Amazing small hotel in downtown New Braunfels. Each room is unique, and the hotel itself is historic and extremely interesting to look at. The service is top notch, and they even provide walking tours where they show all of the historic aspects of the hotel. In the basement is Sidecar, an excellent jazz bar, and Muck and Fuss (a burger based restaurant) is attached next door. They also have dedicated parking for hotel guests. Definitely recommend checking them out for a weekend or longer!

Upon arrival, the sweetest lady provided a brief history of the Inn and available amenities, while escorting me to the room. The room was spacious and clean. Loved the decor. The bed was so comfortable. Having a walk-in shower was wonderful. Everything about this Inn is superb. Will definitely stay here from now on. Will also be referring my friends and family. Rooms: Loved the decor in the room I stayed in. It was spacious, clean and the bed was so comfortable. The walk-in shower was definitely a plus. I was so pleased. Nearby activities: It s minutes from shopping and live music at night in both Gruene and downtown New Braunfels. Food and drinks: The signature and regular drinks at the Sidecar are wonderful. Loved listening to the pianist. Muck & Fuss offers specialty food items throughout their menu that are definitely a notch above other establishments.

I enjoyed my time at Prince Solms Inn. The room was clean, the service was great, but the main reason why I can t give it 5 stars is because of the noise. Sidecar, the basement-level bar, plays live music into the nighttime and both nights at my stay were disturbed by this. Despite the ear plugs provided, the vibration, music, and the talking from guests (it s very popular) made it difficult to sleep. Overall, I recommend this spot for anyone who is not bothered by the noise from the bar, and is looking for a cool spot to stay.

Location is pretty great and the hotel/rooms are quite charming but sadly it s 3am and instead of sleeping, I m writing this review. Due to the lack of staff on site or an emergency contact number, we are wide awake because someone left big band music playing in the parlor area of the hotel. You are given warning about the very loud music coming from the sidecar speakeasy on the lower level of the hotel that goes on until 12pm, but nothing about the music that plays over and over again in the hotel itself. You are provided with a white noise machine and ear plugs but they do very little to drown out the noise. I will also say that these beds have zero support and you sink into the middle of the bed. It was also making so much noise that I had to investigate it and found a bolt that had almost fell off the bed frame. I twisted it as tight as I could but there s only so much I could do. Sorry, but this hotel could be so much better if they put in a little effort.

Absolutely loved staying at this character filled boutique bed and breakfast. We booked really last minute, and were able to call ahead to make sure somebody was there late to check us in. The rooms and the inn are accessible by keypads, which is super nice for coming and going. Theres a super cool speakeasy in the basement and restaurant/bar next door. The owner and staff are super warm and accommodating... You feel like youre staying at a friends house! We will definitely be back for another visit.

We have loved the Prince Solms Inn for years. Al did a wonderful job with it when we first stayed here and now John and the rest of the crew are as well. The Inn is sumptuously and intentionally appointed from the common areas to the guest rooms. Every single detail is rich and thoughtful. Its wonderful to have the Muck & Fuss restaurant and Sidecar speakeasy right on the property..... The same attention to detail at the Inn has been given to the food, drinks, and entertainment. This is definitely our favorite location to celebrate special occasions or just get away together.

Great place to stay in New Braunfels, the beds are extremely comfortable and the basement bar/speakeasy is a great place to grab a night cap. They have nightly music that ranges from a single piano player during the week, to jazz music on the weekends. And some have said the walls arent insulated but they have renovated the entire building and it is quite hard to hear the music down below. I was there for work and went to bed early and I never thought twice about it. Plus it is hard to beat the location right in town. And its only 45-50 min from downtown Austin and 30 min from downtown San Antonio. Highly recommend

We had a wonderful Friday night in one of their private lounge rooms for my mothers birthday. Nikki showed me the room a few days in advance and kept in email contact with me even after I rented the room. We had a dedicated server who was fabulous. She came into the room when we had all stood up to leave and asked if we wanted a picture. I was thrilled because I really wanted a picture or two but had completely forgotten until she mentioned it. They even changed the music in the room to what my mother requested. We were able to put our name on the list at Muck & Fuss for a large party and stay in the room until they called us. We will definitely rent one of these rooms again!! Its well worth the money and the best way to enjoy the night with a group of friends.

Great location to visit New Braunfels and Greune. Good restaurant right next door, Muck & Fuss. Good selection of craft beers, burgers, etc. We enjoyed it. The hotel is a historic building that is being renovated in great style, adding modern touches without losing the vintage look and feel. In the basement is Sidecar, a great speakeasy. Wonderful ambiance, service, and great cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed it, spent a couple hours there sampling drinks and a couple of their tapas. The live band was very good. When you go back upstairs to your room you can still hear the music, though (this is something that they tell you when youre making your reservation, and they do provide a white noise machine and ear plugs). The bed was very comfortable. Our room had a king size bed, and it had a separate seating area, very posh. Loved spending the weekend and highly recommend it. Not 100% perfect as they are still in the process of renovation but I do highly recommend it.

My family tradition is gone. Grew up going here with my mom and dad. Got to bring my kids several times. But now it s gone. At least if you want to stay two consecutive nights, which most people do. Just a friendly suggestion, don t split up weekends where someone can book Just Saturday night. Now, you have cut off who knows how many people who want to book the weekend with you on the first weekend of Wurstfest. We are longtime customers of Prince Solms Inn. Love the place. But that is crazy to trade two days you can t book ( Friday and Sunday) just to give someone Saturday night. Hello Holiday Inn. I am so sad. Really looked forward to keeping the tradition alive. You guys need to get on top of this or you will eventually lose money and loyal customers. Take a gander at the big dog hotels. I bet not a one will be renting rooms for one night on the biggest festival in Texas opening weekend. Especially a Saturday. Here s to hoping yall see the light and get it together. Would love to come back. Love to sit out there and listen to music. This place is 5 star if they fix this. But do it in a hurry please. Your sad lost customer, Ben Purifoy

Quaint historic inn. Clean. There is a basement bar and a modern restaurant nextdoor Muck and Fuss. A breakfast voucher was provided to a diner about half a mile away. As informed by the hotel, there is loud music and paper thin walls. What was difficult was there were 2 different live bands playing simultaneously at night. After the music died down for the evening, the hotel neighbors returned and we were able to hear every last detail of their romantic encounter. Early on Sunday morning a very angry person was beating on the entrance door downstairs and when finally inside the building, stomped up the stairs like a moody teenager with a gait that could wake the dead. The inn did provided ear plugs and a white nose machine to help offset the noise. The inn is located within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and tube companies if you are in the market to tube the river. The price point seemed a little high. It was a neat experience I dont regret but probably wont do again.

The management and staff were amazing! The rooms are large and comfortable with high ceilings. Beautiful building with a large, inviting porch and balcony; we spent a lot of time on both. Within walking distance of the river and several restaurants. There are a few bars attached to the building - a restaurant/bar with craft beers, a prohibition speakeasy style basement bar (incredible cocktails and friendly, talented bar staff!!), and I think there is a patio bar with live music but we didnt spend any time there. I love this place and will for sure be back for another stay!

Like the coded doors, cant lose a key. Noise is an issue. Walls not very thick. Muck & Fuss doesnt really need to turn on patio music 2 hours before opening. Sidecar music can be heard until closing. Plan to stay up late and wake up early.

The Prince Solms Inn is a fabulous little slice of history all wrapped up in a gorgeous late Victorian era building. If you are a lover of historic buildings, especially Texas Victorian buildings, I think that you ll appreciate this one. There are some sweet details (the front doors are quite gorgeous and from a house in King William), claw foot tubs, gorgeous high ceilings and great windows. A 2nd story porch, despite the fact that it overlooks an auto parts store and has huge wasps nests on the ceiling, is a charming place to relax and people watch. The inn itself is comfortable and has a very welcoming feel (despite the fact that it s supposedly haunted). It s located right in downtown new braunfels and super close to the Comal River. Amazing location! There are a few things that you should consider before you book/arrive: the parking lot is very tight. It s shared with the inn s bar as well as a very popular restaurant. It s super hectic to find parking in this area during the summertime, so prepare to possibly park elsewhere. We were approached by the restaurant staff four times (the last time we were approached the person was very rude and disbelieving of the fact that we were staying there)regarding our parking in the lot. You can park on the street, where available, as well as in the NAPA auto parts parking lot across the street (after store hours). The inn s staff is mostly posted at the restaurant (muck n fuss) next door, so check in/check out is kinda weird. If you need assistance and no one is at the inn, you have to walk over to the hostess stand at the restaurant to ask for help. If you plan on going to bed early, you ll need earplugs. The restaurant has live bands that play until about 11:00 ( this was my experience on a summer weekend). Fortunately for you, if you forget earplugs, there will be some in your room for you!! The inn also provides vouchers for breakfast at Union Station, a pretty legit little diner up the street. If you don t see the vouchers in your room, ask for them. It s worth it. Overall, the attention to detail is slightly lacking in this establishment. It seems like all attention goes to the bar and restaurant, which saddens me, as the hotel is very charming and bears historic significance, which quite honestly could be heightened and made more special. I was honestly disappointed that I spent the amount of money that I did to stay there and felt pretty guilty doing so, as I thought that this splurge would be a sweet and relaxing weekend getaway. It really wasn t. It felt like a waste. I think that the loud music from the restaurant downstairs really ruined it for me. ): ): If you visit, check out the sidecar bar, which is in the basement. Fabulous vibe with dark and interesting decor (exposed bricks and pipes and taxidermy for DAYS) and delicious cocktails and live jazz. I understand the importance of keeping a historical building as close to its roots as possible, but feel as though if the amount of love that s put into the bar and restaurant were put into the hotel, it would be a great experience and wonderful place to stay.

Highly, highly recommended. The Inn was well-kept and clean, the location could not have been better, and the price is super reasonable. You can walk five minutes to the tube drop-off at the Comal River and two minutes to the downtown square. Will definitely be staying here again.

Sadly, the charm that my husband and I loved 5 years ago is entirely gone. The inn used to have so much original features and a cozy, quiet atmosphere that we loved so much. We decided to come back and relive that memory, but the place is totally different. The room we stayed in is now an office space, the Sidecar bar is now a modern club. The tin stamped ceiling has been torn down and the old bar removed and now they re playing loud pop music. There s a new restaurant taking up half of what used to be a good sized parking lot with another noisy bar attached outside in what used to be a quaint and quiet courtyard. We stayed in the Klein Haus which was mostly original with some structural upgrades - understandable. There s a gated porch out back, but the gate s hinges are rusted off. Anyone who leans against the gate is going to take a painful tumble. Just outside of that porch is the bar s smoking and dog pottying area, so at night we could hear drunk groups of people outside our window. Along with this, the bar had live music for several hours Saturday night, which was played not 10 feet from our door. We knew to expect a little more noise than last time because the inn is open about having a restaurant next to it, but they downplayed how loud it was actually going to be. Plus, there were no curtains in the house so there s limited privacy even in our own separate cabin. When we stayed 5 years ago, the owners made breakfast for the occupants in a cozy little dining room, but now the inn gives you breakfast vouchers for a diner down the street that s WAY too crowded and busy. It was just really disappointing to see that everything we loved about this place has been destroyed and modernized to fit the new wave of tourist crowds. We didn t even lay eyes on the owners and realized that management has been passed down to a younger generation that doesn t appreciate the wonderful history of the inn and the town. We won t be going back, which is extremely sad.
