Skate Ranch is an awesome place for kiddos to skate! They stole our hearts with having for skating every Wednesday of the summer for special needs kiddos! My granddaughter with Arthrogryposis loves skating!

We loved going here as a kid so I started allowing my girls go on the weekends however their security needs to be better trained on how they handle situations. My daughters went Saturday and these other little girls started drama with one. My daughter was trying to call us to go get her but instead of allowing her to do that safely in the building, they threw her out without knowing the whole story . So she is outside and calling us and the other little just runs up on my daughter hitting her . What did they expect what would happen when they threw them out . The staff handled the whole situation poorly. I was able to get my child but I was hoping LPD was called but it took a while for them to get there . The way the whole thing happened and how it was handled was poorly done . Unfortunately we won t be going back but do wish security gets better and maybe an officer needs to be present . Kids should be allowed to have fun without fearing their safety from other kids who don t know how to act .

Our family attended a party at Skate Ranch this week. We enjoyed the clean, family atmosphere, and the friendly staff was very helpful! I appreciated the training area where the little ones could learn to skate safely, and other skaters didnt have to be concerned about running over them. This place is so run down which is sad because I think the owner that died used to take more pride in it. Went there recently for a party in the winter and it was freezing cold (no heater). The bathrooms were completely disgusting, I can t stress that enough. I really hope they get this place back in better shape.

Skate Ranch is a decent spot. Staff very polite. They are very selective about what you take in no purses, backpacks, it has to be clear. We were able to take in diaper bag & stroller. It made me a little worried that we had to be scanned with a metal detector wand, just wondered if maybe they ve had some issues before with maybe people taking things in they shouldn t but other than that it was good. Definitely felt safe. Great music, the kids loved it

This skating rink is for kids. There s lots of snacks and the staff is very friendly and helpful! Went on a Friday for the first time last year, the rink was fairly, (almost to the point where you can t skate comfortably) crowded- with kids. The back part is closed off for hokey which can be fun if the place were bigger but it does have a scent. (And the hokey players sometimes will misplace the puck which can cause some tripping and falling). It s not a big skating rink but it s a skating rink. I d bring headphones. Disappointed the adult skate night has been discontinued. Some renovations would be nice, hopefully integrating adult skate night on a Saturday or Friday can help fund Skate ranch to its great potential, because skating became more popular during the pandemic this place should be booming. Hope this review doesn t seem too negative because I love the fact that there s a local skating rink but it s honest.

It really sucks because there is little to no ac, really. Also just to add to this my family wanted to go on Sunday, and it was 6:00 pm we were planning an getting ready when we notice that it CLOSED at 4:30 pm, so really it s disappointing as I was dissatisfied as well. I feel it would be better if it was open for an extended amount of hours instead, and If not then I feel that it should be open on Sunday the same hours as the rest of the days. I m really not going back anytime soon.. if this problem is continued. My whole family was upset.

I had my daughters birthday party there twice first time when she was five and it was super HOT but okay second time when she turned nine thought Id give it a second chance cause we love skating again super HOT. Not only that the staff was very RUDE we felt rushed as if we werent welcomed and the elderly man that I have seen there for years even when I was younger kept coming to our party section and watching us like a hawk as if we were doing something wrong and kept staring at everything we had. Felt super uncomfortable and so did my entire family. Not giving it another chance. Ill find another skate ranch somewhere else in Lubbock.

This skating rink was VERY packed and the rental skates are SO HEAVY! I came here on a Saturday night and the referee type people kept blowing their whistles, for reasons which I didn t understand. Perhaps their rules should be written explicitly somewhere? Also, the music selection was horrible. Definitely not music you can dance to and groove skate.

Poor experience, the Hispanic man was rude! You walk n and there are skates all on the walkway that no one is wearing. People are falling down as it is but just walking in was a hazard. When you get your skates the Hispanic lady was even more rude. I grew up here and now its all just whatever there.

Weve had a lot of fun here throughout the years, birthdays, school skate nights, etc. They have great prices, fresh pizza, they are very friendly & helpful, super encouraging and patient with new skaters (even have the beginners triangle brace things). Its a great way to get everybody up and moving. Caution for photosensitive epileptics- I dont remember an announcement for the flashing disco lights, so you might ask what time that starts. My only other suggestion would be have more family music, (maybe post family hours with music list). Please dont play songs like Speed Racer or Slat N Peppers Push it, Grease Lightnin, maybe instead- Alex Boye, kids bop or soundtracks from cartoons, or just any clean music from any genre or decade. We would definitely come back more often if we knew the music would be healthy for growing minds. Thanks

Parking lot and building do look run down but inside is clean and the staff is super nice! The kids really enjoyed it and there were so many teenagers but they dont bother anyone. Well behaved kids. I just suggest putting more waters to cool down, cold water is always nice. They were at room temp but ice was given so thats a plus! Will definitely be going back!
