I was really let down. It took almost an hour to get an appetizer and then over an hour to get our food. I had to ask multiple times for a beer and each time it would take 30-45 minutes for the waitress to get back to us. After all of that, it took another 30 minutes to get our check. The food was good but not worth being at this place for three hours. The live music was nice and the beer tasted good when I got it but, everything else was disappointing.

One of my favorite places to grab a beer and food. Authentic German cuisine. Pretzels and Doner Kebab are my favorites here, but everything sounds delicious. Staff is extremely friendly, and attentive. Anya (i believe was her name) was wonderful!

The owner is rude as hell! He has no customer service skills! We waited 1hr and a half for our food and the restaurant was completely empty my family were the only ones in the restaurant! His excuse was they make everything fresh! But it doesn t take that long to make a plain smash burger and some tacos! I m sure all the reviews on here are people he knows.. I will never go back! I m sorry plain and dry burgers was an extra special request..

The service was outstanding! We went for my sister s birthday and the server went out of her way to make the night special, make sure that her toddler was having a good time by providing many toys, and had the entire restaurant wish her happy birthday, with her singing it to her in German. The food was so amazing, and took us back to our trips to Germany and Switzerland. This was honestly one of the best restaurant experiences we had ever! I highly recommend visiting and trying out their Schnitzels. :D Kid-friendliness: The server setup an entire little play area once she saw that we had a toddler. She was very playful and kept checking in on him, making sure he had bug spray, and even giving one of her own rubber bands for his hair when it was hot outside. The workers here go out of their way to make sure that everyone, including the kids, are all happy and having an amazing time!

Wonderful experience here at Schneiders! I arrived with a group of 40+ people from the RV park. Service took a while for 40 people, as expected. However, each bite of food was worth the wait. Everything was made fresh, from scratch. Staff was attentive and personable and cared about our needs. The owner addressed the group at the end of the meal and thanked us for supporting them. Its a cute little place and the swibelschnitzel was awesome. Drinks were large, sides plentiful, and ambiance lively. Very glad to have experienced Schneiders!

It was my first time here, and I absolutely loved it. They are very family friendly. They have the most delicious pretzels Ive ever had. We got burgers, and of course, chicken nuggets for the kiddos. Everything tasted home made and oh, so yummy. I wish I would have taken pictures of the food, but we devoured it as soon as it got to us, lol. The restaurant owner was super sweet and kind to my babies, she even brought them toys to play with while we ate. Seriously 10/10 will recommend, and will be back soon.

Earlier someone gave it a low er rating due to the slow service. For one it is not a fast food place, its a place to chill and talk. Second the dishes are so worth the wait. Everything we ordered was superb; the German tacos, The Sandwich, The Burger. They might sound like your ordinary but they indeed are unique. Staff was kind and attentive, atmosphere was nice. 5 stars.

Its not often I give a restaurant across-the-board a 5 star review, but Schneiders earned it with ease. The German-style food was freshly made, with essentially everything made from scratch. I told our server their cuisine was the best Ive had outside of Germany, and Ive been there a lot. They also have a wide selection of beers, including several German beers on tap. The beer garden was a pleasant setting on a nice night. Im attaching a photo of my plate - beautiful jaegerschnitzel - before I dug in. This is truly a gem!

Food- Best German food outside of Munich. Pretzels are a must have! Cant go wrong with any of their schnitzel options and the burger hits the spot! A great selection of German beers as well. Service- When you have staff like Anja and Mike behind the bar, great service is never in doubt! The owner, Bobby, makes sure you feel at home when hes in too. Atmosphere- Although McAllen is a large city, it lacks spaces similar to Schneiders with an outdoor Beer Garden vibe. With live music on most nights and karaoke, youre bound to have a great time.

Our first trip to Schneiders was disappointing. Very slow service. Took several minutes to be greeted. When our waiter showed up, she was chewing a pretzel and almost spit it out when she was talking to us. Nice way to begin a dinner. The pretzel appetizer and jagerschnitzel were delicious. The sides of french fries and fried potatoes came out somewhere between luke warm to cold. I think our waiter took awhile to get our entrees from the kitchen to our table. The food sat in the kitchen window for a long time and I do not think there were heat lamps to keep the food warm. After waiting several minutes, I had to run down the waiter for a to go box and the bill. Sorry guys...just being honest.

We were a group of 4 and attended the October fest event, the idea of the event was nice, but to our surprise it was more American than German, the DJ killed the vibe of the event, we had a few beers which tasted kind of old, and had some food that was great. We left because of the music, at a moment we felt we were at a childs piñata.

Delicious food and great drinks. This location is a fun spot to try cuisine you are not used to .it s German food! The one thing that I would LOVE to see is one or two chicken/beef options. I don t eat pork so there wasn t many entrees I could try off the menu. A chicken schnitzel would go hard! The burger is great and everyone that was eating the sausage or pork loin schnitzel couldn t stop talking about it. Awesome sauerkraut and red cabbage. Pretzels are great. Ask for the hot mustard for pretzels and curry ketchup for fries The waitresses are friendly, the cook is friendly and even the owner Bobby floats around to check on everyone. Highly suggest checking out the food and drinks. Welcoming to a big group! Cheers

One of my favorite spots to go while visiting McAllen. Really enjoy the selection of beer and pair great with their pretzel s . Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly vibes. Brought two of our kids to Schneider s .we hadn t been here since pre-Covid. The food was great! The service was beyond good Anja, our server, was friendly and provided wonderful service. It s a really nice place to hang out and eat German food! I recommend to try German pretzels and schnitzel with mushrooms. As far as side dishes you should definitely try sauerkraut but fried potatoes were a bit too salty. It s just my personal preference. I guess they re fine with beer. Service was great and friendly. The place has outdoor and indoor sitting.

You know how you always drive by this place on your way to/from work? You always say to yourself I should check that place out sometime but you still haven t. Do yourself a favor and stop putting it off & stop by. It is soooooo good! The food is absolutely fantastic! The pretzels put Auntie Anne s to shame and as I am slowly making my way through the menu I can say that bratwurst, jagerschnitzel, fries, sauerkraut & mashed potatoes are FANTASTIC! They have a great selection of German beers that are cold and refreshing & the atmosphere is great. My only complaint is I m pretty sure my Fiancé might leave me for their schnitzel but if he did, I would totally understand.

I highly recommend checking this place out, even though its tucked away. Its a bit of a hidden gem. There is indoor and outdoor seating along with a separate area that has more of a sports bar feel. The outdoor seating includes a covered patio and a side area next to the building that is shaded. They also have a variety of table games for customers to use. The vibe is laid back and relaxed a family-friendly atmosphere. EXCELLENT customer service! Our waitress was exceptional and friendly. The pretzels were baked to perfection; crisp, salty, and soft on the inside. Absolutely delicious! Their Nutella pretzel was tasty too. I ordered the Doner Kebab. It was comprised of beautifully spiced, succulent, and juicy pork loin meat and crunchy salad surrounded by warm, pita bread smothered with house-made tzatziki sauce. It made for an irresistible blend of both taste and texture. Mmmmm, so delectable. The the red cabbage was on point. We ordered the Zwiebelschnitzel, and it was prepared in a lusciously aromatic onion sauce. So-oo savory. I highly recommend Schneider s Restaurant!

Most awesome experience. Great food and friendly waitress. Came to celebrate our birthdays. Everyone was very friendly. My pork hock wouldve fed 4 easy. Needless to say I had A huge take home container. Husband had the brat. He said it was very good. They even sang Happy Birthday to us in German. We would highly recommend to try them out.
