The best part about Barrons is the bar, and the best part of the bar is Todd, the bartender. Hes knowledgeable about spirits, and understands mixology. I trust him to make a proper cocktail more than anyone else (other than me). On top of that, hes friendly and truly wants you to have a good experience. No thorough consideration of the restaurant/bar scene in Longview is complete without a visit to Barrons (excellent food, BTW) and Todd Wallingford.

We totally love this place. For many reasons. Drinks are incredible Tod is a very nice person and wonderful bartender. He makes a delicious old fashioned and he has always been tremendous to our son. Our son is autistic and everyone at Baroons has been always amazing to him. He loves the tomato basil soup, crispy brousels sprouts, the parmesan fries.

Cafe Barron s is always a wonderful place to eat. The food and service are excellent. However, our experience tonight was disturbed by a family that had absolutely no control of their 2 year old child. He screamed the entire time they were in the restaurant. The parents did nothing. The child scattered food all over their booth. When they left the servers had a difficult job in getting the table ready for the next guest. I believe Barron s needs to implement a minimum age for a child to be able to be in the restaurant.

Everyones food was great, service was great. Atmosphere was nice even though we were seated by the kitchen doors, which is usually not the best seat. All the employees were quiet and efficient. Prices were reasonable and the food was well prepared.

Inattentive bartender to busy not being behind the bar. Reeked of cigarette smoke when he returned. I get this is a more classy place but a bartender who is rude, sarcastic and a snob but smells like an ash tray is a turn off. Receipt had name listed as Todd. I ll try another night with a different bartender.

Bartender (bald guy) was just plain rude. Not only was he rude to us for coming up to the bar for a drink but, he was also blatantly rude to other workers waiting for drinks. Food was ok our server was the only saving grace. Don t think I ll recommend or return based on the attitude from the bartender.

Ive been here before. Its a good spot, but Ive been turned away on Saturday nights when I show up at their bar for a drink at 9pm. I understand that the kitchen closes, but the bar should stay open. I got the pork tenderloin with potatoes and asparagus this day. It was good, but the portions were small.

BAD experience on a Saturday night with a party of 21 they had known about for two weeks per reservation. ONE bartender for not only our party -but for the ENTIRE restaurant. When we walked in, he had a look of terror on his face and immediately took a break for 20 minutes. It took 30 minutes to get water, 25 more minutes for finally our cocktails- they brought out three at a time for people who had ordered them. They were not prepared for us even though we had the reservation. Food at best was mediocre. Would never return and I urge anyone reading this-go anywhere but here. Very stressful way to spend money for what should have been a nice evening.

Best food Ive had at a restaurant In a very long time. Great staff and excellent service. Laid back atmosphere. Nice and cozy. Daniel is one of their cooks and really does an awesome job plating the food, cooking it exactly as it should be so that it tastes perfect and also having it finished and in front of you in a timely manner. 5 stars. Kamma has worked hard to make that place what it is these days and her staff as well. Great place. Highly recommended.

Very disappointing experience!! My husband and I had reservations for 515. We arrived and there was only one other table seated, yet we were seated at a table crammed up against the wall. No big deal, we just pulled it out and sat down. Our waitress was very dry, no greeting at all. We were starving so we ordered mushrooms for appetizers with our drinks. They were out of sweet tea, crab cakes, grits. While waiting on appetizer, rap music comes blaring from the kitchen, along with loud talking and cursing. I have been to Barron s many times, but never in the evening. The atmosphere was completely different and unacceptable! Our mushrooms arrive, and I could instantly see they were different because it s my favorite thing on the menu and I order it every time. I take a bite and they clearly have chili in the stuffing! I cannot make this up . I asked my husband to try one, and he confirmed it tasted like canned chili!!! What is going on? We came in for a quiet evening to a classier place that usually has higher standards, but this was completely unbelievable. We asked for the check and got up to leave. The ONLY decent thing done, Todd refused to charge us anything and offered a free meal next time. He was very nice, but I doubt we ll ever return. The music and shouting could be heard from the bar where he was serving customers. We don t mind spending money for a good meal and tipping well, but for these prices, y all missed the mark in a major way. Chili In mushrooms and blaring music?? God bless y all.

The fish was good. The service was terrible. The food took forever to arrive and the vegetables and potatoes were room temp at service. The waitress must have been having a really bad night as she was not friendly and bordered on rude when taking our orders. She never checked on us once the food arrived, never filled our drinks until we were ready to leave and asked for the check, there was trash on the floor from the moment we walked in that was never picked up, and there were tables that remained dirty and un-waited during our entire meal. My empty salad bowl also remained on our table throughout the meal. I normally START tipping at 20% as I know from experience how hard waiting tables can be. Tonight, I left 10% and that, I felt, was overly generous. We were hoping to find a nice place for special occasion meals. We ll keep looking.

Made reservations for 745. The place wasnt as packed as I anticipated considering it was Valentines weekend. Shocked when we were sat at a tiny, corner table behind some doors that literally faced the wall. My Husbands view was a wall. Running joke of the night was, Nobody puts baby in a corner. Service was a bit slow and we were told why several times by our waiter. Food was excellent though. We decided to cut our time short and split an entree just to Save on time. Maybe we will try another time.

Had my first visit at Cafe Barrons a couple days ago. Was there with a large Real Estate group about 25 or so. Generally the service was good, as was the food. Although I did not actually get what I ordered. Still it was good. Had a choice of chicken or fish. I chose the fish. Was oven backed and breaded. Heard the chicken was tough from a couple people. There were covid-19 precautions anywhere that I could see. The wait staff was good but it didnt seem great to me and could have been a lot better. I would want to actually visit again without a large group of people and just have it a couple of us. Then see what the service and food is like. It seemed as though the atmosphere was probably better outside the main conference room where I was seated so I really couldnt even say much for the true atmosphere but I have a feeling its better than what I experienced. I will plan to go back and try it again one day. Im not even sure what else is on the menu other than Fish and Chicken. Would be interesting to find out. If youre in the area, give them a try see what you think of them.

The food was very tasty, until I got toward the end of my lunch and noticed a bug in the salad. Ugh. Pointed it out to staff. He took my plate, and didnt even acknowledge it much less provide any kind of apology. Further, service was very slow, even though the place wasnt packed, and did not seem understaffed. The server was polite as I expected in Texas, but a cup of coffee shouldnt sit empty. Its also a good idea to check on the quality of the food promptly, not after 25 minutes. The crab sandwich had a disgusting texture and little flavor , my wifes chicken had zero flavor. They need to use spices and understand texture. Mush in your mouth is not pleasant. And Cafe is usually associated with having a breakfast, but I guess thats my bad. Update, owner is obviously a liar, no one ever offered to remake our food nor was my plate clean. The server apologized for the meal.. Period. I seriously feed my cat better than the food we were served today.

I miss this place. I was a small child in Longview. This is the heart of where my love for reading transformed. It was the height of sophistication when my mom would take me here for lunch-- a rare treat. Her graphic design professor is who painted the gorgeous murals I see are still on the front. Super friendly, but not loud and boisterous, was consistently attentive. I had the Hot and crunchy fish, she had the pork loin. I followed with the tiramisu, she had the crem brulee. Everything was consistent and on point.

Excellent food and nice decor. Made reservations for a Saturday night but didn t really need it, the customer service was good but it s the food that will bring me back wanting more! I had the filet and scallops, cooked to perfection!

This place is amazing! Kamma the evening manager is top notch, and runs a great cafe. Jason was our waiter and did his job to perfection. The food was delicious, hot and served in a timely manner. We were not rushed, and these folks made our meal an event! You want a nice, relaxed, comforting, delicious dinner experience? Cafe Barrons should be your choice!

As always the food was excellent. The wait staff excellent. But I personally dont want to hear Jimmy Hendricks Purple Haze as I am eating at what I consider a high end establishment. Hard rock, pop rock not what I would choose.

I love dining at Café Barrons! Have been going there for years and have never had a bad meal. I went there with a work colleague yesterday for lunch and the meal was fantastic! Our server was also terrific and very attentive. Some of my favorites are the café pasta, hot n crunchy chicken, crab cakes, and the bison burger. Give them a try - you will not be disappointed.
