Hutchins BBQ is always a solid bet for world-class Texas BBQ. I ve eaten at BBQ places all around Texas and the U.S., and Hutchins is hands down THE best BBQ I ve ever eaten. The brisket is always perfect, and ribs are amazing too. One of the sleepers on the sides menus is the broccoli salad give it a try and I guarantee you ll love it. Add to that how amazing their homemade peach cobbler, banana pudding, and ice cream are, and you ll walk away satisfied every time from Hutchins. Yes, prices are on the high side, but it s well worth the money!

***DISCLAIMER*** I am a beef eater. I very rarely eat pork, so keep that in mind when I give my opinion. I ordered everything that I heard Hutchins BBQ was known for and everything that I wanted to taste. Lets get into it. Beef ribs: I have definitely had better. This was a HUGE bone but the meat was too tender. It didnt just fall off the bone, it ate like mush . Now, I like a good tender beef rib but that is not what that was. I paid a little over $50 for one bone. Brisket link: definitely a different flavor. Kinda had the flavor of chili mixed with a hot link. Different, but not horrible. Brisket: again very tender meat and super fatty. If you pick up the slice it will fall apart kind of soft. It had a good flavor on the meat (barring the fat) but was hard to eat. Texas Twinkie: (again, I am not a fan of pork but I had to give it a try). I expected the cream cheese to be warm or kind of soft and for the filling to be mixed. Instead, it was layered. So I bit into a big chunk of unflavored cream cheese wrapped in fresh (not smoked) jalapeno and soft smoked bacon. Yeah, no. Hard pass for me. Smoked Turkey: about the one meat that was right. Not dry, good flavor and not too tender. It ate like sliced turkey should. Mac n cheese and okra: okay, not great but also not bad. Nothing to write home about. Kinda pricey at $4 a portion though so be mindful. Creamed Corn: no kidding, I was expecting this to taste as bad as it looked, but man that stuff was bussin okkkay (that means it was good - no GREAT! lol) It is about the only thing that I tried that I would 10/10 recommend. It has a creaminess, almost melted cheese feel and the flavor was right on point. Dont let the look deceive you. Its good. Dessert: no rating. I tried the peach cobbler but cant remember how I felt about it. Overall, I paid $108 for my food. Based on perceived value, I overpaid. However, there are not many places in DFW that do beef ribs so I had to give Hutchins BBQ a try. Not a fan. Not for me. But thats just my opinion. My daughter absolutely enjoys the food at Hutchins BBQ.

For starters, the guy helping us at the counter was able to calculate the weight of meat just by sight. The experience started off impressive. Boy, did it continue to trend upwards from there. We ordered fatty brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, pork ribs, and the Texas Twinkie. All of the meats were amazing. We also got sides. We tried the potato casserole, the mac and cheese and the brisket pinto beans. All great. The original barbecue sauce was fantastic and complimented all of the meats we tried. Lastly, the complimentary peach cobbler for dine in guests always delicious. I would recommend this to any BBQ fanatic.

So many other food options that i must go back and try. It was a long drive but well worth it! Put this place on your list. After youve been there youll understand. Parking: Backed up drive thru window makes it difficult to enter parking lot. Limited spaces available Kid-friendliness: The restaurant has a fun exciting atmosphere. I have now experienced the Texas Twinkie. Yes, they have great barbecue, but it s much more than that. Every.Single.Employee was so friendly, truly kind and helpful to this first time guest. I have never experienced every employee outside in the pit or inside the building who were so kind and caring. Well oiled machine - despite the line well before they open, they get you in and eating as quick as possible. No coke, but they do have Dr. Pepper. I was going to bypass the banana pudding because of my diet. Don t pass it up. Eat the banana pudding. It s worth cheating on your diet. Never in my life have I had banana pudding like this. Can t wait to see y all in Lockhart in November! Parking: There s plenty of parking, there s just a lot of people waiting to get in. You also might experience people on the road waiting to go through the drive-through. Just go around them and you ll find parking spaces in the parking lot.

We pulled up to the McKinney location and the drive through and parking lot were backed up. We were seconds away from heading to some other place to eat. Man Im glad we stayed. My grandkids, wife and daughter all loved the food, and kind service. The food was beyond my expectations. I had the ribs, turkey, and sausage. All were the best Ive had. My wife had pulled pork and ribs, and of course she stole some of my sausage and turkey. The brisket beans and cream corn were also tasty. I told the manager that we loved the food, but what we enjoyed more than anything else was the staff. All were excellent and very helpful. What impressed me the most was an older couple were escorted to their table and two employees braced them and supported them as they struggled to their table. Then the servers went back and brought their food to the table and were very attentive to them. If youve never been--GO! When we come back out to visit our daughter and grandkids--we gonna chow down again. Thank you Hutchins BBQ. You all deserve a high five and thank you for the tasty food. 4 hours later I still smell like BBQ and am belching some sweet rib scent. Your all are awesome!

I went to the McKinney location and the staff was very friendly and attentive which is always a plus The price, a little pricey! But the food?.... Totally Delicious!!!! The meats were smoked to perfection! Now the Potato Casserole had great flavor but could use a little more texture... also we need more green veggie options but that which was offered tasted GREAT!

I am a bit surprised at how highly everyone talks about this place, especially being in Texas with so many options for BBQ. The food is just okay really just the brisket is good. Other BBQ places all the food is good but here the turkey is not very flavorful, the sausage is not very good and the Mac and cheese Ahmad too much bacon (they need an option without bacon). Overall a disappointment compared to Terry Blacks or Rudy s BBQ.

Wanted to thank Tabo for the awesome tour of the smokers. He was an excellent guide and has been with them for over a decade. He was extremely friendly and I was extremely impressed by the entire operation. The brisket melts in your mouth as you can tell they use the highest quality beef available. Make sure you save some room for all you can eat the homemade desserts. Highly recommended for anyone who loves bbq!

First time coming to a Quality BBQ Restaurant with a Drive-Thru. The service was very nice, food, OUTSTANDING!!! Their Texas Twinkie was delicious. My Son is a typical kid, picky, He ate up His Mac & Cheese & Potato Casserole in minutes. We tried their Loaded Potato, Pulled Pork, Brisket, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, Jalapeño Beans, French Fries, EVERYTHING WAS SO TASTY!!! Cannot wait to come back.

I felt like impersonating james brown and singing so good, so good! Mr Hurchin, I saw your picture in the restaurant with the fire in the background. You must have worked incredibly hard in the TX heat to get the taste as good as it is. I now salute you as an expert pitboss. I knew by walking down the street and smelling the smoke that your bbq was going to be good, but it far exceeded my expectations. I need to come back and try EVERYTHING on the menu. (Not all at once because my cardiologist would probably freak out.). I cant believe your rating is only a 4.7. Who are the crazy people scoring you lower? They must not be Texans! Dietary restrictions: Who gives a flying cow? Its bbq!

Fantastic atmosphere and display of the smokers/grills out front. I also enjoyed the cutting of the meat right in front of me. I couldn t give it a 5 star because I wasn t all that impressed with the brisket. I would ve liked more seasoning and juicy. The beef ribs were good though. If you re looking for Texas BBQ it s worth a stop by.

It you are short on time do not come to this location! Its extremely busy. One of the major issues I have with this establishment is the bacon on everything including the sides. I dont eat pork or beef so I came for the smoked turkey (Very good) or the bbq chicken ( which is not shredded or sliced, only quartered). Also the boq sauce was definitely lacking. So the lack of forward thinking when it pertains to peoples religion or personal preferences are appalling at the least. The ambiance was ok at best! kid and family friendly. Overall I would probably try a different bbq establishment on my next trip. Again the food was amazing, just the options are very limited for a restaurant in 2024.

Based on the texture of the meat, it had sat under a heat lamp way too long, as it was hard without much flavor. It seems like they used flawed or overcooked brisket pieces of meat and then chopped it finely. I was very disappointed. The potato salad was good. I took two bites from the sandwich and sat it to the side. If I lived closer this sandwich would have been returned. Please do not prepare the chopped beef sandwiches with old or overcooked meat. We pay too much for the food for sun-standard meat!!

I recently visited Hutchins BBQ in Texas, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere set the stage for a truly outstanding meal. The brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a perfect smoky crust that melted in my mouth, while the ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious and generously coated with a tangy, sweet barbecue sauce. The sides, including the creamy mac n cheese and the crispy, golden fries, complemented the meat perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. Hutchins BBQ delivers an exceptional barbecue experience that s well worth every star.

Was taken here, as I was told this was one of Dallas best bbq places. First, Ill complain: they were outta beef ribs . Its really had to find a place that does them, so I was bummed they were gone. MAIN: I got the chopped beef brisket potato, and they know how to smoke brisket, ya. It was tender and didnt need sauce. I will say my potato was a little under, but I was given a mound of brisket that def made up for it. SIDES: As I dont eat pork by personal choice for heath reasons, I was sad that the sides were litter with it. I did not realize it was in the mac and cheese I got, which was sad as it was creamy and cheesy like I liked, but stopped eating it once I noticed the tiny pork bits. You can see in the pic the little red dots I originally thought was red bell pepper. Fried okra was bomb. I was worried it wouldnt be crisp as its cafeteria style and not fresh fried, but either the batch just came out or they knew how to keep it crispy. I had a bite of my friends broccoli salad, which was good, and my coworker gave me a bite of the Texas Twinkie. Yall they stuffing jalapenos with brisket and cream cheese. It was good, but once again, hold the bacon the twinkle was wrapped in. Im not sure if there was bacon in the broccoli salad, tho. But it was in the green beans, which is why I got the mac. But ce la vie. DESSERT: A nice touch is if you eat inside, they have free self serve icecream, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. First I wanna say idk who was in that kitchen, but that was not peach cobbler...it was a slurry of peaches and like someone poured watery biscuit mix on top, threw it in the oven and did not pray over it. All Im saying is someone was def experimenting w the concept of cobbler... HOWEVER, that banana pudding could not have been made by the same person. It was good. I almost had to go to the kitchen and demand the banana pudding person be in charge of all desserts. The self-serve ice cream was your standard frozen treat. Its not creamy, but itll do the job. Final note, Since dessert was free, Im not considering it in my overall rating as that cobbler would have taken out a star. Also, the fact that bacon was everything is my personal preference, so Im leaving that out but did put a note for any vegetarian friends out there looking to join their omnivores/carnivor friends... bring your own veggies, lol. Vegetarian options: Vegetarians, dont go, bacon is everywhere, BUT its a bbq place, so expect meat on/in the sides.

This is my favorite BBQ place! Hutchins is the best BBQ in north Texas, with the awards to prove it. The line is always out the door, and the drive-thru is very busy. Prices are on the high side, but they are worth it! I had the brisket sandwich and original sausage with macaroni and cheese and green beans for sides, husband had the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was fantastic! Everything was juicy and full of flavor, exactly what youd expect from good Texas BBQ. The Texas Twinkie and stuffed jalapeño peppers are a unique must try. Excellent customer service from the team at the carving station and cash register. Hutchins also offers complimentary peach cobbler and banana pudding. Definitely worth a visit when in the McKinney/Frisco area. Vegetarian options: No, its a BBQ joint Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome

Im not sure how one location can be so radically different from another, but the Mckinney store, to me, was like a totally different level of food than the Frisco location. Night and day difference. Maybe my last 2 visits to Frisco were a fluke. McKinneys food was spectacular, and based on that location, I can see how they are a ranked TX BBQ joint. The Frisco location I pretty much tore apart in my review it was so mediocre. Well done, Mckinney. Absolutely incredible food from the twinkies to the brisket to pulled pork (and fyi... I hate pork, but I tried it here based on a recommendation, and it was good. The sides were pretty good. Tater salad was excellent. Beans lacked any depth of flavor. Pro tip... get extra texas twinkies, grab some HEB house made tortillas. Slice up the extra twinkies, scramble some eggs, and have a helluva good breakfast taco the next morning.
