I had a great experience at this on the border location. It is located inside the lobby of the Embassy Suites Hotel; The atmosphere was more relaxing than a typical bar. The Bar tender, Andrea, was very polite, professional, and efficient and I hope you get to have the opportunity to let her serve you. The strangers that also came to the bar after me seem to be regulars and they were very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this location to any one staying nearby.

Staying at the Hotel that this location is inside of. Ordered from their menu to have food delivered to our hotel room. Was told 15 minutes. After 1 hour of waiting, I called the restaurant only to find out that our order was never prepared. They took the order, repeated it and promised 15 minutes. Now I m finding out they never prepared the order. They offered no apology and generally acted like they didn t care. My order was placed outside of peak dining hours.

Came in here walking around the area hearing the music. Atmosphere was nice with live music but it is a much older crowd so nothing crazy just people dancing. Food was ok mixed drinks not so good we actually tossed two drinks that werent good at all. Had indoor bar and indoor/outdoor seating live music is outside.

Weve always liked coming here for the food and atmosphere, but the last three times weve been there the service has been going downhill. Our last time here, we were waiting in line for a table, the server pulled 2 people from behind us in line and sat them instead. When we were finally seated, we sat there for 20 minutes with not 1 person coming to our table to take our order or even acknowledging us, even though several made eye contact with us, but wouldnt stop when wed ask if we could get service. We unfortunately will not be back to the McAllen location.

Unless youre wanting to go dancing and party, do not go to this restaurant on Friday or Saturday. I was staying in the embassy suites for a couple of days and I had the displeasure of eating at this establishment. At first I tried to sit at the bar but by the looks of it (because it was a Friday) the venue had shifted into a nightclub setting. The bartenders were getting trampled by all the guests and as a result I had slow service. Afterwards I tried sitting at the restaurant to order food. It took forever to get greeted by a server. I ordered the birria at the suggestion of the server and it was horrible. The quesadillas were dripping in grease before I even was able to dunk them in the consumé. The taste of everything was arguably the worst interpretation of tex mex Ive ever tried. The server did not check in to make sure the food was good until it began getting cold. At this point Im exhausted and not having a good time so I asked for a box and leave. On the bright side, the chips and salsa wasnt bad. The rice and beans were okay as well.

An update: we have been to this restaurant a few times. A great improvement! The food was better and especially the representation of the food. Our server was fantastic and very attentive of our table. She made sure the kid meal came out with our appetizer and drinks were delivered a little bit before. I included the chicken tortilla soup and the stuffed jalapeño to see the improvement. This restaurant is in Embassy Suites, nicely located. The service was okay, not sure if they were short of people or not. The food was good, from the lunch menu. The chicken tortilla soup could have used some chicken in it. The happy hour margaritas were great!

Wife and i like to stay at the Embassy Suites when we are in Mcallen and enjoy the band that plays on Friday nights. A group of us wanted to get something to eat and this was close to our hotel. There was 9 of us going, it took a little to get seated. Once we did we got our drink orders in, 8 waters and 3 alcohol beverages. It took a while to get waters, it didn t make sense. Once we got our drinks we placed our orders. The food was good but things came out one at a time. So timing was weird for it meaning we stayed longer than needed to finish. A couple items were missed, dressing for salads, lemons, refills. It just seemed like they weren t prepared to take on a party size like that. It was 7:30ish in the evening so nothing too late when we arrived. With that being said the food was good and the drinks were great. Just a disappointment with the service. I would order to go next time.

Hubby and I came here for a late lunch. He told me that it s TexMex food. I ordered the Carne Asada and iced tea, while he ordered Chimichangas and white russian (drink). We were seated in a booth near a family with bery young kids, one of which was just having a bad day and just loudly cried. Hubby and I requested for a quieter spot coz we just want to enjoy our Saturday, which was on a great start. When the food came, oh man! The food was so yummy. The carne asada was well seasoned and marinated, so it wa filled with flavor. It was served with mexican rice and some sautéed onions and bell peppers. Hubby enjoyed his chimichangas. He gave me a piece, and it was crunchy and filled with flavor. Personally, I like TexMex food a lot. Some may not like it. But this is a must place to try. If you re going, just a heads up, this place is a bit pricey. My Carne Asada was around $19 and I think it s the same for the chimichangas. Although the food is very good and the serving is good for 1 person, I think it s still pricey. Maybe because of inflation or maybe because it is situation inside the Hilton Hotel near the Mcallen Convention center. It is a very nice restaurant in a very good location. Parking: Lots of parking at the location and it s safe parking Kid-friendliness: They have booth seating which the kids enjoy. Wheelchair accessibility: It is most flat and you can wheel in your wheelchair easily

The tacos are delicious, they use the tortillas cut in half to make the chips which were too thick and overcooked. We had a hostess waiting on us who, totally forgot our drinks and forgot half our order and she didnt write anything down. The flautas were so overcooked that when we bit into them they disintegrated into pieces, and there was like charcoal in the center instead of chicken tinga. We ordered the happy hour margaritas and we ended up getting the $4 Margaritas without our knowledge, even when I questioned it and said these look too big to be the $3 margaritas, and then our bill came and it was $4. This place is fantastic and the food could be magnificent if everybody was paying attention to what they are doing, and if there was more training on the floor.. I hope they keep this happy hr going its still worth it! I drive 45 minutes to get there and I will still do that. I tipped 20% anyway just because it looks so slow I wasnt sure they didnt even make any money that day, and having been in the business all my life I felt sorry for them.

I just left. Armando was our waiter outside where the live band was playing. The live band was wonderful and playa mix of cumbia, salsa and bachata for us dancers. I came with my baby and there are tables towards the back that arent too loud. Other people also bring their kids, super chill outdoor atmosphere. Our server Ritz was wow she was so nice so professional so outgoing her energy was beyond amazing!!! She really made our time pleasant smooth and she was extremely helpful! Really really recommend her and this place!

Looking for authentic Mexican food? keep looking. Looking for Tex Mex bland generic food served fast? Look no more. Great menu choices. I gave it a 3 star because I was torn. The food was good. The ambiance was nice. We didn t have to wait long to get served. The beans tasted as if they were mashed canned beans.

It took 30 minutes to get someone on the phone to place an order. Once I received my order, they charged me for a large for an item but received a small. Then it took another 15 minutes to get someone on the phone to let them know they over charged me. They left off a lot of side condiments that should have been with the order. The food tasted ok. The brisket quesadilla was really good. The chicken flautas were not great.

It was first time here and it did not take us long to get seated. Our waiter was attentive, we got chips and salsa right away. I ordered the border sampler and the other plate is the pick 2 and comes with rice and beans. Everything was warm and delicious. Drinks were great. I would definitely come back again!

That the manager pays a little more attention to the treatment that the waitresses give since just to earn a good review on Facebook and their $20 they want to flirt more with the customers. I had a bad experience with the waitress Jasmine, which was a bit uncomfortable for me, her treatment and flirtation with my husband and her not caring that I was there. My husband and I noticed that she was only addressing him and not me . which is a lack of respect. Unfortunately, my husband and I would not go to this restaurant again because we did not enjoy the food and it was a bad experience.

Me and my wife admire the this restaurant. The waitress and waiters are super attentive and friendly .. The food quality and quantity is spectacular delicious Edgar Torres , was very nice .. Very clean and the whole visit was great
