I had chicken fried steak that was really pretty good but wasn t pleased with the yellow chicken gravy. My wife had the fried fish but it wasn t in small pieces like we do it at home, which allows it to be crunchy and more tasty. It was a whole side fillet and the batter didn t stick and was soggy. We did get an appetizer of fried pickles that were way too salty for our taste. In all we were not blown away and the overall experience was just ok! I would like to say that the pecan pie we had for dessert was delicious and I d gladly return for more of that! The service was good though, our server worked hard to make our experience a good one.

We have lived in NB for many years, but we had not tried Pats Place until recently (honestly, Im not really sure WHY). We have now added it to our go to list for local eateries. They have a very diverse menu...something for every mood! The food was GREAT! Very fast, fresh and tasty. Kelsey was our server, and she was fantastic. She was very kind, offered great recommendations, quick and very attentive. Thank you to the entire team! We will be back!

Food is always good, however they can t seem to keep any servers that are good and attentive. The building is old which is super neat but everything is always a little sticky. The floors, walls, table cloth, chairs today they gave me a menu that s newer but it s gotten wet at some point and has mold spores on it.. In short, foods good, wait staff is hit or miss and the place is a little grimy. So far I keep coming back. Wheelchair accessibility: They have handicapped parking and a ramp to get into the front door. The first seating section would be the only area someone with a wheelchair would be able to sit as there are steps to get into different parts of the restaurant.

The waitress was friendly. The food took a long time to arrive. Our salads came with our food. The meatloaf was cold, dry, looked like it was leftover from the day before and had a BBQ flavor. The mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy. The chicken fried chicken was full of grissel.

I haven t been to Pats in years but my friend chose to go for lunch . The air of urine as soon as I walked in the door was overwhelming.I was hoping it would go away the further we were seated. It did subside. The enchilada was good, beans were not. The fountain Coke tasted off . Did not refill. I can say I barely got through lunch. Probably won t go back .

Well, up until today we would go there, park the truck and then come eat after we got off the river. Figured us spending 40-100 bucks every time we floated was a good trade off for that being our go-to place after floating. I guess that changed today. I was told even if we were going to eat there I couldn t park while we floated. I even offered to open a tab and leave my card there so they knew we were coming back. guess we will all start going elsewhere.

The host was very accommodating and super nice. However the waiter was not good. I waited way too long for the food and when it came, it was cold. She forgot our silverware & I had to ask the host for it. Host was the only good service I got. I m visiting from NC and I will not be back. I would double think before dining here. Over priced w small portions, and terrible service. I saw 3 tables walk out over the lack of service and then when I finally got my check which was $67 for a burger and a burger steak ....THEY ADD A SERVICE FEE to every bill without asking or mentioning it and refused to remove it which is illegal. I circled the fee and said not to charge it on the bill and she still did. So 0 stars if possible - this place is a way over priced restaurant w terrible service and charges hidden fees for absolutely nothing that only appear on the final copy of the receipt. The hostess was really overwhelmed and did her best. Our server was excellent she had like 8 tables at once and rocked them out with out any worry in her face. The food was great, I have been coming here since I was a little lad. The young manager has a bunch of potential to be a great manager of a massive hotel or something. This used to be a nice restaurant but it changed owners & now it s awful. How can you ruin pancakes? They could. I could not even cut them with a steak knife but when I did they were tasteless. I m editing this review because I cannot find a way to respond to owner comment. He responded to this review asking why I didn t contact them before posting this review. I had already had to get someone to correct our bill because it was incorrect. I did call the restaurant about the fact that we were automatically charged an 18% tip. They told me that we were with a party of 12. We were with a group of 12 but we re spread between 3 tables - our table was 5 but we were still charged as tho we were a large party. When you add that plus their fee for use of a credit card, the bill was $30 for a worthless meal. Our group has already decided we ll never darken their door again - bad food, bad service, wrong billing, way too much wrong.

I have been coming to Pats Place every single year for a decade. We Love Pats Place we tell people to go there. We get there tell them we have a party of 9 people. We sit down and wait. I then go up and say we can split up and have a party of 5 and a party of 4. They sit 5 tables in front of us. WE SHOULD of walked out then! They finally sit us 30 mins after we have been there and we walk by Several Empty tables about 10 empty tables. When we sit down I ask can you put my kids food in 1st that I was ready to order. She said sure then took everyones food and drink. She brings out our drinks then double checks the food order so now we are at 20 mins. We wait and wait 1hour and half later we finally get the food. We go to pay the check and there is a credit card service fee we have cash in our pocket but they ran the credit card. There was also a 20% TIP service she was NOT worth 20%! Talked to 2 different Managers twice and they did Nothing Worst Service and place ever. Will NOT be back! Again we are really going to miss them!!!!!!!!!

I have been going to Pats Place since I was a little kid in the late 70s. New owners seem to be using cheaper and cheaper food. Queso is just melted cheese sauce with very little flavor, fries just arent as good, and all around its just less than it used to be. Pat and Carol would not approve. Also, they are subtly changing the interior decor and its losing its charm that it has for decades. I have a feeling the locals will just stop going there, I know we are much less inclined after our last couple of visits. Service is still great, but over all, not what it used to be.

Quickly serviced with drinks and menus. Once order taken it took about 10 minutes to get a freshly prepared and delicious meal. It was sooo worth it. Went on a Sunday at 1. It was not busy (open tables all over) but we waited 25 minutes to get sat. Then another 30 minutes for a burger and sandwich. Saw the waitress twice in that whole time. When we finally got our food the order was wrong. I told the manager and he could not have cared less. Paid 35 bucks for the worst experience. I worked in a restaurant for 15 years. I know how it should have been handled. I have been going to Pats for over 25 years and I will NEVER set foot in that restaurant again.

The never ending battle in my brain to order that awesome cheeseburger w jalapeños or the fantastic Enchilada plate rages on everytime I sit down at that famous green & white tablecloth. If you want a place to eat where the locals go, and youre trying to avoid all the glamour and noise of a...Muck and Fuss, then come to Pats Place. This restaurant is so laid back that youll think youre at home, plus...this place doesnt take itself seriously - in a good way. The food here is home style cooking....which means its seasoned to perfection. I only tried two dishes: the chicken fried chicken and the meatloaf. Im sold on the meatloaf meal because you get a lot of yummy food for an affordable price. I have yet to try everything else because I cant get pass the meatloaf! If you order tea, you get an ice filled jar plus a pitcher. Im usually in and out once Im done eating, but I appreciate this joint so much. Hopefully Ill try more options once I get over my go-to dish.

Am a regular customer at Pats. Lunch today was very disappointing and not up to usual high standards. Crisp beef taco was dripping with grease, and the meat looked like something besides beef. Have had same many times before, and they were delicious. Waiter (first time weve had him) couldnt explain the disappointing food. He said recipe hasnt changed. Something obviously has, though. Wont stop going because the food is normally really good. Just hope the owners see to it that they wont continue fixing tacos like those served today. Others at table had different Mexican dishes, and their beef was equally greasy. Please check to see what todays problem was.

The ambiance was nice, the service was excellent, the chips, guac and salsa were great. I had biscuits and gravy and didnt like it. My son thought he was getting link sausage over his eggs but it turned out to be breakfast sausage. Ick. Parking: There werent many spots and handicapped parking was difficult.

Ate there today for lunch. Its unfortunate to see a New Braunfels instiution go this far down hill. Ordered the beef enchilada plate. They were made with tough stale corn tortillas. The beans were greasey and the salsa was terrible. Unfortunately I will never be back to try the 16.00 cheeseburger.

Went for the first time yesterday. Service was a little slow, but I think our waitress may have been new. My guy got the beef strips and enjoyed them. I had the mushroom swiss burger, I was disappointed in the beef patty, it was thin, and I had to keep adding salt to give it some flavor. I did like the fries and the relaxed atmosphere!

We love coming to Pat s Place for lunch! The food is always fresh and delicious. I believe you could blindly point at any item on the menu and receive something down home tasty! I also think the Mexican food here is the best kept secret in town! I d certainly put Pat s enchiladas up against ANY other Mexican restaurant in New Braunfels! Their sweet tea is amazing too. My wife digs the spaghetti and the mashed potatoes are better that your mom s! Our usual server Kathrine is always kind and friendly. The only downside to the place is parking. The old building and space is landlocked and difficult to to get big trucks into! Because everybody s there getting delicious food! Parking: Spaces are tight for bigger vehicles and somewhat limited. Depending on the summer season, lunch rush and time of day.
