Our server was great she was very professional, very sweet. Few complaints:: 1. They ask you to leave a 5 star review to take 15-20% off your bill.(optional) 2. Coco bread was raw inside 3. Drinks were WATERED down ... ew 4. They kept rearranging the tables while we were eating it was so annoying. 5. Rice and peas and NO FLAVOR. 6.i asked for extra spice on my food... or some kind of pepper the food tasted almost watered down like it was re heated. Never got the extra pepper. Compliments:: 1. As a jamaican the vibe was there. 2. Patty was great. (Almost 6$-1patty) is a bit crazy to me but it wasnt bad. Overall 6/10- this place was recommended I drove 1hr to the location... definitely wouldnt make that drive again.

Update: Came for a second with a group of friends because I wanted to show them the great experience I had the first time. But today 09/22/2024 was the total opposite. We waited a little over an hour for our food before asking to speak to the manager. And this was after witnessing 4 different tables that came in after us get served food. We asked her what was going on and she explained that our tickets were overlooked and they realized it 40 minutes after they received the tickets. One of my friends asked the manager if that was our fault because we thought we did the right thing of ordering our drinks and food together because we saw how busy they were while waiting to be seated for 30 minutes. The manager said it wasn t but that this is what happened and my friend asked if we can be compensated for the inconvenience and she offered 15% off. Another 30 minutes go by and at this point our inexperienced waitress told us 3 times that our food was in the process of being made and will come out shortly. So after 2 hours we asked for our tickets and declined on our food. We wanted to leave. I drove 50 minutes away for this experience! Never again. So our waitress came back and told us that both the managers said that the food is on its way and they were wondering if we would want to go ahead and have it. At that point I asked why didn t she bring it with her or better yet why aren t the managers coming over to tell us. Because for me as a manager myself, I find it very unacceptable and unprofessional that the manager wouldn t that on this situation and resolve it. They sent the waitress to do the work. We declined the food and demanded our tickets to pay for our drinks. I hope the owners Marsha and Adrian Telfer improve management going forward. But it really doesn t matter for me because I won t come back.

The Tour of Jamaica is an absolute culinary delight! This dish takes you on a vibrant journey through the rich flavors of Jamaica, with every bite telling a story of tradition and authenticity. The smoky jerk chicken was perfectly spiced, with just the right balance of heat and savory goodness. The tender, juicy oxtail melts in your mouth, leaving behind a deep, satisfying taste that lingered long after each bite. The accompanying rice and cabbage was the perfect side, flavorful yet not overpowering, allowing the main stars to shine. The food was cooked to perfection and combined to create a truly memorable meal.Jazias service was just as outstanding as the food! She was incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive.Jazia checked in on us at just the right moments, and her warm and friendly attitude made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

I recently visited Reggae Jerk Hut in McKinney, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with vibrant Caribbean vibes that set the tone. I started with a Jamaican beef patty that was perfectly flaky and packed with flavor these are a must try! For drinks, I had the Flight to Jamaica, a fantastic mix of blueberry mojito, coconut martini, blue lagoon, and rum punch. Each drink was refreshing , my favorite was the coconut martini and the rum punch however, none of them were my least favorite if that makes sense lol . The Tour of Jamaica platter was the entree, with an assortment of curry goat, braised oxtails, jerk chicken, and festivals. It was a generous portion and perfect for sharing. I also ordered mac & cheese, but was pleasantly surprised with a Mac & Cheese Oxtail Skillet. Although I m usually not a fan of mixing, other intense with macaroni the oxtail was seasoned to perfection I was too full for dessert this time, but I ll definitely be back for the red snapper and rum cake. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Caribbean cuisine in Dallas!

I ordered 12 Wings to go. Half RJH Honey Bbq Jerk and Honey Lemon pepper. I wanted to like the wings so bad but I did not enjoy them at all. The RJH Wings had a unique taste for sure but i ve had so many better flavors. I did enjoy the Jerk taste but i ve had a lot better. Felt like it was a little overcooked. The honey Lemon pepper was recommended by someone on the phone. I thought it was extremely sweet and not a good play on flavors. I definitely saw potential but I just rather choose to go to so many other places unfortunately. Service was okay, and the wait wasn t terrible but I was on the clock at work. I made sure to ask how long so I could make it quick and it took an extra 10 minutes. Wasn t greeted whenever I came in either. I d love to maybe try this again, maybe the wings just weren t for me but I m not sure I m willing to pay the high prices after my experience. I really did want to enjoy this spot because i work super close but this was just my experience. I ve heard lots of good reviews and things.

I m not a grandpa but I have a really low tone voice so it was hard for us to hear each other or our server Zee at times. Over all the Jerk is out of this world. Drinks were a 3 out of 5. The waitress knew nothing about the menu, she had to keep going back to ask for clarification. They had no Haitian black rice at 6:45pm on a Friday. The potato salad was more of a beet salad than potatoes. The conch fritters were more doughy than conch. The only that was please was the 6 y/o bcz she had Mac and cheese which was the last thing that came out. Food was lukewarm. Manager had major attitude and never apologized for all the things that happened. potato salad tasted like it was it was sour and room temperature. As a Haitian from New York, Married to a Jamaican. This was a disgrace. And they charged regular price for the drink during happy hours.

Lord, the customer here is HORRIBLE! Originally I was told I couldn t get a refund on my order bc I didn t inform them the same day, and o couldn t bc I placed the order at close. I called back and spoke to Sadhai, she was rude and the manager never called back! Yes, it was in May, however i informed them I do not crave their food on a daily nor monthly basis with the experience I had the last visit. Well, I called today and the First Lady that answered was rude, then she just gave the phone to another lady who was SO RUDE, accused me of getting loud and combative (in which the atmosphere in the background was loud and I explained to her I wasn t loud and rude, just speaking so that she could hear me)! Well, then the lady hanger the phone rudely as well to another gentleman Roger who empathized and apologized. When asking Roger the ladies name that was also rude it was the manager owner of the restaurant. Leader lead by example and that explains why the staff is rude! I think it s sad that you spend money at place like this and try to support black business, then be treated disrespectful and talked bad to. I don t like to done nor support businesses like this one! All of this over $21.00, is sad bc I will not be back and I ll pass the word on to colleagues and friends and strangers! Horrible service, food, and customer service! I did reply the next day as mentioned to the 1st rude staff member after each one of them just passed the phone to the guy without listening. I called the day after as previously stated bc you all were closed at the time I left picking up my order. WHEN I CALLED BACK IN MAY the lady Sadhai, that I spoke to on MAY 15th at 11:15 am and followed up several other times in between! You all were rude then and now! The order as I PREVIOUSLY mentioned was wrong! As I stated in the phone I WAS NOT IN A RUSH TO VISIT YOUR RESTAURANT AGAIN TO EXPERIENCE BAD SERVICE AND BE TREATED RUDLY! Sadhai, said she couldn t give me a refund when I did call back the next day and several days later. To rebuke me is crazy, I m a Christian woman so why would I make up something and yell at you all over some small wings! It s your poor customer service and approach to issues that needs rebuking. But, God, sits high and looks low and he knows the truth and all you all do! You were loud, over talking me, and YOU all had little to no patience to just listen to my little issue and handed the 3rd person the phone who just listened. You re displaying your actions, behavior, maturity and non-professionalism through your response! And further more to insult a persons mental state of mind or condition is another disrespectful issue that you need rebuking on. Why does a person have to have a mental condition and be crazy for calling you all out on your poor behavior! Anyway, carry on bc it s between you and God! I only tried supporting you all bc you re new and black-owned in the area. All of this treatment is sad and distasteful at this point! Good luck to you!

Honestly the service ruined the experience for me. We sat at the bar and this young girl who worked there would not take our order. I dont know if its because she noticed we were LGBT or what. But she deliberately wouldnt take our order. So the big guy I guess bartender said, he would take our order. However hes making drink after, drink after drink. So Im ready to go at this point. They are going to keep coming with drink so we are never going to place our order. He took order after order. So while we waiting on him. The young lady has taken at least 4 orders ahead of ours. Then we waited 35 minutes for our food. I had the $40 oxtails. That plate was skimpy and I had MAYBE 5 bones a bunch of rice etc. Mediocre at best is what I would call. By the time we finished our tab was $130 something. It was just 2 of us. $130 wasnt worth the mediocre plate or bad service.

.. when arriving there was a wait time of 35 mins which is fine we decided to wait and the host stated he will come get us from the car 35 minutes past and my husband went in and we notice the couple that was behind us was seated. Our table was ready. 20 minutes the waiter finally comes with water. We ordered everything at the same time appetizers, entree, drinks. Our appetizer (wings) came out at a reasonable time. Rate 2/10 horrible quality of wings or it could be the chicken over all because they had an old taste as if it s 1 day or more old chicken. After being at the restaurant for over an hr we didn t receive our drinks. We were told it s because the bartender just got back from somewhere?? I told the host we don t want them and she said they are being made 30 minutes later she brings the drinks anyway after telling her we do not want them. She walk off and gave our drinks to the dj.. I honestly would rate the over all experience a 3/10 only because of the dj.. oh yeah and don t get me started on the meat patties

Was very excited for this place. Staff: Very nice, smiles everywhere. Atmosphere: very clean, welcoming and great music Food: This is the reason they are getting a 3 star rating. I started with a spicy Jamaican patty which was bomb! Then I order the curry shrimp; presentation was very nice but it lacked so much flavor. The curry had no spice, the most bland curry I ve ever had. The rice and peas and cabbage were the same; no flavor and very bland. So I asked for pepper sauce but was given Tabasco . I asked for Carribean pepper sauce but they do not carry it. I will come back and try the jerk with fries but the curry, rice and peas and cabbage is a no go. I will stick with The island spot.

I went on a Sunday around 2:00 and the atmosphere was a vibe. There was a DJ until about 5:00ish. I lowered the rating as the wait time for our food was long and the food was ok, maybe a 7 out of 10. I ordered jerk chicken, rice & peas, and cabbage. Cabbage was nice and crisp (not too soggy), chicken wasnt too spicy (but not flavorful and lots of small bones) & the rice and peas we ok. My friend got the oxtails and the sauce was more like gravy and a bit bland, bt the meat was tender. My biggest complaint is I asked for a Bob Marley drink with no ice. Im know & OK with the glass not being full. I was told they could not give me a drink with out ice!?!?!? However, not only did she bring my drink with ice it was 1/3 the size of the normal glass. So I got what I didnt want (ice) and less than a normal portion. Im not sure how this added up but as a result, I didnt complain but I/we will not patronize this establishment again.

The atmosphere was chill mild reggae music not to loud. I waited about 5 mins for the server Jodeci who greeted me with water in hand took my drink order, with cocoa bread and my entree of oxtail Mac & Cheese. The food and drink was excellent not sure if it was worth the $$$ in portion size. Great place if you want to try something new, or date night.

Everything was ok because Ik he s a kid. Service could be better. When you walk in it feels like someone is suppose to greet you and seat you. No one was there and took them some time to notice we walked in. It also took a while to get our order taken. While we were waiting this lady stormed out with her kid while saying she waiting over an hour for her to-go order. Also, if all entrees come with plantain and you re out, you should say that up front verses nothing at all. I was expecting on my plate. Noticed they were missing, ask for them just to be disappointed. I asked if I could have more fiestas in replacement. He agreed then charged me for them. The food was mid. We order the chicken Rasta pasta, honestly could have made it better myself. They gave like 5 thin slices of chicken breast with drizzled bbq sauce. The white sauce was bland. Also order the tour of Jamaica. Curry goat, has a sweet taste to it. Not my cup of tea. Jerk chicken, taste like bbq chicken. Oxtail, was all fat! Rice & peas, ehh. It was ok. Honestly the best thing on the plate. In addition, I didn t even order that. I order the Haitian black rice. Same opinion, it was ehh. Both rice, were the best thing I ate. Ambience, I like the Bob Marley tribute. They have a turf wall you can take picture by. My opinion way too close to the booths for comfort. Not my cup of tea, but at least I could say I tried it.

I was really disappointed because jerk chicken is the one thing I look forward too when I get Jamaican food. WAIT TIME OVER AN HOUR for food Despite being seated promptly, we waited an unusually long time for food orders. While the staff was polite and apologetic, the significant delays overshadowed the experience. However, the food was well-prepared and flavorful, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation. Overall, Reggae jerk has potential with its good food and nice atmosphere, but the service needs serious improvement. If youre not in a hurry, its worth a visit for the quality of the dishes.

And that was not the issue , time was horrible I ve never waited for almost 1 hr and a half for a drink that never got made and food that was brought out that late. The hype on the food is on point it s delicious! And extremely authentic. My friend and I were having a great time regardless of how long it took because we also wanted to give this place a chance we got the Jamaican patty beef , we wanted the chicken but was told they were going to take some time we were starving after waiting so we got spicy beef ! They do not disappoint wish I would of taken some home. We got a 12 piece wings of honey lemon pepper , which had a taste of orange chicken but with a small hint of lemon really delicious and the crunch was their. The RJH honey BBQ Jerk was to die for holly crap best freaking wings I ve ever had !!! I can t even lie wish i order 6 more of these. We wanted to get a drink this drink forgot the name but it s on a pineapple and it s supposed to be good for two people we never got it , we decided on getting a drink that we can get since it was already and 1 hr & half waiting we got their Rum drink we got a mango one it was delicious definitely a winner I still plan to come back and give it another chance because the food blew us away , but the wait time needs to get better no one should wait so long for food let alone a alcoholic drink.

I have visted this restaurant about 5/6 times in the past 3 months. Each time I have visited rather I ordered ahead or came in person the wait was extremely long, service was scarce or items missing but the food is always amazing (sometimes cold) but the flavor is good. Tonight I placed an order online for pick up. The 30-40min completion window had passed and had not received notification the food was ready but I still proceeded to the restaurant. When I arrived another customer walked in ahead of me and had a complaint that the food they gave him was not his. I sat down at the bar and had to flag someone down after waiting 5mins to have them check for my order. the server advised my food was still not ready yet. 5mins later he comes from the back with a bag. I check the bag and quickly realized this wasnt my order. The server takes the bag back into the kitchen and another 5mins later he grabs the bag thats been sitting on the bar the ENTIRE time that I had been there. THE SAME BAG THE MAN AHEAD OF ME BROUGHT BACK BECAUSE IT WASNT HIS ORDER. I check and its indeed my order. At this point Im annoyed but I look past it because its been over a hour since I ordered, im hungry! I dont know their policy but I do know that even fast food restaurants will not allow food that has left the restaurant to be served to another customer. I get home and begin eating only to find a HAIR in my food. I immediately drive back up there and let them know the situation. The manager MARSHA refused to refund me for my order & only offered to refund the rasta pasta that had hair in it because I only brought the pasta back with me. This food had already been served to another customer so it shoudve NEVER been served to me in the first place. I had my husband bring the other items back because at this point I dont want any of it. Marsha advised that she would only refund the rasta pasta but I would have to wait until tomorrow. extremely unprofessional and unsanitary. the food is good but they need a new system to manage their crowd the wait is always extreme and if they are okay with reserving food that has left the restaurant to customers there is no telling what other unsanitary things they allow in their kitchen. Im disgusted with the way this situation was handled. please proceed with caution dining here. as I type this I still have not received my refund for anything!! Update*** Marsha let s not forget you told me F*** you B**** and threatened to call the police on me. Don t they to come back 5 months later replying to reviews to do damage control. I still will make sure every review outlet is known of my experience with you.

I came across this restaurant while scrolling around on a food delivery service page! I visited Jamaica back in 2016 and have been missing the food ever since! One of my friends and I went to have lunch there. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked if we had reservations. While we didnt have reservations and were seated, I confirmed to see if reservations are highly recommended and they are. Its got a laid back casual atmosphere and a beautiful mural of Bob Marley on the back wall, along with an island style bar & regular seating. My friend and I split the Tour of Jamaica, and it was a perfect portion for two people. The service was good for a busy as it was. Two large parties were there, along with other patrons. Around 1pm or so, they had a deejay start, and it was the perfect touch to the atmosphere! For the food, everything was very flavorful & delicious! The only thing I wished was that there was a little more kick to the food. But all in all, its VERY good. Ill definitely be back!

I hate leaving a bad review because the food here is truly good. But I know I can speak for me and the least 8 other people that walked out tonight. They need to do better when it comes to service. It was fully seated tonight and I understand with a small restaurant handling high volume with little staff is flustering (I work in service industry ) but they had no one at the host stand to let people coming in know that there would be a wait or ask if they wanted to put in to go orders instead of waiting for a seat. Servers blatantly ignored the small crowd of people standing by the door clearly waiting for any kind of communication. A few of us went to the bar to try to order when the server there saw a clear line forming while she was taking someone s order instead of communicating to us that she needed to take care of tables and would be back to help or just communicating at all she walked away. Guests had to go up to servers asking how to get seated / order. I opted to just call in an order but the phone had a busy tone for 40+ minutes, communication goes a long way in this industry especially with black people waiting for a long time plus being ignored is never a good recipe.

It was moist, juicy, and well marinated. The Pikliz was excellent and the salad russe was good as well. I ordered food togo and paid over the phone. Arrived here, signed my check, and waited THIRTY MINUTES before they decided to tell me that they did not have oxtails. They offered something else or a refund. I asked for a refund. Another THIRTY MINUTES have gone by and I m still here waiting on my refund because they said they have a new system . I told them give me my money back in cash. The lady offered to take my information down and do it tomorrow. NO! I paid today I want my refund today. Second to all this, I have been sitting here for a hour. No one has offered a water or anything for the inconvenience. I m sitting here, the restaurant is closing and I still haven t eaten dinner. By the time I leave here all other food places will be close to closing. So much unnecessary time wasted due to lack of communication. I don t know if I ll ever revisit. This has been too much of a headache for me.

The presentation was good, but food was bland, and liquor was water down....Oxtails were just bones with very little meat but loved painting on wall.

The waitress Catherine was awesome. The strawberry lemonade is delicious. The jerk and fried chicken was well seasoned and delicious. OMG, the oxtails!! BABE!! We got the tour of Jamaica $45, more than enough for 2.

Been looking for good Jamaican food since moving here from Toronto (iykyk). Best jerk chicken in dfw, hands down. Oxtail birria tacos were delicious, as was the oxtail mac n cheese. Will definitely be back!

I ve had two extremely disappointing experiences with Reggae Jerk Hut. The first time I ordered from them was on 6/23. I ordered oxtails and an appetizer of spicy beef Jamaican patties, only to receive their chicken rasta pasta instead. When I called the restaurant to complain, they informed me that they were out of oxtails. The appropriate action should ve been to cancel the order and notify me that what I ordered was unavailable; however, they took it upon themselves to just send me anything off the menu. I decided to give this restaurant a second chance, but before placing the order, I called to confirm that the items I wanted were available. The lady I spoke to assured me that the food items were indeed available. My first delivery driver (through DoorDash) sent me messages about how confused the staff appeared. One person offered to switch my spicy beef patty with curry chicken, but I refused this replacement. They informed him that I would be refunded for the appetizer. Ten minutes later, another staff member told the DoorDasher that they were preparing the spicy beef Jamaican patty, which would take an additional 5 minutes. Twenty minutes later, the DoorDasher sent me a message stating that he could wait no longer at this unorganized restaurant. Another DoorDasher was assigned to the order. They waited 10 minutes for the order and left. The third DoorDasher for this same order was able to finally get the food 15 minutes later, only for the food to arrive without the Jamaican patty that they said was the cause of the additional delay. It s incredibly frustrating to choose something on the menu only to be told it s out of stock after you ve already paid for it and waited more than an hour. There is a way to put certain items out of stock via DoorDash to prevent this from happening, but Reggae Jerk Hut does not seem to use it. The combination of poor communication, unavailability of menu items, and unorganized service makes for a terrible dining experience. I would not recommend Reggae Jerk Hut to anyone.

Took 30+ mins waiting on food. The oxtails had more fat than meat. Watered down alcohol drinks.

The food was ok once we finally got it . We waited arrived at 1:55p , server took our order at 2:15 and received our food by 3:00p. We literally watched other customers who came after us get their food before us. When we brought it onto our servers attention , there was no urgency . We had to ask another sever for assistance . We will not be recommending this to our fellow Dallas educators .

The food is good and the staff is friendly. What I dont like is when I make a order for pickup the food portion are very small it is not worth with high prices. Give your patrons more food to justify the price.

I am sorry to those that had a bad experience but I am glad I decided to come and make my own informed decision. I am particular when it comes to my Caribbean food and that Tour of Jamaica is a HIT. My goat, oxtail , jerk chicken, rice and pea and cabbage, all exceeded my expectation. I know people complained about the cost, but for all the food they give, I believe the price is reasonable and I had plenty left over to take to my son for dinner. I can t remember her name, but my waitress was pleasant and attentive as well. I wanted plantain and instead of just bringing me anything, she made sure I knew it was the green plantain so that I could let her know if I still wanted, without surprise. I will definitely be back and bringing others as well. So glad I don t have to travel out of my city for good Caribbean food and I am happy to be supporting a fellow Veteran!!

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place, we came around 7 pm on Sunday and they close at 9 pm. We were seated and waited 30 minutes looking at the menu, being patient, and no one came to our table or helped us. A few of the people workers were just standing and talking this whole time. We just walked out and went somewhere else because we were hungry. They were not busy whatsoever, it was really quiet in there. Just two other tables were seated being helped/eating. Was just strange and really disappointing.

First time here and let me tell you, it was exactly what I wanted and taste just like home! I am Haitian and so I ordered the Tasso plate and I wanted to personally meet the chef, they brought her out and she reminded me of an aunty back home! Her name is Lelen and she cooked up the bestttt Haitian food I have had in DFW besides my mothers of course, it is definitely a must !! Sat at the bar and Jay the bartender was so attentive and his drinks are on point. I had two drinks and was feelinnnn nice after the first . The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere was vibes. Good music, they also have happy hour specials and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. 5 stars!

I ve been to restaurant at least 5x and it doesn t get better, no matter the time I come. Servers/ workers are always sitting in the left corner by the bar or in the kitchen, on their phones or eating. A serious lack of attentiveness to customers and having food out in timely manner. For this restaurant to be VETERAN owned, it is a serious disappointment. Must get better at customer service, bringing food out in timely manner, and overall keeping the professionalism you are supposed to have when working in Food Service Industry. The food is good but it would be better if these problems were fixed.

We walked in and waited to be served, no one ever said they would be right with us or anything. The host at least served us water. We waited for 45 minutes for service as we watched others be served before us that arrived after us. It was clear the servers didn t know who they were supposed to be serving they just served whoever flagged down their attention.
