Was looking for sushi in the area when we came across this little gem. The quality of the food and service are always impeccable and we leave completely satisfied every time, especially for the price point. The owners always remember our faces and its nice to feel known amongst the sea of fast food chains. I could list so many delicious things from their menu but I never leave with our ordering the crispy rice or salmon sushi. I cant recommend this place enough.

When a restaurant gives out free food in exchange for five star reviews, it s not a good sign. Unfortunately, we saw this after we had ordered. They soak the spicy tuna heavily in soy sauce. When sushi grade fish is soaked in anything to mask the natural flavor, it s safe to assume it is low quality or even past date. Eek! The restaurant stinks of sulfur for some reason. Hopefully those two things aren t connected. The dumplings were soggy and flavorless. If you like good sushi, this is not the place to go. The staff was great though and I appreciate their friendliness. Management needs to reevaluate their approach.

I went here with my sister while I was visiting from North Carolina and the service was amazing, the atmosphere is so friendly, and the food is delicious!!! Not only do they have fresh amazing sushi they are the absolute sweetest people. Uber Eats dropped our order and did not deliver it. Sushi Avenue felt so bad even though it was not their fault in any way. They tried to give us a free speciality roll and they threw in edamame in our bag. We will always go back here.

Tried this restaurant since it has changed recently and it was great! All of the rolls we had were delicious and flavorful. Tons of roll options as well. We will definitely be back to try more. My husband and I were looking for a new sushi place and we found it! They even added a free little treat for Father s Day for my Hubby. They are super friendly! Dont miss this small & cozy sushi place tucked in the shopping center. It looks new and clean. It has a welcoming atmosphere, and the sushi was good. I started with hot tea. It was served with my own teapot. Love that! I chose a Sashimi Bento Box so I could try several different items. It included miso soup, house salad, shrimp tempura(2), gyoza(2), California roll(4), and 6 pieces Chefs choice of sashimi, all of which were delicious. It was prepared pretty quickly, and those serving were efficient and very courteous. Honestly, it was more food than I could eat, so I took some of my order home for later! Parking: There is parking in front of this restaurant, including wheelchair access. This is a shopping center of restaurants and other businesses with plenty of parking easily accessible.

Ive tried so many places around here based on Google reviews, and this is the first one thats lived up to the hype. The crispy rice was perfect. All the fish tasted fresh, and every roll was created with the right amount of fish/rice/sauce/other stuff. Just divine. Will definitely visit this place a few times before the move. My girlfriends & I decided to visit this hidden gem. We tried all four of their no rice rolls, crispy rice appetizer, takoyaki, heart attack, edamame, Texas Ranger roll, and most of their sushis. The rolls were not too big (we hate stupidly big rolls with too much rice, which wasn t the case! very happy) and the seasoning of all ingredients were just right. I stopped in for a quick lunch. I got the option that comes with 7 sashimi, 7 sushi, and a California Roll. It also came with Miso Soup and a salad, both of which were really good. The dressing had just the right amount of flavor without being overpowering. The fish was fresh and has zero fishy taste. The service was quick and great, though this may be different in a full shop. While a Cali Roll is pretty simp, some places have crab that leaves something to be desired, but not theirs. It had a nice sweetness and was very flavorful. It serves as a great palette cleanser for me. Made me appreciate the sashimi more I ll definitely be back, and I can t wait to try more of the rolls!

Lunch at Sushi Avenue was top notch! Their prices and quality are so reasonable compared other Japanese restaurants in the area. We tried Bleu, but we will be going back to Sushi Avenue. To start, we had Edamame at $3.99. It was warm and salty. Then we had the Sashimi Bento at $15.99 and the Sushi Bento at $13.99. Bentos include miso soup, 2 shrimp tempura, 2 gyoza, and salad. The miso soup was forgotten and needed a reminder. The green onion thrown in it before serving was still crunchy and overpowered the miso taste. The ahi tower was stunning beautiful but tasted mostly like mayonnaise. Even dousing it with siracha and wasabi didn t hide the Mayo taste and certainly did not help bring the fish or crab forward. The fish that I got (tuna and white tuna) were both tasty and fresh but not much of it. Clean, basic restaurant.

My friends and I have tried a few different sushi spots in the HEB area and have been disappointed with each one. I am very selective about where I get sushi from but this place is now my #1 choice. So many different rolls to choose from, which I really appreciate because I like to have a few different types of sushi when I m craving it. We went with the owner s top recommendations and all 3 were a hit, not a single roll left over. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, some of the best sushi I ve ever had honestly. Portions are generous and flavor/quality is better than more expensive sushi restaurants. From what I know the ownership has changed. Happened to pass by while looking for a meal and just had to stop in and try. It was a truly wonderful experience from the greeting, to the food, to saying good night. The service was spectacular, our server was very attentive, offered great suggestions, and answered all of our questions. The food was excellently prepared with fresh ingredients. The wasabi was delicate and delicious. The sashimi was perfectly cut and luscious. Their gyoza was delicious both steamed and fried. You must absolutely try the crispy rice, fried to perfection, and the cucumber salad, an excellent balance of acid and freshness that worked with every dish. Please stop by, everything is delectable and absolutely craveable. My wife and I will become regulars for sure.

I stopped by during my lunch break as the new restaurant owners are doing a soft opening today. The location is now called Sushi Avenue and mainly cater to sushi. The sunrise roll and the spicy salmon roll were delicious, and well prepared! I will be trying many more rolls. The employees were attentive, professional, and beyond friendly. Food is great. Been in a few times since the remodel, not once have I been impressed with the service. Always slow made a major mistake on my order twice, and while they offered to correct it Id already been waiting 30-45 minutes for my order. Im not going to sit around for another 15-20 for them to fix my order. Have music playing and various videos that are interesting, but its horribly cramped and difficult to find somewhere to sit comfortably. Wheelchair accessibility: I do not recommend this restaurant due to the cramped layout of the store unless you are getting take out. Even then if you are in anything other then a manual wheelchair you will likely have difficulty getting to where you can order your food.

We came here because we dont enjoy eating at over crowded places. To our surprise it was completely empty on a Saturday afternoon. Im assuming because there are so many options in the area. Namoo was good under previous ownership, this one not so much. What is so difficult to understand no rice and replacing it with japchae without an attempt to charge an additional 5.00 for it. I could understand a dollar or 2, but this is beyond ridiculous. That s an attempt to charge an additional 5.00 in profit for the same cost in food. Lost my business before you ever managed to earn it.
