While we did not stay at the Inn, I m sure it s lovely. My 2 teenage kids and myself went to the Pantry at the Inn for a quick breakfast. Mind you, it s a walk up counter where you fetch your own drinks etc. we ordered a few items, I left an 11% tip, received my $15 avocado toast which was honestly embarrassing. It s really not that hard to prepare a simple order. I m sure my meal was prepared the way it was because of my tip, but great service will warrant an appropriate tip. My avocado toast had so much salt on it; not like their menu stated a sprinkle of salt my son then went and retrieved 2 bottles of water from the refrigerated section and went to pay, the older lady asked No tip !? He replied, correct, no tip ma am what is he tipping on exactly? Gruene Mansion Inn, hire better and do better to your patrons. We will gladly refrain from visiting your establishment in the future. You can zoom in on my photo and see the obnoxious amount of salt they graciously sprinkled on my pathetic avocado toast. Food and drinks: Worth passing on. Zero customer service and entitled staff. Subpar food out of a box. If you re going to charge premium prices, serve premium food.

I stayed one night in the Master Bedroom while in town for a concert at Gruene Hall next door. Check in was quick and easy with everything ready to go when I arrived. I was briefed on parking, the room, access to rooms and amenities on the property. The bedroom and bathroom was beautiful and felt like I traveled back in time. This place is very old and you will easily hear things outside and in the hallway, to me it is part of the experience of how it was in the late 1800s. I can not wait to return and have my wife experience this beautiful part of Texas history. Wish I could have stayed longer. Walkability: So much to see within a 5 minute walk. You are at ground zero!

This was a nice quiet getaway for my hunie & I this weekend. Although the music was going on outdoors it was still quiet in our cottage. This is a must visit if you re looking for an adult getaway. Our cottage overlooked the Guadalupe River with an old fashioned wood porch where we listened to the birds sing & the squirrels run around as we drank our Vienna roasted coffee. You re located in between two of the best restaurants, The Gruene River Grill & The Gristmill. Not to forget to mention we were next to the oldest dancehall in Texas, Gruene Hall. The hall was built in 1878 and still keeps most of its originality to this day. Book your stay soon and have lots of fun with new memories. Rooms: The rooms are cozy and clean. Safety: We have never been bothered in a negative way. Walkability: Walking distance to all the entertainment, music and shopping. Food and drinks: Food is a ten in the area. It is tasty and filling. Breakfast at the mansion is not disappointing.

Loved the place. The place has a lot of character and the cottage style rooms are a great experience. Great natural surroundings witha stream right next to the rooms and trees all around. Conveniently located next to Gritsmill which is amazing restaurant and the music hall too to experience an evening full of culture and live music. All in all a great place close to Austin to get away from the hustle and unwind.

We stayed in the Guest Haus for two nights. From the moment we arrived, management was in touch to see if we required anything which we certainly did not. Everything was thought of, including a makeup mirror and proper lighting for making up (the ladies understand the importance of this). There were wine glasses and an opener for our use and thoughtfully provided full bottles of wine we could purchase. The bed was magnificent, so comfy. I dont care for soft pillows but that was the only thing (thinking about it, if I had asked for firmer pillows, I probably would have gotten them!). Our view from our porch of the Guadalupe river was so lovely, especially at sunrise and sunset. We had no noise complaints, though we did stay on a Monday and Tuesday night so..... We used the Pantry for breakfast one morning. We ordered it on a link sent that morning by management and then strolled over to pick it up and return to eat a delicious breakfast on our porch. The location is convenient to walk everywhere. We just parked and never got in the truck until it was time to go. Dont hesitate to stay here!

Most of our experience was 5 star, but I had to deduct a star for the dangerously narrow, shaky and unlit spiral staircase that we had to use to get to the bedroom. The service was great and the location was amazing...as for our room (one of the Sunday Haus) I would not recommend anyone over the age of 40 stay there...the bed is up a spiral staircase and the bathroom is on the ground floor...my husband fell a couple of times in the middle of the night...and the shower is my least favorite EVER. This room was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Also we were just next to the live music, which might be great for some, but it was not great for sleep.

The Pantry at Gruene Mansion Inn: I stopped by for a light breakfast Sunday morning in October. Weather was perfect for sitting outside under their pavilion (behind the inn). This is my first time at this establishment, and I found the atmosphere to be relaxing. I ordered my breakfast from the Inn counter (inside directly adjacent to the quaint little kitchen). They offered indoor or outdoor seating. The pavilion out back offers a perfect side view of Gruene Hall and the Grist Mill. Coffee, water and breakfast came quick. Enjoyed listening to the birds, watching people and the fluffy egg soufflé sandwich hit the spot. I ll come back. They said they serve from 8-11 every day. Only item I would have liked was when the person taking my order they could have asked if I would like the optional bacon I would have said yes.

My sister and I stayed here for a girls get away weekend. Gruene was packed with tourists but we were able to take a break from the crowds on our lovely outdoor patio and seating areas around the Mansion. Our room was cool, comfortable, roomy and a pleasure to stay in. As much as we enjoyed our room, the grounds and the convenience of being able to walk everywhere, the staff pushed our stay over the top. The front desk was friendly and helpful, housekeeping prompt and efficient and the breakfast staff was wonderful and welcoming. There is absolutely no reason to stay at any other place in Gruene Texas. What a great trip due to staff, cleanliness of the grounds and room and sense the Staff really was happy we were staying at Gruene Mansion.

We stayed two nights to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere, the porch of the room and the location are priceless!! It is surrounded by live music but at the same time the room is very quiet, the gardens with tables to sit and relax and listen to music. The mansion is the central focus of the town of Gruene! Apart from the groaning music hall, the oldest in Texas! The mansion is next door, so you can walk to concerts, restaurants, bars and shops! Over the years they have managed to take such wonderful care of the property and maintained its historic integrity while also adding features of comfort like the outdoor patio with a fire place to eat next to. The details of the decor, cleanliness, amazing food, and kindness of those you will come to meet us second to none. I very much enjoyed my stay at the Gruene Mansion Inn. First of all, Gruene is one of the most beautiful, and alive small towns I have ever been to. It is a must see for sure. The Gruene Mansion is second to none in terms of customer service. They were so helpful getting my room setup after my wedding, and even brought a vase to put some flowers in, because I had forgot my own! The staff was so nice, and helpful. The views are really beautiful too. One thing that surprised me was how good the breakfast buffet was! They clearly went above and beyond in this department. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars, is the price. I bought this because I knew this is where my wife would want to stay on our first night being married. However, $300 a night is rough on the pocket, for anyone staying for just one night. With that being said, I would recommend this to anyone who has the money. The staff, views, and breakfast alone made it a wonderful experience!

So many excellent restaraunts, but the breakfast served at the mansion was the best. Our room, the Hay Loft, was very quiet on the back side and had a wonderful view of the river.

We were part of a large group. Most of our friends liked the place, however our room was ridiculously small with a tiny and not very clean bathroom with the sink in the hallway. Worst of all, the bathroom had no door and no working exhaust fan.You can imagine the ambience and odor.Being on the ground floor we had a great view of the parking lot,yet this was not a last minute accomodation. This party was booked months in advance. It turned chilly while we were there and the little wall heater could not keep up with the 50 degree cold snap. Most likely because the wood burning fireplace had no damper or the damper was stuck open and created a draft. The good part of the draft was the steam and aromas from the bathroom cleared out rather quickly. We were promptly brought a small space heater and shortly thereafter given a bottle of wine as an apology: the irony there is that I`m an alchoholic that hasnt had a drink in 27 years! Parking is limited without assigned spots but you are given a permit to keep up with so you wont get towed. For whatever its worth, breakfast is amazing if you can wait till 8:00 am. All in all I would not stay here again unless it was free, which it decidedly is not. Costs several hundred dollars for a couple nights. One of the worst deals ever.

One of my favorite places to visit! Just across the courtyard from Historic Gruene Hall! We have stayed at the Gruene Mansion Inn 1-3 times a year since 2011. It is one of our Favorite places to stay! We have stayed in the main house in Berthas room as well as the the Bluebonnet and Grand River rooms that include the breathtaking river views. We have also stayed in the Texas suite which didn t disappoint. The breakfast is very good. There is fresh fruit for the lighter side and then good ol southern style with biscuits, bacon and eggs. The staff has been extremely friendly every single time. Everything in town is within walking distance so no driving unless you want to go to New Braunfels for some reason.

Stayed here honeymoon night and 2 nights this month for 1 year anniversary. Great place to stay and amazing breakfast! Although Monday was pretty limited on breakfast items and it was put away earlier than advertised but overall great place to stay! Maybe that was just during the week there was not as big of a breakfast spread. There were no biscuits and gravy Monday and that is one things I look forward to here! Highly recommend one of the rooms with a view of the river! Can t beat it! Will continue to make this a tradition to come here!

We have been spending time at Gruene Mansion Inn, whether it be for anniversaries as a couple or with our family of 5, since 2010. We have always enjoyed our stay, but this time Brittany took extraordinary care of us. Before we got there, I called with several questions. She was so caring and patient as she answered them and was so sweet when checking us in. During our stay everyone was very accommodating and, as usual, breakfast did not disappoint. Of course, the Texas Pecan coffee was delicious as always! We also stayed in the Texas Suite for the first time and loved it. It was a great space for us since we now have college-age kids.
