I heard about the play The Belle of Amherst on the radio and knew I had to go, given that Emily Dickinson is my favorite poet! It was my first time attending, and I was so very pleased and moved by the fabulous performance! I didnt know what to expect, but the moment I stepped inside and saw how thoughtfully the stage was set I felt excited for what was to come! In many ways the performance was very much representative of how Ive often imagined The Poets life at her home in Amherst to have been, having read several of her biographies. I especially appreciated how the actress, Julie Phillips, wove so many of Emily Dickinsons poems into the unfolding drama of her everyday and sequential life. The performance moved me to tears in spots that seemed to align with both The Poets poetry and my own feelings germaine to my own experiences in life; something that I did not expect to occur. I would love to come and catch another performance before the show closes! It is very evident that Ms. Phillips, by virtue of her comprehensive and riveting portrayal has revery and great sense of passion for the poetry of Emily Dickinson, as well as a keen depth of understanding of The Poets intentions, vulnerabilities, hopes and aspirations! This performance was like much-needed medicine for my soul!

Just watched a brilliant performance of Guess Whos Coming To Dinner. Had some initial resetvation about seeing a 40/50 year old story and its influence in todays society. I laughed, I wept and most of all i learned a bit more about me. The play was cast perfectly and opening night was a soldout sensation! Highly recommend it.

Our Sunday school class saw Curtains. Most of us walked out at intermission - actors were cussing and show had sexual inuindos.

Great, intimate community theater. I have seen two plays there and enjoyed them both. Will be going to see Curtains in a week or so. If you live outside of Mesquite and your a supporter of the Arts, they would love to see you. Make the drive and help the arts thrive.
