I used to come here pretty often because my food would always be hot and fresh. My last 3 visits has been the opposite. It taste like my food has been sitting under the light for a while. Chewy and kind of dry. I noticed the portion size has been less. For $15 id expect more than a small amount of fries.

CHECK YOUR ORDER! Just went through the drive through and when I got home my wife was short a chicken strip. When we order 2 meals, 8 total strips, it comes out to almost $3 a strip and we were shorted one. Thats $3 I lost. It was my wifes first time and now she is a fan of Raising Canes because they never short her food. Now I have to pay more money per meal because I doubt shell ever want to goto Laynes again and Raising Canes is pricey.

UPDATE::::: WOW 1. I was having an issue with getting the app to allow me to redeem a meal so I had to pull forward and Eric greeted us at the window with a bright smile and asked how he could help me! 2. He went through and obtained the information he needed and our meals were zoomed out (including straws and napkins)! I had planned for my daughter to join us, but I instead introduced Laynes to our HR director who is A NEW FAN Layne s > Canes for the win AGAIN The chicken was seasoned perfectly! The toast was garlic toasty - not soggy!! I got my delicious XL chocolate shake in ..MY MOST FAVORITE PLASTIC CUP!!!! Giving the Finger y all 3. I have my FAVORITE plastic cups back and so excited about this! 4. I saw bright and smilin Daniel and he said Hi He remembered me . This visit was a complete 180 from the last and woooohoooooo! We re BACK babyyyy!!! Thank you. Seriously. Thank you. **************************************** Initial review .. Absolutely disheartened by this location the last 3 visits. I drive a good distance to come to Layne s. This time I would have left a 5* review if Daniel would have been at the window; however, there was a less than lively, young female working the window when we pulled through to purchase our initial two 5 piece meals. She seemed confused about everything we asked. We order large drinks every time we visit as I enjoy the plastic cups :) Unfortunately she told us that Laynes no longer has those. There was even confusion over drink sizes for some reason. She handed us our meals, with no straws and no napkins. We had to pull around and go in to get the missing necessities. Not really what you want to do when you are grabbing meals in a drive thru. After we ate the meals, we pulled back through to order 3 more 5 piece meals and an XL shake. This time Daniel greeted with a warm smile and an awesome, personable interaction! Our meals came out, straws in hand, added on a shake and received it promptly! My husband and I just left the drive thru. We wanted to try something different. First time at this establishment and the very last. The young lady who was taking our order was dry and very nonchalant. Is that it? Anything else? Once we pulled around, we realized she probably should go home or take a break. Not the attitude or behavior for a store front. My husband and I enjoyed our food, but we wont be back. It cost nothing to smile. Especially when we were the positive ones.

Easily the best of the chicken fast food chains. Their fried chicken is crispy but still tender& moist. And it has flavor whereas others are bland. The spicy chicken has a decent amount of heat. If you like crispy fries over limp fries, Laynes served them. And they have a variety of sauces and more menu options compared to the others.

Food is great. Cooked perfectly. Fries are crunchy & salty. The chicken is crispy & flavorful (the spicy tender). Prices are super reasonable. The shakes are good as well. It def feels like an upscale fast food for lunch /dinner. You have options for dipping such as jalapeño ranch, buttermilk ranch, laynes original sauce. They also have chicken wrap which I would try next time. The toasted bread that comes with the meal is on point. The guy at the drive thru was super helpful & kind on Friday. Didnt have to wait long for our food. Vegetarian options: French fries, shakes. Not many options for vegetarians. Would not recommend.

This was our first time here as we dont have a Laynes Chicken near us. The place was clean. The cashier wasnt the friendliest but wasnt rude either. I got the 3 finger meal and switched the fries for potato salad and the Layne sauce for jalapeño ranch. Our food came out quickly and was very tasty. I especially like the seasoning on the chicken. I also enjoyed the potato salad. Its a mayo base and delicious. The mens restroom was clean and the hot water worked well. When we are in this area again, well be sure to stop by.

-Interior: meticulously cleaned, spacious, and well laid out overall. -Service: good. Service was friendly. -Food: spicy chicken is akin to Nashville hot. Very peppery/salty, but not spicy. Not a minus, but a heads up for the curious. Portions are OK, but on borderline of eh given the price point. Taste was...ok? The seasoning was there, I think, but that was about it. The biggest issue I had here is with the food coming out from the kitchen at room temperature. The chicken and fries felt like they had been sitting outside for 20 minutes despite coming out from the kitchen in under 5. I dont know if someone forgot to turn on a heat lamp or what, but it made for a very disappointing meal. Visually, it also gave off the impression of being old in the way that fried oily food looks wet/soggy when its been sitting out for a long time. If this rating was on food alone it would be a 1 star. But the service and interior raises the overall to 3. Im sure it was just a fluke, but for the amount I paid, vs what I got...not worth it in the slightest.

Our first visit and there will be more visits in our future. The big debate: Laynes or Canes? Laynes is definitely the winner! Everything is better, chicken, fries, toast and sauces. You have sauce choices! And they have good tea. If you dont eat fried foods, they have a wrap and a grilled cheese on the menu. Laynes cooks to order, no old chicken sitting around waiting to be served. Service was friendly and efficient. Wed choose Laynes over other chicken tenders everyday!

The quality of the food is just as good as the college station locations, if not better. The only issues are the portion sizes as well as the prices. The portion sizes are much smaller than the college station locations and much more expensive. A 5 finger combo is about $14 which is much more than Canes and other chicken restaurants. It is however in an expensive area. The food is really good which kind of makes up for it. There is also a large variety of sauces which is nice and the restaurant was very well maintained.

The costumer service today from the white boy at the window was horrible . The guy almost threw the food in my car because he was so annoyed with his job. The chicken fingers were the driest I ever tasted and I drove 20 min just for this to be the outcome

I tried Laynes for the first time on July 19 and returned on July 21 for another visit, so I guess is clear I enjoyed the food. Everything was fresh and the staff was friendly. Would absolutely recommend the Lewisville, TX location.

Extremely disappointing! I have always been the BIGGEST Laynes fan and advocate. After I graduated in 2019, Ive only had Laynes once since then in 2020. I have sorely missed it. After getting put in a hotel next to the airport, I had Laynes delivered to me because I just couldnt wait to have it again! But the chicken strips were very short, no potato salad was provided, they give you way less fries than they used to and the sauce tasted SOUR! Yes you heard that right, it was SOUR. Lastly, the food was cold when it arrived. I am sooooo sad the quality of Laynes has stooped so low from where it used to be. It was always my favorite. I NEVER thought I would say this, but just go to Canes instead. :(

The last two times we went here the fries smelled incredibly foul/tasted so bad we spit them out (like something out of a dirty porta potty). The food smelling foul to the point of everyone in the car throwing out their fries (which is a VERY small portion for $14+) Somethings happening with their quality control. Its so bad im concerned someone is back there messing the food up on purpose because this food was once amazing!

This was the first time ordering from this restaurant chain. I went through the drive-thru and it appeared to be the same concept as Raising Canes, but most expensive without the coleslaw. The fingers are smaller and less filling to the appetite. I think I would rather stick with the original creator. Canes just a smarter buy. If you mimic a brand, you should offer something significantly different, and or something extra spectacular to wow the customer that would make them crave your brand. Yall missed the mark. Sorry, but not sorry. Well will not be back..

Tried this place the other day because my nephew compared it to Canes. He said he thought it was better, so as soon as he said that, I knew I needed to try this place. It was pretty good! My family and I ordered the family meal/pack and it was ready for us in no time which was awesome. The different sauces were very good, the chicken was nice and crispy, the fries were cooked well and the toast was very yummy and buttery. Only downside was that the chicken seemed to have a lil bit of an overall greasy/oily taste that took over a bit at times. That definitely threw me off. We also ordered some spicy strips and they barely had any kick to them. Maybe thats our taste buds tho The workers were also very patient and kind which was great.

The service here is absolutely absurdly amazing beyond what i was expecting on the walk in literally melted my heart. The staff was utterly impeccable, but especially the 5 8 curly headed Palestinian Mohammad Aldabaja. He stopped everything he was doing to make sure i came in and left satisfied. Great guy I just admit. Would munch again!
