I was disappointed to see Ernies appears to have closed. Our family has been eating there since we moved into the area in 1985, almost 40 years ago. The food was always good, the prices were reasonable and the staff and courtious. I know all good things come to an end, you will be missed, sorry to see you go. Ernies was the seafood equivalent to the TV show Cheers.

We didnt even successfully place an order. We were offered watered down drinks, and after this waiter did a weird salt ritual on the table/napkins, we were asked if we were ready to order. My husband said yes & began to speak, only to be interrupted and told by the waiter Im starting with The Lady. Well, The Lady wasnt ready to order & this was very rude in my opinion. I wont try this place again.

I want feeling well so I called and asked if my food could be brought to my car. Thaw waitress said of course. She promptly brought my food to me and I asked for a drink and she provided that as well. I ordered the gumbo which I normally don t order from a restaurant because it s normally very disappointing even expensive restaurants. I am Cajun from the Acadian area of Louisiana from a long line of excellent Cajun cooks. I m telling you what, this gumbo was great. It had a few extra herbs and different rice making it a little different twist but it wasn t far from the original gumbo I m used to. Plenty of seafood in every bite. I can t wait to try other food from there and I rarely eat out because I m to picky and would rather cook it myself. Thank you for a delightful experience.

When the best thing at a seafood restaurant is a baked potato thats kinda sad. The potato was delicious after I added salt and pepper. The seafood is bland. Hush puppies are very dry. Crackers in the basket on the table were stale. Service was good.

We visited this restaurant back in March 2024. Me and my husband was meeting with a long-time friend. None of us had been to this restaurant but decided to go since it was close in the area of where we were staying. The outside was quite clean, and I loved the ambience of the restaurant; dark but not too dark. I must stop and brag on the waitress because our guest was quite unsure of what she wanted and because everything seemed so delicious she wanted details on the 5 items she had her choices narrowed down to. Shelly the waitress was amazing as without even looking at the menu was able to literally tell our friend exactly what she would be getting if she ordered say an ultimate fish sandwich, I mean right down to the way the sandwich is prepared. All three of us enjoyed our meal. It was fresh and looked appetizing and appealing. I was a little underwhelmed by the seasoning of the catfish because it tastes as though it had zero seasoning. Other than that, the service was good, and the bill was mid-range. So would I ever come to this establishment again, probably so .at least I can add some seasoning I cannot take seasoning away from meals prepared with too much salt and etc.

It was my first time eating here and wont be my last. The service here was superb, lots of good options for meals, and the food was excellent. I had catfish with a loaded potato and Caesar salad. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It made us think of Cheers. And seriously, on a Friday night, I am pretty sure almost everyone there was a regular. They were all friendly, having a good time, and interacted with us just a little. It was my moms second time there with my sister and brother-in-law and they love it. I even figured out who Norm is. We will definitely come here again.

Great seafood at a reasonable price! The pecan crusted tilapia was crispy outside and flakey and moist inside! Perfect combination, the seafood gumbo was best I have ever had! Reasonably priced cocktails. Customer service was fast and friendly! Happy hour is from 11am to 7pm !

Our host was a very rude individual who had a constant bad and negative attitude towards and misrepresented the food. Then he insulted my appearance saying I need to work on my complexion. The food is good but not the service. They need to involve their employees common etiquette courses. The portions were smaller than described and I would recommend if you are on a budget. Honestly not worth it because it is very bland and the bathrooms are gross.

I have been wanting to go to Ernies for about 20 years now and finally got that opportunity. It is an attractive building, and at night, seeing all the people through the big windows enjoying food and company has left me wanting. While it is clear the exterior of the restaurant shows years of life (which proves they have been in business for quite some time - this is a plus), it was clean of debris with fresh paint. Walking in, we were immediately greeted and seated. The interior is dark, so it was difficult to get a good look at the interior, however, you could tell the tables and chairs need updating, as I expect does the whole interior. The service is excellent. Once seated, we were served drinks and orders taken. The restaurant filled up quickly after we were seated (another plus). You can tell that many of the customers frequent the restaurant. The servers knew most people by first name. All of this impressed me. Then our food arrived. My Mahi Mahi was a little over cooked, but the food was excellent. The service lacked nothing. We agreed this is going on our go-to list.

I ordered the calamari for an appetizer with extra Hush Puppies, outstanding, perfectly cooked and the breading is light and crisp. The specials change as fresh seafood comes in so tonight the special was rainbow trout which I ordered grilled with a side salad and a loaded baked potato. The atmosphere is soothing with the dim lighting which made it a perfect end to a stressful work week. Everything Ive had here has been great, stuffed salmon I would definitely recommend, even something simple like grilled shrimp salad has great flavor.

We went with relatives for Fathers Day brunch, and we all had a good time. Brunch menu has some omelette options and a couple Benedict variations; I tried the eggs New Orleans and my mom had the Mexican omelette. Both arrived hot and tasty...Eggs New Orleans was poached eggs topped with hollandaise sauce and crab meat. Mexican omelette is a cheese omelette with pico on top. Both were simple but tasty, and served with fresh fruit and home made potato chips. My Father in-law had the pick two seafood combo with crab cakes and fried shrimp, and it was a big meal with nice sized crab cakes and big butterflied shrimp. We plan to go back with our kids soon..nice family restaurant with good value good food and friendly service.

First time here. Loved the lighting and atmosphere. Prices are higher than Google shows. Got the fresh cod, but was quoted a price about $4 lower than charged, though it tasted good. There is a dessert menu but its not shown on Google and the dessert is reasonably priced. Overall, I felt I had a good experience. I would go back. For the primary seafood dishes, plan on spending around at least $18 per plate. Got the cherry cobbler for dessert.

Because the catfish at so many restaurants is now of the Asian variety, rather than US farm-raised, I have learned to inquire before ordering. I called before I drove over to ask if their fried catfish was US farm-raised and the lady answering the phone said it was. Great! I drove over and even before I placed my order I asked the hostess (not the same person with whom I spoke on the phone) the same question. She also told me yes...the catfish was US farm-raised. To my dismay, when I got home, what I had was NOT US catfish. I could tell just by the looking at the filet, and by the texture of the inner flesh, and certainly by the taste. I have been eating real US farm-raised catfish for decades...I know the difference. Just really disappointed. The baked potato was good and service was friendly.

We arrived around 6pm on a Friday night and were immediately seated by the welcoming host. Though the restaurant was very busy, there were plenty of staff serving guests and it was a pleasant experience. Amber was friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our entire meal. We ordered the stuffed salmon and Mariners platter, which were both brought to us hot and fresh and in a timely manner. The food was very fresh and at a great price point. Overall, dinner here was a very nice experience-we look forward to returning.

We were in the area visiting my brother and he mentioned Ernie s as being his favorite place to eat. We came here and it met and exceeded any expectations we may have had. My husband and I ordered the Mahi Mahi, cooked blackened with grilled vegetables. My brother ordered the potato crusted cod. All three plates were outstanding. I take back all the nice things I said about this restaurant. The last time we were here 3 months ago, we found out that they dont serve the brown bread anymore because it cost too much. My fried shrimp was extremely greasy and a small portion. The salad only has like lettuce and tomatoes now. If memory serves me correctly they wouldnt even serve me ranch dressing with my fried mozzarella because they dont have it anymore. And the service wasnt that great. Try the clam chowder, it is really good. Its a little bit on the watery side but its delicious. We had the stuffed salmon which was okay but I probably wouldnt order it again. Id probably try something else. Prices are really good.

After years of passing this place up we finally decided to stop a few months ago, the food is fantastic as well as the service. Now we stop by every other Sunday after visiting my mother, glad we finally stopped just wished it had been sooner!!!

Their hours are wrong. I came here on a Monday at 11:15am which clearly says they are open on their good listing. Then when I get here I find out they are not open. I do not appreciate having my time stolen from me.

Great suprise for brunch/lunch menu. Perfectly cooked fish dishes. The ultimate fish sandwich has brioche bun with cheese with lettuce and tomatoe on the side. I didnt care for them putting some extra cut up lettuce already in the sandwich, it didnt need it. The clam chowder is just yummy. Creamy, perfect portions of potatoe and clam ratio to soup. Hush puppies and crab cakes were good. Calamari perfectly salted and cooked they added dry cut parmesan cheese on top. Oh they have sweet tea and its goooood! The only bummer is the food was served warm. Id go again to try the dinner menu.

Food was disgusting. Place looked like it was from the 70s. Do not recommend for people to go there to eat at all. Waitress did not treat us right. And would not refund for food we didn t eat.

Magi-Mahi so thin and dried out but the waitress was very nice. She had it removed from our bill. Margarita served in a stemmed wine glass? Calamari was good as appetizer. Shrimps were ok. Broccoli was rubbery. Caesar Salad was drenched in dressing that at first was thinking it might be soured but the cole slaw was the same, also drenched and over mayonnaised. It was very good iced tea. Sadly we will not return. I offer this review to let them advise the Chef. Overall, I don t think this food was served as fresh.

I ordered the combo plate. What I got was 1/2 order of catfish and 1/2 order of shrimp. And got charged $3.00 more. What I was expecting was 2 catfish and shrimp. I brought it up to owner and it was like talking to a brick wall. That day they lost 3 customers.
