My husband and I recently had our wedding at The Melissa Barn at HD Ranch and loved not only the venue but the team. Everyone we worked with was professional, extremely kind, and helped our vision come to life. Our guests loved the venue and how everything (ceremony and reception) was in one place. The team was also extremely accommodating as it rained/thunder-stormed on our wedding day. They were able to put my mind at ease and move everything inside. I also appreciated how they gave recommendations for vendors from food, florist, to music. Huge shoutout to Nate! He was great to work with and was there to answer any and all questions about the lodging offered by the venue and miscellaneous questions along the way. If you have the opportunity, Id highly recommend this venue and team. Theyre simply amazing at what they do :).

I am not a person that leaves reviews for everywhere I go to, so future party planners, brides, grooms, or businesses know I am speaking the truth. My husband and I got married January 14, 2024 at The Melissa Barn. From the get go Nate was very helpful. He would answer a phone call at any almost any time. He helped calm my nerves through the whole process. Without Nate who knows if I would have even had a wedding. I have always dreamt of a Christmas themed wedding; however, I didnt want the weather that comes with Christmas, so I figured by having a wedding in January we would be perfectly fine. Well the coldest day that Texas has had this year fell right on my wedding day. I was so worried we were going to have to cancel due to the possibility of sleet/ice. Nate and Darrel both quickly and eagerly came up with a backup option. We had planned to have the wedding outside, but obviously we had to move it inside. Even if we kept it outside they both were figuring out ways to keep our guest warm. Darrel was running around helping make sure that I was okay. He had a plan to keep me warm from the house to the barn. Darrel and Nate are both amazing people and they ran everything so smoothly. I could not have gotten married without them. I highly highly recommend The Melissa Barn for any special occasion.

I fell in love with this venue online and when i came to tour it, it was way more them i could have even imagined i booked a little over a year in advance and the team at the melissa barn were amazing with updates, check ins, were great with communication i never felt lost or like i didn t know what was going on, day of was storming in the morning nate made sure we had a plan for a indoor or outdoor ceremony when arriving at the venue the groom and my self were able to go to our own suites the bridal suit being a 12 sleeper with a living room and beautiful kitchen and beautiful master with a luxury master bath to get ready In a beautiful backyard with a pool and bar area to keep everyone busy while my hair took 2 hours lol but my whole wedding party said it was extremely convent having the suits acrossed the path way so it didn t take long making last minute arrangements the venue it self everyone was obsessed with it is absolutely the most gorgeous place to get married the outdoor ceremony is gorgeous with the natural flowers they have! The indoor reception area was able to fit all my guest and dj, bar, Photo Booth and full buffet style caterer overall have 0 complaints if I did it all over again this would be the venue every time it was so convenient for guest not needing any transportation from ceremony to venue it s was just perfect the Melissa barn family makes you feel so welcome and make sure to let you know it s your day!!! Thank you for making my wedding perfect!

I can t even put into words how great Nate and Darrell at The Melissa Barn are. Since the day I met them and toured the venue I knew this was the place for our wedding. The whole property is BEAUTIFUL. Nate and Darrell are the nicest and most helpful team to work with. To the numerous trips out there prior to the wedding to making our vision come to life, they helped with it all and made it happen! Our guest count ended up being more than we initially thought but with Nate s ideas we were able to comfortably accommodate almost 200 people perfectly! Being able to stay on the property throughout the wedding takes so much stress away plus the house is beautiful and very spacious. Nate and Darrell are constantly adding improvements to the property. Every time I would come out there there d be something new done and made the property even more beautiful. I will forever recommend Nate, Darrell and The Melissa Barn!

We couldnt have asked for a more special place for the most special day of our lives. This venue is absolutely perfect if youre looking for an intimate setting that embodies beauty, nature, and rustic elegance. The best part was working with the owners, Darrell and Nate, who did everything possible to make sure we felt supported every step of the way. We now consider them a part of our family and will be back to visit the Melissa Barn very soon!

Absolutely LOVED them!! Nate & Darrell definitely made every step of the wedding process easy as could be. They were so understanding, flexible, and quick to respond at any time of day! My husband and I researched a TON of venues before discovering The Melissa Barn. They were the first one we toured in person and we instantly fell in love!! Amazing blend of rustic & cozy and the perfect size for our wedding (roughly 80 people) but definitely could hold over 100 comfortably! Bridal Suite & (newly built) Groom s Quarters worked perfect for us. Bridal suite was the house on site - HUGE! Groom s Quarters was a garage they transformed (BIG upgrade from the RV) and it came with pool table, poker table, TV, and little bar area. Both came with full bathrooms. Both Nate & Darrell were on site during the wedding day, which helped so much! We had full access to their on-site warehouse for decor & tables, that beautiful old-school truck, golf carts, and so much more! Absolutely LOVE The Melissa Barn!! Thank you so much Nate & Darrell for making it such an amazing day!

We fell in love the second we stepped into the Melissa Barn and it turned out to be the most beautiful and perfect weekend celebrating our wedding with friends and family! Hosting our wedding at The Melissa Barn was an absolutely incredible experience from the start to finish. When we first sent an inquiry nearly a year prior, Darrell and his son Nate responded immediately with available dates for a tour. Darrell greeted us and made us feel like we were not just a number. The love and passion that Darrell has for the property was evident when we met him for our first tour! The communication and personalized experience only got better as we approached our date! The barn is warm, inviting, a perfect size for an intimidate wedding. We fell in love with the ceremony area and envisioned getting married under the altar and taking photos throughout the beautifully landscaped property. Compared to other venues that charged an arm and a leg for every detail, they had a lot of options that made planning and decorating much easier! The HD crew was extremally responsive to our many texts and questions and provided a curated list of vendors who work closely at the ranch. And because they had all hosted weddings there in the past, everything seemed to go that much smoother the day of! Darrell and his son were onsite with us throughout the entire weekend and were so meticulous and detail-oriented. I even caught Darrell outside the venue the morning of the wedding pulling weeds on his hands and knees! Thats how dedicated he is! It really felt like they were doing their absolute best to make our wedding special. Here are the things that we LOVED about the property that felt were unique and special to this venue. We were able to host our entire weekend onsite with plenty of parking and space for friends and family to stay onsite. Other family and friends stayed just down the street at their own hotel or airbnb, but essentially there were tons of spots for lodging for folks who traveled out of town. We were able to check in on Thursday for the weekend and get set up for our entire event! This allowed us to get groceries and set up our decor in advance which made for an easier process. Friday evening we had all of our guests at the Barn for BBQ and rehearsal dinner and then we all just hung out at the property. We had around 80 people on Friday and then around 100+ on Saturday and it felt like the perfect sized event. We LOVED having everything in one place so that we could do rehearsal dinner, welcome bonfire, ceremony, getting ready, photos, etc.! The kids played and swam in the pool all weekend. It was hugely convenient and the best part was that we got the most out of our time with friends and family. Everyone told us that we seemed like a very relaxed couple on our wedding day and I truly think thats because the Melissa Barn made it so easy to plan and have everyone and everything in one place. Darrell and Nate allowed us to use all of the spaces on the property and checked in to ensure that we had what we needed. We used the golf cart to go back and forth across the driveway while setting up and tearing down, and we even used it as our getaway vehicle for our mock exit during the reception! It was just the most special and quaint experience! We also have to mention that Darrell and Nate worked overtime to finish renovating their new grooms quarters in time for our wedding. We were literally the first wedding that got to use it, and it is absolutely stunning in there!! Darrell and Nate truly outdid themselves and we are eternally grateful, because it made the entire wedding weekend better than we could have ever dreamed! We cannot say enough positive things about this venue or the family that runs the property! Our friends and family were just gushing about how much fun the entire weekend was and I know that is because we had the space to really relax, have fun, and there was something for everyone!! The Melissa Barn at HD ranch was such a fabulous place for our family reunion, with the most amazing hospitality from Darrell and his son Nate. Our needs were different than many, being a family reunion with children so our goal was pool-time lounging, a few family photos and overall relaxing good times. all achieve! The house is not huge but had a workable kitchen, a few tables, lounging couches with large coffee table that was perfect for games. The ping pong table and foosball in the garage and pool table in the house were a big hit and great for entertaining all ages. The backyard pool area was beautiful, lovely sized pool, variety of seating options, and a great outdoor covered lounge area complete with restroom, couches and cute saddle bar stools! The backyard itself was large enough for cornhole (provided by the barn), frisbee and general scampering around of the kiddos. The kitchen was well-equipped and in good repair. There is an extra fridge and tall freeze in the garage, which we needed. The venue space was beautiful, smelled great, had great AC, great AV system and would make an absolutely stunning backdrop for wedding receptions or other celebrations. The outdoor ceremony space and surrounding path and garden area were just beautiful. We loved having plenty of parking for all the family cars and space to just be together. The house and backyard hosted 40 folks for dinner on multiple nights with ease and all were impressed with the space. I cannot stress enough how communicative and helpful Darrell was. He brought us new ping pong paddles and darts to ensure we had enough. He came by to check on a wasp nest and immediately removed for us. 100/100 for the way Darrell as host made our stay so easy and wonderful.

The Melissa Barn at HD Ranch was all we ever wanted and more. We had friends & family in from California to Tennessee and many, along with both of us, stayed on site in the house and RV for 5 days. We enjoyed the backyard pool, bbq & fire pit leading up to our wedding day and the wedding was simply PERFECT. Darrell & Nate were so gracious and supportive with anything we needed or requested and they are just good people that enjoyed helping make our special day so special. We did our engagement photos there, as well, and they were very accommodating with props and ideas. The Melissa Barn deserves a million stars. The property is absolutely breath taking, from the wonderful landscaping to the beautiful repurposed wood in the barn that looks and smells incredible. The venue providing a full weekend package with the house allowed us to extend our celebrations, provide sleeping arrangements for our bridal party, and extra time for a very relaxing and stress free set up & clean up. The pool table and ping pong table were bonus points for the groomsmen while the ladies got ready! They also have a garage on the property stocked with decorations that really helped with staying in budget. Nate the venue manager did such an amazing job with vendor recommendations, answering questions in a timely manor, and being an extra set of hands the day of our wedding. The Melissa Barn Actually convinced a few of our engaged friends to reconsider their venues due to how accommodating and relaxing the whole experience was.

We had my daughters surprise 18th birthday party at this venue last year and it was great!! Catered dinner, a band and about 100 people - it was so much fun. I couldn t be happier with how wonderful our experience was and how beautiful our wedding turned out due to Darrell and Heather. They went above and beyond to make it so special for us. The house was perfect for us all to stay in and the venue couldn t be more perfect for a special day. I ve gotten so many texts and calls on how beautiful the venue looked and how great all the catering was. We chose Crawford Family BBQ 5 STAR, it was the best bbq we ve had in a long time. We also used Jordyn Kling as our photographer and we both are so impressed and amazed with how wonderful she was! Made our wedding amazing. Can t tell you how happy my wife and I are about everything. Town was super fun for both of our families to go hangout and the Grande Hotel in Mckinney was my parents favorite. We had an incredible, incredible experience with Melissa Barn! The owner Darell is a generous, kind soul who works tirelessly to make sure your day goes perfectly smoothly! The entire staff is so sweet, thoughtful, thorough, and professional. The space is beautiful and they continue to make it better and better. The other houses on the grounds are great spaces to get ready and the groom s rv is so fun! My husband and his groomsmen loved it. There s also the cutest truck on site for photos. The reception space and ceremony (if you choose indoors) is so beautiful! It s also perfectly ventilated. The temperature was perfect. They have fans and heaters and everything you may need. The outdoor ceremony space is so intimate and beautiful. If you are having a smaller wedding (around 120 or less, ask them for specifics) I could not recommend a better venue!! Story: we had a family emergency and had to reschedule our wedding. We reached out to Melissa Barn and Darell worked tirelessly to help us plan the wedding on the new wedding date and gave us access to so many extras that made the day beautiful!! Honestly, even if your wedding is bigger I would reach out to Melissa Barn to get their vendor list because everyone they work with is incredible and will make your day go so much smoother.

Darrell and Nate are amazing to work with! I had the pleasure of working with them for over a year as I planned my wedding. I toured countless wedding venues and I must say they were the only venue that truly made me feel like I was the only bride they were working with (which I know I wasnt!!). They were very responsive and extremely helpful with allll of my questions. Their hospitality goes above and beyond expectations. Even my friends and family who attended our wedding told me not only how beautiful the venue was but how impressed they were with the owners involvement (yes Darrell and Nate both attended my wedding!). It gave me peace of mind having them there but also felt like they were apart of the family. There are many factors that sets the Melissa Barn apart from other wedding venues but the most important they are constantly making improvements to their venue! From the time I signed my contract to my wedding date (about 1 year and 4 months) they had planted beautiful landscaping, added turf, updated the master bath in the house, and countless other improvements. Would highly recommend! The venue is absolutely beautiful, with little decorations needed and well priced. The property has both indoor or outdoor ceremony options which was very appreciated with Texas weather being so unpredictable. Guest house is on site and sleeps up to 13 people, which was perfect for our wedding party.

The Melissa Barn was the perfect venue for our wedding! I planned my wedding while I still lived in Massachusetts and I booked the venue without even seeing it in person thats how confident I was in Darrell and everyone there. When I finally visited the venue it was just as amazing as all of the photos and was the perfect size for the 100 person wedding we were having. The ceremony area and barn were beautiful and look so good in photos and have a really good layout. Both Darrell and Nate were so helpful with set up and breakdown so I had nothing to worry about on my wedding day. The house on the property was the perfect spot to have the rehearsal dinner and getting ready the morning of the wedding, so I definitely recommend adding those on. Overall The Melissa Barn hit all the things we wanted for a wedding venue and I know they will for you too! Could not recommend them enough!

From the moment we started working with the owners at Melissa Barn, we were pleasantly surprised and amazed with their hospitality and willingness to help us find the perfect venue for our wedding. They even held the venue for us during an ice storm to ensure we had a chance to look at it in a safe manner. The moment we set eyes on the property, we knew it was the place for us! The atmosphere and layout of the property is so inviting and just welcomes families and calls for a calm, fun, and inviting nature. If the property itself didn t sell us, we met Darrel and Nate and knew immediately that this was the venue for us! They were so warm and willing to help us in every way they could. They are honest, trustworthy and you can tell they truly love what they do. Darrel has such a passion for what he does and for making every family feel right at home in his presence. He and Nate are so personable, sincere, and helpful. The property has everything you could want and need. With a complete area for hosting outside on the property with couches & a pavilion, to a nice HUGE pool that is perfect for hosting your guests. The venue was so beautifully laid out and impressive. Our friends and family could not stop raving about how beautiful everything was, not only during our wedding, but the entire weekend. Darrell and Nate were more than accommodating; answering every question we had with patience and friendliness, going out of their way to provide items that we need, rearranging furniture and chairs per our requests. They even went as far as to come out to the property during our stay when we had the wrong setting on the refrigerator and thought it was not working. They spoiled our wedding guests by carting them from the parking lot to the venue and even spoiled my husband by letting him drive around the property in their golf cart the whole weekend! I can not talk about this property and the owners enough! By the time we were done with the wedding weekend, we were truly sad because we felt like Darrell and Nate were part of our family and we wanted to take them home with us! Simply put, BOOK THIS VENUE! You will NOT be disappointed! This venue is a true 10 out of 10 and the hosts are even more amazing than the venue. Thank you Darrell and Nate for making our wedding dreams come true!

The perfect venue with super attentive people in a gorgeous property! The Melissa Barn staff was very accommodating and helpful thru our DYI wedding. They even have some decor available to use! We rented the whole property for the weekend which allowed us to spend more time with family and friends. It was clean and has lots of fun games. The day of the ceremony the owner personally transports the bride in a fancy golf cart and takes care of every detail! So if you are looking for a beautiful outside ceremony, a stunning indoor reception venue and want to work with great people then the Melissa Barn is for you! (Yes, go for the weekend package, you won t regret it! )

My husband and I cannot express how amazing The Melissa Barn was for our wedding. Their team was such a huge help along the way and even left our reception to go pick up fans for the dance floor when it got warm. Darrell is very responsive and attentive to his clients and is always professional. We had our wedding on July 4th at the Melissa Barn. Words can t begin to describe the experience from start to finish! We rented the venue for the weekend which was absolutely gorgeous and super clean. We enjoyed the sparkling pool and adorable cabana that was on property. Also, the pool area had surround sound which was super nice! Darrell was seriously the most accommodating host who always checked in to see if we needed anything. The night of our wedding was spectacular! The surrounding properties had fireworks going off all over which could be seen all around the barn. Also, all of his vendor recommendations were top notch!! Even the police officer David was incredibly friendly! The barn was set up absolutely perfect for the DJ, food, and reception. The hand made wood tables really added a nice touch. All of our guest have been calling us for days to tell us how much fun the entire experience was! Darrell deserves way more than 5 stars!! I would recommend this venue for any event!! I had my wedding at the Melissa Barn this past weekend and it was perfect! We had to change our wedding plans and original venue 45 days before our planned date due to COVID-19 and Im so happy we found the Melissa Barn. They made the process so easy and were very accommodating to help make our dream wedding happen. The venue is beautiful and the owner, Darrell, and the venue manager, Hannah, were easy to work with and very helpful. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the barn and the ceremony site were. We also stayed in the house that is on the property with our bridal party. The house is beautiful, we loved sitting outside by the pool and having a BBQ the night before. Having the house on the property was perfect to get ready in the day of the wedding and made everything very convenient. Would definitely recommend the Melissa Barn for an intimate, beautiful wedding!

The Melissa Barn at HD Ranch was the PERFECT venue for my elopement! They say that it is the perfect combination of rustic, romantic, and relaxing - and thats EXACTLY what it is! We had an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. When you walk in the venue, you immediately feel like you are right at home. The owners and the Venue Manager also do a fantastic job at making you feel welcome. I learned that the owner built the venue himself, and you can tell that he put great effort into making every single little detail perfect! Not only were the tables and chairs included in my Micro-Wedding package, but all the decor was included as well - I didnt have to spend a penny on decor! I loved being able to get ready in the Bridal Suite at the house, and my husband absolutely loved spending time in the hidden Grooms Quarters. We wouldnt change anything about our special day - it was absolutely perfect and stress free! I cant wait to go back to The Melissa Barn!
