Checking for places to have a baby shower first thought was Hedrick house, well to my surprise I was quoted 6550.00 for the day, was informed they do not rent it out it is now a All-inclusive venue, managed by a company Varcarra but owned and maintained by the city of Lewisville, so now the residents can t rent for small parties as in the past, the person that has messaged me said they have been managing for 13-15 years from reading reviews doesn t look like it will be worth 6550. Can t bring any food or drinks they said they provide it all. Guess be going highland village to rent, at 6550 Lewisville is making some good revue off this the Hedrick House no longer rec center

We had a babyshower there today and it was HOT!! There are no vents on the big party side. The temperature was perfect on the kitchen side. Our guest were covered in sweat by the time it was done. They definitely need to look into that. The temperature outside was cooler then inside and it was a hot day today. If it werent for the A/C not working properly, it would have been a better review.

I was told about voting here & was so grateful for the information. Ive lived in Lewisville for 35 years & had never been here before. Beautiful grounds & facility. The election staff were all very helpful, thorough & followed excellent protocols to maintain a safe voting site & experience. Plus, it only took 20 minutes to vote in the 2020 Presidential election. Hedrick house is the perfect venue for sweet sixteen or elementary social. Not too big and the perfect size to fit a good 100 guests. Nestled in a Lewisville ,Texas subdivision it has explicit one way in and out access. You will only know about this place if someo e tells you about it more than likely. It feels like a small lodge with all the amenities. Again, about the only things I would do here are just like I said, small childrens parties and gatherings for food and cakes. There is a sizable dance area for people to move about and jump around. We used this house for my daughters sweet sixteen and it was a success. This place provided the perfect setup. Give it a shot and take extra care in the planning of your event. We had a midnight curfew which was good for the kids.

I know it s a recreation center and there shouldn t be much expectations given the fact that it is not a wedding venue. With that being said for the City of Lewisville facility manager Konni R. Cooper (whatever position she has) to be very picky about cleaning up and leaving the venue as is. There were dead roaches in the drawers on the bigger side where the dressing room was, the smaller dressing room had looked like no one has swept in there in a few weeks, there were HUGE carpet stains that look like they have been there forever, there was a collection of hangers in the dressing room from previous occasions, (I would guess; by the way that is gross and not sanitary) I could go on and on but I will stop there. Also there was a leak in the women s restroom which could have occurred since there was no running water the day prior and it did freeze over night. I got a letter from Konni R. Cooper wanting to bill me for more hours. In the contract I DO NOT see where it reads that I will be charged additional hours! It only shows that I will forfeit my deposit. Get it together and stop trying to rip off people. I know for a fact that we left the venue spotless compared to how it was given to us. Rent at your own risk. I definitely will not recommend this location to anyone and will sure not return EVER!

My wedding was about 100ish people . we all fit comfortably inside the building for the reception, and getting ready in the dressing rooms. The kitchen was the perfect size. The building and outside area were perfect to decorate and make my own. The place was very clean and any concern we had managment was able to respond in a helpful , and timely manner. (:

Attended a Bridal Shower here. Place is beautiful however bride to be was a little upset that the night before wedding didnt clean up after themselves. The cleaning people didnt show up before her event and she had to clean the place up before her own even in a nice expensive dress. Spilt beer on herself in the process. The wedding party shows up AFTER her event and makes a scene. But management worked with them in the end.

My cousin Chris was married here. It was a nice day for a wedding and a nice place to hold a wedding. They have a full kitchen, the dining room holds probably less than 100 people. The outside area was great for taking pictures and could host weddings and other events outside as well.
