Lovely older hotel. The rooms are huge and clean. Lovely beds. It s downtown but parking is free on the property. I loved this. The front desk staff did not seem friendly at all which is not the Hilton way, so that was a little different. I did enjoy my stay but had to switch hotels because the nightly rate skyrocketed in the week. Rooms: Rooms are large and clean. No refrigerator or microwave is included but be requested. The bed is divinely comfortable. Quiet no disturbances Nearby activities: Bars and restaurants Safety: I felt safe at this hotel. Quiet no disturbances Walkability: This hotel is downtown in a walkable area, restaurant and bar on the same block

I usually like Doubletree but some need a little help, like this one. I pulled up to the front to valet my car. I waited and waited and no one ever came. So I called to see where parking is. Once I parked I came down to the first floor, hoping to walk right into the hotel. No such luck. You have to walk out some doors into an alley and to the street to get into the hotel. And that alley is not pretty. There was a dead bird in the alley that has been there a little too long. You d think they d come clean it up. And since this is the main way in, clean the alley. A little cement and paint go a long way. Check in was rough. The girl never smiled, didn t tell me about the hotel amenities, and just handed me my keys. I even had to ask her for my water and cookie, which is one of the biggest things they tout. And I m pretty sure the AC was out because the entire first floor of the hotel was hot. The rooms are quite dated and in need of some deep cleaning. Also, my AC didn t work. I would set it to 60 (because I was having problems with it) and it never got below 76. That alone makes me want to give 1 star, along with the bathroom. The shower head is this cheap plastic head that s just gross. At least update that and splurge on some metal heads. And not being able to open and close the bathroom door while in the bathroom is a problem. I think it would have been wise to extend the bathroom since the room is so big. The door hits the shower curtain rod so you can t fully open it. And the rod was completely bent with people trying to open the door apparently. And why in gods name is the toilet paper holder basically on the ground?! Not to mention you can t even reach the top one unless you swivel around. And the water pressure is non-existent. I didn t even wash my hair because I knew I d never get the soap out. There was also a fire alarm test one day that I wasn t even made aware of when I checked in. It went on for far too long. If you have tinnitus, good luck. On checkout day at 9am, housekeeping entered my room, even with a do not disturb sign on the door. I immediately walked up to the door, reached for the sign, and asked her if this meant nothing. She started talking in Spanish, pretending that she didn t know English, when I have heard her in the hall before speaking English. Clearly they need to be better communicated to by management to not enter rooms. Finally, I ordered room service but was told they can t deliver because they had an associate walk-out and they are short-staffed. Clearly this whole operation needs a gut. This was my second time here (as evidenced by the bathtub instead of walkin) and think it will be my last. Which is a shame because I love Doubletree.

Location is great but everything else is horrible. I checked-in around 7pm on 05-3-24 and 3 hours later Im about to check-out. The food at this Italian restaurant is mediocre at best and way over priced not to mention the room service from said place was lacking and we couldnt get drinks to our room because all the bartenders were busy with a private function and the added insult is that I wanted to treat my wife to a nice anniversary. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Location is good if you need to be downtown. Service was unacceptable from check-in to check-out. Had a service animal and was called in the middle of the afternoon to be told it was barking. The dog was gone from the room at 8:30 that morning. Had dinner at CACIO restaurant in the hotel. The food was inedible. Sent our plates back full, was never asked how the meal was. Asked for the suite to be cleaned and towels refreshed. Never showed. When I notified the front desk, they said they would take care of it. Never heard from them again, housekeeping never showed. Worst experience in a Doubletree or Hilton for that matter. AVOID this hotel if at all possible.

IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP AT ALL..... DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Hilton Diamond member here.... so we have tons of hotel stays. But first, I have to give flowers to the 1 & ONLY shining star from this whole ordeal- and thats daytime front desk employee Tammy. She seemed to actually care & was mortified by our less than stellar experience. But a hotel, especially one this large, needs more than 1 good staff member. They require a team of Tammys & unfortunately this location doesnt have that. This place is an embarrassment to the Hilton name. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Literally the worst stay Ive had in 40 yrs. The room was not great (until we were moved on our final night), really needs some updates & just general upkeep work. Actual holes in the kitchen area, filthy tiled area, even a lamp that someones pet mustve destroyed before we got there- darn near caught the room on fire just turning on the light switch on when we arrived. But I could have got past that & chalked it up to fluke that probably wouldnt happen again. What I cannot get past is the fact that this is the loudest hotel Ive ever seen. Outside noise, hallway noise, loud neighbors fighting (more on this later). OH & THE RAVE (that they had the nerve to call an art show) that was going on all night outside our room... that no one at the front desk warned us about upon check in. We did not sleep for 2 nights. The walls in this place must be made out of the 1 ply TP in their bathrooms. In fact a few families ended up leaving due to the insanely loud party. Lets not forget the piles of vomit (probably from drunk people) all thru the hotel and outside that no one seems to care about. Seriously, dont waste your money and find a different hotel. This place needs to just turn into a nightclub, a by the hr type hotel, or something else..... this hotel is NOT deserving of the Doubletree name and reputation. Personally I think they need to turn the entire thing into a nightclub where you can sleep if had too much to drink. Because the place is being treated and run as one already. It is for sure not a place to bring the family... NOT kid friendly at all. With the club atmosphere, all sorts of people coming and going that are not guests. But I guess that makes sense because they clearly do not value the people who spend their money for a room. On our last night we were forced to change rooms due the extremely loud neighbors who on the first night were up until 345am screaming and arguing; and the second night horsing around, barking, scream-laughing, hollering... general obnoxiousness. When we called downstairs to have them ask to please keep it down at 1am, the man in the room got extremely upset, screaming profanity and making threats towards us. We didnt call the first night when they were fighting. And didnt call but once about the horsing around. The threats made me very uncomfortable and felt unsafe. Even the restaurant downstairs was disappointing. Long story short, food not worth the price, service was nonexistent, even room service servers sucked. Missing food, missing drinks, took forever, no one knew anything about anything.... like every person involved with the restaurant was brand new and on their first day. Waaaayyy too expensive for zero service and less than average food. Worst experience all the way around. Will not stay here again and will no longer recommend to others Unfortunately we have referred a few friends based on a previous stay and we are truly sorry and embarrassed. I dont know if its under new management or what. To top it all off, we ended the night with some drunk individual from the art show/ Rave party pulling the fire alarm. I couldnt get out of there quickly enough and it turns out we werent the only ones. They seriously need to at least take the word hotel out of the name. Ive had better sleep and far better experiences at a Motel 6. 100% WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Im proud to give Tammy a shout out but they really need about a million more of her.

This should be rated as a 1 star motel. Ive had better in Gordon, TX. The rooms are not worth the money. I am so embarrassed about this place that I called my company and had them move the rest of my team to another location before they arrived. Rooms: Rooms are disgusting. Tiles are falling off the wall. Ceilings are cracking and appear to be falling. The glass balcony doors are filthy and the kitchen/foyer floors have dried sticky spillage. There is mold growing in the shower corners. Room service tray from a previous guest(maybe) sitting in front of my door. Stains on the ottoman and furniture. The inside of the trash can is filthy with grim. In Room informatives and Menus are sticky. There is enough wrong here that I am scared of walking on the balcony. Windows in the halls look like a haunted house (grime and dirt build up). If staff shortage is the problem then stop booking so many rooms. Only book what your staff can do. Oh did I forget to mention the soap scum on the lip of the tub. Lol. Ive run out of room to mention more. Safety: Safety is about as reasonable as Midland Texas can be. Good luck. Walkability: It is a great location. There is a green park across the street and so many locations for food and drinks within walking distance. Food and drinks: Not sure I should also talk about the food. I am so conflicted by what this location represents. Not at all good for the brand. Be warned. Ive seen nursing homes better than this place. Noteworthy details: Please head my warnings. Haunted hotels in horror movies are better cared for than this place is. I am so disappointed with this place. Total buzz kill.

I updated my rating so thought Id post an update. Were back 4 months later Jan 15- and our room is way better than last time. Also have to say again the staff here is so friendly and nice. Our room is great. You can actually walk on the carpet and it isnt sticky or smelly. Our room has been cleaned everyday and i love that you dont even have to request it. My only complaint is the train. If you have a hard time sleeping with noise dont sleep on this side lol. Weve gotten used to it so its ok but just a heads up. Hotel needs a big update especially for being a hilton downtown. The staff is super friendly and nice! I never caught ahyone not working. Everyone was trying there best at everything and that was nice to see. Valet was an angel even though I parked and left 58 times a day they never complained. I always appreciate great customer service. Pool needs updating and cleaning but it did feel good up there. Thanks guys!

The bad: Was unimpressed all around. The poor front desk attendant was all alone checking in a crowd of people and juggling calls. Took 30 min just to check in and I traveled solo. The room door jammed easily from warping and I basically had to crash into the door just to open it each time. The safe was damaged and the handle was broken off, definitely not putting valuables in that. All of the linens and towels smelled of burnt rubber, definitely a dryer issue. The lights were dingy and struggled to turn on like in old horror movies. The shower grate was rusted. Also, breakfast is not free, even though the quality is about the same as youd get anywhere else (eggs, sausage, biscuits, fruit) but a nice $15 plus tax and tip because theres no coffee station, a server has to bring the coffee to you. Im lucky my trip got cut short. The good: The AC works, and the hotel is conviniently located. Didnt get robbed. The downstairs and bar look renovated. The rooms are quiet and you cant hear traffic muor neighbors Rooms: What is that weird burnt rubber smell on all of the linnen and towels? Food and drinks: $15 for breakfast that tastes exactly the same as any hotel with complimentary.

We went with our friends this last Friday 11/17/23. We enjoyed some drinks at the downstairs bar. While putting our card on file I noticed that the bartender had charged my card already and so I asked why did it already run a charge through and showed her on my app. She giggles and says oh I dont know why it does that but everyone asks me and Im not sure but it should go away. Well guess what... it did NOT go away and now I have two charges to my card from them. I called and talked to the lady at the front desk and she asked me for my whole debit card number. I told her no because the receipt its only going to show the last 4 digits not sure why she felt she needed my whole debit card number... I gave her the autho number for the receipt. If they call back and refund my money Ill change my review. To make matters even worse I called our friends that went with us and after checking they were charged twice too. Sound fishy and like someone is trying to pad their pocket.

We booked this hotel for our wedding guests only because of the location. It was convenient to restaurants and bars. I reserved 4 rooms for my family. One of the rooms was called the parlor and it was filthy. When we arrived, there a refrigerator on the floor outside in the hallway near our door. The refrigerator and microwave were dirty and the fold out sofa bed still had dirty sheets on it. One of the connecting doors had something crusty stuck to it. Housekeeping had to scrape it clean. It was really dirty. Housekeeping did not service the rooms daily, but only brought towels and left the clean towels on a dirty stained chair on the parlor. They only had one elevator working and the one that the one that was working, was very slow. The water pressure was low on the 11th floor. The food at the Eatery was terrible. The breakfast buffet was ice cold (according to my husband, mother and sister) and it was overpriced. $19 per person. We were told the Starbucks was open on the weekend, but Saturday morning we were told by the front desk that they were closed over the weekend. I will say this, Robert, the valet attendant was fabulous. He had a great attitude and was extremely helpful. Tammy, one of the managers came up to the room and saw the crusty stuff on the door and had housekeeping clean it. This hotel needs updating and the staff needs to be educated on ALL THE THINGS associated with running the hotel. And please tell your one of the girls at the front desk, not to call the guests honey. Its condescending. We probably wont be staying there again. Midland needs a school there THE CONRAD HILTON school of HOTEL, RESTAURANT AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT. They need a little help. The hospitality industry is VERY IMPORTANT to a city. MIDLAND needs to improve their HOSPITALITY. I want to be treated special when spending money at a HILTON hotel or any hotel. The Holiday Inn had cleaner rooms and better hospitality when we stayed there last year. Rooms: Rooms need major update and a good sanitized cleaning. And the 3rd floor Sky bar bathroom needed major attention. We hosted a rehearsal dinner party and it was embarrassing to have guests use a dirty, not stocked bathroom. No hand soap. And half roll of toilet paper. Walkability: The only thing I would say is that this hotel was convenient to downtown bars and restaurants. Food and drinks: The 117 Eatery needs a new cook.

Just completed a weekend stay and sadly, it left a lot to be desired. Carrying the Hilton Double Tree name, I expected more than what was offered. The hotel lacked amenities. To start, valet parking was only there on Friday evening when we arrived, non-existent on the weekend. The lobby and common areas were extremely warm. The morning coffee station was something out of a Motel 6 with just one small coffee carafe with 2 different kinds of creamer. For a hotel of this size, they should have had way more coffee. There was no varieties of coffee either (bold, light or decaf). The restaurant and lounge areas were bare and had eerie vibes of a ghost town. The morning breakfast was extremely overpriced for what you get. Powdered eggs, fried potatoes that were cooked in week old grease, thin bacon and sausage patties that resembled hockey pucks. Not worth the $16!!! The rooms were basic with no mini fridge, or microwave. Again, NOT what I expected from a DT. The bathroom door didn t latch or lock. The beds were comfy and the air conditioner worked well. That was about all that was worth it. All in all, the location is great, but the overall quality left a lot to be desired and didn t live up to the Hilton brand that I am accustomed to. It s a hotel is need of major TLC. If I am ever back in Midland, I will look into other options before the Double Tree.

Not totally disappointed, but my stay wasn t as good as I had hoped. The staff was friendly but the building and rooms seem to be a bit outdated . Additionally, after checking in, it wasn t explained to me that there were two towers with accompanying elevators. Because of this missed detail , I carried all of my luggage to the 9th floor of the wrong tower. When I couldn t find my room number I called the front desk and it was explained to me that I had taken the wrong elevator and that I needed to walk to the other tower. Not a big deal, but slightly frustrating after driving 8 hrs . Once I got to my room I noticed there was no refrigerator, something I needed for my drinks and food I packed for the road. The young lady at the front desk was nice and accommodating and put in a request to have one delivered. Three hrs passed and no one showed up. It wasn t until I called again that they finally came. As stated earlier, the rooms seemed to be a bit outdated and the bathroom was much smaller than I had hoped. The towels were sort of dingy instead of the crisp white that you normally get at hotels. After my first night I requested a clean up and extra towels. (There s a sign that says complimentary room service upon request). After running errands for the day I returned to the hotel and nothing had been done. I called the front desk again and spoke with Tammy and explained that my stay hadn t lived up to my expectations. She was extremely nice and gave me a voucher for free drinks in the downstairs lounge. I appreciated the fact that she went the extra mile to make it right for me. The workout room, dining area and lounge were nice and I had a nice view over the pool. I also liked that they have plenty of parking.

As if i could do anything about that. I spoke to hotel manager and the front desk lady with missing teeth and was told I would be charged for it. its okay looking at them they need it more than I did. I was just telling them because it was the point that they had overcharged me. Red flag was there when i started to book and the customer service I was getting while booking these rooms.

I understand that they cannot change their location but...they built a new nice parking garage but to get to the lobby, you must walk down a rough, stinking alley. Why didnt they build a connecting bridge. The service was good but the hotel overall was terrible. There were broken drawers in the bathroom, broken and loose trim also but the worse part was a loose, wobbly handicap bar in the bathtub that is a lawsuit waiting to happen. There were no hangers in the closet, I had to ask twice to get some. AND...only one elevator in the north tower was working and it caused major traffic jams with all the weekend people in the hotel. The air conditioning was not working in the bar, only a huge noisy fan blowing hot air around. Not pleasant. Rooms: Read above Safety: Not all elevators working, much crowding, having to walk in a nasty scary alley

Poorly maintained, 1 elevator out and the other elevator will eat you alive and maybe get you to the correct floor. Hilton doesn t care about guests. They have the A/C off in lobby, common areas, hallways and elevators. No concept of a handicapped or disability access room. Low counter in BR where toilet prevents wheelchair access. No Handicapped height toilet, conventional tub instead of low threshold shower, no seat. Ignorant excuse for a handicapped access room. Just plain pitiful. Hilton has completely destroyed the reputation they used to have. Third disappointing experience with Hilton in last 30 days. Marriott here we come!

Rooms were clean, beds were not uncomfortable. This hotel appears to be struggling to stay in business. Many items needed maintenance and attention. Pool is green, unkempt and closed in 100+ degree weather. Lounge was closed on a Saturday night. A/C is not working throughout hotel with the exception of individual rooms. Bathroom plumbing backs up inc. shower and sink, toilet bowl is not affixed to the floor, no mini fridge and only enough coffee for 1, street parking only. However, its in a great location. Walkability: Great restaurants nearby and of course, Summer Mummers is within walking distance as well.

Finally got a fridge at 9.45pm that night but never got the microwave during my four night stay. Toilet handle broke and took a day for repairs. Co-worker had broken AC which meant her first night was in an 80 degree room. Underground parking cramped and difficult to maneuver. I didnt realize there were still hotels without USB ports for charging in rooms, but now I know! Would neither return nor recommend.

It has been 1 night out of 3 and I will never be coming back to this hotel. Parking is very confusing, no mini fridge or microwave in room but available upon request, however when you request it no one brings it or calls you back. Business center is under maintenance and isn t going to be fixed during my stay, so now I have to pay to print paperwork somewhere else. The restaurant has some pretty bad reviews so I don t even want to try it. Very frustrating to buy food expecting to be able to refrigerate it, only to find there isn t one in your hotel room. Then to have someone tell me they are sending it up and it never shows up, then when I call back they tell me maintenance went home for the day and they have the keys so we can t bring it until tomorrow . Never again.

I will explain why I rated this hotel so bad: Rooms - dated, old, dirty carpet, wallpaper in bathrooms falling off, shower curtain as old as time, yellowish and broken, drains in bathrooms clogged with hair YUCK! Mattress so old they lost their shape. I could continue but its just too much. Service: there are like 4 people working in the entire hotel ! seriously. No one had time for anything, the front desk was always busy with so many people complaining. I felt bad for them. One day they removed all the towels from the rooms to wash them and did not give us towels until the next day, and late. They just didnt have people working there, so they had to close the restaurant. Its just ridiculous. Sofas in the lobby are peeling off, literally, pieces of leather hang down as if a cat had attacked them. Its so disgusting its now funny, because I am not there anymore and I can laugh. We were there for a dance convention, more than 300 dancers, plus chaperones and company directors. They knew we were staying there since last summer, they could have prepared for this in advance, with people, towels and whatever was needed. Location; yes its downtown in front of the beautiful and NEW convention center, but still, if you have to go to Middland for work, or for something going on at the Convention center, 6 minutes away driving, you can find a set of hotels that I am sure are a lot better ( Marriot Courtyard, Springfield suites and a few more I couldnt tell the names from the distance). All looked pretty new, in a good location and enough restaurants around to survive. DO NOT STAY IN THIS DOUBLETREE until its renovated FROM SCRATCH. Its disgusting. AHHH... forgot to mention the elevator BROKE DOWN, and they only had 2, so with one elevator on peak hours when all dancers had to be out, we had to use the stairs - 11 floors !!! up and down ! ahh with dead cockroaches all the way, up and down. Worst hotel stay ever. Please do yourself a favor and if you HAVE to visit Middland for any reason, DONT stay there.

This hotel is not up to par with other Double Tree Hilton hotels that I have stayed at. Every hotel hotel of this caliber that I have stay at, including the Double Tree chain, have standard amenities such as mini fridges, microwaves, a small counter area for preparing coffee/tea/drinks, and a walk in shower. This hotel has none of that. In fact, I had to request a mini fridge for a few groceries I picked up on my way to the hotel, and the front desk said that these only provide upon request when booking, and generally there needs to be a medical reason. He mentioned that they had prior guest that left food in the fridge or left dirty microwaves, so the hotel pulled them at some point. I finally got a mini fridge delivered to my room, and it looked like they pulled it from the back of a storage room where its been wasting away. The fridge was covered in scratches and dents and looked like it had been tossed around carelessly. This hotel doesnt seem to understand the concept that reason people stay in nicer hotel chains like this are for the amenities, and cleaning out mini fridges or microwaves is a standard service that hotel cleaning staff perform as part of the service. Im not suggesting leaving a dirty or trashed room, but suggesting that because the hotel cant be bothered to perform the very services that are expected by patrons of a hotel of this caliber as a justifiable reason not to provide expected amenities or services is beyond ridiculous. To top it all off, the hotel WiFi was abysmal. A simple speed test was barely pulling over 2MB download and maybe 4MB upload. And to make matters worse, they use the older digitally locked TVs that do not allow you to connect your own streaming device such as Firestick or Roku. The remote used to control the TV looks like a childs toy and has only very basic functions, including power on/off, change channels, and change volume. There is not even a way to get to the channel guide to see whats on. You can only scroll through the channels to see what is on. Also, the door lock was clearly damaged from what looks like someone trying to kick in the door, and is half hanging off the hinge. These rooms are motel quality at best and not remotely worth the cost. While the hotel staff are friendly enough for the most part, this does not remotely make up for the poor experience caused by the lack of basic amenities and services expected of any hotel of this caliber.

The bar on the first and third floor are extremely dark and doesn t have enough barstools. The bathroom for a 2 queens room was so tiny and the water pressure was terrible. Unpon arrival I didnt feel welcome. Felt more like I bothered the front desk clerk. Had a hard time checking in due to the hotel canceling my reservation. most hotel times check in is 3 and check out is 11 or 12. Since I knew I was arriving at 5am I booked and paid for a extra day in advance. All hotels Ive ever stayed only cancel you if you only reserve but dont pay in advance. I guess this one is different.
