Food was decent for white people version of tex mex..if made north of Nebraska. Refried beans tasted like Hormel canned refried beans, so I asked for borracho beans instead. The borracho beans lacked flavor and left a lot to the imagination. House margarita was sugar water and the michelata was bland. The Burrito Esteban was NOT a burrito, it was 2 tacos poorly constructed with cheese on top. (They should be listed as fajita tacos or stuffed cheese to call them an enchilada, regardless it was definitely not a burrito.) The puffy tacos were very greasy. I am a huge fan of Henrys Puffy Tacos in San Antonio, and I heard the Estebans had puffy tacos that were comparable to them...they were not. I will not be returning. I will be supporting Tex-Mex restaurants with better recipes or Taco Bell if I want Estebans quality. The restaurant was clean and the staff was nice. Food and drinks were not.

when my wife and I moved to Texas, we spent weeks looking for a great mexican restaurant. After we found Estebans, we didnt need to look anymore. The atmosphere is charming, the serve is top-notch, and the cuisine is perfect. Its a staple in our family since we found it!

Have been here many times and still everything was fresh and tasty, my guy ordered the half and half margarita it is half frozen and half on the rocks!! Daily lunch specials m-f are outstanding. Fresh hot & fast. This place is a League City staple. my only complaint is the so called Mexican fried Ice cream. very disappointing. barely a shake of cinnamon, plain tortilla wrapped around the vanilla ice cream..... never again. Bland. No taste. Very boring. This really needs to be made better with a little care.

Ive been coming to this restaurant for many, many years. Ive known people whove used them for catering services, attended events that were held in their event space, and my rehearsal dinner was held here a few years ago. All have been great, the food and service. The restaurant space feels pretty tight when theyre busy, but other than that no complaints.

This is our first visit. We came based on recommendations from Nextdoor app. The staff is attentive and friendly. I ordered puffy tacos but the tacos were not puffy. It appeared to be a corn tortilla deep fried, not puffy. Like most reviews, the food was not hot. I love my food served HOT. I ordered borracho beans, but the beans served were plain pinto beans. These beans had no onion, no jalapeno, no cilantro, and no flavor. We are new to HOUSTON and maybe this is how did is cooked out here, but we are accustomed to a different way cooking. Like puffy taco have a little puff in the corn tortilla and borracho beans have a lot of flavor with all the extra ingredients. I want to try it again... would it be considered rude, now a days, to request hot food?

Ive been wanting to try Estebans for a while because its one of the few places that sell puffy tacos in the Houston area. The restaurant seems to be busy all the time, so decided to check it out. We ordered the puffy tacos and tacos al carbon. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. The puffy tacos were greasy and only lukewarm. The shell fell apart by the time it arrived at the table. The fajita meat was bland. The rice was also bland and cold. I think this was the first time we never finished a bowl of chips and salsa. This was probably my least favorite salsa at any restaurant. Even the tea was watered down. This will be our first and last visit. Too bad because I wanted to like it. There are too many other good Tex-Mex restaurants in the area to waste my time here.

We found this place by accident because it was the closest to a delivery I needed to make & since I don t live in league city!! I got a combanation plate and my hubby got the chile renello and it was great! The taco and cheese enchiladas was on point and the chile renellio was one of the best my hubby was impressed!! This is THE BEST taco I have ever had. Ill never go back to regular tacos again. They fry the shell & it gets puffy, they put the good stuff on top. To die for!!!! I would not recommend it for delivery. It will probably get soggy. This is an eat at the restaurant meal. Also, you can have one or more. I had 1 & it filled me up after having CCQ & guacamole, and chips & salsas. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DISH & RESTAURANT!!

My mom and I ate here regularly (almost every Friday and Saturday) but have decreased how often we do. Some days the food is just as good as always and others its so different and off. The lack of consistency has made us afraid to spend the money on the food. The ground beef for the taco salad is either lean or really greasy. The lettuce is either fresh and crunchy or brown. The chicken enchiladas are either white meat and smaller pieces or mixed with dark meat and huge peppers. One night the sauce on top of the enchilada looked like marinara sauce! And the salsa was always my favorite. Some nights its so spicy I cant enjoy it versus the normal flavor. Not sure where the giant inconsistencies are coming from but were going to be reducing how often we come here until were sure the original food is back. We come there so much, the hostess and one of your waiters know who we are.

Absolutely love this place! Ive been going here for at least 15 years and you should too! Staff is absolutely great and most of them have been working there a long time. If you go here you should definitely try queso de estaban from the appetizers. I order it for myself as a meal. Vegetarian options: I am not vegetarian personally but I have seen options on the menu. Ask the staff anything to alleviate your concerns as they have all the knowledge. Dietary restrictions: Just ask the staff and the kitchen will be more than happy to oblige your request. Parking: Lots of parking in plain view behind the restaraunt. Kid-friendliness: This isnt an uptight restaraunt and kids are most welcome to join in the good food. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to enter and plenty of tables with enough space for a wheelchair.
