My wife is a chicken fried steak conessiuer and said that this one was the best shes ever had. That gravy was insane. You could put it on anything and elevate it.

This place is well known in and around lubbock as the spot for breakfast and lunch if you can make it! But boy, I hope you do for your sake! I cant believe iv lived here this long and never tried it! We had the chicken fried steak that was immediately number 1 in lubbock on the first bite! Then, a pretty juicy burger that the bun was a perfect match with. I mean, I am coming back for one of those, too! We had a pie but ate it so quickly had no time for pictures! The staff is great, and you are well taken care of in any section! Make this your spot at least once a month or even once a week, and you will not be disappointed !

It s all about boots, pie and chicken fry at the Cast Iron Grill. We had a tasty southern breakfast just like mama used to make. Everything was cooked perfectly and our server was so friendly and kind. The prices are reasonable. The pie here is amazing too. Looking forward to our next visit when we come back to Lubbock! Parking: Parking is free and their lot is right next to the Buddy Holly Museum. Kid-friendliness: High chairs were available and the staff is very kind to children.

Maybe because we arrived at 1:30 and they close at 2 it wasnt as great as I had hoped. The dessert case was so picked over nothing that was left looked good. The chicken fried chicken with green chile gravy was great. Fried green beans just ok. Bowl of green chile came out barely warm. Yasmin was a great server and she had the stew heated up. Served hot it was good. Our table was so close to the kitchen we heard a man yelling orders to staff all during our lunch. Cant say Id return or recommend.

We happen to be in lubbock I googled because I am not from there best places to eat this restaurant came up as the #1 spot. We went in it was shortly after rush hour so maybe that makes a difference but either way I think the restaurant doesn t have enough parking, the front as you come in is cute and set up nicely, we noticed that they had a display case with beautiful selections of desserts( honestly I think this is why it s so highly rated), I ordered a salad and my aunt ordered marinated chicken she said it was warm and the food was small portioned so she was able to eat everything. My salad was 11.99 I asked for no tomatoes and no dressing but it claimed to have romaine lettuce none was in my serving and I found the serving of chicken to be small( this could have been my fault for not asking for extra chicken) I feel that salad is at best shouldn t cost no more than 7.00 for iceberg lettuce, a couple of onions and chicken. The waitress was pleasant and did check on us which was good. I hope if you do go here you have a way better experience than we did. It not a place I would attend again while in the area. I rely heavily on reviews when I eat out places and hope this helps the next person. Parking: Maybe 5-10 unless you can park across the street

Great chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, etc. Service was good until the end when our waitress got swamped by other tables and we waited way too long to get our check. The place was hopping on a Friday. The waiting area was a bit claustrophobic and almost shoulder to shoulder. Overall, great food!

We visited Cast Iron Grill while in the area for business. We liked it so much the first time we came back the next day for breakfast. To me, its everything you would expect in a good ol country breakfast. Eggs, meat, biscuits, pancakes, and coffee were all delicious. We noticed they make homemade pies in the house each day. We didnt get to try them, but they looked delicious. Ill try one the next time Im in town. If youre looking for solid food, friendly waitstaff, and plenty of seating, give it a shot.

Everytime I come back to Lubbock to visit family, I try to have a meal at Cast Iron Grill. It s been about 7 years, and it was as delicious as ever! The two egg breakfast is an amazing deal! The bacon is so thick cut and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed my biscuit smothered in gravy with the pan fry potatoes well seasoned with some bell pepper. The eggs were cooked well and went great with the biscuits and gravy since I was hungry for a savory breakfast, today. My son had the hash browns and pancake which he thoroughly enjoyed. Neither of us could finish so we took a plate back for my other son for a little breakfast, too. Excellent service from our waittress. Such a warm, friendly, professional wholesome atmosphere. All the staff here walks fast as they hustle and bustle to take care of customers. I m so glad to see that the owner, Teresa is thriving with her business. Atmosphere, food, and service at Cast Iron Grill is 5 Stars +++

Went to the AMAZING Buddy Holly Museum (The Day The Music Died). What a blast from the past! After, our group was HUNGRY and happened to notice the CAST IRON GRILL just across the street. What a WONDERFUL experience! When was the last time you had a DELICIOUS Half Pound Burger, grilled to perfection and served surrounded by fresh made crispy Potato Chips? YES, this place makes their own Potato Chips and they are AMAZING!. So we asked about the Onion Rings - are they frozen??? NO WAY! Big thick rings of sweet onion, freshly breaded and fried crispy just like the Potato Chips. Now I grant you this isnt a Health Food Restaurant (unless you grew up in the 50s and 60;s like we did). This is just GREAT AMERICAN CUISI:NE served PERFECT. AND BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE HOME MADE PIE SELECTION! They are in the big display case right in side the front door. This place is a local hit just because of the PIE! If you are going to Lubbock, Texas or just passing through on your way somewhere, DONT MISS THE CAST IRON GRILL! It is well worth an overnight stay in this lovely West Texas town. Dietary restrictions: Come with an EMPTY stomach! Parking: Plenty of on site and on street parking. OR you can leave your car across the street at the Buddy Holly Museum parking lot. Kid-friendliness: This is a great place for the whole family. The wait staff is also amazing with big smiles and an eagerness to help! Wheelchair accessibility: Fully handicap accessible. Doors are wide and no steps to negotiate.

Very rude management who are not child friendly. We used to love this place and haven t been in about a year because we had a baby. First time going back we asked for a high chair and were treated like crap and they brought a booster seat for a 1 year old . When we explained that she would fall out the waitress went to get a manager and she said that rules are rules and we can t have high chairs at booths! We were in the corner with no one any where near our table. And the first thing the manager said when she walked up was so I see your upset! Very rude Very condescending Very anti children. Will not be going back and discourage anybody who cares about supporting family friendly breakfast eateries to go elsewhere. Did not expect big city treatment at a local breakfast house that we used to love.

Service and food are phenomenal, one of the top places to eat in Lubbock. Desserts sell out daily, so order early!

Meat in burger tasted bad. Onion rings were burnt and oil tasted old.

We are from out of town. The parking lot was full. There were people waiting out the door to get in. They tempt people with the pie case right as you walk inside the door. This place has their act together with host, bussing of tables, wait staff, and kitchen. A+, number 1.

Food was delicious! I got the Phili queso Hamburger. I had to use a fork to eat it, I mean that as a huge compliment. Good meaty flavor, amazing bun! Fries were the skin-on kind. I love those but just know there s a lot of potato skin. The atmosphere is familial, like a big family reunion. Friendly servers. Food
