Been coming here since i was in middle school sometime 15-18 years ago and the atmosphere, the aura or vibe, the feeling you get when you see the heat n steam off the salsa!! You get lost in smell !! You see the joy and feel the warm embrace of whoever is lucky you brought them with you! Everything is good !! They are great!! The experience is unique !! Overall top five all time for me !! Parking: You may have to park at nearby neighboring restaurant or Lyft to and fro from more convenient location.

This is probably one of the dirtiest places I have ever seen. This is a small place, so the cook was preparing a burrito, but they need help cleaning a table so he goes to the dining area grabs a dirty rag and cleans the table. Touches his face, on his way back he greats someone touching the guys back and then proceeds to go grab a tortilla to make a burrito--without washing his hands. They have their kids helping deliver food to the tables but one of them appeared to be sick as they had a bottle of Motrin or Tylenol at the counter. But the worst thing is that there appeared to be a small maggot on the wall. Health department should definitely visit this place.

I ordered the quesabirrias which had the premade red tortilla It was the only thing with flavor , and then my companion ordered the consomé which was as clear as water consomé is supposed to be thick from being reduced on the fire all night, so I didnt consume the quesabirrias but ordered a menudo hopping this will be the one to be good... Stunk very strongly and that happens when tripe is not washed thoroughly, so I ordered me a enchiladas plate enchiladas are dorada red tortilla which same as quesabirrias that was the flavor but it had asadero cheese instead of ranchero mixed with onions or carrots . Worst $75 spent. Service was ok but theyre not organized. I would not go back.

This is a great place to eat. Good food, very flavorful. Very nice bilingual staff. Parking was kind of hard to find due to the construction on the road. We parked down the street. Overall, it is a clean, family-friendly mexican restaurant. Just go to counter and order sit down, and they bring it to you. The homemade chips and salsa were so good!!! With tip $38 for 2 people. The barbacoa was very delicious!!

Today i took her out and ended up upset because 1 I m pregnant and I really hoped for very fresh delicious food and 2nd my grandma was very dissatisfied too she even said it was too greasy. Had the omelette breakfast plate (bacon last weekend, sausage this weekend) and quesabirrias. Food is delicious. Service is pretty quick. More accessible this weekend as major road construction seems to be over. Some minor work still to be done it seems. Parking in the Chestnut garage is super easy for shaded parking and a short walk to the restaurant.

Not what I expected. I called QST and the lady acted like she couldnt hear me then hung up in my face as I kept saying Hello hello... I came on Saturday morning around 9 and got just a breakfast burrito. I waited 20-30 minutes, but it was delicious. Really generous portion for under $8. I came back this morning around 7:15 and it s completely dark inside with the doors locked. The hours on the door say they re open 7-3 Monday through Saturday. Good food, but just not worth the hassle :(

Being from South Texas, I am very critical of Mexican food. I have not found authentic Mexican food until now. The menudo and barbacoa is some of the BEST, if not THE BEST, I have had. I love this place but they have gone way up on prices. I got an order of brria tacos with fajita meat and a side of rice and beans and it was $17.50. I got no drink or chips and salsa I could have understood the price if I had ordered a drink and chips and salsa but I didn t. That s so expensive for what this little place is I was shocked when he told me but I just paid and know not to never order that again. Went there for dinner. They advertise as open on Monday evenings, but they were closed. Follow up: I figured out what happened later. Cookies advertised its hours from 7AM to 3PM, but they must have accidentally put 7 AM to 3AM on one of the days, which is the day I stopped by. Google Maps just showed it to be open. I see, now, that theyve fixed the error. They could could have been more honest in their reply, instead of pretending that theyve always advertised 7-3PM.

This has always been my favorite place to eat. My go too. But today the food was greasy. And was served old cilantro that made my tacos taste very disgusting and like chemicals.. and Im pretty sure he knew something was wrong when he saw me picking at my food... The fajita steak definitely doesnt taste like fajita or steak..... Im extremely disappointed with todays food... It was not even hot it was semi cold... (I ate there) Any other time I would give 1000 plus stars. But I hope this was just one time... id really hate to find another spot..been going here since I was a kid.. Like mentioned in other reviews the parking here sucks and you can easily miss it. Now, this is a true hole in the wall place with amazing food. Went for lunch and we had a variety of different things. I had the birra tacos with some consomme and some El pastor tacos. I absolutely love the birra tacos. They had a little crunch to them from the tortilla and the consomme was amazing. My mouth is salivating thinking about this. Cant wait to go back. Excited to try the rest of their menu.

It s a very small operation. Think about a food truck that moved into a tiny building and now they are serving inside. The food is good, not the best tacos I ve ever had but for the price they are definitely a score(it s like $2.30 a taco if i remember correctly) . True hidden gem here in McKinney. Everything is made fresh when you order. Got the quesadillas for lunch which were delicious, best quesadillas Ive had, and the half order was still a large portion. The breakfast tacos and coffee in the morning hits the spot. Service is also always excellent!

Alright. So I believe myself to be a bit of a breakfast burrito connoisseur, and was dying to try something new with my son. We decided on Cookies, as the reviews were good. And, well, daaaaaaang it was awesome. Huge burrito for $10, was breakfast and lunch, salsas were tasty with a nice heat, and the ranchero sauce....I couldve just had a bowl of that. Great work Cookies, Ill see you soon!!!

Everything was great! The prices were not too expensive and the food arrived quickly. I ordered the tacos with birria and al pastor and they were delicious.
