This place has the best food! The waiter was quick, friendly, and attentive even though there was a huge party dining while we were there, the service was still so fast and the food quality was amazing. We had the kimchi jjigae, tteokbokki, and maeun samgyupsal and all of them were incredible. My favorite sidedish was the stir fried green chili peppers and my friend loved the fish cake the most. Of course the kimchi was excellent too. You can really tell they are working so hard to make excellent food. I can t wait to go back and try the other items on the menu.

Food was delicious! Everyone was very polite! Especially one of the owners (I believe)!! She was so kind! She offered my daughter a different dish (dumplings) when the one we had ordered was too spicy for her! We have never experienced such kindness and comprehension at a restaurant! My daughter loved the dumplings! (We all did because she shared ) we will have to definitely go back!! We had kimchi, bulgogi, and pork (can t remember the name of the dish). All very delicious and tasty! Parking: Parking is very accessible. Kid-friendliness: Very comprehensive with our daughter!

The kindness that was given to me was amazing! I am Korean and had to move to the Valley with my daughter. It has been a very hard adjustment because of the culture difference here vs Killeen. It was by chance that I saw this restaurant on the way to the airport to pick up my granddaughter. I can say, I have tried the limited Korean restaurants here. This restaurant with the owner and her sister along with the staff were very attentive. The food was amazing! Authentic flavors! I definitely have found my new home with Korean food. If I could fill the whole review with stars, I would. This is a must try!!!!!

I highly recommend trying out this restaurant. It is so authentic and delicious. I love the ramen (non-spicy) and the pork or chicken katzu (great options if you re more on the cautious side. The beef ribs is very good. And the bulgogi is a must. The service is very slow and they are very short-staffed. Expect to be patient.

I had the dumplings and Dolsot Bibimbap. Dumplings were a little larger than Im used to, but they were hot and delicious. Well worth the money. The Bibimbap was hot with fresh veggies. Adding the chili sauce is a must. They had a variety of sides for different palates (9 from the picture). Loved the peanuts. Try it out of you want a change from the usual. Be bold and explore something different. Ill be back with my fiance next time.

Delish! I moved here from Seattle almost 2 years ago now, and have been homesick for some authentic Korean food ever since. This hit the spot so good. It s the perfect balance of spicy and umami that other places have been lacking. The Galbi short ribs, japchae, kimchi jjigae, and pork belly were superb- and the banchan did not disappoint either. Service was a delight and the family is very sweet. I will definitely be back and will be recommending Wa Gabose to everyone.

Came to eat here with my family. It was a great experience. The restaurant was clean and quiet. The staff was nice and attentive enough without being too disruptive or intrusive. The food was delicious. My brother loved their tonkatsu. Their dumplings and dolsot bibimbap was also great. The serving portions are also a pretty decent size. The food came out fresh and hot and not at all greasy so it felt a little bit more on the healthier side. I hope it gets more business as it would be a shame for a place like this to close.

Its probably the best korean restaurant I have been to in the valley. Service, atmosphere, and food were 10-10.No question about it. We got a soup (#10), beef ribs, bulgogi, kimchi pancakes, and dumplings. Everything was so good and fresh! All the sides were also so good. Our server and the chef herself came out to greet us. Very sweet ajumma. Definitely will be coming more often.

Very pleased that we found this gem. Born in Korea, live in Seattle, work in LA and have been to many Korean restaurants around the country and I can honestly say this is now one of my favorite Korean restaurant. The food and side dishes are all home made, reminded me of my moms cooking. The only drawback for me is that it is in McAllen and not in Seattle. I read some of the low reviews complaining about the Ramen and can say it is Korean style Ramen and not Japanese style. If you dont know the difference I wouldnt say anything, it shows ones ignorance. To sum up, real traditional home made Korean food...delicious. David Ko

I really really loved this place the first time I tried it! I got the bibimbap and the dumplings, both were great. The second time I went however, I got the special, which was an ox bone soup. Amazing Korean BBQ spot! I seriously didn t think the Valley can come up with a decent Korean spot. The inside is clean, spacious, and not too busy when I came at 12pm noon. She even brought me a plate of Japchae (Korean Glass noodles), which isn t normally on the menu, but I asked and she had it made up for me! Talk about awesome service! The food: Excellent. Delicious. Huge portions. The sides were also varied (typical of what you would see at any Korean Spot). They were all good. Food came out in a timely manner. Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you have the cravings or just want some good ole Korean Food!

This place is my go-to for great Korean food and excellent service! I ve been here several times now and I highly recommend it. The seafood pancake is a must have. The chicken teriyaki is well seasoned and so tender. Their bulgogi is legit and so well made. The bimbimbap is great in the hot pot or without and the noodles in bean sauce are a must try (it s a huge portion so definitely shareable). The appetizers are traditional with a few extra new items every time we come, and their kimchi can t be beat! If you re looking to try Korean food, this place is a must try. The service is always great even when they get busy. The owner always comes by each table to ask about the food and to see if you need a refill on the appetizers. So do yourself a favor and come give them a try. You won t be disappointed.

My daughter recommended this new Korean restaurant and it didn t disappoint us. A smiling friendly guy greeted us. Place is clean with simple decor. We ordered jappong ( hot spicy soup with seafood) , galbee ( sizzling beef ribs), dolsot ( stone pot rice with meat and veggies) and Korean dumplings- all super delicious, authentic. The side dishes are good. Kimchi seems homemade. A must try!

Why isnt this place packed for lunch??? The food was amazingly delicious!!! Wow, talk about different types of food to eat! I DONT recommend. We ordered 3 dish: Ramen is not great quality neither flavor , and so much spicy . I prefer Yasuke Restaurant. The Dish whit Beef stew is worst , the meat was not easy to eat, the soup don t have the beef flavor just water taste, I think my caldo de res it s better. The only good was the entry appetizers. New Korean restaurant in town so you know definitely need to try it out. Very clean and simple layout and decor. Service was pretty fast even with what appears to be only one waitress and the owner(s) dropping off the the food and bussing. Was pleasantly surprised seeing Galbi-tang on the menu since I don t believe any of the k restaurants serve it. Our order: Galbi-tang: very light yet aromatic broth with the short ribs super tender. With a nice touch with tapioca noodles in there as well. However I felt the broth was a bit underseason and the short ribs were more of chunks off a beef cut like brisket or a roast, not the usual bone on short rib that I m use too or seen from the restaurant I ve had elsewhere. Dolsat bibimbap: very well presented and tasty. Only thing off that rice was not crisped up on the bottom. That s the key part of bibimbap Salted mackerel: big pc of fillet simple and comforting. Galbi Ribs-although pricey but definitely the best tasting and most tender ShortRibs I ve had in the valley. Side dishes were very tasty as well Definitely coming back and hope to see quality and service stays the same.
