Very poor experience the whole time .. ... lane kept messing up took forever to get assistance ... were not informed about smaller balls for kids were behind the counter ..... after searching for small balls for about 20 min for the kids a CUSTOMER told us they were behind the counter ...... just over all 1/10. ....... now I know y my momma always took us to South plains lanes

Came 6-9-2024 at 9:35pm to play 1 game or two if we had time, with the family, we drove from San Antonio and some drove from San Angelo. only two lanes were being used. Employee said he didnt have enough staff for us to play a game. We have always loved to play here, guess we will be changing our tradition to Main Event. Lets see if they have enough employees to let us play. Also, times need to be updated if we cant play before 10pm.

This bowling alley is pretty underrated. The staff are friendly and the place is very well kept. This is a great place to bring kids if they just want to bowl. There s nothing complicated, a great snack bar, and a very nice bartender who was very quick with drinks. Overall, a fantastic place! I highly recommend if you just want to have a great time with no screaming kids running around everywhere.

You can only get one drink at a time (can t even get an extra drink to take to a friend) and everyone who is getting a drink has to be present in the bar when ordering. Makes it really difficult to bowl while having drinks. The line in the bar was very long with only one bartender. No buckets or pitchers of beer! So basically you d have to wait in line and only have one drink before/while you bowl, then don t plan on having more than one drink while your game is going on, because you d have to walk to the bar & wait in line for 10-15 minutes just to get another drink in the middle of your game. Also - the pin setter kept malfunctioning while we were playing.

Always a blast! Dillan, Ray & Terry are wonderful people very generous and accommodating. Richard is great too always quick to help with any lane/ball issues. James Bond is one of the best Bartenders in town. We only bowl at South Plains Lanes and we go at least 4 times a month Also, a great place to have parties!!!

This place is not what it once was. Its also more expensive then I remember. It was $80 for two hours for four of us.. seems I should get to bowl for more wine for 80 bucks. The employees are also rude. Had the maintenance worker (I guess that 8a what he does) walk right in front of about 5 lanes as they were approaching he just walks down across 5 lanes with no regards to anyone but himself. I also offered unwanted advice. Very creepy. As for the panes themselves, way too oily.. outrageously oilly. Overall, we probably wont ever bowl here again.

I went bowling here in a busy Saturday night. Even though it was busy I only had to wait 30min in which I had a snack from there. They got good pretzels but on my second order while I was bowling it took them about 30min for it to come out granted they were busy. They have a nice bar area as well but only had one bar tender for such a busy night. One strange thing I saw was a police officer helping doing general stuff such as put chairs out and be in the kitchen at one point. Other than that lanes were nice and the bowling balls weren t destroyed like some places will have.

I am not one to ever leave a review at a place but I couldn t let anyone else get treated the way we did here. We paid for a two hour game and waited a additional hour before our lane was open. We had just started playing and our lane quit working. The balls would not return back to us, and they wouldn t put the correct pins back up after a shot. The maintenance guy had to come over and try to fix our lane on 3 separate occasions. They never stopped the clock for our game so we wasted 30 minutes we should have been playing. He fixed it for about 5 minutes then it quit working again. Finally our lane just went dark. We stood there for 15 minutes assuming he was trying to find the source of the issue. Finally my boyfriend went up to talk to them to see what was happening and they told us they shut us off. Confused, he asked why and they told him Becuase we had caused the problems. I m not sure how everyone else bowls, but it s not rocket science to roll a ball down to some pins. We had been playing the same as everyone else. They never even had the decency to tell us we had been shutdown so we sat around waiting. We only got to play a solid 20 minutes before problems began occurring and then were shut off. They never offered to refund our money either. Very unprofessional staff.

All he had to say to me was were open but we dont have any lanes open because theres a league here that takes up the lanes and hung up me. We love SPL! From the full menu of food, to the bar drinks, to the lanes, it s all a hit! I am very sad that they haven t changed their hours back to opening sooner, (they don t open any earlier than 5pm any day to the public) because then you have to show up right at 5 especially on weekends to be able to get a lane right away, but otherwise this is definitely the best place to bowl as long as you don t mind waiting until the evening!

My friends and I have been coming to bowl here for years now. We would go just about very Thursday to do their $3.50 drafts along with their $10 per person for 2 hours. It was a cheap and fun way to spend our Thursdays. Unfortunately, they have now bumped up the price twice in the last year all the way to $15 per person. And their $3.50 drafts are the same price, but their cups have decreased in size.
