Went to visit my daughter in July on my vacation who is a staff member at your facility she can not say enough good things about that community she absolutely loves the residents and enjoys working with the staff I had the pleasure to go inside to see the lobby the building is beautiful and the staff was very inviting and kind as part of management at a senior living community I know first impressions are everything and I was impressed. Beautiful community

We appreciate all of the support from The Delaney for our family member living in their assisted living facility. They provide many fun activities, great food, and a safe environment. The assisted living nursing staff are exceptional, very caring and supportive. The administration is wonderful, Michelle and Clarissa are always professional and attentive in meeting our needs, and those of our loved one.

My dear Mother lives here and has for the past six years! This place is a fantastic facility to live. They have so many amenities and activities for the residents that they stay very busy in a social environment. The apartments are very well maintained and the residents are safe. Heidi is the director of this facility and because of her fantastic Christian leadership everyone that works there are so friendly and professional. The staff knows the residents and get involved with them in their activities. The food is fantastic because of the chief that works there, he will have a meal that is always top notch. The restaurant can also meet any of the residents special food requirements like my Mom at times need. When you walk into the place you see a smile on everybodys face staff, residents, and visitors alike. I feel secure knowing my Mom lives there in such a great place!

Community is the best description for the Delaney. From the very first tour I felt the community support I wanted my dad (and myself) to receive as he aged. The Delaney atmosphere and communal areas are nice and classy, yet comfortable. Most hours of the day when I drop in residents are out of their apartments enjoying the community areas, whether it is eating, socializing, playing bingo, or doing crafts. The residents are friendly and fun to be around. Everyone on staff from the Director to maintenance has been personable and caring to my family. I love attending all the community events. They are lively and well done. It s a place I enjoy going to visit and best of all I am at peace that my dad can easily be social and engage with his peers while living in a clean and safe environment.

Since moving our Mom to the Memory Care Unit at The Delaney at South Shore, she has thrived! She loves her little apartment as she calls it. Ann and her staff are so caring, compassionate and very astute as to what Mom needs to feel so comfortable. From the moment you walk in to the front door of The Delaney, you feel welcomed. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The facility is clean and has a homey feel. We made the right choice.

I have been talking to the Delaney for the past two years for the possibility that my aunt, who lives out of state, might need to live here. The entire staff has always greeted me with a friendly face, answered all of my questions, let me take measurements of the room for furniture etc. Now, I ve been looking at the Delaney for the past year, since I moved my dad in with me at my home, just in case something were to ever happen, and he needed more care. She invited dad to come and have lunch with fellow pastors that are residents there, which we did, and welcomed him with open arms. Becky Day is an angel walking on earth. My dad did recently end up in the hospital and will live at the Delaney after he regains some strength in rehab. Becky has been there for me and a true sounding board through this entire process. She has reassured me, given me knowledge I didn t have of the process and all of these moments calmed me with her endless patience, love and guidance. I just can t say enough good about the feeling you get when you walk into the Delaney. It feels like home.

Im only leaving a review for how rude these people are. Im a delivery driver, and it was my first time on this route. When I entered the building, no one was at the desk. As I walked more in, I saw 3 employees talking amongst themselves. One actually was heading toward me after she saw me with the big box. But literally stopped mid way and started talking again to the other person. The receptionist walked by me, again you cant miss the big box I had in my hand and didnt even care to look at me. As i was trying to ask the same lady who was heading my way she completely ignored me! Someone came out of nowhere and finally helped me. Regardless of my job Im still a person!!!!

We have visited a large number of senior communities in the Clear Lake and surrounding areas and The Delaney has consistently impressed us in many ways. It is a beautiful community and the staff is very caring and warm. We have talked to many of the residents and they seem to genuinely love it there. We have sampled the food and we re very impressed (this is an important factor to my Mom). After a few months of searching we have decided The Delaney will be my Mom s new home.

After our dear Judy passed away in March of 2022, we began looking around at various retirement communities for our dad , as he definitely needed company and no longer needed the responsibility of a large home. From the moment we walked in 1.5 years ago and were greeted by Becky, it didn t take long to know that The Delaney at South shore was the perfect place. The entire staff was welcoming, compassionate, kind and understanding. Although we live in Alabama, we make frequent visits and we re always treated with the same hospitality. These past few months have been some of the most challenging in our lives. Our dad became very ill and ultimately needed the help of home hospice. My husband stayed by his side for those last 3 weeks of his life, as I flew in and out. From the welcome home sign the staff brought home, to all the various visits and accommodations that had to be made, EVERY need and request were met. The Executive Director has put together not just a staff, but a family and every resident there is made to feel apart of it. Every member of this staff went above and beyond from the kitchen (the food is amazing), security, maintenance, front desk, and of course Heidi Haight and Becky Day. There is no wonder the Delaney stays filled! Although dad was there only 14 months out of his 85 years, I can assure you they were some of the most meaningful! I highly recommend Delaney at south shore. You will not be disappointed.

The staff at The Delaney is very attentive and helpful. The facilities are clean and well cared for. We enjoy having meals at the bistro and all the menu options available. We are much more social now that we live at The Delaney. They always have something going on like bingo, special speakers and different crafts. We attend many of the exercise classes and really enjoy socializing with the residents.

I had the privilege of entrusting the care of my mother to The Delaney at South Shore until her passing, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this facility. The level of care, compassion, and professionalism exhibited by the staff is truly commendable. Special mention must go to Clarissa and her team of nurses, who went above and beyond in ensuring my mothers well-being. Their dedication to their work and their genuine care for the residents is evident in every interaction. The kitchen staff also deserve high praise for their excellent service. They made mealtime a pleasant experience for my mother, which is a testament to their commitment to resident satisfaction. However, its important to note that no place is without its flaws. I did encounter an individual at the facility who exhibited an unacceptable level of toxicity. I have communicated this concern to the management, and I hope that appropriate action will be taken to address this issue. Overall, The Delaney at South Shore was a sanctuary of care and compassion for my mother, and I am deeply grateful for the love and attention she received during her time there.

We moved our mother out of Independent Living to go to an assistant living facility and we had to pay Delaney for 60 days notice. They said if they found someone that wanted her apartment they would prorate us back. Went to check her apartment and someone already moved in and living there. They went in and made the unit ready and leased it out with No notice to us and not willing to refund us for the rent we have paid. This is not right! Communication with the Administration staff is horrible.

I cannot say enough about the Delaney at South shore. I am completely in Love with ALL of their staff, the facility and the programs. I started caring for my grandmother about a year ago from out of state and reached out to them when I had no idea how elder care worked. Kaitlin explained so much to me and walked me through the ins and outs EVEN WHEN we were not going to be future residents. Now that we are residents, the service just gets better and better. The concierge desk is like having a personal assistant on sight, (Lisa and I speak often) They go out of their way to make my grandmother feel accepted and seen. The building is well maintained and well cleaned. (Ryan even fixed my grandmas recliner) It truly feels like a resort regardless of if you are assisted or independent living. The nursing team is fantastic with their care and their personalities. (Clarrisa, Darlene and Jessica have made a huge difference in my grandmas well-being) The wait staff is tentative at every meal. (We enjoy talking to Emiliana) It has been such a great experience, that my mother-in law is also moving in this week! This is a fantastic place for you and your loved ones to be a part of!

I moved my mom I to the Delaney about two years ago when she started showing signs of cognitive decline. Although I wish my mother could remain independent in her house, I am glad we found her a home at the Delaney. They were fantastic during the initial move in, easing moms fears and apprehensions. We have transitioned mom to a memory care apartment due to her condition, and I am grateful they are there every day to take care of mom, and I know she is in good hands.

My grandpa was diagnosed with dementia and we were in search of a community where they understand what the disease actually entails. The Delaney provided my parents and I with a plan for both my grandma AND us. Their Heartfelt Connections program really describes how family can transition from caregiver to picking up where life left off. It s a win/win for everyone. Due to weather related issues with our home, my husband and I moved to The Delaney while our house was being repaired and reconstructed. The level of hospitality we received from not only employees but the residents as well made being away from our home bearable. The amenities were priceless, we had meals provided which relieved the stress of grocery shopping, the house keeping services which took the stress of cleaning off my mind, and the fact that we had a dog park for our fur babies was wonderful since we didn t have access to our normal back yard. All in all it was a wonderful solution that I am truly grateful to have had the Delaney to rely on!

I worked at The Delaney for a little over a year. First off, the management team has some of the best humans I have ever met. In my role, i helped families in the process of moving their loved ones in. Each resident i moved in was so special! During our tours, i honestly was able to say that living at the Delaney was like being on a cruise ship indefinitely. The residents had amazing meals to come down to, fun activities, and a great team with such hospitality making it all happen. Overall I am pleased with not just the facility but the staff as well. And honestly it is the staff here who makes the Delaney at South Shore a wonderful place. Late 2021, my mother moved here and from day one . The staff have been outstanding. 5 Stars for the residents. Many are very engaging, friendly and kind. And I think it is worth noting that the residents too make up an important factor / key element that makes this facility a wonderful place. Side note . It s heartbreaking that some (for whatever reason), don t get visitors. These were are parents who did the best they could to raise & provide for us. And we should make the time to visit them - But for what s it s worth . Those of you who don t - the Delaney does a great job stepping up in your absence. The property is well kept and from my experience and observations, they have a very good proactive approach rather than a reactive approach. Before settling on Delaney, we had visited several facilities (without an appointment) . Some turned us away and we didn t follow up, make an appointment and never went back (Delaneys gain..your lost). When searching for a place for mom/dad, go there unannounced. And when we walked in 2021, we were welcomed (check mark). We were greeted and received well. Sure they weren t expecting us and they had no time to get ready, no time to go remove Mr. John Doe or Ms Jane Doe from the dinning room, or activity room and etc. It was important that we came inside the first time to see how we were (or would be) received. The front office staff did a great job accommodating & assisting us. We had expected to have spent about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs here our first visit, we ended up being here more than 3 hours. We toured the entire facility and met everyone first day (because it s important to see what s going on & how it kept/looks like behind the scenes as well). And they gave us a great first impression. We visited a couple of places prior and didn t get this kind of reception from the other places (although those who did receive us without an appointment were good . But Delaney 5 Stars on that first reception and first impression).. We made a couple of visits (at different times of the day) back to the Delaney, and we asked a lot of questions. Asked about various policies, procedures and what if scenarios, etc. everyone we encountered gave us their uninvited attention. They were patient with us - after all this was a big decision and I / we had to know whether or not this was the right place for mom. And the Delaney understood that, whereas a couple others places . Were like don t worry we got you (nope, no thanks). Overall the staff here were honest, gave sincere feedback, and were straight forward - had visited a couple of places where they seem to provide you the corporate response or manufactured answers . The staff (everyone) who ve we come into contact with is very attentive and friendly. They do a good job with the fan experience here. The hospitality here is wonderful, comparable to what you would expect from a hotel (or resort) while on vacation. Another 5 Star selling point for us .The hospitality I m thankful to the restaurant staff, activity coordinators, care technicians, housekeeping staff, nurses, maintenance staff, front desk personnel, sales personnel and everyone else there who I may not mentioned for the job they do - grateful for what you do day in and day out assisting & helping my mom. What can they (Delaney at South Shore) do better . Same as at any company .. continuous improvement. Nothing is prefect, we have to constantly evaluate what we re doing, review the service / product we provide, and look for ways on how we can improve. I think they do a good job of that here. I m happy, and comfortable with the decision to come here. Thank you once again to the staff in the various departments here who are truly the face the company. Thanks and appreciate the job you do. It makes me happy knowing my mom is in good hands.

Very disappointed in the memory care unit at the Delaney. Without timely care my husband was only there 3 nights before I was called to take him to the ER. Took me months to get some refund. After the initial sales pitch, care and caring was at a minimum. Calls were not returned and no one even contacted me to see how he was doing. Do your due diligence before using the memory care. I found a much better one in League City

A large percentage of the reviewers use the full name of the business (quite atypical of a valid review), have only one review to their name (another red flag) or they self identify as employees, which is a strict conflict of interest. Serious dietary issues for diabetics and people with salt restrictive diets. We have set up resident committees to address these issues, yet management callously ignores us--claiming they are not running a hospital. My primary care physician is not only not impressed but also offended.

We moved my mom and step dad to the Delaney in February. The staff have been extremely helpful while they transition to a new home. They are always welcoming and kind. The maintenance crew have been so accommodating helping to hang pictures and even walking my moms dog in a pinch! My mom recently had knee surgery and it has been great to have Rudy to take her to physical therapy. Also, big shout out to Libby for going above and beyond her duties in community relations to help in any way we need. I have piece of mind knowing that they are well taken care of!

You have to check out the Delaney if your are looking for a Senior Living facility and you want to age in place. When you walk in you feel like you are in a resort. My mom has lived in Memory Care at The Delaney at Shore for a month shy of two years and she is really thriving since being here. She loves the great food and I get so amazed at her being about to turn 97 and living with such quality of life. She said one time to my sister - I live in an old folks home but, the food is good, the people are nice so its all good!! Her favorite thing to say to everyone is hey hey hey... every day living life to the fullest. My grandpa moved to the Delaney about a year and a half ago but in December he had to transfer to assisted-living. Since he has moved to assisted living he s like a new person. He tells me all of the time how much he loves it over there on that side and how well they take care of him. He says they will do anything he asks and they will break their back s to do for him. During Covid they have really taken care of my grandfather and made sure he was safe. He talks about the food all of the time and how he s never had a bad meal. He also talks about the staff and how sweet they are to him and how he has so many friends. I can t think of a better place for my grandfather to spend these years of his life, it s like a resort. He is able to stay active and enjoys the social aspect and independence he still has. I highly recommend The Delaney at South Shore for anyone, the team there really care.

Where do I begin my praise?! My grandmother has been a resident in IL since 2019. Everything about The Delaney at South Shore is beautifully warm and inviting...from the decor to the people, residents and staff alike. Her apartment is so pretty and spacious. She loves living and we love going to see her and having lunch or dinner with her in their gorgeous dining room. The food is alway delicious and freshly prepared. Ive been with the Delaney family for 1 year and 1/2 but I feel like Ive been here for 10. Everyone here was so welcoming and ready to help from the minute I walked in and still see it every day with our staff and residents. Ive worked with seniors for 22 years and this place just impressed me from the very beginning. The staff provides the best care and it is evident that they love spending time with seniors. In the 19 years of experience that I have in assisted-living facilities as a medication assistant I have never found a place that truly feels like home. Everyone has such good relationships with each other. The nursing staff is amazing, the food is delicious and has a gourmet feel. The employees are truly appreciated here, we get pleasant surprises that make us feel like we re doing a good job. Toured this place with my grandmother. As she s getting up in age she can be a bit picky and she really seemed to enjoy everything the Delaney had to offer. Our representative that helped us while we were there was a delight, I believe her name was Liddy or Libby. My grandmother can have a bit of a sailor mouth due to her time spent as a longshoreman in her younger days off the coast of Alaska and this team didn t let any of that affect them. I feel confident they will be able to take care of Granny Dale and listen to her regale them with stories of the great white fish no one saw but her.

My wife and I have been living at the Delaney for 25 months now. I am in Independent Living and my wife is in Memory Care. Our experience here has been wonderful. The staff and management have always been open and friendly and eager to help in any way possible. The food is excellent and the housekeeping staff does a wonderful job. Since the pandemic started, the staff and management have made every effort to follow the guidelines set forth by the corporation and state and federal instructions. They have also made every effort to encourage visitation by friends and families to keep us in contact with the rest of the world. All in all, I think Heidi, her staff, and the corporation have done an excellent job of keeping us safe and as comfortable as possible during these unprecedented trying times. What a blessing that we found The Delaney at South Shore for our mom. The care at her previous assisted living had really gone down hill and by the time we got her moved, she was quite depressed and had lost interest in most things. I could see a difference in her appearance and attitude within just a few days. Its been almost a month now and she is settling in nicely. The care is just amazing and better than anything we have experienced before. The staffing is adequate so that the caregivers are not being pulled in ten different directions and that has a direct result on how the residents are cared for. Everyone is so sweet and accommodating to each residents individual needs. For instance, my mom likes to sleep late so they let her and then they warm up and/or prepare her breakfast when shes ready for it instead of her having to adjust to their time schedule. It may seem like a small thing, but it makes her feel like she gets to make her own choice and at this stage in her life, that makes a huge difference! The whole place is bright and cheerful and the food is amazing! I really enjoy spending time there with her now and not having to worry about everything. I enthusiastically recommend The Delaney if youre looking for a place for your loved one.

The Delaney at South Shore is amazing! My father moved to the independent living side and could not have been happier. The food was wonderful! The staff could not have been more caring, compassionate and kind. From Amber to Heidi to Josie and all of the kitchen wait staff and chef s everyone knew my dad by name and treated him so very well. I have been to several senior living facilities between grandparents and extended family and the Delaney is like nothing I have seen. My mother lives in independent living at the Delaney at South Shore. When she broke her leg, the staff really stepped up to make her comfortable and to assist in any way possible. Heidi helped me negotiate the ins and outs of Covid shots, coordinating with mothers hospital and physical therapy. Josie helped manage getting mom back to the Delaney from the nursing care facility, and Dorothy helped mother get back into exercising. The hospital surgeon said that thanks to the exercise program at the Delaney, mother was in good physical shape for a 90-year-old and would probably not have any problems recovering and resuming her active lifestyle. It was great to get her back to her nice, clean room. Overall, the continued care for their clients and the quality of their service (the food is excellent, Marty), has been a relief to my sister an me. Caring for your parents is not easy, but the Delaney at South Shore has made it much easier for me and my sister. Thank you, Delaney.

I was searching for a place for my parents to potentially relocate closer to me and was able to have a virtual visit of The Delaney South Shore. The community - wow, so beautiful and the apartment was spacious and I was so surprised how custom the kitchen was just like a home kitchen since my Mom still loves to cook. Michelle was so great in answering all my questions and helping me with ideas to encourage my parents to make the move. My aunt lives here after moving out of her home in January and she has nothing but positive reviews to say about the staff and the care she gets daily. She was in her home and unable to handle the unkeep anymore and Delaney had everything she was looking for so that she can enjoy a carefree lifestyle and continue doing the things she loves. I was able to visit her when she first moved in and i was thoroughly impressed with the food, the caregivers, and the cleanliness of the facility. The Delaney at South Shore is so warm and welcoming. Before Covid hit, I helped move my grandmother in. During our initial tour, there wasn t one person that didn t greet us with a hello in passing. The community definitely has a resort style feel. Throughout Covid, The Delaney has gone above and beyond to keep my grandmother engaged and involved. Everyone at the Delaney has been very helpful, especially during this tough time. The elderly are still in lock down while the rest of see things opening up. Its so hard on them. When I made the decision to move my mother to the Delaney, Heidi was very helpful and very kind. My mother wasnt taking it so well . She was very cranky but Heidi took it in stride and tried to be understanding of what mom was feeling. It helped me as well. Heidi & her staff have gone beyond to follow the Health guidelines by the CDC, the State of TX, the corporate guideline during Covid-19 since March of this year. Their efforts have paid off as no resident or employee has had the virus. I know it is hard for the residents to understand the stay at home & health guidelines that the whole world has been under. They have still been able to visit & eat with small groups the entire time. They also have access to walking inside or outside. My Mom has seen more people on a daily basis than I have since March! I feel so blessed & happy that my Mom is living at The Delaney in Independent Living where she had 3 meals delivered a day, could walk around inside or outside of the Delaney, get her mail, go to sit & fit, bible study & eat with her friends! I know God brought my Mom to this great place, it was all part of his master plan! I live right down the street & can visit any time by sitting outside of her porch. Thanks to Heidi & staff for their kindness, concern & attention to details- they are doing an excellent job! I would recommend The Delaney highly to anyone interested in a Senior Care Living Place!

My parents have lived at The Delaney for over a year. My mother is in memory care and my father is in independent living. My parents lived down the street from us before moving to the Delaney, but once my mothers care became more physically demanding than we could manage, we searched the area for a place that fit our familys needs. We had to find a place where we could feel confident and secure in our mothers care, but also a place that felt comfortable for our whole family (9 grandkids and counting between my 4 siblings and myself) to be able to come together and spend time. The Delaney is just that place for us. Weve joined our parents for many meals, social gatherings, holiday gatherings, play time in the game room, etc. The food is delicious, and has done wonders for my fathers bloodwork too! ;) Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care are all connected by the common areas, so my father easily moves between his apartment and my mothers room, and before Covid 19, he was able to take her from Memory Care into the common areas or to his apartment. Although none of us like having to abide by the Covid-19 restrictions put in place, which keep us from being able to hug our parents and visit with them inside the building, we are so incredibly relieved that the Delaney has been so diligent in keeping their residents safe, and have had no cases in the entire facility.

This facilitys director should be ashamed of herself. Our mom became a resident a few months ago and it started off great. She cannot walk but was ambulatory to the point to where she could transfer in out of chairs on her own. However, she became ill and had to go into ICU for about a week. When she was released the doctors wanted her to go to a rehab hospital but she wanted to return to the Delaney. She was no longer able to transfer, but the Delaney accepted her back. We pleaded with them not to accept her back, but they still did. She did not fare well there and after 8 days she finally consented to going into a rehab hospital. She worsened over that time and the decision was made to put her into Hospice Care at the Delaney. They were informed on January 2 of her returning to the facility, which would take place January 8. My brother received a call that the Delaney would not be accepting our mother at 3pm, on January 8, literally an hour before her transfer time, and two hours before the Hospice care meeting that was to be held at the Delaney itself. This is one of the most deplorable acts by a despicable human being I have ever seen. When my brother asked what are we supposed to do now, her response was I dont know, offering absolutely no help whatsoever. She just washed her hands of the whole situation. I placed a call with her yesterday and still have not heard back. The fact she was not accepted going into Hospice care was very surprising and upsetting, but the fact the denied her at the last possible moment, leaving her and her entire family in a huge bind with no recourse is appalling. This director should be held accountable for ruining lives like this. Here are the largest problems we had: 1) You knew she was coming back a week before and probably knew you were going to deny her, but waited until the last possible minute to tell us. 2) You gave various reasons of her denial, yet had no problem taking her three weeks prior when you were told that she was non ambulatory and that she should not return home. Why take her then, but not now, when she is going into Hospice Care? 3) The fact the you waited until the last minute to inform the family just shows the character of you as a human being. Is this the type of person you want controlling the fate of your loved one? Props to the Crossing Rehab Center for delaying the discharge for us to find an alternative. If you are remotely in a situation like this, please think twice before sending your loved one here. This story proves that the director is not above making immoral decisions that will put your loved one and you in a serious bind to the point of potential ruin.

I have a friend that stays there, and she was one of the first person to move in, she has had nothing but trouble since she has moved in. Well now she has been robbed when she was in the hospital. The management is not wanting to help solve the issue. We called the police and filed charges, and the management said that they were to busy to even talk to the police. i highly recommend not to move into this facility.

As eagerly awaiting (pre)residents we appreciated the updated opening-date information. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet some of our future neighbors and get to know some of the Delaney members, all of whom seem to have the makings for a harmonious community.
