My sister has been in here twice. Once was about 2 years ago and shes just there. Now shes been there about 2 weeks for rehab. This place is a cleanest place. Ive ever been in. The staff is very friendly harrehab. The has been the best. She was at another facility, the 1st of May when she had her shoulder replacement. And oh my God, it was nasty. They didnt do therapy very good. I recommend this hospital to a one.

Supposed to be a decision maker with my mother. Not the case. R.I.P Mother. Will never recommend this place for many other reasons. Not happy at all. The decision was made to let her die. They tried to call me after she had died. I am a decision maker? I guess her only living daughter was not! Never forgive this place.

This place took really good care of my father-in-law for two months, Dr P made sure to keep us informed. My father in law was really really sick and wasn t always nice to the nurse assistants, but that did not stop any of the staff from treating him was kindness, compassion, and comfort. Once he started getting better, Vanessa the therapist would work with him in the gym, she was so encouraging and motivated him!! Maria Hool the housekeeper was ao kind and made sure to offer words of encouragement everyday. This place is so special, they made all my family cry when my Father in law graduated and got to home.

My aunt was at Mesquite Specialty for a short while. From the beginning to end you could feel the love surrounding her via staff. Pearl or Perla, gave me a tour of the facility. It calmed my nerves which help me with my aunt s transition there. I was very nervous and unsure of the unknown. Staff was very friendly and welcoming! Therapy team also were amazing! Highly recommended!

I would like to start by saying that Mesquite Specialty Hospital will forever be engraved in our hearts in the worst of ways possible, having come from such a caring hospital to a place where we were forced to complain on a DAILY basis is simply disgusting to say the least. My father deserved far better treatment during his final days. I was his primary caregiver and can honestly say that a facility with worse neglect does not exist, my father had been through many hospitalizations in past years, it was not our first rodeo, but this is where his life ended sooner than was anticipated given the notorious lack of: Receiving care that is respectful and considerate of your personal values and beliefs. Receiving care that is safe and free from abuse or neglect. Receiving information about your diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis in a way that you can understand. Not allowed to participate in decisions about your care. They will inaccurately convey grievance reports. If you believe your rights have been violated, you should directly file report to ensure you, or your loved ones voices are heard. Sadly, for insurance reasons, he was forced to stay here without the possibility to transfer elsewhere to continue medical care unless it was strictly requested by the doctor in the facility, despite how unhappy he was about their care, they would not release him by will. He passed away 6/3/23.

The WORST facility to have a loved one in. If you really care about whoever you are thinking about sending here SEND THEM ELSEWHERE.

84 year old Parkinson s and dementia patient had partial hip replacement. The last experience we had was not so good but they have turned things around. The staff was amazing and attended to all of her needs promptly. I cannot say enough good things about the physical therapy and especially speech therapy. These tea S are the reason you want your loved ones going here. The rating of 4 is because we felt the doctor and pharmacy were a little disconnected from family. They could improve by communication with the family. I would highly recommend this hospital for rehabilitation.

My mother was very sick over the last few years. In and out of the hospital quite a few times. She went to Mesquite Speciality for rehab after one of her hospital stays. She was treated very well by everyone we came In contact with. She did well and was able to go home. During her last hospital stay she was asking if she could get out of hear and go to Mesquite Specialty. That speaks loudly of how she was treated and how she was comfortable at MSH. My mother spent the last hours of her life at Mesquite Specialty.Everyone was very supportive and compassionate. When you are going through something like this it is comforting to have people around that love their job and not just after a paycheck! The people at MSH love their job!

In February 2022 My mother got admitted there and the first night the night staff Shift NURSE and PCT AND TECH was arguing with each other. It was like a WAR with the Nigerian and other cultures was battling it out with each other! This was repeated the whole two weeks at night when my mother was there. We even overheard some of the employees saying they wouldnt let their dog come to this facility. When my mother was there at night I didnt feel that it was safe for her and knowing that they made the guest at 8:00 p.m. But We did experience a (little)nicer from the day crew. I still have nightmares thinking about this place.

If I could them zero stars I would. Please do not take your loved ones here, the lack of communication from nursing staff, to the case manager, to even the CEO...We placed a formal complaint and per the CEO we were supposed to receive a formal letter and never did. The only good people in this place is the therapists minus one by the name of Carmen. They dont take your concerns seriously and would much rather blame you and the patient for what happens. Specifically when they let a patient fall out of a wheelchair four times under their care and then blame the patient versus taking responsibility. Even after they release the patient from their care they dont bother to send him home with proper equipment then we have to call and call and wait around for the case manager to get in gear and order the equipment. Seriously, over this place and plan to make higher complaints with Texas Medical Board in hopes they will take my concerns more seriously.

My mother died in this place. They falsified information and was cited federally and at the state level. They will skip medications and mark that they gave it. Some nurses are good but there is a culture of mediocrity. They will be neglectful if you are not there everyday. I filed complaints over and over. The day I had to go to work, my mother went on life support and was unresponsive. If your loved one has to go to this place. Be there everyday...several times a day.

Went to interview for one specific position, after being told I had the job was asked to come interview for another position in which I originally applied. After only being there or the city for my second time ever I was running a bit behind to the 2interview maybe 15-20 min only because it was set for 9:30 am which was also awkward and also my commute there was an hr. And there were a lot of wrecks that particular morning in which was confirmed by the receptionist in which I deeply explained and tried to plead with them after again already being offered another position the prior 2 days before & was told that the manager was not interested in interviewing me at all and was sent home and asked to call hr later about the position I was already offered . I called hr later that day to check the status and was told not only did she speak with that particular manager But she also spoke to the Head director of the facility and neither were interested in me for the position. I felt humiliated cause how could an place of employment not care so much about any potential candidates that they would not understand the unforeseen circumstances that s was going on that particular morning at and completely disregard someone without even meeting them first. Smh if u want to work here please be PERFECT!

I read many reviews before deciding to take my father here. He had a massive stroke and was placed in ICU due to being on a ventilator. Let me first talk about the doctor. Dr. Panousieris was the primary doctor for my father. Upon meeting him, I was very at ease and comfortable with him. He took the time to explain everything, good and bad, about my dad s health. This was a very difficult time for us and he helped by telling us what he would do if that was his father laying in the bed. Some doctors do not have that level of bedside manner that some people need/crave during hard times. Thank you Dr. Panousieris for all you did. Now I would like to talk about the nurses. Every nurse that had the task of taking care of my dad was very attentive to not only him but my mother as well. Moji, Helen, Fasika, Rukia, and the glowing nurse that was pregnant at the time or any other nurse or aid I may have forgot please forgive me. You guys are all AWESOME!!! I know my father had many difficulties and you all stayed on top of it. Mr. Roland...you are truly a man of God! You spoke so many words of wisdom to my mother and I. You helped give us comfort, peace and understanding during this time. May God continue to bless you each and every day. Lastly, I want to speak on the Respiratory team. There are not enough words to express my gratitude to you all. David, Valli, Sam, Chris and Eric, you guys are ROCKSTARS!! The concern you all showed for my father was unmeasurable. I loved getting to know a little about each one of you. Valli, you are a comforter sent from God. We thank you so much for being there at the most difficult time in our life. You stayed with us to ease our pain and minds when you did not have to. You along with everyone at Mesquite Speciatly Hospital are truly a part of me and my family s heart. I also want to give a shoutout to the Kitchen. They would come by to make sure my mother was also taking care of herself while she was sitting with my dad. I may not be able to speak for the entire hospital but what I do know is if your loved one needs to go to ICU, bring them to Mesquite Specialty Hospital.

Just a bunch of people collecting a check, which translates to poor patient care. Know your rights under Medicare! You DO HAVE choice of facilities. You are NOT required to go where the hospital tells you have to go. It is a Medicare requirement for you to be provided ALL choices. My family member was here and this place was just plain terrible. Family member laid in soiled linens and we had to ask for clean linens and change them ourselves.

I know its been a few months but let me tell you my experience there.. it will shock you. As i was transferred there from Sunnyvale. The minute i enter there was this smell from the sewer. I was told they always had that problem. As for my care... I received the PICC line which I really didnt want but was pressure into one. The irritation of the tape was affecting my skin around a PICC line. I spoke to the doctor about it he said he will talk to the nurse to have it retaped and clean. When I spoke to the nurse about what the doctor had said she raised her voice yelling at me and said that she was not going to do it. I spoke to coordinator about the incident. They said they would have a talk with the nurse. The next day I saw the same nurse. I tried to get in touch with the coordinator because I didnt feel comfortable with the nurse at hand. As I called the front desk to let them know the front desk called and the nurse responded by walking into my room asking what was the problem. I didnt want to speak to her as I felt uncomfortable and had my cell phone in hand. As she saw me trying to make a phone call she took the cell phone away for me as well as a hospital phone and would not let me use the phone. She continued to try to hold me as I asked her repeatedly to not touch me. She stood in front of me towering over me as I am disabled and not able to move sitting in my hospital bed. As I sat there crying asking her to please leave she wouldnt and again continue to try to hold me. Repeatedly again asked her not to touch me as I felt uncomfortable with her being around me. As another nurse came in i asked her in Spanish to help me. She had told the nurse to leave while shes talk to me, the nurse rudely left. As I explained to the nurse technician about what had happened she said she was going to talk to a supervisor. This was a very frightening moment for me which Ive never experienced before in a hospital or any other facility. The fear of not being able to call out for help and the fear knowing the people who are supposed to take care of you instill that fear. Unfortunately this is just one of the many many incident that I endured while I was there. I do not recommend this place to my worst of worst enemies. So good luck and I hope this helps.

My son was there 2 months ago and he was very unhappy with the treatment he received. The nurses and techs are as sorry as sorry can be. They would take their time answering the call button and some nights it would stay on for over an hour. The administrator and director of nurses had no control over the way patients are treated and dont seem to really care. We met with both of them and nothing changed. MSH is not cheap so dont waste your ins going there because you will be disappointed.

Ive watched so many patients die in 4 months it was sickening. I was caring for a patient at 8am my patient whom had a bed sore had a bm i cleaned her up and called the nurse for wound care simce bowel had gotten inside patient wound and bandage i called the nurse for hrs,and it wasnt until 4pm my patient received wound care and that was from me asking another nurse to do so. Almost everyone that works there is ghetto and very unprofessional.,Ive been in a patient room and can hear 2 nursea arguing about personal stuff at the nurses station. Ive seen nurses blatantly disrespecting the charge nurse calling her dumb to her face. And dont ask for help the natural response u will get is not my patient.

I give it no stars at ALL. My sister was there to recover from surgery ICU. I can not believe how she was treated. There was one nurse there. I believe a day nurse her name is Donna and another one that my sister could not remember. If I could the pictures on here that I took I would. But anyway my sister has a womb vac on her stomach, but no matter she should not have a bath like this. This nurse Donna rung out the wash cloth over my sisters body and her hair. And let the water run all over her face. Left her to dry for awhile and then went in there and finally changed her bedding. But left her there not covered and she got cold from not getting dried off. Then there was a time that she needed to get up and go to the potty chair. She was made to get up by herself when of her door there was a sign that said FALL RISK!. And was laughing and talking about her when she was trying. My sister also has AFIB. For some who doesnt know what that knows it could be that her heart skips beats or it beats to fast. Again those nurses where talking and laughing about it. They told her you not having AFIB, my sister said NOT NOW. She was so upset they were talking about her. She had a TV in her room and a curtain that swings back. She ask the nurse Donna if she would please move the curtain so she could see the TV and that nurse told her if she wanted to watch TV she needs to set up out of bed. Mind you now my sister was in ICU. She finally told me what was all going on and trust me that was not all. Her husband and I went up there on the third day that she was there and took her our of there.. I would love for Social Security and any Insurance co. to know what goes on in the hospital.
