So Thomas Fine was amazing. I am too far for them to represent me but, still took the time to help me and send me some things to point me in the correct direction and even steps I had to take with my situation. Most lawyers charge even for a 5 minute conversation so, it was nice to see a Lawyers office be genuine and take their time to help. Much appreciated!!

Fired them after a month of ineffective, poorly responsive and negligent counsel. It s been over two weeks and they still have not returned the remaining retainer. However they expect you to maintain minimum trust levels within 3 days. Attorney asked the same questions over and over, after they had been answered and files had been sent, didn t know the max Texas child support rules when asked (simple internet search reveals that and he showed up to our first meeting wearing a hoodie, with his sleeves pulled up with tattoos all over his arm. Then I was encouraged to take a ridiculous deal from opposing counsel with no counsel regarding a counter proposal. Incredibly unprofessional. Their attorneys didn t know max child support, said they didn t respond to emails and stated I could cash out a 401K. My new attorney has done far more to negotiate terms in 1/4 of the time for 1/7 the cost. The Bar will get a complaint soon so make sure to look out for that. Plenty of documentation. My dad was a partner at two of the largest law firms in Texas (who the RAMAGE attorney had never even heard of) and had me hold off on firing them until I was sure. Finally, he advised me to drop them after speaking with his colleagues. Over 7,000 spent and no counter to their offer. My new attorney negotiated an amazing counter offer for $1,600. Of you want to throw away thousands with nothing to show for it, they are your firm. Nothing is guaranteed in law and the wheels of justice can be slow. With these people is was take, take, take while offering little in comparison.

Going up against a school district is probably one of the most terrifying things you will ever go through. But what is even scarier is that these school districts have the ability to dictate our children s lives. Throughout the entire process with Ramage law firm, I cannot express enough how much they have been there for me. The confidence you will gain as a parent, knowing you have professionals in your corner who are going to fight as hard as possible for your baby in way that you can t, is priceless. WE dictate what happens with our children. Not the school system.

I engaged Ramage Law Group thinking they would tailor my case to my situation. Not so! For a straight forward divorce case - avoid Ramage Law Group! Here s why from my experience: 1) The initial consultation is not with a lawyer who will handle your case. It is with a delightful sympathetic assistant, Crystal, because lawyers don t always communicate with clients in an engaging way . Crystal said their average divorces cost $20,000 to $25,000 but I told Crystal Surely this ours is very simple and should cost much less . I should have listened to her. She did a great job selling the group, then the marketing pressure began as soon as I left the consult. Reminder emails and follow up account set up and reminders to sign your contract. 2) Crystal said after I paid the $7500 retainer, there would be a strategy meeting that would take into account that I am over 65, no children, pre-nup with financial s that were already divided per that agreement. I believed that they would take those facts into account in their process. Not so! My assigned lawyer came late to the meeting without her computer that had the relevant spreadsheet and the prenup I provided at the consult. I now know we got so off track from what was needed, it was 2 hours and a $1000+ that could have been done in 30 minutes had the attorney focused on what was really needed and had an understanding before the meeting. I was told the petition would be done in 2-3 days but did not hear anything from anyone I called until late on the 4th day (and was charged). Nervous enough to file, I was made more anxious by their lack of clear communication - blamed me for issues and charged for changing information that was covered in our strategy meeting . 3) I was told initially that my husband could be service with a waiver to avoid costs and court service, then was told that could not be done. The independent lawyer I engaged used the Wavier of Service . 4) I was asked for pages of documents relating to accounts and history before I even spoke to the attorney. I complied but asked the person that called me not to spend time reviewing unless/until it was required. My first 2 week bill was over $4,000 for which I did not receive a bit of legal advice from all their analysis . I was told it was required by their process. The only thing provided was the Petition that had to be redone because it did not contain what was in the strategy meeting plus additional items the lawyer added for discovery (again not needed by my second attorney). 5) I became afraid to call for anything (including billing explanation for why they needed to spend so much time on filing the petition). I asked for them to close my case and refund my retainer and probably saved $15 - 20,000 doing so. I will also sleep better at night with one dedicated attorney that I believe is looking after my needs, not put into a pool of attorneys and staff motivated by billing hours. Crystal gets the 2 stars - she did her job.

Do not hire the Ramage Law Firm to assist you with any legal issues, especially with any special education needs. All they do is take advantage of vulnerable clients. They are very unethical. I retained Ramage Law Firm to assist me with my case. They wouldn t let me speak to an attorney or have a consultation until after I signed the contract and paid the retainer fee of $3500.00. I was told by their sale representative, Crystal their do not provide consultation. They demanded that I sign the contract and pay the retainer fee. After paying the and signing the contract and paying the retainer fee, they never did anything with my case other than asking for monthly payment of $800.00 . They missed deadlines, never filed anything, vague billing for service that was never provided. It seems like probably working with the school district to take advantage of their clients. They are very dishonest and unprofessional lawyers. They falsely advertised themselves as the only certified lawyers in Special Education in Texas, which is false and misleading.

If I could give 0 stars I would! After saving and saving to afford it, I hired what I thought was the bulldog attorney s, to help me get a horrible wrong, righted with the custody of my kids! In the nine months and over $20,000 I paid for their services, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was accomplished. The only tangible thing they did was file my petition to the court. And even worse, knowing the nature of my case and my concerns for me and my kids, they led me in a terrible direction with an amicus attorney vs. an ad litem for my children (be sure to ask the difference if you are in a custody battle!) Thankfully, a kind soul stepped in and, for the little money I had left after being bled dry by The Ramage Group, took on my case. Within TWO MONTHS of this change, my kids were where they wanted and needed to be! And on Friday, 6/26/24, this horrible chapter of my life was closed! The wrong has been righted!!! If you are fighting a school district or for special education rights for your child, Sharon Ramage IS the bulldog you are looking for. And, perhaps she is a super star in an initial divorce/custody situation. However, I cannot emphasize how horrible they were in my custody modification case! And, unfortunately, there is no legal recourse for getting money back (and certainly not time lost) for hiring a law firm that nickel and dimes and charges exorbitant fees to make (useless) phone calls and push (unnecessary) paperwork. And, despite our disagreement over kids, I never want to cause my ex to suffer financially. This whole thing also cost him a lot more money in attorney fees because of the wasteful interactions with Ramage attorneys that resulted in zero progress or resolution! For those reading a review for these types of services, my heart goes out to you and wish you well in your journey to resolution.

Update: Their director of marketing and business development contacted me and she is a wonderful listener. I still did not get representation but she did send me a referral so well see what happens. This was last week and Im still getting phone tag from the lawyer she suggested. Ive updated the rating to a two because of her efforts. My experience with this group is as follows: 1. They talk over you and do not listen. I could hardly get a word in as they rattled off their gibberish. 2. The first quote for a retainer fee was $10,000 and I was offered a $250 consultation fee. After some thought, I requested a consultation and I was told they could not help me unless I paid a $7500 retainer fee (notice the change?). 3. After reminding them that I was previously offered a consultation, I was told it would cost $195 (notice the next change in cost?). 4. I received a call from the owner stating shes the only one who handles appeals (even though Mr. Fine, the lawyer I spoke with previously, told me he could help me - for the $7500 retainer fee) and she doesnt have time. This firm sounds crooked even as they deal with people who obviously need help. Id be careful when hiring them. Interview many attorneys and find one that listens!

I spent over 10k (and almost the entire trust after they were fired) and am not even at mediation, was interrogated by the petitioners counsel with mind numbing and irrelevant questions that this firm did nothing to blunt except to harp at me for talking to long to answer them (if you miss a call they re rude and will call multiple times in a row), zero pushback against Opposing counsel, zero strategy outside of Sharon during the interview to hire which was never mentioned again, rude and often the only time you hear from them is to get a bill diced into convenient 15 min charges. If you re male and reading this as a respondent WALK AWAY and go pro se, what these people do is incredibly easy. What a mistake

My friends had referred me to The Ramage Law Group because of their positive experience with them. I set up a consult and paid the consult fee in advance as they requested. However, due to the urgency of our situation, we retained counsel prior to the consult. I assumed the consult fee was non-refundable (and it may be according to the terms), but Thomas Fine was gracious enough to understand our situation and refund my consult. The best to ever work with! I worked with Mary Barefield. She got my SAPCR case completed and closed in under 7 months. She did in 7 months what other couldn t do in a year. I ve spilled money with other attorneys before hiring her. She paid attention to every detail I gave her. She is genuine, she is organized, she communicates rapidly. She Always has her little laptop with her every where she goes. They don t make attorney s like Mary Barefield anymore. She is a needle in a haystack. Horrible experience. Mediation cost me $11,000.00. Worked with Gwen Williams and Sanette. Major concerns on overbilling and they were never addressed. If you have concerns on child safety, I wouldnt recommend this place. They did absolutely nothing on my concerns and will double charge you on invoices and tell you to get in touch with Tyler in billing, who has no idea on anything with cases just solely the billing portion. They will ask you to send in evidence documents that will not even be used in my experience, but you will get charged for them viewing. Also would be double charged for same information provided to Lawyer Gwen and then repeated to Paralegal Sanette. Definitely lack of communication and not corresponding information already provided. Just cared about next invoice being payed to continue case. Total rip off, never seen a day in court either. Solely mediation. Never even met in person.

I got Metlife benefits from my employer. They listed Ramage law group on their website, and I needed help with Will and Trust. First time I contacted Ramage law firm it was in October of last year. From 5 months they are still working on it. Their attorney is viewing the details I provided from months now, there is no communication from their end. Whenever I email, they say sorry for the delay. After being referred to them by several firms I waited almost 4 weeks to be told the lawyer is reviewing the case. They stated that I needed to do things with the district I had already done and submitted to them to support the case. The person who reviews cases had not viewed anything as they knew nothing of what was sent in to them. It was apparent in the conversation with the office. Waste of time over 25 days waiting for an answer of we dont handle these types of cases. Then said the lawyer is still reviewing the case. If it is not what you do why have 3 people looked at it and sent it to the lawyer for review? For someone with great reviews and reputation this was unprofessional and very disappointing. ***In response to the comment below. IF YOU NEED A WILL, MEDICAL POA, LIVING WILL,or Guardianship, their one attorney that handles this is too busy. Just an FYI very poor way they handled our situation. We got their name from referral from Hyatt legal services which my wife has through work. We emailed them and had no response for 2 weeks. We then called and of course they had no record of the email which was done through their website . Upon getting our info they sent us forms to complete about what we needed. I filled them out and a couple days later they called to set up an appointment. They requested case numbers from Hyatt and I sent them in for all we needed. Later that day I received an email (not a phone call) that they cancelled the appt because their lawyer was too busy to handle our guardianship. So i asked, what about getting our will done as well as medical POAs done. She said she was unaware that we needed that and would have to get back to me. Now I sent case numbers over for all that we needed so not sure how they were unaware. But any way, keep in mind that a law firm with multiple lawyers couldn t do any of the services for us. And their ONE lawyer in the firm that handles wills, medical POAs, living wills, and guardianship is too busy. Not sure if it was because we had used the Hyatt legal service that we pay for but wouldn t be surprised. Because if you look at their website, they emphasize guardianship, etc for special needs.

I went in not knowing what the heck I was going to do, just that I needed a divorce and wanted to protect myself and my children s futures. Since my husband and I only had one major asset and agreed to co-parent well for the children, he figured we could do this all on our own, however I was skeptical. I lost so much money with this Firm. They mislead me stateting my case would take no longer than 3 months. Nine months into the case I could no longer afford them and they dropped my case.
