They claim if you cancel before you receive a consultation you will get a full refund. I sent a cancellation request at 11am on Friday via email and had a customer service worker reach out to me regarding that request. 12 hours later at 11pm they sent me my letter without the mandatory phone consultation and now claim they can t refund me because I had received a consultation and my letter. It s interesting that in those 12 hours they were incapable of cancelling and informing my therapist that I no longer required those services . The reason I cancelled was because I no longer required the letter because of how long it was taking them to schedule my consultation and I lost my housing due to that. I m curious if they reached out to the therapist and pushed the letter through (against their own rules) in order to keep my money. Clearly dishonest practices

I got my ESA letter for my dog super fast, in time before I moved into my new place. They connected me with a therapist in my state, i answered a lot of questions and was assessed by the therapist. They also do check ins a few times a year as well which is very nice. I would recommend this to anyone trying to get their pet certified as an ESA.

Terrible. Absolutley NO communication. I had to contact the therapist that was assigned to me to get any information about the process. Then after spending the money and waiting 3 months I get my letter. I also paid for an I.D. badge that they forgot to send. I received it 5 months after stating the process. At first I was very hesitant to use this service. There are a lot of scam service out there that will take your money or not give you what you need. I have had mental health issues for the past few years and I haven t had the money or time to regularly see a therapist or counselor to prescribe me an esa. This service connects you with someone who will be able to assess you and then prescribe you and esa. It was so much more affordable than multiple counseling sessions and less time consuming. The time from paying to getting my esa letter was very fast for me, and the customer service was amazing. If you re in the same position as me I would highly recommend

I ve been using Certapet since last year for my dorm housing application in Canada. Recently, around October of 2023, Ontario had changed their service animal policy stating that Therapists can no longer issue ESA letters as the usual housing paperwork needs to be filled out by a fully licensed general practitioner, psychiatrist, or doctor. Although I have good experiences with the therapist that Certapet assigned to me, if you are looking to get one for a dorm in Ontario it will be denied, i had received a refund as my therapist refused to even fill out the form my college asked for. This review is to mainly point out that Certapet Canada might want to consider obtaining a new mental health practitioner, not just a therapist, to issue these letters and be able to complete such forms for approved applicants. I was very hesitant at first but I m happy I chose CertaPet. I applied and paid on Friday June 21st and thought I would hear back by Tuesday. When I didn t hear back I emailed Tuesday night and called this morning. I spoke with a gentleman who was very kind and said that there are only a couple available therapists available in Texas which was maybe why my request was a little delayed. He said he would reach out to Ann Brown and about an hour later I was on the phone with her getting my ESA letter. Amazing customer service and Ann Brown was very knowledgeable and provided me with all that I was needing. Although it was a little delayed, sometimes it just takes a little bit of understanding and patience.

Customer service led me in the wrong direction for a month. I nearly missed my housing deadline. This caused such a trouble that I can t bring my ESA to my new home until 2 weeks after I get my keys. For reference I already had an active ESA letter, I was not a new customer. I still have not figured out the situation but I m hoping I will be approved with my customized form in time to have him with me at my new place. Really going to be upsetting having to keep him in a family member s bedroom while I wait, the complex is strict on animals. Accept ESA but not without all the paperwork done correctly and approved by their corporation. Besides from that, a year ago, my ESA process was smooth.

I got a letter from a registered therapist for myself to bring my dog who is trained to do her work for me. Certapet is not a scam. I have brought my service dog to Ireland and Switzerland from the USA. Ppl who think the letter doesn t work are because they might not train dogs to do their work as service dog. Great! I have a 9lb chihuahua who really keeps me going. I just cant give up because she is depending on me. Anyway, a lot of places wont allow you to have even a small dog. Its really hard to find a good affordable place that allows small dogs. Enter CertaPet. The doctor I spoke with was so understanding and she knows her stuff. If you are not approved, then you only have to pay for the doctors visit it is a small fee. They sent me a pdf of the letter and also one in the mail. I also got the card for my wallet but set aside time to get this one. The letter came quickly like I said you can download the letter. The card took about a month.

If I could give this place 0 stars I honestly would. I filled out the assessment and few hours later, I was set up with a therapist. I made the appointment. I had her name and license number for my state. Out of curiosity, I went on my official state website to check her license and make sure she was legitimate. Come to find she has five disciplinary actions on her license including fines and complaints regarding her letters and assessments on Certapet. I called Certapet and canceled the appointment. I was told I will receive a refund in 3 business days...we will see. And the customer service woman I spoke to just played dumb about it. Just a warning. Please check these therapists out. Just go on your state website. All information regarding their license is on there. Oh and of course my refund is less $40 for her assessment fee. What a joke. I will just go to my own provider. Certa Pet is an honest way to get your animal certified based on an evaluation by a therapist. There are companies out there that will certify pets as ESAs and service animals for a fee that give great concern to companies like Certa Pet because those animals are pets and not real Service animals or Esas. If I could leave ZERO, I would. This company is a scam. They are doing everything they can to skirt legal trouble. At their best, they are approving a bunch of people with no need for an animal, that may be denied anyway bc state law (at least in KY) prohibits accepting ESA documentation for a fee and federal law indicates websites selling ESA letters are not considered sufficient to indicate someone needs them (i.e. your landlord can deny any letter from this company legally). At worst, they actively discourage people from seeking real help. They also promote their official letters for psychiatric service dogs, which are not even a thing. No trained service dog requires documention. As a person that reviews ESA letters as a part of my profession, I can tell you these are not legitimate and I hope they eventually are fined and put out of business for their fraudelant, scammy operation. Please if you live in a college campus avoid. You ll be denied anyway and out the money. Seek an actually therapist/provider IF you have a disability or suspect a disability.

Will give zero. Paid and days later not even a call, or email. I feel like a lost my money. I was assigned to the Dr. Audrey Lahodny in Kansas. She texted me to schedule a meeting to talk that day or the following day. I replied to her text message not more than two minutes later but she never got back to me. Later, I sent her another message to find a time that will work for her but I never got a reply back. It has being more than three days since then. I do not find it professional to be begging a doctor to remind them to do their jobs or to reply their messages in a considerate time. Just a reminder that you guys are mostly working with people that suffers from anxiety, depression and PTSD. I contacted CertaPet support yesterday and they have not being helpful yet. As far as I know, this is just a SCAM. UPDATE: It took a whole week for the doctor to get back to me and got the letter maybe one week and a half later after I submitted the application. It is not fast.

I needed a letter for my 70 lb dog to be allowed into a condo to live, as an ESA. Condo limit was 20 lb.I found the intake excellent, with appropriate questions asked. As a retired family physician, I was most impressed with the phone interview. I didn t feel rushed, the counsellor seemed to really care, and I ended up with a perfect letter to allow my dog in. A year later, I need a renewal for the condo, and it was seamless- not even expensive when you consider the work that goes into the process. This is all about money and not helping. If you read these boots and accept the lie then is on you and you have no recourse as they are an American company not Canadian which is how the get away with the lies. Absolutely the best service around. The process went exactly as you would expect. I panicked at one point and had to call customer service. They actually returned my call. The person was so helpful. The psychiatrist scheduling was easy and she called right on time. I was stuck at work and had to call her back; no problem! After talking to her she answered all my questions and added my second dog. This was a great decision. I wish I had done this a long time ago.

I am pleased so far! I havent had to use it but all my daughters live in apartments and I cant leave my Presley behind so we decided to do it the legitimate way. I really wish people would read the notes they provide. They have 2 business days (not 2 days) to reach out to us to schedule. I filled out the paperwork on Friday afternoon and by Monday evening everything was completed. Therapist was knowledgeable. One thing I liked is all the questions they ask. It is very thorough. It was easy to get started and I liked the promise of a refund if you didn t get approved. The only somewhat negative thing I can say is that when the step came to schedule a call, that didn t happen for me, I just got a call and thankfully I was somewhat available to chat with the therapist. I applied to renew my PSD letter one month before my prior letter expiration date ( I got a reminder email from Certapet saying it was time to renew, so I took action immediately). I noticed that the date mentioned on the new PSD letter is the evaluation date for this time instead of the original annual renewal date. My doctor mentioned that she couldnt change the date on the legal document, so I asked customer service to help me fix this problem. First, they kept mentioning that my annual renewal date had now changed to the new date, and I am the one who would be responsible for keeping track of this on my end as this is my prescription; they cannot request nor suggest what is best for me to do, so they cannot offer any solution. After I said what made me uncomfortable was that the reminder email they sent had never said things like that to the customers. The customer service just said she would make a note to the team, which is hilarious. Additionally, when I asked if they could help me to void the letter and I can reapply as my expiration date gets closer, the customer service said, If you have already been approved for your letter, we will not provide a refund or cancellation as the letter has been issued and services have been rendered. They are not helping at all! So, please renew your letter when the expiration date gets closer; if not, youll lose days or months on your letter! Youre gonna know bad things also could happen to people who take earlier actions.

RUN and Highly not Recommend. Promised 2 days connecting to a therapist, didn t make it and still charge $40 clinical review fee in shame after I canceled it. I contacted customer service on Friday and cancelled the service. Next Tuesday a therapist jumped and send me a phone link ( of course cancelled) then she charged me $40 for Tuesday morning clinical review fee. ??? I already canceled it last Friday, why would you perform the clinical review and no review results were given at all. Theres nothing special about this pet certification service. I needed a housing letter ASAP a few years ago and this was fastest at the time, but there are many other less expensive options with much better online service. I was unable to turn off my auto-renewal in their online portal and cutomer service did not respond to my email for several days. They did agree to refund my $150, but kept a $5 service fee. When you cant magange your account in their online portal, a service fee for a refund of an unauthorized charge is bad form.
