Great food, price not bad. Friday. noisy in some ares, but just ask for the rooms friendly to conversation. Server was quick, smart, pleasant, but forgot silverware after serving food. Irritating that bartender even HINTS at a tip for pouring two glasses of wine. NIce vibe made 45 minute wait pass easily. Good parking. Going back sometime. Parking: Across street BEHIND joint, but only yards away, wheelchair friendly.

Update: 7 years later and its still fantastic. Were happy everytime we show up. We showed up for a late lunch and enjoyed some filling and refreshing salads and did a little shopping in the boutiques just behind the restaurant. Lovely! Just lovely! Really great steaks and fantastic selection of wines. We were a large party and Angela did a great job of taking care of our table. Our glasses were always full and we lacked nothing. Its was a wonderful anniversary dinner. 5 stars except they dont accept reservations on the weekend.

Busy Saturday night. That was as expected. Maybe not a good night for the kitchen. Appetizers took quite a while to get. Artichoke and spinach was not warm through. Caesar salad dressing was strong with vinegar. Small potatoes were cooked well, but not seasoned and the butter we asked for never came. My chateaux was over cooked and the blue cheese was very strong. My husband s salmon was good. The server was cordial and did the job for the most part. We did not get any napkins or utensils until after the appetizer was on the table and we had to ask for them. I think the server had too many people to wait on. We were a bit disappointed after looking at the reviews. The dining areas were cute but very noisy. Doubt we ll try it again.

This was our first time going because someone gave us a gift card. We didn t have high hopes for the entrees because they didn t look very appetizing from the pictures. The mango tea was fantastic, we got the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was delicious so we were getting our hopes up. My husband had the beer cheese soup with his entree which he really liked and I had the house salad which I really liked the ranch that came with it. Our hopes were high now because everything seemed great so far. And then came the entrees I had the chicken pasta penne and he had the chopped steak with fried jalapenos. Everything was cooked really well but it tasted bland. Hardly any seasoning on anything. Which I guess for the targeted audience, mild aged white folks, is okay. My husband could make it better at home which is why we hardly go out to eat anymore.

So, my first trip and probably my last. I have lived in N. B. for three years and never heard of this place, and there is a reason for that. Got some appetizers while waiting for 45 minutes on a Thursday night around 7:30 - 8:00 p.m. the apps were ok, nothing to write home about. I ordered a steak medium, and that means well done or rare, apparently . Nothing blew the group away taste wise. So many other places in N.B. to go to that cost way less and have better food.

Very nice place to visit and enjoy dinner. Not their fault but it was very nice outside so we sat in the outside dining area. Probably wouldn t recommend due to insane number of flies. Charcuterie board is excellent! Would recommend the Asian salmon salad (marinated salmon)but not the salmon Caesar unless you really like perfectly bland salmon. Will definitely go back for the restaurant atmosphere, courtyard but will try something else to eat. Worth a trip, highly recommended. Note: beer and wines served but no liquor.

This was my second time to Huisache Grill and my wifes fourth. Stopped here on Mothers Day as we traveled back to San Antonio from out of town. Fortunately, our wait was minimal, but even if it had been longer the venue has options for relaxing waiting outside and inside. Our server was adequate, but no more. Very little interaction with us beyond the minimum required. Not unfriendly, but not friendly or engaging. The food was good, but not as good as either of us had experienced before. Both of us got the Parmesan Breaded Chicken Breast, which came with penne pasta in a white wine cream sauce (very good) and broccoli (basic, but not bad). The chicken itself was disappointing. The outside was over-cooked, the meat fairly tough, and the stuffing of a mix of cheeses, mushrooms (didnt see any), artichoke hearts (good), and spinach was not good to me. I believe it was whatever soft cheese they use, most likely a soft cheese with a very pungent flavor. Many may like it, but I did not. The rolls and side salad were both very good. Lastly, the tea. No restaurant in Texas--especially one as nice as Huisache Grill with its excellent reputation--should have cloudy, weak tea. Iced tea is one of the ways we generally can tell right up front if a place is going to be good or not, and in general Id say that is about 90% accurate for the rest of the meal, in our experience. I have no idea why the water was not filtered and clear, but the tea was just weak and poor-tasting. We should have returned it, but arent those kind of people. It was disappointing. Overall, it is still a great location, cool-vibe venue with much on the menu to like. This visit was just disappointing. Hopefully the next time we try it itll be better.

Huisache Grill is a charming restaurant tucked off the main road. The building is a beautiful repurposed vintage structure along the railroad tracks. From appetizer to dessert, the food was absolutely delicious! The service was prompt, not pushy, and each course was timed perfectly. Even though we arrived later in the evening, we didnt feel rushed in the least. I would rate everything about the Huisache Grill a 15 on a scale from one to ten! Oh! The fried brie is to die for!!

Set back off the highway, easy to miss. But don t. The food here is great. Can t speak to every menus item but Blackened salmon was cooked perfectly. Their special soup of the day reminded me a bit of my grandmothers Italian soup make with peppers and little meatballs of ground beef. Music playing in background was stuff from the 40s like big band the singers like Sinatra so if you don t like that music you might feel differently but, for me, it was nice and mellow. Our server, Marina, was a sweetheart and a dead ringer for Wednesday. Wine mostly CA wine eg Paso Robles and very good variety. We look forward to going back before we leave TX.

Alright yall, Im about to make a very bold statement. Hands down, HANDS DOWN! the best chicken fried steak you will ever eat! Ive had it three times now, good time frames away from each other to make sure it wasnt a fluke. Its not. Its simply the best and Ive tried a lot of them from all over! The batter, the meat, and the gravy are all seasoned, most of the time its only one of the three. Its just a great flavor combination that you cant beat. All the sides that go with all their entrees are great too. The most recent time I went, they also had a crawfish (and something else) bisque, I wish I wouldnt have had a whole chicken fried steak to eat because I would have ordered more of it! You will not be disappointed! Please add sweet tea to the menu, though the peach mango iced tea is delicious (sweet would be even better!!).

Frustrated that they do not take reservations but will not seat parties that are missing someone. We had several people in our party but one was running late. We were ion a time crunch so we were going to order for him and he would be there in time to eat. Hostess girls refused to seat any of us because we were missing one. After insisting he would not be there they then seated us leaving the late one out and they intentionally seated us on a small table so he could not join us. A couple was seated after us at a large table for 5 with extra chairs next to us. I feel that hostesses were tacky and could have accommodated us better. Next occasionwe will head to McAdoos. More accommodating for sure.

First date night here in New Braunfels and this was a great spot! It was romantic, yet casual. The food was great, not life changing, but still. The shrimp cakes appetizer stole the show. I will definitely be back for those. Only thing I didnt like, is they dont offer drink specials inside. Its only outside. So you can get up, go outside and get the drink special, and bring it back to your table. Like why not just offer the specials inside too? Odd, but not enough to deter me from coming back. Try this place at least once!

The charcuterie board was OK; we ve had better and we ve had worse at other restaurants. It was would not be my first pick. However, the crab cakes were very good and would be the better option. The steak was excellent and cooked to the desired texture. Their veggie sandwich was a tasty option for those looking for a meatless entree. The southern pecan cheesecake and key lime dessert were good comfort treats to end the night. The service was as great but the lighting is rather dark inside; it was hard to read the menu. It is definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely delightful! The food delicious and beautifully presented; the service was prompt and the attendant super pleasant, helpful and likable; the ambiance of the restaurant was just perfect to have a nice meal without the extra unpleasant noise and traffic of patrons passing around you. Lovely restaurant for a casual upscale vibe. Ive tried just about everything on the menu, but my favorites are the shrimp cakes, fried brie, and pecan crusted pork tenderloin. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The consistency at Huisache is unmatched in NB. To say I love this place is an understatement.
