I always look forward to coming to shows at this place. They have really invested a lot into the venue and have made it one of the best in Lubbock. The restaurants food and drinks are really good too. There are a lot of neat signs and memorabilia to look at. I would recommend it to everyone.

lack of drink selection, no one directing traffic before or after event. Not enough ice in my bag of beer, it was gross after a few minutes. They could provide some sun shades, not electrocute their staff with improper grounding of computers outside. Zero information online about event and what to expect. Had fun, but I wouldnt go back there.

I have been to this venue a few times now, and, wondering, has anyone else gone there and drank a ton but left with absolutely no buzz? The last time I was there, I drank vodka and cranberry, the hubby had rum and coke, but, we both, began to realize that there was no buzz accompanying the many drinks we had. I know that watering down liquor is something only a fool would do, but, I dont know what else to think. We have tickets for Dwight Yoakam tonight, and Im kinda bummed, because I want to have a drink, but, Im not paying those prices for something that doesnt do what its supposed to do.

This is a spectacular venue for Lubbock shows, I wish there was more shade, but that said given the show started at 6:00 it wasnt bad as long as you had sunscreen. Being able to bring a chair and sit outside and move around is spectacular. I hope as we try to bring in more big names to lubbock, more of them set up out of cooks then maybe the United Spirit arena or other places because this is just way more comfortable. It is also more accessible in terms of 88 issues, yeah youre probably going to deal with some meteorological events and risks being open are, but to me this is way more accessible than United Spirit arena or Buddy Holly or anything else.

What a fantastic stop! The food was above average. The pot roast was tasty and plentiful. It came with 2 sides and the broccoli was cooked to perfection and the sautéed mushrooms were as well. But the decor was a feast for the soul. As a Tech Alum from the 90s... I appreciated all the neon near the location of the old strip. The vintage signs and cars were everywhere and was displayed well for all to enjoy. Well done Cooks... well done.

We were traveling through Lubbock with a rescue puppy and looking for somewhere to eat that was dog friendly. Cooks came up in the search, and we decided to give it a shot. We arrived around 4:30pm on a Sunday. They had not opened their patio at that time but made an exception for us. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. The burgers we ordered were larger than expected, delicious, and reasonable priced. This place was very good to us and we will probably be back soon.

The atmosphere is VERY FUN. They stay very busy, so understandably, the service is a bit slow. This tends to make the food a bit cooler than expected once it reaches the table and the beers a bit warmer. The establishment has little control over this, so I cant give less than 4 stars. Food tasted great. Service was sparse but friendly.

We were there around 2PM on a Thursday. We both had hamburgers. I m not sure who cooked them as they were medium rare to well done all in the same patty and it took a long time to get our food. Being 2PM there were only about 6 tables of people. Our waitress was attentive and polite. The onion rings were very good. We ate the done parts of our burger and had a couple of beers. We liked the decor, old signs and cars. We will give them another try.

Great concert venue and atmosphere. For other non-locals visiting here though, YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS. We didnt eat at the restaurant so not sure how the service and food are. We did get drinks from the outdoor bar. Im removing a point because my husband and I had the same order the entire night and the bill was different EVERY TIME, sometimes by more than a few dollars. By the end of the night, we were questioning whether the bartenders were paid on sales because there was an obvious difference in the way each were ringing up orders.

We were thrilled when our son told us that his band would be opening for Willie Nelson. For the first time ever, he said, Mama, I can get you & Dad some comp tickets to come see us play, if you want... I just squealed and hugged him, Yes!! Absolutely!! He had the names, had called his PR person and even contacted the venue; everything was good! Only, it WASNT. Instead, THIS is what happened: Who are u? You cant be in here with a BAG!! Again, who ARE YOU?? And what do YOU want?? (asked by a police officer) There is no LIST like that. (Snorted by a little ol gal who felt very powerful behind that card table there...)No going in the restaurant, no coming back out to your seating. (WHAT?????) No drinking here in THESE zones. And prring only in THESE zones..!! (Again, WHAT????) The entire atmosphere out there on the asphalt wonder world is pretty much The Badlands. I not only had to protect my husband from a whole group of stupid sorority girls hungry for Ty Myers - Cant WE have all these places for OUR chairs??? I mean, you cant possibly take up much more room than your handsome macho.goodlookin self, right??? That is exactly the time I stood up to my full 52 height and told them that WERE JUST FINE, THANK YOU.

I love visiting place that completely assaults my senses, especially the visual component. Cook s Garage does just that. It put me in sensory overload. There is so much eye candy here to absorb that it s easy to lose track of time, and completely overlook the food and beverage component of the service offering. Cook s Garage is simultaneously concert venue (both indoor and outdoor), restaurant, bar, and museum (both outdoor and indoor). It occupies several acres on Lubbock s south side, and is one of the premier US collections of neon, gas station pole signs, and porcelain signs you could ever hope to see in one place. And as a side note, you can eat and drink here too, although it s easy to overlook that while perusing all of the countless collectibles here to see. Lots of distractions! I was fortunate to meet Rusty s glass bender, a woman named Rebecca, who has done the majority of the neon restorations here. She does amazing work, bringing the signs back to their former glory, including all the chaser bulbs and animations. My jaw dropped many times. I had a basic lunch while here. I am not one for standard pub food, but that s OK if it s your jam. My server was extremely polite and methodical in making sure I was happy with a basic salad of greens and veggies, along with a baked potato. A couple of Hopadillos helped wash it all down. You can t come here expecting to eat and run. Nope. There s waaaaay too much to see and appreciate, and Mr. Cook has done a yeoman s job of assembling a top tier collection and making it accessible to the masses. Bravo! I will be back! Vegetarian options: This is a carnivorous kind of place, but you can cobble together a meal by asking to make your salad and baked potato veg-friendly. There are a few sides that will also suffice

Food: Were from Ohio, touring Texas to escape the snowy winter. Lubbock is a passthrough town for us. We came to this venue for the food, not for a musical performance. If I could give this restaurant 6 stars, I would! I had THE BEST filet mignon Ive ever eaten, and Im no spring chicken. My husband enjoyed his cheese steak. The vegetables were fresh and hot. The menu is huge and diverse, and everything we had was fresh. If you cant find something you like on this menu, then you are from another culture or from an ancient time period. The prices are more than reasonable (a steal) for food of this quality and quantity. Drinks: Excellent beer choices. Decent bar setup. The margarita was average. The wine choices arent great, but the server was up front about that. They probably dont sell a lot of wine. Im a wino, but I forgive them because everything else was so good. Atmosphere: Very casual. The server was extra friendly. The live music in the restaurant was local and quite good. (Country-ish) The restaurant occupies a large space with a high ceiling, dozens of historical neon signs, and antique cars. I am no fan of cars, but I love neon signs, and I love live music. This experience is what I will remember from my trip to Lubbock. P.S. Go to the Buddy Holly museum while youre here.

Really cool place. Lots of old signs and car memorabilia. The food was very good, as well. California Grilled chicken sandwich was awesome. Thick bacon, fresh avocado, chicken cooked just right. Ill be back to try some other items.

The food is not why I come , its typically the atmosphere. Unfortunately it doesnt appear that they have done anything significant to keep the mosquitoes down in the area we where there for an outdoor concert. I attempted communication but no reply after a few days. I think they need to get some foggers out and work with a pest control business to protect their customers. In 2 hours I was bitten enough times by mosquitoes that I had to take benadril when I got home. Mind you I work outside most of the time so this isnt something that normally bothers me. It was excessive considering over 1000+ people where all there swatting at bugs and getting bit all night.

I was really excited to see my favorite band and was kicked out because the staff didn t give me an X ok my hand. Talked to the manager and several employees and they told me I can t get in again because I was kicked out due to them not marking my hand. I would like to get a refund but so far no one has been helpful.
