Cute little bake shop in Leander. My girlfriend placed an order for a birthday cake for her sisters birthday. There were so many tasty options to choose from and placing the order was a smooth process. We provided some basic ideas of what we were looking for and let the shop take it from there. They provided a cute detailed sketch of the cake design and the final product looked better than we could of imagined. The birthday girl adored the cake and everyone bragged about it at the party. Truly talented decorators, friendly staff, and overall great tasting final product. Whether its just buying a few cake pops or ordering a custom cake, I could not recommend this bakeshop more. Dietary restrictions: Plenty of Gluten Free options to choose from.

My photos are from going two Fridays in a row. This place is 20 minutes from where I live, but I had to try the gluten free treats I saw online. The first time I went, I got the GF chocolate caramel cake in a cup (it had a hint of cinnamon/pumpkin spiciness), GF Samoa tart, gf cookies and cream cupcake (my favorite of the bunch), and gf pumpkin cream cheese muffin. I didnt order the cheese balls, because theyre made to order and would take 15 minutes. On my second trip, I planned to wait for it, and Im so happy I did. I ate it as soon as I got into my car and it was hot and delicious! My husband got to have one when I got back home and he said it was really good even though it was cold by then. I also ordered the gf chocolate chip cookies, GF oatmeal cookie sandwich (my favorite of this bunch), GF brigadeiro torte (second fave but really rich) and GF chocolate cupcake with pink frosting (strawberry? Cherry?). I will definitely be back for more!

I ordered a custom cake along with 10 cupcakes for a birthday party. The cupcakes were delicious, moist and perfect. The cake was surprisingly dry. It was a cake for 14 and cost 100.00. This was very disappointing. I would not order a cake from here again. On a positive note the staff was very kind and helpful both on the phone and in person.

Casa Costa is such a lovely little coffee shop and bakery. I love the atmosphere and how cozy it is. It has inviting music, friendly staff, and an approachable menu. It sets itself apart from the cool coffee shops where I feel like they have a gigantic, complicated menu and blasting techo. There are great options for both indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of shade. This is a great place for meeting up with friends or a business meeting alike. The bake shop has a good variety and all the cakes that come from here are absolutely stunning.

The staff was friendly. The food from the kitchen was okay, but this is subjective. Its a beautiful place for a mini brunch date. Down to two stars because flies were landing on the pastries being sold with no one doing anything about it. Make sure you get the pastries that are covered or skip them. Hopefully, the kitchen is a lot cleaner than the food at the front with flies.

This bakery rises above all the rest! I ve been enjoying Casa Costa for 3 years and always take visiting friends and family here to indulge in some of the best pastries I ve ever had in the states. Their wide assortment of pastries is impressive, with some of the best being the gluten free muffins which somehow taste even better (so moist and decadent!) than the non-GF ones. The GF pumpkin cream cheese muffin takes the gold star! You can t go wrong with any of the sweet pastries, but I especially love the apricot danish, coconut cream danish, Nutella banana turnover, GF chai muffin, GF blueberry muffin, and oatmeal cream cookie sandwich. The vanilla latte is also fantastic. Perfect place to go especially during nice weather since the outdoor seating is wonderful. Lots of space for kids to play on the lawn with the provided balls as well.

We booked Casa Costa Bake Shop to make our wedding cake. We had a stunning, three-tier cake white in color with rose gold metallic flakes cascading down the side. The cake was both beautiful and delicious! It was also so moist and flavorful! Cake flavors were cherry cake with almond filling and almond cake with white chocolate filling. Our guests said over and over that it was the best wedding cake they ever had! We couldnt agree more! We saved some in our freezer for our 1-year anniversary, but we ate it within the first 3 months of marriage. It was too good to save that long!

We have loved this little bakeshop the few times weve visited, but unfortunately todays experience was extremely poor. We hadnt been in for a while and were excited to have a drink and pastry with friends. I have food allergies, gluten and eggs so I asked about what I could eat. It took several minutes to help the customer in front of me, then several more minutes to get an answer regarding which gluten free pastries were also egg free. I waited so long to order while there were at least three employees present. Finally, I was told the scones are gluten and egg free. So, I chose the jalapeno and cheddar one. The cost was $5. I was a bit shocked but went ahead and got the treat. Well, it was not good. It had a bitter aftertaste and was gummy. I nicely let them know and asked if I could try something else instead (one of the other scones). The lady working the register went into the kitchen to ask and after several more minutes, I was told that they would not replace it. I was quite shocked to be told that they wouldnt make it right. I honestly havent encountered such poor customer service in a while. I didnt even let them know about the other concern, but the latte they made had almost an inch room under the cup lid and was more like a cappuccino. The value here is just so poor. This is so disappointing as the shop is cute and we live nearby.

I wish I liked this place more because the owners seem lovely and their cakes and cookies are very pretty. Unfortunately, Ive had a worse experience every time Ive gone back over the last couple of years. There are too many sweet baked goods on offer and a lot of them Ive tried are very dry like theyve sat around. The place is bursting with staff but you still end up waiting half an hour for your food and coffee and they walk past dirty tables over and over when there are customers waiting to sit down. Even when service is really backed up, multiple people mill about behind the counter on their phones or eating or looking confused while one person slowly makes coffee. There is no good place to wait for your savory food which is especially hard if you have small children and a box full of pastries in one hand. The dish pit in the kitchen is visible directly behind the register. The savory items are very greasy and take a long time to come out, with a very limited selection. Not a good place to eat breakfast for this reason, its all desserts in boxes and weak coffee in takeout cups.

I ran in the day before my daughter s wedding for some gluten-free cupcakes for a few guest who have gluten issues. They only had chocolate due to being almost closing time. I put them in the fridge that night and took them out about an hour before they would be eating them. The guest were so excited about their cupcakes, not only were the cupcakes a great size and pleasant to the eyes but they all mentioned that they tasted delicious. One guest said these cupcakes were the best gluten-free cupcakes she had ever had. So thankful we were able to make even our gluten-free guest feel included in the cake portion of the wedding celebration. Thank you Casa Costa!

Decided to try this place out because it looked cute and homely. While the treats are quite big, I personally became sick when I ate anything with icing on it. Im not sure if it was some sort of allergic reaction to something in the icing, or something just didnt hit. The bundt I had (which I unfortunately didnt take a picture of) was quite great! That one didnt make me sick. The anesthetics are cute, but I probably wont be coming back again

After living in Leander for a few years, we finally decided to come into this much raved about place. Our intention was to inquire and if possible order a customized cake then eat some goodies. Our whole family came along on a weekday afternoon where there was only about 3 patrons in the store eating at two separate tables. The staff were pleasant and nice but told us that they were not able to accommodate our cake request as they need weeks in advance order and we only had a week. This has not been a problem for us in the past but here we are in Leander so we accept the fact that they are busy since there is not much competition around. Then as we were looking at all the baked goodies, our excitement quickly faded away as we saw flies hovering ALL OVER all the displayed baked goods out in the counter. And all I could think off is where have these flies been prior to landing on those items? This is highly unsanitary and wont even pass inspection standards in many other places. Then the staff were pushing some few days old super dried baked goods. Really?! You shouldnt be even selling those yucky goods anymore or donate them BEFORE they actually become unpleasant to eat. We just wanted to walk away but my little kids insisted on something so we decided on the refrigerated section with hopefully no fly surviving that temperature. My daughter chose one cupcake. By the time I had to pay for this one cupcake, it was $7.00! Are you freaking kidding me? So I decided to take a bite from it and here I am writing this review. I do not know if the overpriced not great tasting cupcake experience was better or worse than the flies swarming all the baked goods?! I wont be returning. There was also nothing that was really healthy - gluten free, vegan stuff. I guess it has great reviews to date because the area it serves has pretty low expectations and there is not much competition around.

This is a smallish bakery with semi-decent baked goods and ok chai lattes. I really wanted to like this place, but employees have ruined it for me every time. They seem unenthusiastic and disinterested in their jobs at best. While Ive only been a handful of times, they get my order wrong every time. I get a confirmation on part of the order, while the remainder is disregarded. The customers in front of and behind both had kids, and one kid was right on top of me. It seemed the employees were more interested/distracted by them than serving me. This time, the person confirmed the first part of my order and the drink, but they dropped the ball on the latter half. If working in a place serving customers, always confirm before finalizing; dont assume. If getting an order right isnt important, theyre on point. It is partly my error missing this before I left, but I was doing my best to stay patient and calm in a difficult situation in regards to the customers around me. I wont be returning for any reason. It is my hope the employees will start to care one day. If a larger order is more important, its sad, but I can understand the attitude held towards someone ordering very little.

The coxinha was excellent, this was recommended to me by my wife who has been to Brazil and I enjoyed the whole goodness of this potato and chicken mashup in a tear drop shape with a tasty sauce. The pau de queijo was cheesy and it got better by the bite. This was my first time trying this place, I look forward to coming back and trying more off their menu.

The staff was wonderful to work with and we highly recommend them if youre in the market for an event cake. Oh and we tried like 20 things at the bakery before committing... EVERYTHING we ate, savory or sweet, was out of this world delicious.

Nice little (not too little) cafe, seems like a great place to sit and relax with either coffee or beer. Only tried coffee but it was on point, and I noticed a strong selection of beers. The seating isnt particularly comfy, but there are sitting places inside and out, and a generally welcoming vibe from the place and staff. Good prices.

Simply the best. From day one Kim was amazing with the process of helping us select our wedding cake. Since COVID changed so much she had a box of samples ready for us to pick up and taste. There were so many amazing flavors it became almost impossible to choose. When it came time to make decorate selections she was honest and transparent about cost options and even ways to save. I highly recommend!

Food is great, but there needs to be more restrictions on how many people come in and out of the shop at the same time. Its not really comforting having over 30 people wait in line inside the shope, stacked up on top of each other. The food is amazing, but having this many people around each other just doesnt feel safe. Maybe have restrictions and only have like 10 inside and make the rest wait outside? Just a thought. Much better service the 2nd time around! Updating review! Well staffed! 05OCT2022.

Update (-1 star): not open on Sunday? Very disappointing. Id love to have a nearby place of this quality to enjoy a leisurely Sunday breakfast. Guess Ill keep looking. Outstanding quality. Above average price, but well worth a couple extra bucks. 3/16/21: a scone,a danish, and a cup of coffee for $12. Charging extra for cream in my coffee is kinda lame, imho.

The staff were very polite and offered suggestions. I did take some items to go, so dont have comments about them. But overall, this place was a pleasant surprise due to the negative reviews but utterly delightful! Things (staffing, supplies, costs) are hard all over so just a little patience and kindness...both ways...can make a difference. Thank you, all you kind Casa Costa staff! Ill be back!

I wanted a cake, so I emailed them. They said yes (Kimberly) and asked for ideas. I replied three times. I never heard back! I even asked them to answer that they could not take the order. The cake was for tomorrow, and I am still waiting for an email. Silence is the worst customer experience, mainly because they answered the first emails and said yes.

I recently ordered a smash cake for my one year oldest birthday party, and missed my pick up time due to an emergency. The shop closed, and was closed the following two days, so I thought I totally blew it. In a panic, I emailed the shop explaining the situation, and the owner, Katie, agreed to meet me the morning of my party so I could get the cake.. . She is AMAZING and squeezed me in on her way to church. She did NOT have to do that and I an so grateful she saved the day and was willing to do that for a customer. The cake was BEYOND amazing... we shared the unsmashed cake with the rest of the group and it was gobbled up! I cant say enough about the quality of the food here and the high level of customer service. This shop deserves 10 stars! I will forever remember this experience and how Katie turned my weekend around. I will recommend this place to EVERYONE I know.

Came from out of town and stayed within walking distance. We were excited to try the pastries but were left disappointed each time in our two visits. They re good, but just overpriced for what they offer. We paid over $20 for two breakfast items and two coffees one day. The coffees didn t taste fully developed and weren t anything special. And when the cook delivered my puff pastry he said here s your sausage puff I told him I didn t order the sausage, I ordered the bacon and showed him my ticket. He replied oh that s what a meant and said it was the bacon. After going back to where we were staying and biting into it, it was indeed a sausage puff, which the filling is completely different than the bacon. Not just a meat switch up. I wanted to order a key lime bite sized pie to go, but they top it with whipped cream and not meringue, and since I don t like whipped cream I passed. The next day I returned to try their desserts. I ordered a tiramisu cheesecake. After getting back to my room, I took a bite and realized they had topped it with whipped cream. I didn t even think to ask since whipped cream isn t a normal topping for tiramisu. For the price, $7, it felt like a missed opportunity to do a nice mascarpone topping with maybe chocolate swirls or shavings. Instead just whipped cream on a some chocolate that was poured so thick that it would squish the cheesecake as you tried to push in the fork. About a third of the way in it just fell off the top as a whole so I ate the cheesecake without it. So, their food isn t bad, it s just not worth the price.

Our pão de queijo (Brazilian Cheese puffs) were hard as stone, the coxinha (Brazilian fried chicken croquette) was too oily, the quiche was cold and somewhat dry, and the velvet cake was not very velvetty or smooth. Update: I bought a $20 tiny cookie cake for a birthday. It was like biting into a giant chocolate chip. There were so many that they overpowered everything. I should have known better. I spent $50 on a small okay salad, a crumbled up carrot cake in a cup (which made for a really weird texture), and a cake that was so not worth it. My opinion hasnt changed. It is way way too expensive for just okay food.. Original: The place is cute and the food was okay. I wanted to like it. But the service is below meh. It seems to be just a bunch of kids. And when I got a to go order, less care was taken with my food and me as a customer than I would have gotten at a fast food place. For as overpriced as it is for average food, I would at least expect good to excellent service. This is not that.
