UPDATE 5/27 - Spent the week here once more for Memorial Day weekend and low and behold they were enforcing a lot of their ordinances. Even their website had been updated with notices of what will not be tolerated, loud music is now on the list. Yipee. So I upgraded my overall rating to a 4. As stated below, if they had full hookups at each site, they would get a 5 rating. ------------ Nice. Campground and staff is quite friendly. Park host was new and he was visiting with most RV ers. Some sites are spacious and others are stacked next to each other. The biggest drawback is the day park. It is a EXTREMELY busy day park, especially on the weekends which in and of itself is not the bad part. The bad part is you have to listen to Spanish or rap music most evenings and on the weekends. Lewisville has a noise ordinance but doesn t appear to be enforced. Sometimes it s so loud I cannot hear the people I m talking to on the phone or when watching TV. Strange thing is the park ranger lives in the park and his RV must really have good insulation cause you d think he would shut that stuff down. You will love the park if you like Spanish or rap music and you want to have a personal DJ. The park has water and electric hookups and has a dump station within the campground. I gave 5 stars on location, 4 stars on service (would give 5 if they had hookups for sewage at the site), and 3 stars overall due to loud music that is not being enforced. Nearby activities: Great water access if you have water toys or fishing. Next to several 18 hole golf courses.

The male staff is cordial and professional. The female manger is unpleasant. Here s why: we come in 3 hours early and she denies us check in. The problem? She did that with several guests who either made reservations or to see a spot available. There were at least 10 guests with trailers or Vans/motor homes. When it came time to check in, everyone who waited formed a gaggle and became upset. It got out of control quickly. The reason why I was upset is because she changed our spot after we reserved one. We were in line again and were asked to go back (even with a reservation. I refused since the line was long and people were growing impatient. My point, instead of her being willing to work with guests, she chose to be rude, unprofessional, and unfriendly. When it came time for her to check in guests, she tried making excuses to me why she can t do her job. I remained silent and waited for her to her job. My point, she caused issues that were unnecessary. She should not be there. If you see her? Avoid her, expect poor customer service, and good luck.

Weve been here for the 14 day maximum, including two full weekends. No problems at all Monday through Friday, but both weekends were quite unpleasant because of the music being blasted in the park areas just outside the RV area. Around sunset, the first Saturday we were here, 5-6 Lewisville Police Department cruisers lined up behind us with lights flashing and per a loudspeaker, it was stated the park was closed and everyone was ordered to leave. The next day, at about the same time, the police presence wasnt as intensive, but my recollection is there was some sort of law enforcement vehicle(s) going around with lights flashing, instructing people to leave, as was the case on Saturday evening, the following weekend. However, today (Sunday), no park rangers or police officers did anything and as a result the music kept blasting until well after dark. Otherwise, the park is well worth the $10 per night we paid as seniors.

Nice campground close to the metroplex with easy access to I-35E. Spots are older asphalt that is partially overgrown with grass. Had to make a minor adjustment to get my rv level but not bad. It was very dark when I arrived so backing into the spot I had (#4) was a little challenging because its situated between two trees. Good experience overall and would stay again.

We stayed a week in October. Park is nice, quiet, on the lake (obviously). Our RV spot was a little unlevel with some asphalt chunks missing or holes, but we managed just fine. Looks like some people live there full time. Lane is close to walk, area is restricted to campers only, so no through traffic. The other was very right, but no FHU.

To bad I cant give a zero. Last year and the two times I stayed before were nothing like this. The two ladies here are campground Nazis. I called twice and spoke to them. They knew I was here to see my daughter who lives in Lewisville as I have before. They said it was okay and I gave them my license plate number for my one vehicle (my class C) They said there was no problem her visiting me for dinner. When she arrived they didnt give her a parking pass and made her leave and park off the property. Meanwhile half the people here have more than one vehicle. So she had to walk half a mile into the campground to have dinner with me. The rule is visitors need a parking pass. They refused her one for no reason. They knew where she was going and there isnt a rule that says you cant have a visitor. My dogs could not be out of my RV unless I had their leashes in my hand. Dog pens are not allowed, smoking is not allowed (Im not a smoker) but seriously outside people cant smoke and apparently you cannot have visitors come see you while youre on vacation. Your dogs cant lay on their mats with their leashes on outside your RV. This would be a nice place if it werent for the campground Nazis. Horrible staff.

Lake Park Campground Lewisville . Where do I start . Do NOT stay here. Hard to get thru on the phone to a live person. Office closed early on the Friday we arrived. Threatened with late fee if we were not at office at 11 am when they open..even though they advertise the office opens at 10. Check in time is after 3 even though they advertise earlier on website. Friends tried to come visit but they wouldn t let them come in and park even though lots of room to do so and they had a handicap placard. Seems they make up their own rules. Make you stand outside the office when paying because of Covid seriously? Won t let anyone book last minute even with availability. We will not stay here again. Rude office people and made up rules that are different than advertised. Campground is empty on a holiday weekend. I can understand why. City of Lewisville needs to look into this as they are losing money unless they just don t care?

Great park and amenities. Staff is very grumpy and rude. There is maybe one or two female staff members that are nice and not cold. The lady that is the only one that takes payment is the most rude. Short with her words, not welcoming and hard to get a hold of. I would return again and again with my kids but will not be coming back due to the hateful personalities that work here. There is also a definite difference in how they treat people if you are over the age of 50. If under the age, they do not see you as worth it. Rules also apply to only some and not to ones that they favorite.

I stayed in spot 83. They are doing some upgrades to the electrical so half the spots are not available. I was lucky enough to get a spot for a few nights and the price is right. Seniors its even a better rate. The spot I was in was narrow but because its in the back on the end there is lots of space around it. The wi-fi is hit or miss it may be better in a spot closer to the office. Most nights it was non-existent. I had to use my hot spot. The staff is very friendly. The bathrooms need some updating and are extremely hot (at least in the back area). The shower I used was more like a power washer you will be clean. There are no sewer hook-ups but the dump station is spacious and has a few hook-up areas so more than one person can use the area at a time. They also have an area there to recycle paper, plastic and aluminum cans so that is really nice. They do have a laundry area on site; however, I didnt visit it. When I arrived on Sunday, the Walleye Picnic Area across the street was hopping. Lots of commotion and loud music thumping. And the road was full of cruisers. However once it got dark it quieted right down. I did hear that its like that some weekends so you may want to prepare yourself for that. I did hear the music while inside my RV but again spot 83 is close to this area. The sunrises are gorgeous. And very worth staying here. Sunsets too. The location is great as well close to everything you may need. I would come back again. Note, the do lock the gates at night from 11pm - 6am. So, you do have a curfew while staying here. There is a huge issue with people trying to come through the campground to get to the lake. So, the staff has to stand guard at the gate turning them around even though there are clearly marked signs stating there is no access.

This place really needs some attention. Fire pits all full of trash, lots of weeds, utilities in a swamp of standing water (including electric) NO SEWER the pavement is uplifted so badly that only 3/4ths of the space is useable. The space next to us had dirty underwear laying on the ground, 4 or 5 large black garbage bags full of trash outside, swarming with flies and several bags of trash stuffed also in the overflowing bbq. No one obviously cleans up after each person or makes sure any rules are followed. No grass on my site, mostly mud and weeds. This place could be great if it was taken care of . Some money needs to be put into leveling pavement and utilities. Camp hosts lovely

I don t recommend this place at all! The park ranger is beyond racist and prejudice. My husband and I had a reservation in place for today-Sunday. Our RV was parked in the parking lot outside the park until we could check in. Our water hose connection was dripping some water and the park ranger claimed it was dripping black water. He then went to the lady at the front office and told her to not let us enter due to it leaking. When my husband entered the park and was told he couldn t enter due to the leak, he told her he had fixed the issue himself and to take a look and she refused. She then demanded proof (a receipt of some sort) that the leak had been fixed. How is he suppose to show proof when he fixed the issue himself?? Makes absolutely no sense. So we are now unable to stay there even tho the leak is fixed and no longer leaking. The park ranger even walks around and has nothing better to do but put warning stickers on everyone s cars that are parked outside the park. It s ridiculous and not necessary.

Cool area and near the pretty lake and downtown old Lewisville, but the old lady running the front is ridiculously strict with every single policy. There are no online reservations so you have to call and spell everything out over the phone and they will only allow you to make one reservation at a time with a limit of 14 days. No sewer as well. If you get there at 150pm and check in is at 2pm and your spot is open they will direct you to an adjacent parking lot and tell you to come back at 2pm. If this were an actual business and not a bureaucrat run fiefdom I think it would be much better. I would pay twice as much to stay here if I could check in online, never interact with the lady up front and pull into my spot without hassle if nobody was in it.

Nice enough campground right by Lewisville Lake. Our site was a bit short, requiring a bit of work to get a level set-up. Biggest complaint was the strict and unreasonable enforcement of rules. Campers next to us were forced to move 1 site over although there were plenty of vacant spots. 2 friends visiting for the day were forced to leave and park down the street as there is no visitor parking allowed. We had to go pick them up & take them back to their car as our friend was unable to walk that far. Staff spent time driving around in golf cart looking for infractions. This was the end of a month long trip and this was the only park we stayed in with such difficulty.

When asked to park and pay for a drive thru spot the final night so we could hook up and be ready to travel as soon as gates open at 6am were told it s against the policy to move camp sights, and would probably be ticketed if we had vehicle in road. Campground needs a lot of maintenance but you can t complain for that price. It s a state park, so I doubt any of the maintenance required will be done. Also be aware you have a very aggressive park ranger, who will be more than happy to write a warning, put a sticker on your car or give you a court summons if you park within the park and don t have a parking pass. If you have any visitors they have to park 1/2 mile away in the soccer feels public parking. Which seems ridiculous when The park is practically empty. Sorry to say that because of that park ranger, i will not be returning to this park.

Beautiful location, level, spacious site. All sites are water and electric only, but theres a very convenient dump station on site. Close to stores. Easy access to 35E freeway. Staff was helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were closed but laundry is open. This is our second time camping here and well definitely go back. Lots of trees and easy access to Lake Lewisville. Great area for walking and biking.

We have stayed here a number of times in the last three years. Previous stays were always uneventful. Unfortunately there are new campground attendants who are rude and unhelpful. The office is not staffed regularly, the sign says out on property. Whos property? Nowhere to be seen in the campground. The female zooms around in a golf cart to openly and loudly chastise residents for imagined violations. I believe her favorite is You blew through the stop sign and are driving way too fast., thats a legal stop sign and I could have them write you a ticket. This happened to my wife and our neighbors, but from what I observed no one blew through anything and wasnt driving fast. I believe these caretakers are temporary and will be gone soon, hopefully to be replaced by someone with a calmer attitude and better customer service. We were contemplating buying her a broom with a flashing red light attached to replace the golf cart, but Amazon was sold out.

Turned away at the gate so I cant comment on the facilities. However, the unreasonable enforcement of having our vehicle registered is why I give them one star. Im from Florida and Florida DMV offices are only operating via appointments (3-4 weeks out right now). So we traveled to DFW to visit family and friends in the meantime. I have proof of my appointment to register my newly bought RV, plus insurance, bill of sale, and title. Sorry!!!, they tell me. They dont have the compassion at this park to let you stay unless that registration is DONE! So Im done with Lake Park.

If I could give a zero star I would. We made reservations at this site only to be turned away upon arrival. During these difficult COVID times we purchased our RV to be able to travel to see my father who does not have that much time with us. After the purchase we had to make an appointment to register it. The soonest appointment was 3 weeks away. With help from the officials, we had carried with us ALL our documentation: title, insurance, and an official printout from the DMV with our APPOINTMENT date for registration. With all this legal documentation; which is perfectly acceptable by any state patrol or law enforcement, we were told by the staff that without the finished registration( which we are unable to get yet) we were not welcome. You would think with common sense and compassion for the times we are in, they would have seen it in their hearts to not turn us away to try to find a last minute Reservation at 5 pm. Nope. Leave is what we were told. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Its clear they have cleaned this campground up over the past few years. Couple notes worth mentioning... The city has limited the size of trailers to specific parking spots, which in turn has caused campers to be turned away while other size spots sit empty. Also there is not enough parking places for personal vehicles including guest that visit.

A great RV park adjacent to Lewisville Lake. A city of Lewisville owned and managed park. Really inexpensive to stay there, either one night or up to 29 days. It really could use some cleaning and maintenance done on the property. Photos show mens shower up by the office and laundry area, and one of the picnic tables at one of the premium spots. Both require an up to date tetanus inoculation. The city should raise the camping fee a couple of dollars to help defray the cost. We stayed in a motorhome and would gladly stay there again, even if they raised the camping fees.

I had a long day at work and just wanted some alone time to eat my dinner at the lake and because employees cut corners and closed the gate ten minutes early seeing a vehicle at the lake and being negligent. I had to wait 30 minutes for a non emergency officer to get me out of the park. If I was here after hours I would easily get a ticket for $125. I work in retail and if I closed up ten minutes early I d get fired. There are open and close hours for a reason everywhere. You want residence to respect the rules stop being lazy and close when the policy says.

I honestly thought about saying I would give this facility less than one star, but the truth is, I want to be objective and not allow personal feelings to lead my review to be a grumble fest. I do however find it important to let others know how terribly treated we were by the supervisor/and or owner and overall unforgiving policies within the organization. Ill start with the positive and later end on a positive, I like to see the glass half full. When we began our process to reserve our site over the phone, the employee we spoke with was super sweet and extremely helpful and polite. Awesome, we were on our way to staying at a really nice campground that offers pretty decent pricing...We arrived around 10:55 PM ready to set up and crash from a long day of work and travel. One more positive before I head into the negative and warning to others. The host who was watching the gate and check-ins that night was really awesome. They patiently and kindly attempted to get us checked in when we arrived when it was right before their time to leave for the night and lock up. They then went above and beyond for us when we discovered our vehicle registration was not even yet 24 hours overdue(expired 9/19-we arrived 10/1/19 at 10:55 PM), and she called her supervisor/and or the owner to ask if there was any way we could stay the night and take care of our registration concerns in the morning...well...from this experience Im led to believe there is absolutely no grace period from those who hold the higher ranks within the organization. ***I would also like to add, the entire reason we were even paying to stay somewhere was because we own a pet and wanted the electric to be able to keep them cool*** You may expect that I would next say they were reasonable and considerate and allowed us to stay since it was the end of the night and our registration was literally not even 24 hours overdue, but no...when the host called the supervisor/ and or owner they were firmly told no, with no discussion further. I dont at all believe the park to be unreasonable in requiring an up to date registration to your vehicle, this is not a part of my dissatisfaction. Its the fact that they were so unreasonable and felt the right thing to do was throw two people and a pet out onto the street(honestly, where were we going to be able to book a place to plug in at 11 PM). I commend the host that evening as they should not have been put in the position to turn someone away like that, they felt so badly and it was not their fault, they were doing their job and following the instructions of their supervisor/ and or the owner. And if the park had asked and required we take the vehicle immediately the next day to acquire our up-to-date registration, we would have happily and understandingly done so. To add insult to injury we were contacted the next day by the park asking if we had any further questions needing answered from our email inquiry the previous day before we reserved the spot, and they never once apologized for our being turned away the night before(even if they had said they needed to stick to the policy strictly, but they were at least sorry, that would have counted for something). So all in all, I dont see ourselves ever considering to reserve here again, there is at least one other beautiful and reasonably priced park near by. However, Im not necessarily going to deter others from staying, since there are very polite and caring staff who work there, despite the decisions of others, and the park itself is really nice, and the price isnt bad either. I just want to warn others to make sure you have EVERYTHING!!!!!! in order and in accordance to their policies perfectly, there doesnt seem to be any grace within their rules. Thank you to those who were helpful at Lake Park Campground!

Website shows options for tent and camper camping. We loaded up our family for an impromptu trip. When we got there the woman in the office was incredibly rude and snapped no tent camping here. I assumed I may have been in a camper designated area so brought my phone in to show her the website and ask her to direct me to the tent area. She was rude once again with very little info given. She had let us know that they stopped allowing tents 4 years ago but the website was never updated. Even if I had an RV or camper her personality would have made me promptly turn around anyways. Its worth the extra $5 to go to Cedar Hill State Park and its far more beautiful with competent and friendly staff.

But I think that was my fault. I encourage anyone coming to take advantage of the free dump to swing around on the far side, making sure to follow the address, if you dont have someone guiding you in. Dont make the same mistake I made. My view of the campground looked clean and just like the sort of place to come visit.
