had 45 min waiting and still no food. I went and asked for a refund, i was asked if i wanted them in to go plates. I said yes assuming it was ready. So agai. Still wa9ting and i watched 2 more customers get their food. This spot is an absolute YES!!! Everything tasted authentic like momma and Uelas cooking! I loved the Chilaquiles Montadas. Perfect portions to fill you up! The Chile Verde was really good. Dont forget your Lemonade, Champurado with a panisito, or your Cafe de Olla!! We will definitely be back!!! UPDATE: I made it back with some friends to try out more food! Today I had the Quesobirria Tacos and the Iced Cafe de Olla. Both amazing! I think the tacos could have used more queso. I dont recall tasting queso in them. I didnt open them to look and see if there was any there as I devoured them too quickly. I tasted my friends menudo because she said she didnt like it. I think it was good. Im assuming the almost bland flavor is what she was talking about. It comes with sides of lime and onion. It could use more salt and more chile, but that something you can add to your own preference. The pozole was the harder type of pozole rather than soft. It your not a fan of harderJuanitas like hominy....get the Chilaquiles instead.

The food has no flavor and the plate portions are small. If you complain about something they just look at you ugly and make you feel like you re the one at fault. Ordering at the counter takes more time and it s pricey for the portions. The birria tacos had no flavor and it seems they have favorites of customers, which is mostly just family. Family is the only people trying to give 5 stars to this place but then trying it not as a family member shows they don t care about anyone else or trying to give great customer service and instead of making your experience better they make it worse. I do NOT recommend this place! Honest review here!

I had previously gone and it seemed good to me, and I recommended someone who came to visit to see Odessa and wow, what an ugly, even racist, treatment I could say, the one that was given to us and by the person who seems to be the owner, if we had been Americans, no. They treat us like that, we ask for coffee and the food is ordered there in a box and then you go to sit down, we ordered and American people who arrived after us asked them if it was taken before us we went to ask and say what was happening and they did. What did he tell us? Well, if he doesnt like it, hell return his money, so how are you going to say that to a client???!! When I could say excuse me in a moment I will solve them but no!! We also ordered pot coffee and they brought it to us at a regular rate when they supposedly serve it in clay cups but they give it to the other people who arrive after us! I mean, lady, for Gods sake. The truth is that it bothered me because the thing about giving us money back and that bothered me. I wont go again or recommend it. Apart from the food, they dont serve it on plates, they say it in aluminum trays! No ! 0 stars

As soon as you enter, the owner, the mom, greets you from her seat at the table nearest the door. Shes still wearing her apron, soiled from preparing the food for the day. She proceeds to extol the virtues of her famous Chilaquiles and Cafe de Olla. If youve been to, say, Fuddruckers, or Dickeys BBQ, or similar restaurants, then youll get how this place works. You place your order at the counter, pay, give your name, and then seat yourself. 15 - 20 minutes later, they bring out your food and drinks. There will be no server, hovering over you, or seeing if you need anything. Thats not how this place works... If you want water or anything, you ask for it. Cold water is served in a glass carafe with a stopper and disposable cups. The Cafe de olla is served in a Mexican clay pot with sweet bread on the side. Very festive and delicious! The coffee has cinnamon, cane sugar, and doesnt even need cream, because its so good. My husband ordered the breakfast plate. It came with 2 eggs, fried potatoes, refried beans, and a plate of 2 large, fluffy pancakes. I ordered the Chilaquiles Montados. The food was very good, hot, and the red sauce was not too spicy. Our coffee didnt come until after our food, but to her credit, the young girl working was new. Shell get the hang of it. Everyone has to start somewhere. I do recommend My Maria!

I came to visit, and well, looking for places I found this one. I usually dont let myself be guided by the reviews, I think that we all deserve second chances, anyway, this was my experience since we arrived, no one told us how this worked, we decided to sit down and we had a while, until The lady that I loved ordering told us here you take your order at the counter and then we bring you your food. Well to start the prices are a little high since the saucers are very small. I ordered pot coffee, it had a lot of coffee residue, it was cold. It looked greasy, it took 40 minutes to bring the food, when it was brought it was cold, it was just eggs, potatoes, the place is not full, there were like 4 women in the kitchen but I think the problem was the ones who served us because they were chatting, they didnt realize that the food was list that was my bad experience, sorry for my honesty.

The ONLY place I ve found here in Odessa that actually serves authentic Mexican food. My family and I moved here from California a year ago, so we know good Mexican food and this place is it! I had the birria chilaquiles and they were so so good, the conchas were the best I ve had, and the homemade tortillas are awesome!! The iced cafe de olla was amazing, I ll be replacing my starbucks with coffee from here. The owner also let me sample the cafe de olla hot and I m not a hot coffee fan but the coffee here changed that! The staff is super friendly! You definitely feel/taste the love, dedication, and hard work that goes into this restaurant. The only way of knowing is by trying it yourself, definitely will not be disappointed!

Our first time trying the new location and it was amazing. Upon entering, the owner greeted us and was so kind and helpful. She told us about the popular item on the menu and helped us make our selection. The tacos were crispy, and the beans and rice did not disappoint. The soup was well seasoned and different than anything Ive ever had. We will fo sure be coming back to try other menu items.

I love walking into a clean restaurant for one, the parking is easy even though its off Grant St. They were serving abondigas temporarily with a good serving of meat. I had the chili verde, for me personally I like chili verde to be more like sopa and the beef to be in cubes not shredded like this one is, but it was still good. For dessert a must try are the conchas, theyre brought out warm and the smell and taste is awesome.

This is my first time here since they took ownership of it. We had the Birria Noodles, Chilaquiles, and a burrito A La Mexicana. They make everything to order so it takes a bit longer than usual but it s definitely worth the wait! Come by and support your locally owned businesses!

Finally got to try it out. Saw that it had good reviews. The staff were very friendly, acknowledging me as soon as I walked in the door with a welcome and a smile. Ordered a few burritos to go, and tried the special coffee. You could tell the tortillas are hand made, and the portions are good. Similar as if your mom or grandma would give you to make sure you ate enough. The coffee was amazing never had anything like that. Highly recommend to try yourself.

I wanted to try this place out because Everyone said how great it was. I was very disappointed. I did not like that you have to order at the counter then sit down and the coffee was awful. I don t like cinnamon in my coffee. I told the girl i didn t like the coffee so they offered me another drink which I had to pay for. If I didn t like the coffee they should of not charged me to get another drink. So if I didn t like a certain plate of food and asked for something else I shouldn t get charge twice. I will not return to this restaurant.
