VERY interesting historical story started here. Not much to see but an open field, a stack of pipe and a marker unfortunately.

The marker is interesting, but I believe it is miles away from the place where the pipeline began. I was a child living near where the Big Inch project was started, and I believe the actual pipeline began west of Longview near where Highway 42 crosses the Sabine River. Does someone have more specific information about the actual location of the pipeline?
