We had a great experience last night. The wait staff was great but the manger Julio was amazing with his kindness and we could really tell that he cared about was being served was delicious and to our liking and that our table was happy. We saw him make several other stops at tables to insure everything was good. We will definitely be going back!

Tonight was my first time to eat here. The Rattlers were delicious, and my steak was a perfect medium rare. The service was just as amazing! The server had a great attitude and I loved the recommendations. It got busy for a little while and the Manager Julio was sweet enough to come check on us. I will definitely be back.

We went last night (9/4) and I ordered the Silver Star Porterhouse, and it was cooked to perfection. My veggies were freshly cooked and hot. Service was great and a manager named Julio was walking around making sure everything was to our liking and the rest of the customers. Ill for sure be back soon.

We have eaten at this location before, and it was always a good place to eat. Tonight, we went with a large group for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We sat in their private room, as we had a fairly large party. From the time we walked in, the service was amazing. The manager greeted us at the door, and they showed us to the room. Reanna and Tosh took amazing care of our group. Took drink orders quickly, and then promptly took all of our food orders. Drinks were refilled quickly, and salads/appetizers come out in just a few minutes. The steaks and other entrees also came out quickly. Cooked perfectly, and served at the right temperature. Desserts were very large portions, but looked amazing. The thing that I have to come back to again is the great service we received. Whether for just a few people, or a large group, this is a great place to eat!

Friday August 30th at around 5:00pm my wife and I were seated in the back area by the kitchen. We waited at least 15 minutes and no server came to our table. We got up and left, walked right past the manager who greeted us and the hostess that seated us. Not a, Is everything okay? Goodbye. Nothing So we drove to the Funky Door and were seated and served instantly and had a great experience.

Our server was nice but not as attentive as my table wouldve liked. Things like greeting our table once the rest of the guest arrived without saying anything like brb or asking what they wanted to drink, any appetizers. Our food was great and the drink i got was phenomenal (pomegranate mojito!) I ordered a kids steak with mashed potatoes 8/10 very pleased. Will return soon and update my rating on my next visit.

I took my wife out for a special birthday dinner on Tuesday August 06, 2024. The 12oz ribeyes we both ordered were horrible! Nothing but fat and gristle, could hardly cut them with a steak knife. Asked our waitress to tell the manager, he gave us a whopping 20% discount of $11.00! Didn t even have the courtesy to come see us to apologize or see what he could do to satisfy us. What an insult! Will never be eating here again! The quality was really the worst I ve ever had, so was their customer service!

Server behind us dropped a sauce and it shot out on my shoes and and on my sons shirt. I know it s an accident but it was not acknowledged at all. Beacon wrapped quail was over cooked. Food came out way to hot on the kids meal and could not eat. Baked potatoe came out hard and cold. Did not come to pay for overpriced food for this experience.

Today I tried to order something with a gift card. So the website didn t have the ability to process a gift card so I called. I had to call twice. The first time they put me on hold and never came back. I hung up and called the second time. The girl on the other end acted like she had no clue what was going on when trying to take my order and I had to look up a menu on my own on my phone in order to know what all comes with what I was ordering when usually they ask me questions and actually act like they know what they re doing. Then when I arrived I wanted to use the gift card to pay and instead she charged it all on my debit card. I had already started to drive off when I realized what had happened and I was calling a manager to see if there was a way to get it fixed. They just put me on hold and ignored me. I just felt like nobody really knew what was happening and they didn t really care to actually help and it was the worst service I ve received from saltgrass ever. Normally the service is great, but I don t know what was happening today. When I am paying this much I expect more.

Bar night! We met friends for a party. I ordered the Amaretto Splash, which comes with silver tequila, pineapple juice, peach schnapps, and Disaronno. It had a good flavor, but I personally felt it had too much peach flavor. My husband tried the Dark Forest wine in 9 oz, as well as a bottle of The Bulletin. He liked them both. The waitress was polite but definitely was annoyed about splitting our checks (we are here on business), and accidentally gave us the wrong check, but we luckily stopper her before she ran it. I had the salmon Oscar and it was pretty good! I had the side of sprouts which were also good too. The side salad wasn t so great, which I guess may be common but it was covered in a ton of cheddar. I removed a good deal of it and the waitress made some random comment about it. She might have just been trying to be funny or cute with the comment but with a literal handful of cheese on the side and still some on the salad, I thought it was a weird comment.

KUDOS To Gabby our AMAZING Server and Jacques the manager! We ate there last week and had EXCEPTIONAL service! The restaurant is nice enough, clean, friendly staff, but SO SLOW. It took FOREVER to get anything. Drink our appetizer came out in around the time it usually takes to get an entree, our salads took a similar amount of time AFTER the appetizer. The food itself, when it finally came was just okay. One of the steaks was overcooked. There are plenty places to get a steak in Lubbock, and they are all better choices.

My family and I went out tonight to celebrate a special occasion. Our server was friendly and served us drinks and appetizers quickly. After we ordered our food, we waited 30 minutes and had to remind her about our soup and salads before she brought them out. After that, she stopped by our table several time with many excuses why our food had not arrived yet. We did not receive our food until we had waited 1 1/2 hours. We asked to speak to the Manager Cep. He proceeded to tell us that the server forgot to put in our order, and he did everything he could to push our food through. He asked us what we wanted him to do about the situation. He never apologized. He never offered any compensation, and he never checked on us again. How unprofessional to throw the server under the bus like that. How appalling that he never apologized. How insulting that he did not offer any compensation for us waiting 90 minutes before our entrees came. We will not be eating at Saltgrass in the future.

Service started out okay. We went to for dinner Mother s Day. Server was tired and seemed a little frustrated at first. she started out not very friendly. But as dinner progressed, she was better a lot nicer. We ordered the Wagyu steak for the first time. Not impressed at all. Our steak was med rare very tough, not easy to cut with a knife and fork. Taste was perfect. Will not order this again at Saltgrass. Also got a large baked potato very dry and short on toppings. Also ordered tortilla soup, came out like a liquid broth, i ve never seen chicken tortilla soup like this before. I will say, I ve ordered the bone-in ribeye on various occasions, always great. I called a head to see if they were busy and if I needed a reservation. The hostres said it they were mot busy. When I arrived 10 minutes later they parking lot was full. However, when I went inside, they were able to seat me right away despite having a bunch of people there. Likewise, the party of eight that arrived at the same time as I did only had to wait 15 minutes. After i ordered, the waitress approached me and told me that it might be a while for my steak because there were several large orders in front of me. However, my steak arrived 5 minutes later and was perfectly done. The wait staff was very friendly. One even sat down with me to discuss the book I was reading when she didnt have any tables. I have seen many similar restaurants understaffed, but it seemed like the manager found the perfect balance to ensure the waitstaff has enough manning to interact with thier customers without having to much that they are borded or tripping over each other. The only criticism I had was that the porthouse steak I bought was a little bland. A nice rub or a prince of lawarys seasoning and pepper would have gone a long way with it. All around great place. Oh, they are very military friendly.

Food was subpar for a $32 steak. We arrived at 3:15 approx on 4/16/24 and still had not seen our food at 4:30. Our food other than appetizer took ridiculously long. There were only two other tables in the entire restaurant. It was evident there were issues in the kitchen. When the food came out the plates were so hot that the server had difficulty delivering to our table. Were they warmed up? My sweet potato was tepid at best. The regular potato was fine but the server said they were out of sour cream. We complained and she said she d check again. Sour cream was delivered shortly thereafter. A third person in our party had a potato with sour cream and no butter. The garlic butter on the steak was so salty and didn t even melt. At least we could scrape it off. It will be quite sometime before we visit again when Longhorn is just down the road. Our server was very courteous and did her job. No complaints there.

Manager came over because my friend had never been to Saltgrass before then a minute later the waitress ran over in a panic to put a Cocktail napkin under her water ...um. Ok. Jacques the manager took extra time to check ingredients to make sure they didn t have gluten or soy. I have food allergies that make eating out a challenge. Jacques even cooked the Brussels sprouts himself to make sure they were right. The best meal I ve eaten out in forever. The steak was absolutely perfect and they even have gluten free bread. Thanks to Jacques the brussel sprouts were Amazing, as were the potatoes. He took the time to make my meal an experience and a pleasure. I m so happy. I ordered the 16 ounce ribeye, medium rare, with a side of sweet potato fries and smoked mac and cheese. The fries were okay and the mac and cheese was excellent. The steak was cooked correctly but was horribly tough and mostly gristle and fat. I literally only had about 3 bites that were edible. Worst steak I have ever had in any restaurant. Establishment was clean with a nice atmosphere. Service was mediocre to adequate. Had to request basic services (removal of empty plates and drink glasses). Overall a single star because of the disgusting steak for what was a ridiculous price considering how bad it was. I informed the wait staff that I felt the steak was the worst I have ever had in a restaurant and received zero feedback. I will not ever eat at Salt Grass again and would not recommend it to anyone, as there are much better options in Lubbock for much better prices.

$30 dollar plate look sad. I myself and 2 kids. I got my plate first, got cold waiting on my sons plate. Then messed up on daughters plate which had to be remade. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive. My husband got a steak which he said was cooked to perfection. I got the Salmon Oscar. The crab meat on top was cold like it had been refrigerated which was very off putting. Once I took the crab meat off the salmon was fabulous. There were also no capers as listed on the menu. I would go back but try something else.

After almost 30 minutes after ordering, we finally received our appetizer; 50 minutes we received our salads, and 10-15 minutes later, our meal. I had ordered the 12oz ribeye and it was cold. I wouldnt say they were extremely busy, but to have to wait over an hour seemed a little extreme to me. We have eaten here in the past without these issues.

Ordered catering, from the start it has been less satisfactory. The hostess said they weren t open after four on Christmas Eve. They were open regular hours, talked to the manager said they were open regular hours. No ranch and two sides missing. Not the greatest for the holiday rush.

We dined at the Saltgrass Steak House on Thanksgiving Day this year, and the food was excellent . The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was quite nice. We truly enjoyed our lunch, and would highly recommend the Saltgrass Steak House to anyone who is looking for a nice place to dine, with a great variety of really good food to choose from. Parking: The parking at the Saltgrass Steak House is adequate; we had no problem whatsoever finding a parking spot , and we were not far from the entrance to the restaurant.

Ordered 1/2 rack of ribs, juicy and delicious! They were out of fried green beans, so I got a salad instead - delicious. My waiter was excellent!!!! The atmosphere is very nice, with perfect lighting and no loud music. I had to leave early because of an urgent call, and the waiter immediately prepared a to-go box. Thx for a great lunch experience!

Came in for a late lunch on a Sunday and the wait was 20 minutes which is expected. We waited over an hour for our food and the restaurant was not full. My steak was extremely under cooked and took another 15 minutes for my plate to arrive. My party had finished eating. The issue was never addressed my management only a new server who was trying his hardest! I do not recommend for the price you can get way better food and service elsewhere!

Attended here on a work holiday luncheon, we got there 3o minutes after they opened. Our waiter was fantastic, he was incredibly attentive and friendly and a great conversationalist. He was able to give us recommendations as well as an education about the food thats made in house. From the desserts to the house dressings. My bone in ribeye steak while cooked wrong was still flavorful and great as it was, despite not being rare as requested, it wasnt anything worth sending back because it tasted well. The house made 1000 Island was great if on the sweet side and drowned the salad more than I liked but did taste good. Crispy onions were perfect Carrot cake was very good, needed more carrot but the icing was delicious.

Our reservation was for 7:30 (party of 15). We weren t sat until 8:45 didn t get to order drinks until 8:55 the first half of our party got their food at 9:15 the other half got their food at 9:40 (the first half had finished eating). Our waiter and management were less than helpful and showed no regard to our party. I don t understand why they would assure us weeks ago they could accommodate a party of that size - if the wait staff, kitchen, bar staff and management can t do their jobs. Do not come here unless you want to be disappointed. Go eat at Las Brisas or Texas Roadhouse.

Edit: just went to salt grass today Dec 2 2023 and they have completely redeemed themselves. The food is no longer resting under heat lamps getting tough and cold the servers are on point, prompt but not over bearing. 1000% we will be making this a regular spot again. Well we use to come here a lot more than we have lately. Waitress may have been newer as she kept talking over and cutting me and my fiancé off. On top of that we were there for about an hour or so in total with waiting for our food and I saw a manager clearing tables as best he could but clearly they are understaffed. It could be the fact also that the waitresses kept staying in the kitchen area laughing and cutting up about this or that and not assisting clear tables that had been sitting uncleared after the people left for 30 minutes. Sadly I will not be returning to this location. Sorry to have seen it go down hill. The ribeye was cold when it got to the table and the Brussels were dried out from sitting under a heat lamp too long.

Lady Janice and I had traditional Thanksgiving meal here. Food perfect:tender large portion of tender moist turkey, delicious mashed potatoes green bean casserole excellent dressing with giblets gravy and chunky cranberry sauce. On top of the perfect food Aliyah with the beautiful smile provided attentive cheerful service. We were seated promptly by our Hostess Jasmine. Both Chris and Sep stopped by our table to confirm our dining experience was conforming to their high standards. I rate our visit a 14 on a scale of 1 to 10. My rating? EWEP. My mother and I both had the 12 oz Ribeye. The steak was nice ,but it was very salty. I also had the brussel sprouts that were salty and dry. Mom never complains,but she only ate half of it. I think someone in the kitchen is a little heavy handed with the salt. I have kicked myself for not sending it back. Will try somewhere else next time.
