Really nice experience. Ive been to places like this overseas and was excited to find this nearby. The fish was really good and the preparations were nicely done. We ordered off the tablet and enjoyed having the food delivered to our table by a mini train. The server helping us was very pleasant. I will definitely be returning.

I love the food here a lot and the lemonade especially. They have free refills and take out. The service is honestly different depending on when you come but its usually good for me. The stuff that cones around the belt is often repeated, especially the watermelon, because nobody really eats it. I strongly recommend the chicken gyoza, I get it every time and its always good.

I personally dont enjoy sushi, yet my wife and daughter do. Here however, is the first place I can confidently say I ate sushi until I was full. I am still a bit difficult about enjoying sushi, but nigiri now has a new special place in my heart.

Had 4 plates Seaweed salad - standard in most Japanese restaurants 10/10 Salmon hand roll-6/10 sushi rice not prepared properly, fell apart almost instantly when dipping. Buttery lettuce in a hand roll was definitely not typical. Would ve preferred cucumber slices or cucumber avocado instead. However, salmon was very fresh. Hamachi sesame (yellowtail) nigiri 5/10 very lean for yellowtail sesame was aesthetically pleasing, again rice fell apart instantly just picking it up and the cut of fish didn t properly layover the rice. Negitoro- 2/10 Honestly shouldn t even rate this one as it was just regular tuna and nowhere remotely resembled a proper negitoro nigiri. Was simply roughly chopped tuna wrapped in seaweed in rice. This is typically one of my favorites in most Japanese establishments. This one was disappointing to say the least. The service and atmosphere were very nice, the food however needs improvement.

Had a great time with my friend and his family. Food was very delicious. Everything from the standard buffet style (it s not a buffet, just made in bulk) on the conveyor belt, as well as the specials you have to request. Server was very polite and fun. Beer was ice cold Sorry I only got a pic of one dish. Too hungry to try and take more.

Been here a few times, it has a good amount if variety. Was sad to see they were sold out of egg tarts again, but hopefully next time! Went here on a Friday for lunch, I was surprised that for lunchtime not much was in the belt. When you think about though, thats fine because I wouldnt want something thats been sitting there for awhile The good thing is you have the ability to order directly from the iPad at your table. My favorites are the seared salmon & seared scallops. Try the crunchy roll! The shumai was a little small & was okay. The fruit is always great! Staff was attentive & the restaurant is always clean. They werent really busy, check them out & give them a try if you havent done so.

Sushi was good once we were able to have some. There were only a few pieces on the belt for the first half of our meal. All of a sudden at 6, the belt filled up and there were a ton of rolls to choose from. Cajun roll had great flavor and gyoza was pretty good! Felt like the rest lacked a lot of flavor.

I feel like they try so hard to be like Kura sushi. Which i am fine with if the flavor was as good or better but its not even close. I really wanted this place to work out because its much closer to me than Kura but unfortunately Chinese restaurant owner cant seem to figure out how important it is to get the soy sauce and fish quality correct. The fish was okay but the soy sauce was terrible. Tasked like a cheap water down overly sweet soy sauce.

My husband and I developed acute food poisoning after eating here last weekend. After a $200 urgent care bill and $40 worth of prescriptions later (not to mention several days of lost work), we learned from the doctor that multiple people have reported similar issues after eating here. Note: check out their health inspection report with the city. They currently only hold a conditional permit and are two points away from being shut down due to food quality and safety issues. If you re lucky enough to have eaten here recently and didn t get sick, count your blessings! I used to love this place. But I ll never return.

Food was edible but the quality was bad. Theres better revolving sushi bars that are much more fun and involved for the family, taste better, use better ingredients, and despite all that, are cheaper by a noticeable margin. Service was great, but while it pains me to write this review, if you feel like driving a bit farther for better food i promise you itll be worth it. Notable complaints: rolls were lukewarm at best. tempura shrimp tasted like sonic tater tots. tempura roll pieces were sized way too thin on the plate, thinner than my pinky finger. hand roll was put together poorly, cucumber was slimy and limp. takoyaki had spicy mayo (not that its bad, but most takoyaki comes with regular kewpie mayo by the book) and tasted gummy and flavorless. crab filling could have been artificial, but with how overstuffed each roll was with the crab meat it makes sense if it was. some rolls looked like piles of rice on the plate. i had two plates of sushi, a hand roll, and the takoyaki. the bill felt like a punch in the gut

Our first revolving sushi restaurant was at Kura in Carrollton. This place was popular. Our Japanese friend took us there. We had to stand in line for three stools by the counter. A revolving sushi restaurant in Mansfield? Thats exciting! Akiras interior was one of the best among Mansfield restaurants. The design was modern and elegant. Not traditional Japanese. Very tasteful. The restroom was clean. The seating was not stools, but full-sized booths. You face your dining companions, not the conveyor belt. The seating was more comfortable than the stools. There was a touchscreen display next to the conveyor belt. So customers can order dishes not on the conveyor belt. I was not too fond of it. Other customers touch the screen. I m being hyper-sensitive. Many customers and staff touch non-electronic menu books too. We had two kinds of sushi from the conveyor belt. One plate of spicy avocado tuna. And one plate of spicy avocado salmon. Good, but only better than the grocery store. We wanted to try more, but the selection was sparse. We ordered from the touch-screen display. One bowl of shoyu ramen and one shrimp tempura udon. Much better. The ramen was too salty for me. The udon was great. I recommend it. In conclusion, Akira is an interesting dining experience for Mansfield.

The soups are always hot and the rice meals are also really nice - theyre also pretty big portions! The prices are fair, but if youre a sushi enthusiast like me who can eat a lot, be ready to pay a lot. The revolving sushi bar is a great way to sample new things as well.

Just note that this place is not the cheapest. Although it is a good bang for your buck. They pay for the amount of plates you get so be sure to eat up in order to get your moneys worth in! Vegetarian options: They do have vegetable sushi (my favorite being the avocado roll), you will have to special order them though bc they are not likely to be found on the conveyor belt. (Tbh I recommend special ordering something just because I find the little tram thing cool )

Our waitress, Rachel, was very sweet and attentive to our large group. The atmosphere is cool and obviously unique with the conveyer belt delivery system. Thats where the good things ended though. All the sushi rolls tasted old. Most were soggy and lacked flavor. The dumplings were old and rubbery. Even the spring rolls had a slimy filling. Just gross, honestly. If we hadnt been there for a birthday we would have left. Plus it was very pricey! We spent over $150 for our family of six. We tried to like it! We clearly at food at that amount of money spent but most things werent good enough to finish even the tiny helping your given for $4 a plate. I honestly wasnt expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by my visit. There are two levels of conveyer belts. You can grab anything on the 1st level for $3.95 a plate. The second level is for orders you place on the iPad, which I preferred those menu items. The rolls were ok, but I enjoyed the nigiris much more. My favorite were the seared scallops! The seared salmon and beef are also honorable mentions, although the sear was inconsistent, and in some instances, the sear was very weak. I observed some dishes were hastily constructed, which I suppose is what you have to sacrifice for convenience. However, I didnt mind that much as the overall taste was still solid, and the prices were fair. I would come back again! The conveyer experience is a cool concept everyone should try at least once.

They got a cool conveyor belt... thats about all the good this place has. The fish and rice was very low quality for 4 pieces for 4 dollars. The rice was mushy and overcooked. The fish I had had little to no flavor (meaning frozen fish). And Wasabi thats kinda watery with spice and no flavor or aroma. I spent 25 dollars (with small tip) (also everything is automated) Pretty much this is just a gimmick kind of place. I feel its bad to leave a restaurant hungry but its not even up to supermarket sushi standards. Waitress wasnt even interested to know if I enjoyed my meal or ask for any feedback.

Akarii is so fun and I love the experience every time I go there. The food is also really fantastic, and they have other options besides sushi (like their delicious shoyu ramen) but definitely get sushi too it s fairly priced and really good! Not to mention getting your food off of the revolving belt is just so fun! Also have to mention their mochi delicious!

Great place to get a quick bite of sushi! Quality of fish is very acceptable and better than some regular sushi restaurants! We come here regularly for fast meals and enjoy the variety of raw and cooked sushi pieces. They also offer non-sushi plates like noodles and rice bowls.

My grandson and I go here often to eat. We have our regular items that we order from the menu, but sometimes well grab something off of the revolving conveyor belt. The food is fresh and tasty. Its always a fun experience to bring somebody new because their faces light up! 9/11/23 - We went to another revolving sushi restaurant near Allen and it was not nearly as nice as Akari. We are so glad that Akari is close by us!

Can t even speak about the quality of the Sushi. Sat for 30 minutes. Never got drinks and the iPad wasn t working. When we inquired manager about it, he seemed almost confused about it. The server helped others who came after us. Probably won t be back.

First time here and love it! There was no wait time for Saturday around 5pm. We order half the items off the menu and the other from the revolving belt. We got beef ramen, fried crunchy roll and fresh yellow tail, food was delicious. Service was great! Definitely coming back!

The sushi was honestly worse than what youd get at a grocery store, especially for the price. We tried 7 different sushi and only one of them was worth the $4 a plate. We also tried the soba noodles and instantly regretted it because it tasted like maruchan instant ramen. Honestly super disappointing for what we spent. Go to Kura instead, its worth the drive. Vegetarian options: Only a few options didnt have meat in them.

Very good sashmi. Sushi, etc. The conveyor experiance is great. You eat in a relaxed manner with variety of dishes. Also have a tablet at the table to order dishes not seen on the conveyor. Multiple time customer. Recommend highly.

UPDATE: Electronic menu bolted to table makes it difficult for all members at the table to see what to order. Laminated menus would be much better. Was very pleasantly surprised. Sushi was excellent and fresh. Fast service in a very different serving format. If you like sushi youll like this restaurant. Tiger Roll in photo.

Best summarized as not worth it. Sushi was well below grocery store quality. Atmosphere is by far the best thing this place has going for it. We mostly grabbed plates off the sushi conveyer belt like shrimp shumai, the special for the day, sunrise roll and they were all fairly poor. They lacked flavor and the shrimp was over cooked. Not too long after we ordered dumplings which were burnt and didn t taste good either. We left early and one person from our party ended up getting a bit sick. Not worth it honestly. I ve had better sushi from Sprouts.

Not sure if it was because it was during lunch but there wasnt much options on the conveyor belt so you have to order what you want instead using the machine. A little different for a revolving sushi bar but it does work out well if you know what you want. A tad expensive for the plate but Sushi was great, service was nice and quick. Would eat here again

As an avid sushi lover, Ive been chomping at the bit to try revolving sushi. Akarii is my first experience! I will be honest, its a bit of a novelty. The sushi quality isnt high-end, but its at least above grocery store levels. They keep it freshly updated as it goes around. It does look they try to make a lot unique rolls. My favorite by far was the spicy garlic Philadelphia roll and the peppered tuna. The service was friendly and attentive. The bill at the end of dinner was about the price I pay at more upscale places, but I feel like youre paying for the experience. Id come back but only every now and then.

The food is okay it s not as great as Kura but it s better than Nagoya in Arlington. I would rather go to Kura because the food is higher quality and better. This was my first time trying to place. I ve tried the seared umami oil beef and it wasn t even seared just raw. The rice wasn t packed good aswell it would fall apart. Service is mid compared to Kura and it wasn t even packed. Also raise the IPads above please max

My 1st time eating here. The atmosphere was cute. Love the idea of revolving sushi and it was so cute how they had these little black boats bring the food you ordered that were not coming around on the belt. Our sever Dillion was polite which I liked. My ONLY dislike is that I was told that there was a shortage on sriracha and I could not have any but there was some in the building. That made me think that they pick and choose who they give sriracha to. My sushi experience woulda been 5 with it.
