Where to begin .from the moment we walked in to the time we left we were embarrassed with excellent service. Amazing friendly staff especially Michelle who provided the best service ever. Food was savory authentic Mexican food. The Poblano Crème soup was amazing and the ribeye steak was cooked to perfection!!! Highly recommend you stopping by asap!!!

We always enjoy visiting this location, great atmosphere. Food is awesome everything we have tried is perfect from the drinks to the desserts and plates are always serve with enough food. I am a frequent customer of Palenque Grill, I like this place for the food. My husband and I went as a family because I hadnt seen my daughter and my grandchildren for a long time. Without a doubt, excellent service, we had never been treated in such a special way, today my daughter was delighted more by the service than by the food, which is also excellent, the waiter Brayan and the waiter Adolfo were most attentive. And the kindest thing was that we never lacked anything at our table. Food was great, waiter was present at all times but what really sucked was that I went there to eat their grilled chicken with my daughter and for some dumb reason either the manager or owner had removed it from their menu. I was really looking forward to a much greater meal. The Palenque grill in Corpus Christi has the chicken and it s something I ll order again. I love beef but every once in a while I ll eat a bird. Tables need to be a bit further apart also. You need to go to the one in Corpus Christi and see for yourselfs.

Overall, this was a good place. I ordered the ground beef tacos @15.99. Least expensive taco plate on the menu. I could definitely taste the difference between other taco restaurants. Great flavor! The atmosphere felt upscale and my waiter was great. My question that I m asking myself is .is it worth $4 taco? I m struggling as I ve had better tacos at $2 taco. There are several other dishes that may excellent but the most expensive taco plate was $32. I m just questioning value. So I have nothing bad to say, yes, it was good. But would I come here again? Maybe just a lil pricey for tacos.

We always order the ceviche and its always perfectly cooked and delicious. All fresh ingredients for the food as well as the drinks, I had a tamarindo lemonade. Fernando took care of us and was attentive and professional. Will definitely be back with my babies. 100% recommend Kid-friendliness: My kids love it here. They get the fideo with chicken, the shrimp albóndigas soup and sometimes even the chile relleno. Their lemonade is a fav of ours and sometimes there s an older man who sells light up balloons.

Delicious food and more than excellent service. From the moment we arrived, the lady who greeted us was very friendly and once at our table, the waiter assigned to us was very dedicated and courteous. We went as a family for my sons graduation and he solved the problem of not knowing what to order, he recommended some of the best barbecues and for me a pina colada that was exquisite is an understatement. The food was great as usual but the waiter we got was rude. Even before paying he was taking plates without asking and just generally having a bad attitude. At the end of the night he seemed to have messed up our tab and was trying to get us to pay extra. Unsure if all he was doing was trying to pocket the only tab that was paid in cash or if they really had made a mistake that he refused to admit to. Made a whole big scene even though everyone at the table had paid their tabs. PLEASE PAY IN CARD AND ASK FOR YOUR PAY RECIEPT OR THEY WILL TRY TO ACCUSE YOU OF DINE AND DASHING!!! When in McAllen, this is a must, with a couple of need to know disclaimers! First of all, get ready for some of the BEST Mexican food youll ever have. The chips, salsa, and refried beans with chorizo are pretty good, and you could practically get full on this alone! I had the tacos de carne asada and O-M-G i couldnt stop eating the meat. It was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. A bonus for me was that there was relatively no fat or tendons on this meat. It is so hard to find these traits even in the best of restaurants. The downside to this dish is that it literally only comes with the tortilla, the meat, grilled onions, and 1 grilled jalapeño. I was like, wheres the cilantro, the avocado or guac, and all the other toppings, so you have to order these things separately. I had fresh lime-cucumber water, and i could drink that all day every day!!! Anyway, the service was so-so and the environment is nice enough. Id go back for the carne asada and the drink i had Id i were ever in the area again!! Just be prepared to drop some cash on your meal. Yes, you can get the same food at a street taco place, but you can tell this place uses nothing but premium ingredients.

Our server was friendly, very efficient, kept our drinks filled, checked on our table several times after we were served. The food was unanimously very good, well prepared, fast service. Attractive venue, we were seated at a table for 6 and had plenty of room. My order of chicken fajitas was very good, the chicken was tender, just lacked flavoring. Dont mind paying any amount if you get what your paying for. Menu says guac for 3-4 people but its truly for 2 i wouldnt complain if the menu stated it was for 2. What further disapointed us is that i was charged for a salsa borracha i ordered when we were not charged for this before. So the plan was to hit up McAllen and try lunch somewhere weve never been before. This place has been on the to-do list for some time. Weve heard good things and thought we would give it a try. First impression was the greeting by the host. Excellent service, very genuine and welcoming. Were assigned to a table, server is there within seconds taking a drink order and dropping off chips, salsa and chorizo beans (which were absolutely delicious). We needed a bit cause weve never been. Finally decided to place our order and bamm, its out within minutes. Its fresh, its hot, it has great presentation and smells fantastic. I ordered the Mar y Tierra. Fajitas, shrimp, white rice, charros and guac. Charros were substituted for smashed beans. Again, it looked great but it wasnt excellent. Fajitas were whole, I had to slice them. Usually thats not a big deal but the skillet didnt allow for very much room and they were really tough. They tasted ok but a stretchy fajita isnt a good fajita. The grilled shrimp had spices on it but it had no flavor. Rice was good, beans were great, grilled onions and guac were good too. Ive had worse but the expectations were not met. Wife had a tampiqueña. Fajitas, Mexican rice, beans , guac , a green chicken enchilada and a flour quesadilla. Actually the quesadilla was a choriqueso quesadilla. She had a similar issue with the fajitas, the quesadilla was also surprisingly chewy and the enchilada was ok. Again, weve had worse. What really made the lunch great was the service. Our server really made sure we were comfortable and that our meals werent missing anything. Atmosphere noise level was lower than average. Definitely my speed. I was able to have a great conversation with the wife. Im not sure if I would come back because it was very very expensive in comparison to the quality of food. We knew it would be pricey and didnt mind it if the food was off the charts, but it didnt come close, in my opinion. Again kinda mixed feelings about this place cause the service was excellent and atmosphere was pretty good

Wonderful atmosphere! Delicious food! Great service! Ps - Be aware of the Mariachi band as they offer to play a song for ya, then charge $40 per song! I was prepared to tip them $20 for their time, but then lead musician said it was $40 per song. Now we know, Ill definitely be back. Food

Thats speaking from my experience. I found the service quite good because they have enough waiters and they also make an effort to give you the best attention. As for the food, its pretty good, maybe a little run down. The establishment has enough tables and private spaces so you dont have to worry about not finding a place. It has ample parking as it is part of the Plaza Mall complex. Its prices are a little above average, but with the good atmosphere there, this justifies it.

Our recent experience was bad, our server was mediocre and arrogant telling us that the arrachera is meant to be tough because we ordered it medium, clearly the server knows nothing of meats and has no respect for the restaurant for telling us what they serve is bad. The rest of my review is from a past visit. ------------------------ Our server was very kind and attentive, you could see genuine care for his customers. The Mar y Tierra Prime Steak was delicious, everything was cooked perfectly, the steak was juicy, the guacamole flavorful, the Laredo shrimp was very delicious basically everything. The arrachera & fajitas de res were were delicious. The charro beans and rice were both okay, I was more impressed by their refried beans and chips and their tasty Salsas. I wouldnt recommend the tacos gobernador (shrimp tacos), they werent any good poorly prepared. The Pasta Cuchi Cuchi was delicious, the sauce was very flavorful. I would definitely recommend the Prime steak but I will try the Fajitas de Res in the near future as I feel that cut of meat will be more delicious.
