While we my family and I have been out and about in Texas, as the Otakus we are, we stumbled upon an advertisement for Anime Fiesta at the McAllen Convention Center. We could tell that the opportunity would be worth the wait (we discovered the online/digital flier on August 27), and we were instantly stoked. After my mother purchased the tickets, I, being the youngest and one of the most into-anime people in my house, began zooming through videos of the location and the contents of the events. I could not wait, and when the day had almost come, I was bouncing up and down in my sleep about the event that was mere hours away! We arrived after everyone was dressed up and ready to go, and the trip was just as exhilarating as the event we had come for! Beautiful, scenic views followed us to the Convention Center, and as we drove between the outlets, there it lay, the beholder of the convention: the McAllen Convention Center. Standing in line and simply admiring the views whilst the excitement overwhelmed me with ecstasy was one of the most delightful feelings I d ever gotten here in Texas! Since that initial experience, we have gone to the convention site one more time, and this year, we are going right back for the 2024 Anime Fiesta!!

Visited today to attend Tacos, Tequila and Chelas. The organizers of this event truly wasted the great location by not having minimal understanding of logistical planning. Whereas the concept was great, bringing together a plethora of food trucks and restaurants offering some of the areas best in tacos and plenty of drink options, they only bothered to incorporate 7 repurposed wood cable spools as tables for the several thousand people in attendance. Of course, they placed the spools in front of the fence separating the VIP area in front of the stage and the general admission area. Thus, the 1st people to arrive early in the afternoon claimed the spools for the rest of the afternoon / evening, relegating the rest of the attendees to try and balance a plate of tacos, a drink and anything else in their possession in their hands. Logistics and operations of an outdoor event are a tricky endeavor, but it can be done with proper prior planning that ensures all possible contingencies are addressed and anticipated.

Great place to host anything. But damn, the concession stand prices are ridiculous. $10 a hamburger by itself. The drinks $5 each. Everything is outrageous Thats robbery. Other then that its ok to host anything.

Visiting the gun show is always a good time. The only gripe I was with the convention center is their handicap parking. They have a total of about 10 spots in the partial side you have to park to gain entrance to the gun show. Being that my husband is in a wheelchair we usually have to end up parking a distance so the other cars wont park next to us making it easier and safer for him to enter our vehicle. It really doesnt matter what time you go we have arrived early, mid day, and almost near closing time and never do we find available handicap parking.

Conveniently located off of Highway 2/ Expressway 83. I have been to many events here and the atmosphere is always welcoming. There is plenty of free parking within a short walking distance. The restrooms are clean and the staff is friendly.

Best place for any occasion pictures m. It s amazing how beautiful the pictures come out with this wonderful view. If you are visiting McAllen or you are from the RGV area you need to come visit the convention center.

Midland concert/show, they ran out of water first, they stopped the show and asked us to leave but that they might start again in a while due to inclement weather, if they are not doing the show, tell us reschedule or refund, we have been sitting out hear for about an hour with no word of whats happening next, but they are selling beer and food, they didnt close those down. 2 years ago came to the Midland concert/show it was 29 degrees, it was drizzling and almost freezing and they didnt stop the show, we couldnt even enjoy the show then and they didnt provide outdoor heaters, they couldve rescheduled bit thats McAllen for you.

At Midland concert...its outside :/ nowhere on TicketMaster did it indicate it would be outside. The footprint, table images, everything appeared that it would be inside. Somewhat disappointed....THEN a rain storm so we had to wait in car...to be continued...

Went to comic con there. It was majorly crowded but the center was roomy, had adequate bathrooms and areas for all venues. Second time here for this event and really enjoy the environment.
